While browsing in the gift shop at the Museum of Arts and Design recently, I came across a handmade, silkscreened card that I was sure would appeal to my Dogster editors, both very stylish gals.

Here's what it looks like:

And here's what it says on the inside (dig the dash of salty wit via a reference to The Wizard of Oz):

The design is by freelance artist Brian Lovenduski, aka B. Love. According to publisher Great Arrow, "With a flair for the funky, a penchant for the playful, and an affinity for the abstract, Brian's designs combine different elements assembled together, synthesizing in digital collage."

In my humble opinion, this card makes an excellent Valentine for the female Dogster in your heart.

But what you can't tell by just looking at it is the way it feels. The card has an impressive heft, like old-school stationery. And the way a card feels in the hand of the giver and receiver is something Great Arrow takes great pride in. To wit:

"If you've ever held a Great Arrow card, you know what makes us different — the color, the texture, the feel of something made by hand ... in the USA! Even though you can't quite experience the essence of Great Arrow through your computer, you can browse your way through more than 900 of our cards right here. You don't even need a special occasion."
