when we pulled away from the house without Dixie. She really is my security blanket. The Mom and I got up early--6:30am--and left the house at 7am. I was really excited to get my coat on, especially when the Mom picked up her car keys. Even though I ride in the footwell, I like going for car rides as we end up at the park a lot. BOL
When we went out the front door, Dixie pushed out too. But the Mom yelled "No, Dixie" and made her go back inside. When we got in the car and started to leave and I realized No Dixie--I lost it! I started to whine and claw at the door and window. The Mom had to talk to me, but I really didn't calm down for quite a while.
We drove and drove and drove, all the way back to Indiana. This always makes me nervous, because I came from a shelter in Indiana. Was I going back??? Nope. We ended up at my second least favorite place--the Vet's!!!
Vet Tech Mary took me in the back and even though she put me in a cage I gave her a kiss. Then not 5 minutes later, she came back and took me back out to the Mom!!!!! Turns out Dr. M hurt herself the day before and was heading to Urgent Care. So, no dental procedure for me today! The Mom and I stopped at McDonalds for some sausage biscuits for breakfast (I had been fasted since last night) and when we got home we hit the mattresses!
I have to say, the Mom was quite surprised at how upset I was going someplace without Dixie. She promised me that Dixie would come along for the ride from now on. Good Mom.
