Pet-Peeves: having to come inside when I call her and getting her ears cleaned

Favorite Toy: her kong and bugs bunny stuffed toy

Favorite Food: Old Mother Hubbard biscuits

Favorite Walk: Ft. Ben State Park

Best Tricks: pretending she doesn't have anything in her mouth when she does

Arrival Story: Marina was a puppy in training for Canine Companions for Independence. In May 2005 I turned Marina back in to CCI to begin her advanced training to learn skills that will help someone who has a disability. Unfortunately Marina was not service dog material and was returned to me as MY DOG!!!!

Bio: Even though Marina is not a service dog, she is none the less a fantastic dog. She is more than one could hope for when choosing a pet.

Hey I'm so happy. My mom took me to a real cool place today!! She took me to a GREAT BIG dog house called Canine Companions for Independence. There were doggies everywhere. I even got to meet up w/ one of my siblings Mikah. I haven't seen him in over a year. It was too cool. And I have a new lab friend as my kennel mate. Mom says I'm starting the next phase of my life. I'm going to learn how to help someone be more independent. I'm going to have a job, wow! I don't know why mom was crying the whole time. She knows I'm doing something really important. I guess it takes awhile to get used to the fact that I'm not going to be living w/ her anymore. I'm going to miss her and Oliver alot!

Well, that poor Oliver. He somehow knocked his bowl off of it's stand and now he is afraid to eat. Good for me, cuz if mom isn't paying attention I scarf down his food before she even notices hee hee hee. Even though Ollie is neurotic I love him. Not sure why he is so uptight. I tried to help. I thought if I showed him it was ok to eat his food out of his bowl he would start eating again, but it didn't help. Mom is paying much more attention now, so I'm not sure how many more meals of his I can scarf down.

Wow, I've just finished my second set of obedience classes and man it was fun. I think the best part was getting to eat hot dogs during class. I liked all the new friends I met too. We had a great class. And I won the Peppermint Patty Award! My instructor said I won it because I was always calm under pressure, but my mom said that just means I was the laziest in class-LOL. I loved my instructor DeAnna. She was so friendly, but I liked to keep her on her toes. Whenever the people were trying to teach the dogs a new skill (as if we didn't already know it) I always tried my hardest, but sometimes I was just dog tired. So DeAnna would tell my mom how to get me to do the activity. When it didn't work, DeAnna would try to get me to do. Sometimes I did it, sometimes it didn't, so one day DeAnna called me a BUTTHEAD! Thanks ok, I still love her.
Well, my mom is a little sad these days. She keeps telling me in about a month I'm going to a great place in Ohio to meet a bunch of new doggie friends. In fact, I'll be with some of my siblings again yippee!! I can't wait to see my brothers and sisters again.
