Arrival Story: It is hard to believe this gentle little girl survived the mean streets of Kentucky. She was found there as a stray and being on her own at such a young age (she is only 8 months old!) must have terrified her.
When Faith was brought out of her kennel at the shelter, she hit the deck and would not budge. When she came off the transport after her long drive North, she acted pretty much the same way.
But after 2 weeks in foster care, Faith has blossomed into a playful sweetheart with eyes that will melt your heart. Faith especially enjoys playing with Jackman, another foster just about the same age. They run and jump and tumble and then they curl up together to sleep.
Bio: Faith appears to be a flat coated retriever but looks to be on the small side for the breed. This gorgeous girl waited in the shelter for almost 2 months. You see, black dogs do not photograph very well and, therefore, people searching online could not really see how absolutely adorable she is. While we really tried to capture her cuteness in these photos, she is really STUNNING in person. Her coat is thick, soft and wavy. Her tail curls gracefully and wags almost constantly. Her brown eyes are soft and loving. And she has an adorable white half mitten on one front paw!
Faith loves to cuddle and is eager to please. She walks pretty well on a leash but could use more work. She is just 28 lbs. and still growing. She is up to date on shots and she has been spayed.
Faith would be a wonderful companion for a family. She is so gentle and loving, even small children would be fine with her.
