Arrival Story:
We found Queenie at the Kern County Animal Control Facility in Bakersfield, CA. We had originally gone down to adopt a dog for my mom, that we found online. It was about 40 degrees out, and all the puppies, about 5 in one run and none related, were all huddled in a cardboard box on the ground. They were all shivering and very sad looking. Queenie came bounding out of the box when she saw me. She ran back and forth barking her head off. I put my hand up to the cyclone fencing and she reached thru w/a paw and put it in my hand. Then she stuck her nose thru the fence and licked my hand. I was really sad because we didn't come down to adopt her. I noticed that she was extremely underweight and her hind end was shaved and she had several deep lacerations that had been stapled shut. It looked like she was cut up or had been attacked by an animal. I nearly cried. We adopted the other dog but they wouldn't let us take her until she was spayed. That nite I had a nightmare that Queenie was euthanized before I could save her. I called the facility the next morning and put a hold on her. They don't normally do that, but the girl who worked there loved Queenie and had actually named her. Queenie is pure love, and we feel very lucky to share our lives with her.

Bio:
Please don't breed or buy while millions of dogs, like me, die in our shelters.  Choose adoption and make a commitment for life.Thank you.  xoxo, Wylie  p.s. for more info: http://www.spotsociety.org/fatedog .html Thank you.
