1st Camping Trip

I had my first camping trip in July! It was so much fun too! We stayed at a really nice campground called Yogi Bear Campground in Nova Scotia! It was reeallly, reeallly hot but my Mum and Dad made sure I cooled off by filling a big rubbermaid container lid full of nice, yummy cold water and I lay in it and drank it and it was wonderful! My human brothers and sister were there and we had a great time playing and they took me for lots and lots of walks around the campsite. I made loads of friends with other doggies too! The nice lady staying at the campsite beside us told my Mum I was a really good camper. She thought I was really calm, well-behaved and hardly barked at all! She was thoroughly impressed! :-)

I can't wait to go camping again! It was awesome!

It's HOT today!

Wowsy! I'm new to this world and I'm beginning to realize how warm it can get in the summertime! Today it's going up to 34 C with a humidex of 40 C! My Mum is keeping me cool by filling my turtle pool with nice cold water and letting me play with the water when she sprays the hose.

My Dad is playing rugby today in this crazy heat! The air quality isn't the greatest today either so I hope all the guys on Dad's team play safe and drink lots and lots of water and take it easy on the pitch.

I'm going to have a splash in my pool now!

Holiday Inn

Well, my human sister and brothers are home for the summer and I LOVE them soooooooo much! They're so much fun to play with!

Ben loves to let me lick his face alllllll over and I like to chase him around the house too! Rachel loves to cuddle me and give me lots of hugs and kisses! Eli loves to run around with me in the garden and throws the ball for me!

Ben and Rachel have been calling our house the Holiday Inn because we're all home for the summer holidays!

I'm not used to having so many wonderful brothers and sister home all at the same time so I'm missing out on my naps! I can barely keep my eyes open sometimes! Mum, Dad, Ben, Rachel and Eli thinks it's pretty funny! Oops, speaking of...time for me to catch up on my beauty sleep! I am a growing girl and I want to look pretty for my family!

I LOVE SWIMMING! :-)

My Dad, Rachel and Eli took me swimming for the first time! It was awesome! I wasn't too sure at first about my feet leaving the ground but my Dad threw my Kong retrieving toy out and I just had to get it for him and bring it back. I dove right in and under the water! It was so cool! I didn't know I could swim!!! I LOVE IT!!!

I ended up getting an ear infection though in one of my ears. Driving me crazy! When a scratch my ear I moan a lot-it feels great! My Mum and Dad have to put drops in my ear to make it better. If there's one thing I hate more than anyone touching my tail is anyone putting stuff in my ears. I've been giving my Mum and Dad a reeeaaaaalllly hard time. Anyhow, my ear doesn't itch as much anymore! I can't WAIT to go swimming again!

Back to the nice vet!

Well, it really hasn't been a great two weeks for me and my tummy at all. After I had my "snip snip" everything looked good but then my tummy started to swell on one side. My Mum and Dad were very worried so they took me to the vets to have it checked out. The vet said it was a seroma and to keep an eye on it. Well, my Mum and Dad love me so much and take such good care of me! They noticed that the seroma erupted onto my skin (at the incision site) and it looked really bad today so I had to see the nice vet again. She was really nice to me and took a look at my tum-tum. She gave me some antibiotics to take for a couple of days. They're horrible things - huge and enormous and my Mum shoves them down my throat so I won't cough them back up again. It's kinda taking the stuffing out of me too! I feel very sleepy (of course, I had my first sleepover at my Granny and Grandpa's last night so I played with Dougie a lot and that kinda tired me out!). The nice vet said my tummy's going to take a little while to heal but that's okay because I know my Mum and Dad will take very good care of me! My Mum and Dad think I'm growing again too. I was weighed at the nice vets and I now weigh 55 lbs. I'm a big girl! :-)

The "Snip Snip"!

On Thursday I went to the vet for my "snip snip". That's what my Mum calls it. I was very excited to be at the vets and I wanted to say hello to everyone there! The vet's assistant was a very nice lady and she and my Mum took me to a crate at the back of the vet's office. My Mum brought my favorite bed, my duckie, and my teddy to keep me company. I wasn't a very happy girl when I was locked in the crate and my Mum started to walk away. I thought she was leaving me at the vets for good! I was very upset and started to bark. Well, it wasn't really all that bad-the vet was very nice to me when I had my "snip snip".

My Mum and Dad came back to get me in the evening. I was still very groggy after the anesthetic but was I ever glad to see them! The vet told them I was just the best girl in the world. He said I was a lovely girl! That made my Mum and Dad very happy!

I arrived home and plonked myself on the couch. My furry sister, Felicity, could not understand why I wasn't chasing her around the house (like a usually try to do but my Mum and Dad stop me every time!). She even came up to the couch because she knew something was wrong with me.

Well, now it's Monday and my Mum is at home taking care of me. She says my incision is healing quite nicely which is nice to hear! She won't let me do anything too strenuous right now-like see my Granny & Granpa's doggie, Dougie! He's my buddy and I get quite excited when I see him! I'll wait another day or so then my Mum will take me down to say hello!

So it really wasn't that bad getting the "snip snip" after all! I'm so happy it's all over and done with! Wahoo! :-)

There's A Doggie Toothfairy!

My mouth has been really bothering me lately! My Mum says it's because I'm teething! I've been chewing on everything in sight. My Mum was cleaning up and discovered one of my "gnashers" (that's what she calls my teeth) lying on the chair. My Dad was a little upset because he didn't think little puppies like us lose our teeth but Mum set him straight. My Mum picked up my gnasher and told me to be a good girl for the rest of the day and the Doggie Toothfairy would come a visit overnight and bring me a treat! I was so excited! And guess what? The Doggie Toothfairy left me this really yummy Greenie bone - makes my breath smell reeeeeallly fresh! :-) I LOVE the Doggie Toothfairy!

"The Shredder"

My Mum and Dad have come up with a new nickname for me! They're calling me "The Shredder" lately. Hmmm! I think it's because I found the BBQ cover quite tasty yesterday and ripped it and took pieces off it to chew on. My Mum says it's because I'm teething. I was wondering why my mouth hurts so much!

I went exploring on my own the other day and discovered a room and saw a play thing my Mum and Dad call a toilet paper roll on this hook thing. I took it off the hook of course! It was nice and soft and chewy when I put it in my mouth so I took it to the top of the stairs to chew on. My Mum came up to check on me (she thought I was napping on her bed) and saw a whole bunch of shredded toilet paper everywhere! She scolded me a bit and then gave me one of my stuffed babies to chew on instead.

Mum and Dad won't let me in that room again. They keep the door shut now!

MORE Snow!

This is great! It snowed again on Sunday and my Mum and Dad spent Monday digging it all away. My Dad got a new thing called a snow scoop! It's awesome! I like to ride on it! I feel like I'm on a dog sled and telling my Dad to "Mush! Mush!"
