Hey There, Katie here again...
So time continues to go by, I am not complaining I do enjoy my foster home lots, I love my doggie siblings and would love to have a playmate to play with from time to time. But still a girl needs a place of her own right? I think so, I would really hope I can find my forever family out there by Christmas, it would be a great holiday wish come true. That is all I will be asking Santa for this year....Im not sure why I am still here, is it because I am with a boxer rescue and I am not full blooded boxer? Why does that penalize me, its quite sad...I just love everyone I meet and have the excitement and energy of every other boxer out there. I am spunky, full of life, but dont take that wrong I am very very obedient and know MANY things and am always willing to learn more, I am housetrained and am not destructive in the least. I can get excited from time to time but I am well mannered in the home and save most my energy for outside play time. Im still young that is a good thing right? I just can not put my paw on it, I do not know why I have not found my home yet....someone has to be out there for me, is it you? I hope so......

Hey There! I know I was just on stating what a great girl I was, so my foster mom has asked to speak on my behalf hoping you will understand what a great girl I am.
Hi, Katie's foster mom here. I wanted to share that Katie is such a great, loving girl. She is petite, has short hair and a loving personality. She LOVES everyone she meets, we call her the walmart greeter at events because she greets everyone with a big ol smile and tail wag. She enjoys children and if she went to a home with children, older children are best suited as Katie is a Young boxer mix with energy. While she has energy she sure knows how to be a couch potato as well. She is a great house guest, she does not potty inside and has good manners in the house. She plays with her toys only and if crated she does not mind at all, although after an adjustment period and schedule adjustment she is great with free roam in the house. She LOVES LOVES to play with other dogs. She has many fur siblings here and plays well with them all both big and small. The only issue she has is her food/rawhides with other dogs. She is fine with people but does not want other dogs near that could possibly steal her food. Other than that she is great with dogs. She does not mind cats either.She is one smart cookie and learns quickly. She knows many beahviors already. If your looking for a sweet, loving, your girl wiht lots of manners look no further, Katie is your girl.

6-29-09 Katie here, so time is creeping by and I have been in the rescue for 11 months now. I don't quite know why no one has come to take me home to be there little girl. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my foster mom and foster siblings a lot, but I really want a family all my own. So let me brag a little about myself, I am super smart. Probably one of the smartest girls you will meet. I know many things a lot are really easy like sit and down. But I am also great at coming when I am called, stay, wait, walking well on a leash, I go to bed when asked, and will potty on cue. I am all done with all that puppy training stuff, I know to potty outside all the time, I also dont get into anything I shouldn't. I like to chew on toys and know what is mine. I am very loyal and loving to my family, and hope that you understand me, as I came from the shelter and was very much abused prior to ending up at the shelter in which it made me a bit hand shy, especially around the rear. My foster mom has helped me alot to overcome my fears, I no longer cower on the ground when you go to touch me, some may have thought I just wanted my belly rubbed, but I was so nervous of hands I immediately submitted to people in hopes not to be hurt. I do very much love my belly rubbed now though. I use to be very hand shy if someone grabbed around my neck quickly like grabbing my collar. I know longer flinch and am just fine with touch in all senses. I LOVE people to love on me and enjoy getting all kinds of attention. I love going out in public and just getting the oh's and awes from everyone around because I am so sweet. Now mom says that I should ideally live alone even though I get along great with her gang. See I was a bit territorial and possessive with other dogs initially last year. However mom has worked hard to help me overcome this. I know play with toys with the others and dont mind eating with them in the area. I still am not a fan of sharing bones or chew toys with them very much but I am very easily corrected when mom says enough. If you have another dog and are interested in me, mom says we can surely talk about adding me to your family as I do very much love my doggie companions. I just need some rules in place and structure when living with other dogs to know that I am not the one in charge and I do great. If you do not have other dogs and want me that is GREAT! But if we go to the doggy park or you have friends with pooches I would love that very much. So I am here hoping that I sound like the perfect dog for my perfect family. Waiting patiently for them to find me....help me on my journey to my new family....

3-22-09 Hey Katie's foster mom here, just wanted to check in a let everyone know how Katie is excelling. She went to an adoption event in Huntersville last weekend to meet all kinds of new folks at a local petsmart. She LOVED meeting all the new people and other dogs. She loved having all the kids come by to rub her belly. She was such a great girl, minded her manners the whole time and just adored everyone. Everyone commented on how petite she is see she is only in the low 40's. She is Perfect size for an apartment/condo/townhouse pooch. Katie wouldn't mind living in a house with a yard, but would be extremely content and happy living in an apartment/condo or townhouse as well. Everyone also loved her soft velvety coat. Katie is a cuddle bug and so soft to the touch you just cant help but pet her all the time, and she just loves her belly rubbed. Katie enjoyed mingling with all the other dogs even the great danes that towered over her. She had such a blast. If your looking for a super friendly girl, look no further. Katie is very well trained to all basic behaviors including leash walking. She is completely house trained and can be crated with no problems as well(she likes her bed). She is not destructive, and will let you know when someone is around. She is one super find......
2-19-09 Hey Hey, Its Katie again. I am loving life and all it has to offer. I very much enjoy being an indoor doggy(I much rather be inside most of the time and just go out to potty). I am a smart girl and can do pretty much anything you ask me to. I know sit, down, come, stay, wait, ok eat, heel, stop, go potty, kennel up, leave it, quiet, go lay down, and can learn much much more if your willing to teach me. I am one smart cookie. I would love to be your only child and be a spoiled princess, of course knowing my boundaries. Come meet with me soon, I may not be all boxer but I am a pretty, petite, sweet girl.
11-23-08 Katie here, just checking in again. I know the perfect couple, family, or single person is out there for me I just know it. Mom says any day now they will find me and bring me home. Are you them? If so let me tell you a little bit about me, see I ended up in a nasty shelter only to be adopted and given up on yet again. I have been abused in my past but I dont care to go into details about that, I would much prefer to move on from it now and forget about those experiences, my foster mom has done great in helping me to do just that. Whenever I use to get afraid of being hit or spooked all together I use to snap out of reflex to protect myself thats how scared I use to be of things. Now I just love and adore all the attention I get from my mom although I get nervous around the tail area sometimes still I have greatly improved in my social skills. I LOVE LOVE LOVE having my belly rubbed and will lay there forever for you to massage me all day.:) I have a bunch of fur brothers and sisters around here, but I reallly would just love to be the one and only baby around the house, I have had to compete for attention so much in my past I just really want to loved and spoiled all myself, I dont think that is bad of me to want that. I am a perfect lady and never mess in the house and will 'Kennel up' if asked to for any reason, I dont mind being kenneled if needed, I am very calm and quiet. I love walks outside and my foster mom has taught me to walk at her side very nice and calm, squirrels sometimes catch my attention but I do really well with leaving them alone if asked to move on. I love to play with toys, and just love food. Ive been told I have allergies, but my foster mom states she hasnt seen any sign of such so far since I have been with her, she states she has seen dogs with bad allergies and I am no where near that. Some good food and a clean home and I will do just fine. If you have room in your heart to offer me that I would love you forever.
