I's So Awesome, I's Jealous of Me-self!

Mommy got home from work today & I's there to greet her at the door. She seemed a bit sad to me even though she picked me up & told me she loved very much. She still misses Rinky so much. She says now she's become very clingy with me & said she would just be lost if I wasn't with her. She said she is going to make an appointment for me to get a check-up at the dogtor. She is ashamed to admit that I's never been to a 'weternarian! Rinky, may she rest in peace, was in and out of the dogtor's office more times than I can count. She had such delicate health. I's on the other paw, has never been sick a day in my life! Mommy still feels bad about never taking me in for a check-up. I's has been to mobile clinics. I's goes to them for my shots, my heart-wormy medicine and many moons ago I's go to a mobile clinic to get spayed so I's could remain pure & innocent. Mommy said she's gonna make a 'pointment for me to see a dogtor for a thorough check-up. Should I's be scared? Rinky once told me "Ebby, never ever voluntarily walk into a 'weternarian's office."

Oh Ebby, I'm sorry your mommy is sad. It's is going to be a while befure the void Rinky left is less painful. I know you are patient and kindly to her.

Your mom shoulds NOT, on the other paw, be ashamed about the veterfurnarian! Whether you walk into a stick house veterfurnarian or a mobile veterfurnarian you as a healthy dog have been gettin' what you need! You doesn't has the Rabies, does you?! You doesn't has the nasty ole Heartworm, does you?!

If your mom thinks it's time fur you to go to the stick house veterfurnarian, that's fine. But do NOT let her beat herself up over not goin' sooner! You's a healthy pup that's what counts!

Don't be too scared. Sometimes vets want to stick needles in you and stick things up where they shouldn't, but you can also get lotsa pets at the vet's too. And maybe some treats. So some parts stink, but there can be some good in there.

You 'ready know the bad stuff--gettin weighed, the needles, so nuffin really new fur ya at the dogtor's.

Why should you have to go to the vet if you were not sick? Your momma loves you a lot and she made sure you had all the shots and stuff so we don't think there is any reason for her to feel bad.

Tell your mommy not to be ashamed just like Pepper said your mommy has been doing everything right and mobile vets are real vets. As for the sadness Rinky was with you for a long time the sadness doesn't disappear quickly it will get easier over time, just keep giving your mommy all the love she needs and she has all your Pup pals and their famlies if she needs someone to talk to.

all the vet does for me are my shots Ebby.
and i get a blood test for heartworm..i think that's it!
mommy has to bug him..'aren't you going to listen to her heart? how's she look to you?'
it's good to get a 'wellness' exam at your age..i'm sure it will come back pawfect! just be prepared for that 'diet' being reinstated heh heh! the dogter thinks we should all show our ribs. not likely on me! i hardly get any dinners as it is! i'm always hungry!
your teeth look good too.
and your eyes sparkle like stars, your coat is so shiny and you run like the wind! :)
so don't worry Ebby!
(we miss Rinks too)

Oh (((((((((((((Ebby and Mum)))))))))))))) It's true, I do find the Vet a bit scary, but once we get in there, our vets are ever so nice to me, and give me a pat and a cuddle and a treat once the consult is over. I'm so sorry your mum is still sad, although it's perfectly understandable sweetheart. Wounds of the heart take time to heal. We love you xoxoxoxoxo

Awe Ebby and Mommy ((((hugs)))
We use the mobile shot clinics also. Some of us (me) have to go to the vet more often for other things but, otherwise we just get our shots that we need at the clinics.
You look absolutely pawfect to me! Your Mommy is a wonderful Mommy!!!!

I agree with the others... on both things...

Mum is going to be sad about Rinky.. it doesnt just "go away" what happens is you slowly deal with it differently.. not better.. not worse.. just differently.

As to neglecting you ... " CWAP" !!!!!!

You have your injections.. you were spayed.. you have your heartworm meds. Your a a fit HEALTHY little girl !!

I am cetain had you NEEDED to go to the vet your Mum would have taken you !!

So.. a check up is a good thing.. but Mum has NOTHING at all to be ashamed of.

Oh Ebby you tell your Mom she has nothing at all to be ashamed of. You have had the best of care and most of all a ton of love. You don't need to be scared of that weternarian they like to poke ya but all in all they do have your best interest at heart. As for the sad my dear Ebby it is something that will be with you for quite a while. Some days are better than others and sometimes it all just comes rushing in and hits you like a ton of bricks. You and your Mom can and will help each other through this. I know I am helping my Mom and she helps me when we get to feeling real blue over Cheyenne, Dolly, and our Dogster pals like Rinky, that left us way too soon.

Your Momma shouldn't be ashamed. You're a healthy dog and don't need to go to the vet.

My folks only take me for my shots when required and as long as I'm healthy, all is good.

Don't be ashamed Ebby's Momma! Ebby has all her shots and she's healthy, so that's GOOD!

(Ebby, just be careful about them sticking things up your butt. I swear every time I go to the vet I get something stuck up my butt!!)

Ebby, mom had two cats growing up. Those cats got all their kitty shots and their baby kitty surgeries. Then, those cats became shut ins and never went outside. They got very upset in the car and did terrible things due to stress. Mom and her family decided to not take them to the vet regularly. They were healthy and when they needed it, they were brought to the vet. But for over fifteen years, they did not go to the vet for regular exams. Those cats both lived to be almost twenty years old. Please tell your mom not too worry, she takes AWESOME care of you. I can see it in your eyes :)

As for you going to the vet....I agree with Fizzy...protect the bum. Those vets are weird and they like to stick things up there. Yuck.
