It rained off and on all day today. Mom had to go to the store, so I went to work even though I hadn't had my ball chase time. It was all right. I like my job. People watch me when I trot along beside the grocery cart. Mom is proud of me. She doesn't have to look at me or guide me around any more. I stay right with her while she talks to herself about not being able to find the ginger juice.
Then Mom surprised me. The rain had almost stopped when we got done shopping, so Mom took me to the park. Wahooo! She didn't care if I got all wet running in the grass because I was off work for the day.
It was late in the afternoon and cloudy--hard to see. Sometimes my ball goes so far I can't see it land, even on a good day. Mom gives me a head start and then flings my ball with that long stick. When I can't see where it lands, Mom uses voice cues to help me find it. "gooooodgoooodgoodgood" when I'm moving toward the ball and "nyatnyatnyat" when I'm going in the wrong direction. I'm getting good at this but sometimes I just want to run around before I start seriously looking. It feels SO good to run, wet grass and rain or not.
