Species Spectrum puts the grrr in greeting cards by showcasing rescued and sanctuary animals from across — you guessed it! — the species spectrum. Amidst the primates, pigs, parrots, and prairie dogs, you’ll find a posse of pups.

June the Australian Cattle Dog, her tongue wrapped around her face like a pink muffler, says: “Okay, maybe I did eat your cupcake, but I’m still cute.”

There’s an Italian Greyhound named Enzo who contemplates a majestic, mountainous vista and offers this message: “The real mountain is within you.”

And how could anyone resist dancing away with Mungo the mutt, who wears four cowboy boots and sweetly asks, “Two Step with Me?”

The best part is that designer-publisher Jes McKay Gilmore, who has taken pictures at several wildlife sanctuaries and volunteered at various animal shelters, donates 10 percent of her profits to support small nonprofits helping animals. “Even a small amount helps, and if each of us can help one animal, we can change the world,” Jes says. “Many people aren’t aware that a third of dogs in shelters are purebred or just how many of them are waiting. Each of these animals is an individual. My goal is making animal rescue personal.”

Her cool, quirky cards achieve that goal with style to spare. Get ’em here.
