We had a HUGE big day. We met up with a bunch of our friends at a place I've never been, the airport. Evidently, Mom hasn't been there in a long time either. She had that anxiety energy going at first. We weren't even going anywhere!
She parked far away and we rode on this funny little bus. I haven't ridden on one of those, but whatever. We hung out with our friends for awhile. That made Mom forget she was in the dreaded airport. Eventually, we walked to an area where Mom took off her shoes and my leash and collar. She put a pretty rainbow ribbon around my neck as a leash so we wouldn't set off any alarms. A man had to look inside Mom's hat and feel under my belly to make sure I wasn't a terrorist. Then we went to hang out with Jolanda, Iris, Ollie, Zeus and my new friend Polar some more. Becker's mom was there, too, but I haven't met Becker yet.
Mom and Jolanda's mom are so silly. They measured us as "carry-ons". Jolanda's mom took pictures. I think I'm "carry on" size, but Jolanda's pushing it.
Finally, we got to go on the plane. Mom and I were the first in. She took me into a row and I crawled under the seat in front of her and lay down. Mom was SO surprised. I don't know why. Where she goes I go, no problem. Everybody else got on the plane, too. The pilot and flight attendants all watched us and made over Zeus (everybody makes over Zeus).
After that, we met our friends again, this time for snacks and coffee. They sat around on a couch and chairs and all us dogs crammed in around a table. Our people yacked some more. You'd think they would have finished all that yacking by then, but no...people like to yack.
On the way home, Mom kept saying "you are SUCH a good girl!" Whaaaa? What's the big deal? Evidently, Mom was surprised that the airport and airplane and shuttle were so easy peasy. At a stop light, she turned around and smiled at me with the good girl thing again. I just said, look Mom, that's what I'm here for...just doing my job.
Tell your mom that she did a fine job, too. You guys are a great team. It was fun hanging out with you (again) ;o)
I still think the cuddling part in the park was pretty darn cool.
Woofs and tail wags, Jolanda and sonja
