Continuing on from previous chapter....

I's spent that night lost out on that lonely road searching for the nice man. The following morning, me hears & sees a familiar white truck coming towards me. I's moves to the side of the road as he passes. I's chase him down again! "MISTER, I'S DOWN HERE! CAN'T YOU'S SEE ME?! PLEASE STOP I'S DOWN HERE!!!" The man pulls over & again I's roll on my back & pee on myself. "For sure he's gotta beat for escaping," I thought.

"Ursula, why did you run off?" he asked as he put me back in the truck. He so nice, he didn't even kick me. I's wanted to tell him I's looking for him cause I's lonely. I built up the courage to lick his hand. He patted me on my head. By the way, Ursula is what he'd named me because he was watching a novela (a Mexican soap opera) in which there was a woman named Ursula who always dressed in black. Mommy later changed my name to Ebony. Hmmmm...I's gonna ask her to change my name to Ebony Ursula Gonzalez.

Anywho, I's taken back to the chicken coop where the man had patched the hole in the gate so I's wouldn't escape again. I's there for a couple of days until one morning I's spot this little human lady walking by with a brown dog that had a coat that looked to be 2 sizes too big. The dog was all wrinkled & was busy sniffing 'round. I's began barking my little lungs out! The lady & dog stopped & started walking in my direction.
I's got scared cause the dog started snorting & came charging toward me. I dropped to the ground by the gate & rolled on my back & peed on myself. I 'voided eye contact with the dog as she began sniffing me thru the gate. The lady runs over & says, "Wrinkles, that's enough you're scaring her." She walked in the yard & leaned down to pet me. I's pees on myself again.
"Awhhh...It's okay sweetie I won't hurt you. You are so cute! Look Wrinkles, isn't she a cutie just like you?"
Wrinkles began sniffing me again & then let me sniff her.

And this is how I met Mommy & Wrinkles. The nice man that rescued me was my Paw-Paw. I's gonna let Mommy finish the story from here.

EBBY'S MOM: After walking back from the chicken coop I asked Dad, "Hey, who's little black pup is that in the chicken coop?" He said he'd found her on the side of the road. He claimed to be hiding her from Mom. All this time Mom said she'd known about the dog he was trying to hide from her! LOL! Well to make a long story short I asked Dad to let me take her home with me. "I'll bring her back to you in two weeks I said." Two weeks turned into 8 years & I still haven't taken her back & never will (except to visit of course)! I'd be lost without my little clown---she sure can make me laugh!

Sophie Claire reads the final chapter to Harley Davidson and all of a sudden he leaps off of her lap, runs around doing the happy dance! Woooohooooo and Arrrooooo, Ebby is finally in her furever home!!!!!!!

I think your name should be Ebony Ursula Gonzalez, too.... sounds regal!

We loved getting to read your story.... we are so glad you have such a wonderful home now and can put all the scary times behind you.

We also think it is funny how your Pawpaw thought he was keeping you secret but his wife knew all the time.. men! BOL!!BOL!!

BOL! Yes Finley Grammy knew all the time cause the chicken coop was on her walking route & used to bark at her when she passed by. Grammy passed away in 2004--we all miss her so much.

I remembers when Ebby used to be afraid of me. When she came to live with us Mommy gave her a bath because Mommy said Ebby smelled like a goat from peeing on herself so much. Poor Ebby! The bath water was yellow from all her pee. With lots of love & patience she soon became very confident & took over as the alpha dog which was fine with me. Mommy says it's cause I's more laid back & gentle & Ebby is more sassy & dominant. I doesn't mind cause she takes care of me & the kitties.

awww...what a great arrival story of how you ended up with your forever family. That was nice of papa to take you into his home and take of you until you found your mommy that is.

Mama jus read me the story again. Mama's favorite part is that your mommy's mom knew all along about you even though your paw paw was tryin to hide you.
