Work and Play--My Good Life

Catching up

It has been a long time since Mom wrote for me. Sheesh, now I have to remember things.

Last week, Mom got sick. She sneezed and snuffled and blew her nose for about 3 days. One time, she sneezed so hard that something she was sucking on flew across the room. Belle wanted to lick it up. Mom found it first. Too bad for Belle. Mom did take me to the park a couple of times to chase my ball. She was sneezing and her nose dripped when she leaned over to pick up my ball. I appreciated her effort.

On Friday, I got a bath first thing. Mom dried me a little bit, put me in the van and off we went. WHAAA???

We wound up at Breeze's house. Evidently, it was grooming day. Mom is trying to learn how to groom me, but she is clumsy and not good at it. JoAnn worked on Breeze for a long time. Unfortunately, JoAnn doesn't get how Aussies' (and Mini-Aussies') butt coats grow. She keeps cutting Breeze's butt coat back because she doesn't like how it "sticks out." I whispered to Mom that it sticks out because she keeps cutting it. Mom whispered, "I know."

Mom got me started with my ears and around my toes. JoAnn finished it up. Mom says I look really pretty...there wasn't much butt trimming on me, just the part that gets really stinky.

Yesterday, we got to go to the mall with Auntie Jeanne and Gracie. We walked around the whole mall like 4 or 5 times, up elevators, down elevators. The humans sat at a table in the food court for awhile and fiddled with beads. Gracie is still learning how to work. I do my best to show her. Auntie Jeanne encourages me and says I am "mature". BOL! She hasn't seen me play hide and seek with my donut.

At one point, I told Mom I had to potty and she took me outside on the lawn. When we were going down the steps, a man behind us said "too small to be a service dog." Mom turned around to let him know about my job. He said he wasn't talking about me. He unzipped his jacket and the funniest little dog poked its flattened nose out. Mom laughed. They talked about SDs for awhile so the two nice men could better understand how important our jobs are.

When we got in the van, I thought we were done, but no, we wound up at Sam's club. I was tired and Gracie started falling asleep standing. Were the humans done? NO. We went to Walmart so Mom could return the broken heater she bought there. We went ALL the way around that store too. Needless to say, I slept well last night.

Today it was SO cold. We didn't go anywhere. BOOORRRIINNGG. I'm sure we'll be going some where tomorrow. Mom said something about men coming to cut our tree, whatever that means.
