My Traumatic Attack-"Bitten"

Today-was a beautiful, pleasantly, atypical warm, sunny Saturday winter morning for Northern California climate, the warm weather was an additive bonus to my monthly Dog Park Frenchie Meet-up. Once a month I get the opportunity to sniff-sniff and run wild with my "own-kind".

I am friendly and especially friendly when it comes to other Frenchies. I participate in charge laps (running around in circles), short game of tag you're it, fetching the ball, and pouncing (never too rough). Unfortunately, as much as I love my "own-kind", my attention span gets the most of me; as I am compelled to greet my "own-kind" human counterparts or I have inclinations to set-forth on my expeditions to explore the surroundings but I am wise to not wander too far from Mommy's view.

I was off to the side exploring the evergreen, scented twigs and auburn-colored, crisp leaves on the ground (by myself) when a fawn Frenchie (first-time, new member of the group) came charging at me but luckily her Mom pulled her away before her jaw snapped near my neck. Frightened, Mommy shoved me to play in the other direction as I reluctantly skipped away. Was that Frenchie playing with me or trying to eat me? Hmmm???

I continue to play with other Frenchies as Mommy's protective hawk eyes glare at me. She turns her back for a millisecond, in that blink, the same fawn Frenchie charges at me again-this time Mommy pushes her away with a slap-BUT too late, her teeth had grazed my right cheeks. Mommy picks me up as blood drips from the open wounds on my face. The fawn Frenchie's Mommy did not even discipline her, only continues to let her play. As Mommy vigorously wipes my wound to halt the bleeding the fawn Frenchie has already bitten another Frenchie. Other Pawrents were outraged and kindly came to Mommy's defense, commanding the fawn Frenchie to go home-it was no longer welcome.

Mommy, being worried Mommy, immediately took me to the Vet for an examination of my wounds-"I will live" just a little traumatized. (I received my dose of injectable antibiotics, pain medications, and sleeping medications-ALL GOOD!)

As for Mommy, she is feeling guilty for not being able to protect me.

I would have come to your defense Zoe just like I defend my kitties & Wrinkles! Other dogs know not to mess with me! It's the other dog's human who is to blame so tell your mommy not to feel bad.

*hugs* I'm so sorry you got hurt today! Tell your mommy that it's not her fault - it's the other person's fault! Stoopid humans should not be allowed to have dogs! :P Hope you feel better soon.

Oh, Zoe!

I am so sorry that that happened to you!

I have had a BAD BOY doggie charge at me, and it was NOT very nice at all! SO RUDE!!!

I hope your bites heal perfectly and that CHARGING-BITING GIRL stays away from you!

Zoe, we are glad that you will be OK! Humans!!!!! That Frenchie should not be allowed back to play and his human needs alot of training. Your momma should not feel guilty things can happen so fast. Hugs to your momma and you!

Oh Zoe you poor pup you. That fawn frenchie was just plain mean to do thet to sweet little ole you. It's peeps need to train the little monster before it pulls that on the wrong doggie. Your Mom shouldn't feel guilty the folks who brought that untrained dog to the park are the guilty ones! Just glad to hear that you are going to be ok. Rest up and get better little one.

Ohhh no!!! Poor pup... I woulda been your own personal doggie body guard if I was there! I'm glad your okay and I hope they never bring that evil little fawn dog again!!
