Update on Grammy

Hi pups! I thought I'd give an update on Grammy Pat, for those who are interested.

Grammy is living with my Auntie for now. Which is probably good cause she had a LOT of tum-tum issues from all the drugs she was on. She's doing better now, but Momma said this weekend was rough. And smelly. But Grammy's eating good and stuff, so that's good. She has this weird thing on her big long boo boo. It's called a wound vac, and Momma says it looks like someone stuffed Grammy's belly with insulation. But Grammy says it makes it feel SO much better. A nurse comes 3 times a week to clean it up and make it smaller. Grammy said THAT hurts, but she can deal. She goes back next week to get a check-up, and then she'll make the appointment for the cancer part of things. My other Auntie got a REALLY good book about ovarian cancer from this place called John Hopkins, and she's been reading parts of it to Momma. Momma feels very encouraged about it.

Momma insisted that she go with Grammy for the first cancer doctor appointment. MrJackFreckle's Momma wrote a big thing for Momma about what to ask the doctor, so she's printing it out and taking it with her. Thanks, MJF's Momma. We REALLY appreciate all that you've done for us. You helped put Momma's mind at ease.

Grammy's keeping her spirits up. She told Momma that she's not going through all this heck of the surgery only to die of cancer. She said she's ready to FIGHT! WOO HOO! You go, Grammy! You kick that cancer's %*^(%!!!!! She said she doesn't even care if she loses her hair cause it's so thin anyhow!

Me and Momma are very proud of Grammy. She's been so very brave. In fact, Momma's been SO inspired by Grammy that she made a dentist appointment for herself! Momma is TERRIFIED of the dentist, but her one tooth has been bothering her, so she said if Grammy can be brave about CANCER, Momma can be brave about the dentist. YAY for Momma! (She hasn't been to a dentist in 13 years, pups, so this is a VERY BIG DEAL for Momma!)

Me? I'm fine. I never puked yesterday, so Momma thinks I just got a nibble of the crab apple. It was probably the bug that made my tummy hurt. I never even tooted, which makes Momma happy cause sometimes my toots smell really bad!!

Hoping and praying that the healing continues.

And my growlmy is not fond of the dentist peeps either...she had a bad experience when she was a little girl...but she does put a lid on her anxiety and goes regularly, which is a good thing, because of all of her family, she is the only one who helps contribute to the office furniture, and the salaries! BOL!!Don't do a BP check when she has to go there though...

Your Grammy Pat has lots of 'spit and vinegar'...those are very useful tools when you are dealing with these issues and you are at their center! I like that you found a great book. For these types of problems...'Knowledge IS power!'
Keep firing the ? at me, and I will send them to my growlmy, and she will try to find out anwers when ever you feel the need, OK?! Praying a lot, and that everything will have the best of outcomes. Hugs!

Glad that your doggy tummy wasn't in a bad state, Fizzy! You have to be a good pup, now, your pawrents do not need more things...OK?! BOL!

Woofs, licks and hugs!

Yay for Grammy!! We're glad she is somewhere she can rest wif fambly. She has the spunk needed to beat cancer, fur sure. I'm glad your tummy didn't turn on ya. That woulda been ruff. :/ Oh, your mommy should ask da dentist if he/she gives sedatives for people with anxiety. Mommy's dentist offers this. I think it's becoming more and more common practice coz lotsa peeps are skeered of dentists.

Greta, Momma asked about that, and her insurance don't pay for it, and it's kinda expensive, so she says she's just going to "suck it up and deal". She's gonna take a Xanax from a friend before she goes!
