Arrival Story:
Gabby was about 2 months old and a stray in a shelter. She was very sick, too. She had a staph infection, sarcoptic mange, and kennel cough. Her options were quite limited. It is hard for dogs like Gabby to make it out of shelters alive when the logic sometimes used is "there are so many healthy dogs that no one is adopting, why should we put the time into making a sick dog better, only to have no one adopt it?" Luckily for Gabby, there were people that recognized that saving lives one at a time is still very much worthwhile. She went into foster care with our family, was 100% better in 4 weeks, and was also able to experience some great socialization in her foster home after she was able to come out of quarantine for not being contagious. A healthy, happy, friendly Gabby was easily adopted into a forever home. Go Gabby!
