It was sunny today. UMMMMM, I love lying on the grass when it's sunny. My sister, Belle and I were outside most of the day. Mom had the door open. Whenever I wanted to, I could look through the screen door to see what she was doing. She was on the computer a lot. When she started to clean the bird cage, Belle perked up. Belle loves it when Mom cleans the bird cage because she takes the rug out from underneath and shakes it out over the back side of the deck. We can't get to where the seeds and stuff fall, but we both watch to see if any seeds blow back onto the deck. The wind was blowing the wrong way today...oh well, a girl can always hope.
After Mom had lunch, she finished cleaning the house, on the computer some more, then on the phone for awhile. I thought she'd NEVER take me to the park. Mom always comes through. We practiced things I need to learn for the advanced obedience demo at the fairgrounds in June. Then she threw the ball for me until I was so tired I plopped on my belly.
Later, she talked to the Boss on the phone about website and class schedules, blah, blah blah...THEN, they started talking about ME! The Boss thinks I'm working like a pro and that I'm ready to go full-time--lose the "in training" patch. They are going to get together for lunch this week, look over the public access test and talk about that. I am not worried about it. My job won't change. I can't read the patches anyway, so, whatever....
Mom thinks it's cool that the Boss is so proud of how well we are doing. Mom ordered a new vest for me. I don't know when I'll start wearing it. When I do she wants to celebrate with our friends. We'll keep everybody posted on how it's going.
This is so exciting! Rethy, we have no doubt that you are ready to graduate to SD status. You've demonstrated your professionalism and skill over and over.
My human and I look forward to having a chance to celebrate your graduation. (We hope we're included in the friends you mentioned!) You and your mom have earned it.
another wise choice ;o)
Good job.. Rethy. We are very proud of you..
It is a pleasure working and goofing around with you.
Happy dance and a woof, Jolanda and sonja
Wow, we are both are passing mile stones. You and your mom make sucha great team, I am sure you can pass the test.....
Brenda and Dora
Thanks you guys! You all help me and Mom in growing and learning and ALL my doggie friends are invited...I have to make the milestone first. Mom says she wants to go down to one of those cool places you have in the bay area, like the marina or the Cesar Chavez park. That's more important to me than the new vest...anything that's a reason to play with my buddies!
Congratulations! We are very happy for you! Will you have someone videotape a public access test or anything? We love seeing other pups taking their PATs.
In our circle of dog people up here, Mom is usually the one with the camera, so that won't work. I think they are going to go over the PAT list, and do some basics the day we have lunch together. The Boss thinks (and Mom agrees) that because there will always be new situations and challenges, my willingness to follow Mom's lead into new environments is as important as learning to deal with ones where I'm experienced. The training we do is often about my critical thinking and problem solving, what they call, "making good decisions." The Boss will probably suggest some things from the PAT and other things I haven't done yet that she thinks will test my confidence and teamwork with Mom. Believe me, she's not going to make it easy.
