Arrival Story:
I was looking for a Doberman puppy when Butch was brought to my home by local kids who had been feeding him house scraps for a couple of weeks. their mums were frightened of him as he was in an awful state at the time so they had called the dog warden to come get him. While the mums were waiting the kids brought him down to me as they knew i was Doberman crazy. he and Boris clicked right away and here he stayed until we sadly lost him to a long illness on 11th March 04 aged 15 3/4 years old

Butch my first rescue dobie(He came with the name i didn't pick it) he was in such a bad state when he was brought to the house here he had lumps warts was baldy with k9 dermatists and a totally nervous wreck ,he had never seen a" squeaky toy " didn't know how to kiss and quivered when you lifted anything near him papers etc. I phoned the local shelters to see if he had been reported missing, and the local police. I said i would keep him with me for the required time his owner has to claim him back and if they did not i would keep him i then phoned my vet and they seen him right away, they thought i was taking alot on as he needed an awful lot of treatment and no guarantee i would be able to keep him, but i thought what to hell he needs the treatment so we went ahead and it did take around £1000.00 to get him back to health again he needed a lot of lumps biopsy and and removed but once this was done and his hair grew back he was such a handsome guy. I brought him to classes and he thrived Butch, Boris and I hada great time together for many years, but old age then came and with it many problems it started with his bladder but we soon got that under control then came arthritis that too was grand but then he developed wobbler syndrome another dobie problem and would have been at the vets every 4/5 weeks to keep it under control then in October 03 he took a massive stroke which he survived, but he was left with brain damage and senile dementia so (which was great as he didn't know he was old and he had forgot about his pains) But with it he also developed a Dilated Cardio Myopathy,Canine Cognitive Dysfunction and a host of other things, From then on he was at the vets at first every 2 weeks then every week and finally he was there it not every day ,every other day but was grand until 11th March 04 when he lost all control of his legs it was then i had to let him go aged 15 3/4 years old. IF love could have saved him he would still be running around today. So thanks to Butch I have learned never judge a book by it's cover because under all the warts and lumps was a beauty. My beautiful Butch forever loved and missed
