Arrival Story:
Even though we have 3 other dogs, we wanted to surprise our 4 year old son with a new puppy. We have always wanted a Basset Hound so I started by calling our local animal shelter and there were none. So, I called our local veternarian offices to find a breeder and there were none. Then I called a veternarian office in the county next to us and got lucky. I immediately called the breeder and was emailed a picture of 2 Basset Hounds and when I saw Copper's picture, I immediately knew he was the one for us. He was perfect and I knew that our son would love him. And Copper has taken up with our son more than me and my husband. He follows Lance everywhere and this is good. They can grow up together. As for Copper's name, his breeder named him Copper from the movie The Fox and the Hound. We loved the name and kept it.

A Dogumentary by Copper


Oh My Droopy Eye!

Today I fell asleep in my Mommy's lap. I slept for about an hour and when I woke up, my left eye was drooping. My Mommy called my Daddy telling him that something is wrong with me. Mommy got a warm towel and was wiping my eye thinking that might fix me and that didn't work. Then Mommy started going hysterical. She called my veternarian and the receptionist told her that she didn't know if Basset Hounds eyes would do that. Mommy told me that she's going to rethink taking me to that veternarian again. Mommy has searched something called the internet to find out if this is normal and hasn't found anything. She has forgotten that I am a Basset Hound. Mommy is praying that by morning, my right eye has drooped like the left one.
