You know winter is just around the corner when temperatures start to drop into that slightly uncomfortable zone and your cravings for coffee and carbs are off the charts. It’s the time of the year when I search for stylish ways to keep my pup and myself feeling warm and looking hot!

Year after year, I find myself reaching for and wrapping up in shearling items. And I get the feeling my dog loves its cozy texture, too.

If you’re looking to add some shearling to your wardrobe (and your pooch’s!), this week’s Dogster Picks are an ultrasoft step in the right direction.

1. Shearling Lined Jacket — I’m a big fan of this open-front goes-with-everything jacket. Day or night, you’ll love how warm it feels.

2. Faux Shearling and Croc Tuck Lock Day Bag — Every woman needs an amazing winter bag, and this one has all of the rich and cozy things you could possibly want. But don’t worry — it only looks expensive.

3. Swing Shearling Vest — Sometimes a little shearling goes a long way, but then again, sometimes more is more! The oversized collar on this vest is completely fabulous.

4. Naughty Monkey Short and Sweet Boots — Platform booties with a touch of shearling are the perfect winter shoes to hit the town in. The shearling lining will keep your feet warm, while the platform heel proves to be surprisingly comfortable.

5. Lumberjack Shearling Jacket — A classic lumberjack jacket never goes out of style. If you’re going to invest in a jacket for your dog, this is the one to choose. He’ll look smart in it forever!

6. Suede Shearling Collar and Lead — You’re going to love the soft shearling feel of this leash in your hand while your dog enjoys his scarf-like shearling collar. It’s the perfect winter set!

7. Juicy Couture Shearling Dog Bed — This ultraplush and comfy bed will keep your dog warm all season long. In fact, you’ll probably have to bribe him with treats to get him to hop out of it.

8. Suede Shearling Coat — The lining on this coat will keep your dog so warm, he’ll be begging to head outside. And again, nothing looks hotter than an oversized collar.

9. Paws Unleashed Classic Shearling Pet Carrier — Planning on toting your teeny pooch around while you do your holiday shopping? Make sure he’s in a well-lined bag like this pet carrier.

10. Shearling Boot Dog Toy — Real shearling boots can be a bit pricey. Make sure your dog stays far away from yours by distracting him with a shearling boot toy of his own.
