Welcome back from the holiday overload of human food my friends. I raise my paw to any dog that managed to make it through the season without munching on some grass to ease the indigestion.
I, for one, am happy to be back into the dry dog food routine --with some human morsels thrown in for good measure.
My family has gone back to the work/school grind so I've returned to having the doghouse to myself during the day. Though I enjoyed having my parents and sisters around constantly, it does get a little wearing at times. Now I'm back to sleeping on my favorite couch pillow without being bothered, and barking my head off at all the strange noises outside without getting yelled at. Ahhh, it really is a dog's life!
Since most of my fellow furry friends are back to their daily routines, I thought --since we all have some extra time to surf the web while our owners are out-- I'd compile a list of some of my favorite websites to check out. All of these sites are very dog-friendly. Enjoy!
www.dogpile.com--->a wonderful search engine
www.oldyellersrevenge.com--->great photos of dogs...and you can have a portrait taken too!
www.c3baking.com--->simply delectable dog treats, and healthy too!
www.animalalliancenyc.org-->the Mayor's alliance for NYC's animals. They also have a great newsletter called "Out of the Cage."
www.urbandogmagazine.com--->wonderful for the urban dog in all of us.
www.petgaz.net--->NYC's pet magazine that includes pet-friendly real estate listings!
www.dogster.org--->the Tompkins Square dog run. They hold a mean Halloween parade and give out $4,500 worth of prizes! That can buy a LOT of bones.
www.metropawlispetboutique.com--->there's a lot of stuff at this site, but my favorite is the puplight for a dog's neck. That thing saved my neighbor, Puppy's, life!
www.barkerystore.com--->now I'm not one for the frou-frou beds, though I will admit, I have a down comforter for my nighttime bed, but these humans have a wonderful selection of bodhi toys and some accessories that I know my friend Elton would love!
www.artforanimals.org--->this organization gives financial support for animal rescue organizations through the selling of animal/non-animal related and created art.
AND, don't forget that every dog craves variety in their food --just like our human friends-- so check out my friend Cooper's ccokbook called: "Throw Me a Bone : 50 Healthy, Canine Taste-Tested Recipes for Snacks, Meals, and Treats. " You can order it through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and just about any other bookstore.
Licks and Barks,
