My Girl

When I first met My Girl was on July 19, 2009. I was waiting for my forever family to pick me up after that long drive from Alabama. She was the first one in my forever family that I saw. I really liked the looks of her. She smelled nice too. My Girl picked me up and cuddled me. My charm completely won her over.

We like to hang out together. Sometimes she will play her guitar for me or read to me. Other times we just hang out and watch television. I really don't care what we do as long as I get attention.

When she reads to me, we sit on her futon in her bedroom. I like to hear the rhythmic sounds of her voice. It relaxes me and soon I doze off, very content.

I love when she plays her acoustic guitar. The sounds are smooth and comforting. I like curling up in the guitar case, but for some reason she doesn't want me there. I don't like that electric one--fingers on a chalk board. I politely leave the room and try to stick my paws in my ears. DOn't like that sound.

When she has her friends over they like to pat me and play. She has had a bunch sleep over night. When they all get together, they are a pretty noisy group. They stay up late chatting. Good thing I can sleep through that!

She has been getting ready for some things that I don't get. Her and my mom went off to get "school supplies." I have no idea what that is but it better not take My Girl away from me. I hate it when family leaves me for a few minutes

1033

Today, I was running errands with my mom and we stopped at the Town Hall. Lots of smells there. I like the creaky wooden floors. Mom went to the Town Clerk/Tax Collector's office. How exciting! Grace (the Deputy Clerk) was absolutely wonderful. She's a dog lover but no longer has one. They have cookies there!!!

Mom gave Grace lots of information about me, then Grace gave Mom a shiny gold star with the number 1033 on it. Am I now a sheriff? a deputy? No, it is my dog license!!

I don't think that I ever had one of those before. Mom told me that I am the 1033rd dog to be licensed in Our Town. The number of dogs is about 20% of Our Town's population. Cool.

All my information is in the Town's database and now I am somebody! I am just like my forever family. Now that I have a license I am no different than any of my dog neighbors. Everything just smells different to me.

I guess I am now an official New Hampshire resident, no longer a Southern gentleman. I don't think that I have ever had anything official before. Too bad that I can't vote

I went to meet my Grammie for the first time. She gets alot of canine visitors so there were lots of smells in her house. Gave me cookies. I guess she is a pretty nice person.

I also met my Aunt Lisa. She has a schnauzer named Milo. Didn't get to meet him yet. Lisa got me all kinds of goodies--knee caps to chew on, and other treats. I really like her. She is a little silly but she treats me nice. They left me at Grammie's for a little while and had lunch. I got to enjoy my knee cap--what a great thing to chew on!!

One thing that I really liked about going to Grammie's house was the car ride. I just love riding in a car. I always like to check out the cars in the driveway and always hope that I can go back in.

I was exhausted when I got home but felt all wound up after meeting some more of the family. Hannah walked me around the block and I got to meet more of my neighbors. What a great place.

After supper I just crashed. I was really dog tired.
