Two Week Vet Followup

I had to go back to see Dr. Fiani today. She was so happy to see me. She snatched me out of mom's hands and walked around hugging me!!! Dr. Fiani is the best. We're going to miss her when she goes back home to Australia next week. The pups and kitties and other animals in Australia are really lucky to get her back! If I had my way, she'd never leave me!!!

Anyway, they took out the stitches and said the healing looks great. The jaw is in good alignment. They also gave me a little sedative so they could do some X-rays. Dr. Fiani said there has already been a little bit of bone growth in just two weeks!!! Isn't that amazing???!!!!

I still have to lie low for a total of 3 months to allow the bone growth to take place without injury. Mom told her I'm running around and that I jumped on & off a few things but she really wants me to be careful. I also have to stay on the antibiotics for another 2 weeks, since this is an implant. But it all seems worth it. Mom told Dr. Fiani I'm a changed dog. She thinks it's the first time in a long time that I haven't had pain, since I do the happy dance whenever I see her, and am running around the yard. Dr. Fiani was really happy to hear that.

I return in 2 weeks for more X-rays. Keeping our paws crossed that the bones keep growing together!
