Hey Diary,
Wow, can’t believe it’s been another year and that it’s time for The 5TH ANNUAL PAWS-ITIVELY PURR-FECT DAY on SUN, JUNE 9th from 10AM - 3PM at BOYDEN REFUGE, 1298 COHANNET ST,TAUNTON, MA. Here’s a link to the shelter’s website if you want more info. http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/MA72.html

It’s put on by The Friends of the Taunton Animal Care Facility, so please, if you live near by PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THE DATE AND STOP BY TO SUPPORT THEM!

The Mom said that she may have me tested for my Caine Good Citizen this year, whatever that is. I just hope it doesn’t hurt like a rabies or heartworm and Lyme, yuck. For me as always the best part of the whole day is that I get to see my Aunty Nadine again and give her Doggie kisses in person again.

It started back in January and it happened so fast that I wasn't even close to ready for everything that went on. But let me start at the beginning for ya. I had an idea something was up when I overheard Norna and Grump talking about who was going to take me. Well this got my ears tuned in, take me where and with who I ask ya? Then I saw Norn take out the dreaded suitcases, now these things I remember because last time they came out I was stuck at my kissing cousin Drew’s for two weeks while they went away. And I noticed there was a new strange looking suitcase with them. Guess what, in that strange looking one I kept finding treats, and Norna kept throwing all my chews in there. So every once in awhile I kept checking it out, because it was pretty nice inside all pimped out with my favorite blankies and all. Then one night mom packed this thing up and took me and it for a ride to my Aunty Laura's house. At first I didn't recognize the place cause she moved, but once I spotted her dog and kitties I knew whose pad it was. Now while I was looking around I noticed this tiny kitty in a cage. I thought to myself it must be really wild if they have to keep it locked up. Laura called it Moose the gunnies pig, but you can't fool me, though it did smell a little strange. And then it happened, I stuck my nose in the cage for like five minutes and I heard the door open and close. So as I look to see who entered I noticed Norna was gone. Without as much as a pat on the head or a peck on the cheek mind ya. Now don't get me wrong I had a lot of fun at Aunty Laura's and she must have though that I looked a little on the skinny side cause she gave me a whole can of mighty dog every morning instead of just a third like Norna. And I could case those kitties all day and night and never get tired of that game, and having another dog around all day while the people are at work is nice. However I still checked that door a hundred and one times till Norn came back for me. I knew she would but I have to admit to wondering now and then. Then once she came back I hopped into her arm and held on for dear life. There was no way she was sneaking out again on me. I was the happiest doggie in the world that night when I went home with her and Grump, and thank dog she put those dreaded suitcases back in the closet. That reminds me I really need to find a way to lock that thing so I don't go threw that again.

It took awhile for me to settle back in again, and Grump keeps telling Norna that I am broken because I don't grrr him anymore. I guess I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things around here. Heck it took me a couple of days before I even starting scattering my chews around the house. Norna did leave that funny looking one out for me and when I kept looking at it she explained to me that it was a doggie pet carrier that she bought for me. She told me that if I can get use to it that she would take me on the next trip to some place called Florida that she went. I knew she’d miss me. Once you have had some doggie loves it's hard to go without it.......

My crazy mother made me take a tubby last night. And now to add insult to injury, she keeps telling me how nice I smell. I smell like a girlie-girl, all flowery scent, no stink grass, or fire-hydrant musk, or died vermin roll over. All the boy doggies are going to laugh at me. I tell ya this woman just doesn’t get it at all.

And I keep overhearing her talking about some vacation she and Grumppa are taking. Where am I suppose to go I ask you? I want to go and see the grandbabies as well. She better start answering some question for me fast. I telling you I won’t stand for all this nonsense going on. I am going to put a paw down around her.

I so upset, I am going to go take out some anger on my new gerr.

Guess what Diary?

Mom and I got to go on an adventure yesterday. See mom felt bad for me because we don’t get out much anymore, and buy we I think see means me the doggie because her and Grumppa get out just fine during the week without me, but back to my tail. Bol

I heard her tell grump that she was taking me to that Fall River place that she goes to all the time to work. First stop was Kennedy Park to do some shopping at the farmers market there. Boy was there some great wonderful aromas there for a Doggie. What can I say; I’m so short that I can’t resist smelling everything I walk by. And do you know what diary? In the Riv there are so many tiny dogs that I don’t even feel that short at all there. WE came across a lot of them while I helped mom complete her shopping. She got some great deals there on vegetable, and some potted herbs for her garden; so many in fact that she bought us some cut flowers for our kitchen.

After completing our shop, ma and I drove to battleship Cove so I could see the ships there and walk the boardwalk with ma. More great smells, but it was hot by then so we saved walking the whole thing for a cooler day, and drove to Bicentennial Park to see the Iwo Jima monument there and watch a few small boats take off.

From there we shot over the bridge to look for a Doggie friendly beach, to no avail. Boy can I see well from my new car seat, but to tell you the truth, I was asleep pretty quick on the way back home.

Then to top off the day, mom made rice to go under the vegetable goulash that she made for her and grumps. But that meant warm rice over a fresh can of kibble. Yummy stick to your ribs grub, I tell ya. You know what Diary, some days it just pays to be the Doggie.

Hey Diary,

Did you know that my birthday is coming up? It’s in only a few short days, and boy am I ever excited about it. You must know what birthday’s means? No, not the present, however I really need a new Mr. Noodle. Yes I know I just got a new one but he was a wimp. Mom said I set a new record for destroying one, he only survived two days, and a dog would think his mother would be happy about me setting a amazing record; but she did not look happy at all, let me tell you. I sure hope the next one puts up a much worthier fight.

It’s those wonderful birthday pupcakes that mom makes for me every year. This year she is going to make Pup-Peroni chip pupcakes, with the peanut butter and honey glazing. I not sure which is better the aroma of them baking, the look of them with the mouth watering bits of the chips, or the wonderful taste of the pupcake itself. But even the very best part about a pupcake is of course that they are just for Doggie’s, not Grumppa, or mom or boy or girl, just us doggies. They can’t say that terrible, dreadful words that we all fear “no its people food not for doggies” for once it’s in the right order “no it’s doggies food not for people”. Justice at last for us dogs.

Soon to be

Wow Diary,

What a wonderful day it was last Sunday at the 4TH ANNUAL PAWS-ITIVELY PURR-FECT DAY at the BOYDEN REFUGE, held to benefit the Taunton Animal Shelter. It was such a beautiful day all around. This year I even had my old dog club members there so I got to hang out all day with some doggie school mates. One of the members is certified to test for CGC so we were raising money for the shelter mom adopted me from. Mom said I was a very good boy this year, and that I help show people how extraordinary we recycled doggies really are.

I was happy that my beagle chum Bailey was there from last year with his brother. They got adopted by my Auntie Cheryl, and I got to play with him and curl up on my Auntie lap so she’d know I remembered all the walks we took together while I was at the shelter.

My grand girl Jayden even went with us this year, as well. And this was the first year the Sun was out all day. Mom even let me roll around in the grass, and apply a little doggie perfume to attract the girl doggies, and boy were there some lookers there; big and bully, long and lean, and petite and dainty. Not to mention all the kisses I got to give to all the little girls, plus ladies and I used my Doggie charisma on all of them. They were putty in my paw once they fell under my Doggie spell.

It was such a great day all around and I was such a good boy that mom is taking me to Pet Co to get a new Mr. Noddle. What happen to the old Mr. Noodle, (may he RIP) is an entry for another day.

Got to run so I will BAYL

Just So You Know Diary,

I am not talking to my mother right now. Do you know she made me take a tubby yesterday just because I couldn't get Grumppa to vacuum me? I kept on him too, the whole time that he was vacuuming the rugs I was right on his heels to remind him, but you know Grumppa’s just never listen. I knew Mom wasn’t going to be happy and sure enough, even thought he said I kept asking she made me take a tubby just the same. Then after the insult of the bath, see took every blanket to the laundry so I couldn’t reapply my marvelous Doggie Eau de toilette. Thank God I heard her tell him that she would show him how to vacuum me today so he would know for next time. I hope she remember to show him the treat part at the end, it’s my very favorite part of getting my fur vacuumed. Maybe I shouldn’t wait to long to absolve her of her sins.

Think I go hop up on my window and brood over this dilemma for a while.

Till later Diary,

We are hoping the girls will come over this weekend so we can re shoot it. It won't be the same without Cousin Drew as Kendra Wilkinson but it will have to do. She did post the best pic, if you can call it that!

All I have to say this morning is read the fine print Diary, please read the fine print of your sleepover contracts. There was a Bath clause written into mine and Drew’s somewhere. Guess I should have paid more attention during doggie school that will teach me. I love my cousin Drew and all but I not sure I was willing to take a bath for him; I mean I have other cousins?

Hey Diary,

What, a bath during a sleep over. Nobody mention this! And it All cousin Drew’s fault, cause he wouldn’t listen to me. Grump took him out for a walk this morning and he decided to put on a little doggie cologne wile he was outside. I told him not to roll in anything but he wouldn’t listen. So he got a cold tubby outside, followed by a real tubby inside. Told Drew they don’t understand our ideas about good smelling stuff, and Drew picked the smelliest of all smells, doggie dodo. I was barking out loud at him till I noticed mom called me to the kitchen sink. Wait I barked, I didn’t roll in anything… But I got the tubby just the same. So now Drew and I are both sitting here, clean wet, and smell less. If I had known about this I may have canceled the sleep over.

Not happy

Wow it's been a long few days but Friday finally made it and it is now almost time for my sleepover. Mom talked to Drew's mom earlier and Auntie said she was cooking Drew's meals for him. Oh Boy, I hope she made hot dogs and plenty of them to share. Yum, yum. Mom doesn't normally give us Doggies people food but I am hoping she will make an exception since it is a sleepover, and Drew may be missing his family and all. Keeping my paws crossed here.

Wow Diary,

What a great way to brighten up a rainy weekend, a Dogster featured diary. Thanks so much everyone I sure needed something to pick me up. I was a little disappointed between my Boy going away with his favorite cousin for the weekend and the showers falling outside because we couldn’t decorate around here. At least my room got in progress and mom brought up my Skele-grrr up from the Dungun, come to think of it, now I can lounge around with my people all day. It’s starting to sound better and better. Well, think I will take off and remind grump what our timeworn adversary Skele-grrr is for.

Thanks again

It’s been a long day Diary,

Mom wasn’t feeling well today so we both got up really early and ended up seeing boy off to school this morning updating my diary while she waited to get into the bathroom. She left me real early this morning so she could put in an application and run errands around town, without me I may add. Then when she finally pondered back to me I notice she smelt like my cousin Drew, but she still had her head ache so she went right back to sleep before I could ask here what was up. So poor little Colin Doggie had to wait to get all the info from her that I needed. I thought that she just went for a visit without me and I was going to sulk pretty bad so she would feel my disgust at being forgotten at home, but then she gave me and Boy the good news. Are you ready diary, Auntie Donna asked us to babysit Drew for her and Uncle David. He gets to come for two weeks to play with me and the pack. Mom asked Grumps and he said it was fine with him. At last I get to have a sleep over at my house. Boy, or boy are we going to have fun and maybe, if we are lucky mom will grill us some hotdogs if we have good enough weather, though even if it’s not the weather is always fine in my window and it’s big enough for two. Poor Drew though, wait till he see what we get here for food, not that mom doesn’t mix a great “kibble a la supper”, but we don’t get hotdogs every night here like at Aunties. Oh well, I’ve never starved yet, come to think of it nobody ever does here, bmto! ;)

And that wasn’t even the end of my day. Mom and Grumppa went out tonight so I had to babysit Boy for them. And then guess what phenomenon happens, he’s not only nice to me but he even put my Taunton Tiger Football jersey on me so we could hang out together while he was using the web cam. Mom told him that someday he would benefit from the fact that I was a chic magnet. What girl can resist a little Doggie charisma when I turn it on? Turns them to putty in my paw. Grump and Norna laughed and hooted once I greeted them at the door to tell them how well Boy minded me looking equipped for game day, however I didn’t think it was funny at all.

Oh my dog, Look at the time, I’ve got to run and catch up on my sleep, all this typing without thumbs has left me dog-tired.
Sniff ya on the flip side Diary

Good Morning Diary,

Wow, I can not believe that it is fall all ready. Mom was right when she told me the older you get the faster time goes by. It seems like summer just started, and it gone with the wind. Not that I have anything against Fall, because a lot of my most favorite things happen in fall, like Football season starts, Halloween is around the corner so I have my yearly date at Pet-Co’s Costume contest with the sister girlfriends up the street (wonder what I will be this year), and best of all mom starts utilizing the oven again. I tell you there is nothing more superior to lounging in my window sunning myself and having all the wonderful aromas from the oven lure me off to slumber. And now the weather is a lot better for long walks with mom. So I would like to welcome fall in with an extra excited tail wag, and now I am off to christen a few leaves, in the sprite of autumn of course.

Yes Doggies, it’s that day again, Football Sunday. Do your people watch football? My people over here are so addicted to football that they are glued to the TV’s around here. Me, I only like watching the teams in blue uniforms, good thing the Pat’s are the home team, because my eyes are fixed to the set with the rest of the pack here. Mom always makes a great game day meal for Sundays so that means I get really good kibble on Sundays because mom always mixes a little people food in with the doggie kibble. Yum, that woman makes the best kibble ever. And them there’s the popcorn with extra virgin olive oil during the games, my job is to cleanup all the dropped popcorn. Playing vacuum is my most favorite job of all, especially when there’s popcorn involved. Oh Dog, I can’t wait till game time, as for now, I am off to lounge on the couch and be completely adored by Grumppa. Ahh, all’s right with the world around here.

Hey Diary,

Wow, what a week it's been. First it was the uninvited guest, braving the wind to post a local weather report, then tubby after tubby. I tell you mom has no sense of humor about scratching, whatsoever, at all. It’s only Thursday and I have had two baths already this week. Sometime I don’t think she gets what it’s like to be a dog at all. I mean like it wasn’t bad enough I had to take the second tubby but she read I wouldn’t be so itchy if I didn’t use a dryer. I mean really do you have any idea what my fur looks like when I let it do its own thing. Just look at the photos of me with noodle and you will see what I mean. The only bright note was I am a big boy now and don’t wine when Mom turns on the sprayer and the tubs go so much quicker now. Mom was proud of me, wonder if it gets me brownie points? So maybe that why I got to walk to the Farmer Market with mom today.

Oh yea back to the photos that reminded me Boy went back to school this week. Mom got me into a football jersey in his schools colors so I could show, don’t tell anyone but my “Tiger Pride” It’s about time that Boy went back to school, it makes it a lot easier to keep track of him during the school year and he has to stay around home a lot more too. We are having a hard time believing boys getting as big as he is, all ready in high school, what happened to our little guy?

Think I will hop up in my window and muse over with Mr. Noodle about the timeworn old days, when I was still just a young little Doggie…

Hey Diary,

Hey did you guys here, somebody named Irene is coming by. Boy is she slower than I thought because it seems like we have been waiting for days for her to get here. I can never figure out what makes some good guest and others not: they all seem to smell the same way to me. I’m not sure what I think about her yet but it doesn’t sound like the family thinks highly of her, but I keeping an open mind about her. I mean I did get to go outside and roll around in the grass while Mom picked up the yard yesterday; plus then she stayed in with me all night because she was tired and didn’t go out with Grumppa. There’s all ready two points in her favor, and plus she picked boy up a day early as well so she wouldn’t have to leave at all tomorrow.

So all I can say is I’m keeping my paws crossed over here that Irene won’t be so scary in person. Hope all are safe on the East Coast.

Till next time Diary

Hey Diary,

Man, sometimes my mom can be so heartless, like yesterday when my Auntie Laura came to pick up our god-boy Zack. I was wagging from head to toe because she came up to say hi to me and adore the Doggie, as she should. And out of the blue I hear those dreaded words, “can you trim Doggie nails for me while your here”? What was I to do; I was trapped on her lap. Oh the shame of it all, Grumps tried to help me but those heartless women both told him to hush and they continued to torture me. Then as if that wasn’t insulting enough, mom made me sit still so she could file them down after, right in front of Grumppa. Nothing like snatching my manhood out from under me, how is he going to take me serous now during our grrr sessions? She may as well have painted them pink on me.

Hey Diary,

Things are pretty quiet around here this weekend because for once Jayden didn’t come for a sleep over. At least my boy came home this week, and it is certainly good to have him home again because I don’t get stuck home alone when Norna goes out with grumps with boy to lounge with. I think he might be sick or something however because he’s been overly nice to me since he got home. I am going to have to talk to Norna about maybe worming him to be on the safe side. You never know and I would hate to catch anything off him. Its bad enough that I on mom’s dodo list from the walk earlier, I don’t need to get sick too.

What, why am I on the dodo list you ask? After my walk lately mom has been letting me run around in the yard to blow off steam, and I usably turn right around when she calls me, but I hadn’t been out for a few days and the girl downstairs threw some food out for the squirrels, and I guess I didn’t pay attention to mom when she called me. I heard her tell Grump that I lost my yard rights for a few days. Well golly, how was I suppose to resist going to peek at what was out there. It’s not like I ran off or anything. Oh well, maybe if I turn on the Doggie charm I can win her over.

Well got to run and start doing a little kissing up to get on Mom’s good side again.

Till next time diary

Good Evening Diary,

I was just hanging out on my mom lap so I thought I would take the time to update you. No too much new has been happening here, but it is very nice to be lounging around home doing nothing with my family again. Grump thinks I miss all the animals from Auntie Donna’s house; but I will take a quiet evening at home over a sleepover at Auntie anytime. I do so miss the grub there, I keep telling mommy that I am wasting away to nothing here but she doesn’t believe me. She always was a hard one to fool, hum, maybe I will work a little harder on Grumppa, he’s a lot easier to put under my Doggie spell.

Hope you all still have your paws crossed for me, I find out in a few days if I am a finalist in the contest I entered. I hope so. I know the shelter could use the money it would bring them, so keep pulling for me guys. Well I’m off to see if I can hit Grumps up for some treats.

Wow, thanks everyone for making me a diary pick today! It’s nice to know that all my loyal fans have not forgotten me while I was unable to post.

Things are starting to return to normal around here, my grand-girl Jay came over for a sleepover this weekend and I have my god-boy Zack over now for me to grrr; and I have already entered a contest to try and win some money for the shelter mom found me at. They are going to announce the finalist on August 5 so keep your paws crossed for me. I would so love to win some money for the Taunton Animal Shelter to help them out.

Speaking of the shelter, they are having a benefit on WED, AUGUST 17th from 11am - 11pm; Chili's Restaurant (500 South St W, Raynham, Mass) will be sponsoring a "Give Back Night" to benefit the Friends of the Taunton Animal Care Facility. 10% of your bill (Dine in and/or To Go) will be donated to the Friends of the Taunton Animal Care Facility. Flyers will be available at the Taunton Animal Care Facility, Robin's Corner Flower Shop, Leahy's Liquors, Ventura Grain, and Raynham Town Hall PLEASE bring the flyers to Chili's if you go! If you want to go and can’t pick up a flyer drop me your email address in a Dogster mail and I will send the flyer to your email.

Well that’s it for now, time to chase my god-boy till he squeals like a girl; life is good at home when you’re the Doggie!

At last Diary,

After a long wait mom has returned and I am back home where I belong. I have been home since Saturday but this is the first chance I have had to update my diary. In case you did not know I was staying at my Auntie Donna’s for a couple of weeks while mom and her boys ran off to some Dog forsaking land to visit with our grandbabies, and as usual I got the short end of the stick, (being only about 6 inches or so tall I am kind of use to the short ends of things). But things are back to normal now, or almost normal because boy was only back for about a day and a half before he left me for my cousin’s Dunkin and Wills house. Oh well at least I still have mom and Grumppa to play with. I am still not exactly back to myself yet. Mom thinks it because I am afraid I will be banished to Auntie’s house again if I do something wrong here.

Auntie house was really an interesting place, and she had all sorts of people and animals there. I got to play with my cousin Drew, well okay, so I bullied my cousin Drew, and then almost got swallowed by a Dane mix, good thing I tasted so sour because he spit me out. I also got to use my Shrunken Boarder Collie skills on the baby goats there. I only jumped out of my pen once and it was just to talk with the goats, wanted to see if I could use the bar ram u line on them from the movie “Babe” to see if it really worked. Auntie Donna caught me however before I had a chance to test it fully. And the grub there was the best, no dry kibble for me, can kibble in the morning and a hotdog or two at night. I was trying to drown my unhappiness in food. If only I could get mom to let me eat that stuff here I would be the happiest doggie alive!

Well that’s it for now Diary, I off to sun myself in my window, like Dorothy said, THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!!!

I don't no whats up but their is something going on and I can not put my paw on it. Mom keep pulling out these huge black rectangle things and putting cloths inside them, but I don't see any Doggie stuff in there, and then yesterday we went over my cousin Drew's house and mom drop off a bag of my kibble, can kibble, wee wee pads, my old Dog crate, and my best friend Mr Noodle. And she left him there. I was so upset that I didn't even play with Grumppa when he got home from work. How could I grrr Grumps when I was so concerned for Mr Noodle. I hope Drew doesn't chew him up or anything, I have heard tails about some of his stuffed animal and it would not be pretty for Noodle. She said we are going over today again, and I am going to put my paw down and demand that he come home with us. I love my cousin and all but giving him Mr Noodle is out of the question!

Well I'm off to skulk some more and make mom feel guilty.

If you asked my Mom she would tell you that I am the best kind, but I think she is a little prejudice about me. BOL

Wow, what a great birthday I had. Mom and Jayden even through me a birthday party and my Auntie Donna and favorite cousin Drew came to the party too. Mom and my girl made the best pup-cakes ever this year, plus mom grilled Drew and me a hotdog to go along with the pupcakes. I was hoping that my girlfriends from up the street would come, but they had been camping with their mom and came home too late but we shared a couple of pup-cakes with them after the party. Maybe we can get Drew to go on a double date with us to the beach this summer, them he can keep Lily company and I can stroll the beach having Daisy alone at last!

Just killing time waiting for my grand girl Jay to show up, so thought I would pen an entry. I think mom read my last post because she started throwing together a portfolio book for me. Can’t wait to see it in print! I hope that’s not all she gets me for my birthday. This is going to be my Third birthday at my forever home so I will be a wise old doggie of four. Every year she makes these pupcakes and they are just for Doggie pupcakes too! And I love hearing mom tell everyone they can’t it them cause they are mine and my friends only. They get better and better every year too, like last year she added peanut butter frosting! Yum, yum birthdays are always scrumptious here. Wow time flies here at my forever home.

Well got to run I off to a cookout for my cousin Babydolls birthday with the crew and there’s lawns to be watered first around here.

That’s it diary, I am afraid I am going to have to fire my mother as my PR Man. I know I love the woman but she just can not seem to keep up with the high demands of the position. This is the second time now that I was made diary of the day, and again she drop the ball, and I find out about it a day late. Just like I was in the local paper the Taunton Daily Gazette last Friday with her but did anyone see a post about it on Dogster, no they did not. I know it wasn’t her best photo but I looked as fetching as ever in it.
The article was all about the ANNUAL PAWS-ITIVELY PURR-FECT DAY that we attended, and mom and I was the caption photo for the article on the front page and everything. How am I going to become a super star if she fails to promote! And tomorrow we find out if Grumppa and I made the finalist on the Mighty dog Big Guy Small Dog Contest.

http://www.mightydog.com/bigguysmalldog/contestants/

We are on page 7 of 14 right now or just search for Jim W and Colin Doggie and you can read our essay. Yep we all have our paws crossed here that we make it to the 30 finalists selected by their panel of judges. It could be like an early birthday present for me. It is this Sunday you know. My Grandgirl Jayden is coming over this weekend to help mom make the pup cakes for me and my Doggie friends, and attend my party. Oh boy I can not wait. Maybe mom will fill my sandbox for Jay and me. Oops got to run, Grumps leaving for work and I have to bestow doggie kisses on him to hole him over for the day.

Thanks again for making me a top Diary pick,

Thing are looking up for today, the sun decided to show up for my mothers birthday, and what a wonderful surprise it was this morning for us. I think mom has a day outside planned for us. I just hope it starts with a wee bit of a walk; there are a few bushes I want to reintroduce muttself too.

Boy did mom and I have a splendid time Sunday when we attended The 3rd ANNUAL PAWS-ITIVELY PURR-FECT DAY. I know the weather was not the best, but us doggie people are not scared off by a few little rain drops. Mom and I were happy to see that so many other people braved the weather to come out and support the shelter as well. Mom even bought me some great tasting homemade Doggie Cookies and boy were they exceptional! I was so incredibly happy that I got to see all of my friends that use to take such excellent care of me from the Taunton Animal Shelter and finally getting to lavish them with tons of Doggie kisses in person. Not only did I get to see my old friends from the shelter but I made lots of new doggie friends as well. My Auntie Nadine emailed me some picture from Sunday and mom posted the one of me and my new friend Bailey, another great used dog that found his forever home because of all the love and hard work that all of the wonderful people at the shelter put in. He and his brother, (another beagle) was also found abandoned on the streets of Taunton, and though it saddens me to hear of tales like Bailey and so many others; it is good to know that there are so many kindhearted people that take great little doggies like us into not only their homes, but into their hearts as well to show us the love that we so deserve. So please, if you are looking for a new pet, or maybe you’re just like mine and Bailey’s mom and have the room at home and in your heart to welcome a new furry member into you’re family. The rewards are so worth the little extra time it may take for us to learn the rules, and you will end up with the most loyal little furry family member ever!

Good Morning diary,

It seems like I have been waiting forever for this day to get here. I know it does not look like a great day outside but we are going to go to the benefit anyways. I will just have to have mom put my rain coat on for me that’s all. I hope that I see all of my Dogster friends there that live around here, because not only will it be a ton of fun, but the money raised helps the Taunton Animal Shelter care for all the doggie and kitties they have till they can find forever homes. I would never have met my mom if it wasn’t for them. So please if you can grab your raincoat and come lend a helping paw for a great cause!

“The 3rd ANNUAL PAWS-ITIVELY PURR-FECT DAY” is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Boyden Refuge, Cohannet St., in Taunton MA. There are going to be rescue groups, crafters, doggie therapy, animal related businesses a raffle tablethat my Auntie Nadine said is loaded with great stuff for dogs and cats and their people, that great smelling “not for doggie” food for our people, and groomers too.

And always remember you can’t beat a used doggie!

Good Morning diary

Why mother nature, why must you be so cruel to me? Can somebody tell a poor little doggie why it will be nice all week long and they have showers listed for Sunday? We were all hoping for a beautiful day for the “3rd ANNUAL PAWS-ITIVELY PURR-FECT DAY”. It is just not fair because we had to deal with bad weather last year too. I know that all my friends from the Taunton Animal Shelter all work incredibly hard putting this together. Well I guess I am just going to have to start doing a dance in honor of the sun for Sunday. Think mom will mind if I take her duster apart to make an Indian headdress for the ceremonial dance? Wonder where she keeps the glue? Well I ‘m off; keep your paws crossed for good weather!

And remember only 4 more days till the “3rd ANNUAL PAWS-ITIVELY PURR-FECT DAY” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Boyden Refuge, Cohannet St., in Taunton MA.
Good Morning diary,

Maybe I should offer to help mom dig again outside. Because it looks like it is going to be a wonderful day outside again today. I heard the lawn mower last night, and mom maid sure my pen got cut so I can hang out in my pen all day. If I am lucky mom will fill my sand box for me to dig: and I know I have an old pig’s ear that is crying out to be buried. Fantastic an afternoon digging in the sun sounds like fun to Doggie.

I thought that mom was teasing me today, and I wasn’t even laughing. Remember I told you yesterday that mom and I were suppose to go outside do some gardening but mom’s allergies kick in. Well this morning she started a pot roast to free up her afternoon for us to work outside, well she works I manly just dig; but anyways she was just getting ready to put on my leash and head out with me when boy called from school. It’s just never good when boy calls from school and this time was sure no exception. So much for a lazy afternoon spent with mom. “Okay” she tells him, “I will pick you up”; and two hours later he hobbles up with two extra peculiar looking metal limbs. Since it was just a sprain Mom didn’t baby him, tucked him into his bed with his homework, and outside we went that’s why I love that woman. I should have known that she wouldn’t let me down.

She wanted something that Jayden and she could grow together so she dug up her strawberry plants from her back bed and transplanted them flowing pots on the porch Well manly Jayden and I could help her eat more than tend them. Yum I love eating strawberries. Plus she added a few flowers around in her beds to color the place a little around our porch. I offered to dig all the holes for her of course, me being such a gentleman. Did I mention that I liked to dig an dig and dig oops, sorry got carried away. Too bad I didn't have a bone to bury, would have made the afternoon perfect.

Remember only 6 more days till Taunton Animal Shelteris has its “3rd ANNUAL PAWS-ITIVELY PURR-FECT DAY” at Boyden Refuge in Taunton from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Boyden Refuge, Cohannet St., in Taunton MA.The link to the shelter in case you want a little more detail about the fundraiser, and always remember you can’t beat a used doggie!

Okay, would somebody explain to me why on my days off the birds are up bright and early tracking and stalking down every bug and worm around my abode, but during the week when I have to get up to get my boy off to school you don’t hear a peep out of them. I have half a mind to go outside and start howling at the top of my doggie lungs to get them back. Lucky for the birdies that I noticed that grumps was still in bed sleeping this morning so I will choose to be the bigger dog and just let sleeping birds be and hop back in bed with Grumppa.

I need to rest up so I can go outside with mom later and help her plant some flowers that she picked up yesterday. The poor girl wanted to do it yesterday but her allergy were kicking in and she ended up with a dreadful headache and she slept most of the afternoon to try and get rid of it. I of course spent the whole time guarding her so nobody would bother her, and to lavish her with therapeutic doggie kisses to help in her healing. I extreme dislike when her allergies kick in because she start getting it in her head that it’s my manly aroma that gets to her and then starts talking about “bath time for Doggie”. Just not fair, you don’t see me giving her a bath every time I feel under the weather. Oh well, just one of those crosses I have to bear being a domesticated doggie I guess.

At least I will look delightful for Auntie Nadine when I see her this Sunday. I can not wait to see her and give her Doggie kisses in person. It’s only 6 more days to the 3rd ANNUAL PAWS-ITIVELY PURR-FECT DAY” held at Boyden Refuge in Taunton, Ma. Hope to see all my followers there this year so the shelter can raise tons and tons of money to help other used doggie and kitties till they find their forever homes!

What a beautiful week it has been here, the sun has been out all week long and we even fit in a cookout for the Memorial Day Weekend. Mom even invited my favorite cousins Drew the beagle so I could have somebody to play with while the people were all doing their thing. Guess what, my mom even gave us people food at the cookout. She let us have a piece of a chicken patty, a beef hotdog, and a big piece of carrot cake to share. Yum, yum, yum! Let me tell you mom and my grandbaby Jayden can cook better than anybody I know paws down.

And next week mom and I are going to the 3rd ANNUAL PAWS-ITIVELY PURR-FECT DAY” at Boyden Refuge so I can visit with my Auntie Nadine from the Taunton Shelter where mom found me. It’s going to be so much fun, I can hardly wait. Boy is it going to be a long week waiting for that. Well that’s it for now diary, the suns out and I want to go to my window and work on my sunning myself.

Oh boy did I have a good time visiting with my Grandmother today. Let me tell you that women can give a doggie a belly rub and she scratches behind the ears like no tomorrow. The poor sweet woman isn’t even owned by a dog, just lives with a silly kitty! No wonder she enjoyed me so much; she must have been starved for attention. I loaded her up with so many tail wags and Doggie kisses that she should be okay till she sees me again. I’m a whole lot of doggie in a little package.

Speaking of being a whole lot of doggie, mom and I entered the photo contest that Dogster has going on Facebook. Did you guy’s hear about it? Check it out I will drop the link at the bottom of this post. Even if you don’t enter maybe you could vote for mom and me while you are there. We could sure use the help.

Good Morning diary, wow I can not believe it has been an entire week without me dropping a line to you. I tell you that mom of mine is really slacking! I been telling her that I had to get on line and revise my diary but she just kept telling me she was busy and that I would have to do it later. Maybe I should ask her for a Notebook for my birthday next month, then I wouldn’t have to ask to be let me on the computer and I could keep everyone up to date on the chronic tale of Colin Doggie.

I don’t know about where you live, but they say it is going to rain all week long here; that means a very long boring week for the Doggie. Mom never take me for walks in the rain anymore, though I don’t know why, I don’t mind the rain at all. Perhaps if I promise to wear my raincoat I can talk her into it. I mean a dog needs his exercise, doesn’t he? She the one that’s always telling me that I am getting a little bulky; and I would much rather take a long walk than cut back on my kibble and Doggie treats.

Speaking of exercise, that reminds me why I wanted to hop on line and pen an entry in my journal. Next month, in my hometown the Taunton Animal Shelter, (where mom and I met), is having its “3rd ANNUAL PAWS-ITIVELY PURR-FECT DAY” at Boyden Refuge from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Boyden Refuge, 1298 Cohannet St., in Taunton MA. There are going to be rescue groups, crafters, doggie therapy, animal related businesses, a raffle table, that great smelling “not for doggie” food for our people, and oh yea, mom wanted me to mention that there would be groomers too, not that groomers sound like much fun to me.

They also have some great trails there so we dogs can take our people for a walk. Mom and I went last year and it was tons of tail wagging fun. I love to see my all of my aunties from the shelter who took such good care of me till mom adopted me. Mom and I are going again this year and we would love to see all of my loyal following there as well. So if you live around our area make sure to mark the date on your doggie agenda, so you don’t forget, and I can give you tail wags and doggie kisses in person. Well that’s it for now diary; I have to get in a little lap time before mom leaves for school. I will post the link to the shelter in case you want a little more detail about the fundraiser, and always remember you can’t beat a used doggie!

I don't know how I am going to be able to keep all my loyal readers up to date, mom's computer died on her yesterday. That what she gets for all that planning and conspiring that they did on me yesterday; I was right they were up to no good yesterday. The minute my girl got here, they all took off and left me home alone all afternoon. It was all so unfair. It hasn't been a good weekend to be the Doggie at all; because tonight ma was so busy rushing to take Jay home, that she forgot to feed me before she left; and she didn't even notice till after 8 o'clock, and that’s 3 hours late.

Why a dog could waste away to nothing around here. They better make this up to me or else I am going to go on strike. No doggie kisses, no tail wags and definitely no grrring feet till things shape up. I will try to keep up with my post but it is going to be hard with me having to use a laptop instead of what I'm used to. Once again I have to point out it isn’t easy being the Doggie around here.

Iâm telling you Diary, my people are up to no good around here. The day started off good enough be ...

I’m telling you Diary, my people are up to no good around here. The day started off good enough because it a Saturday so everyone is home, and I know that mom is planning on taking my grand-girl for the weekend. That always results in some needed exercise and extra clean up duty; which is a plus because ever since mom put me on the scale and saw that I was up to ten pound she’s been extra rigid about the no people food for the dog ridiculous rule. Where is it written in stone that a Chihuahua has to be less than ten pounds I ask? That’s right, nowhere but the ludicrous breed standard that’s all; which should not even count because I am a Chihuahua mix; I could be half Great Dane for all she knows and I am sure they are over ten pounds.

But back to the subject of the enormous conspiracy around here, like I was saying everyone is home so I got to sleep late with Grumppa and have a few good gerrr sessions with him. Plus the sun is out so I can laze around and sunbathe in my kitchen window, which is what I was doing when I noticed that mom got dressed, sign number one, but I could dismiss that because she might have to pick Jay up which equals a ride in the car for Doggie. However Boy and Grumppa also started moving around a lot, and then Boy hopped in the shower, a sure sign that they are planning on going somewhere. Of course I soared off my sunny perch to stand in front of my leash and collar to make things easier on mom but she downright ignored me, and believe me I am not that easy to overlook! Well okay, being only about six inches or so, you might think that was the case but what I lack in size, I make up for in relentless determination.

I’m telling you something’s up, I can feel it, it may be hard to put my paws on it but I will figure it out. I’ll let you know what happens, Diary.

Now I know why they are called mystical creatures, I mean, how else could he have slinked in, me being on my Doggie guard and all. Mom and I were here all night too; because she was the prepping for our Easter Dinner so she wouldn’t have so much to cook and clean up today and we could nap off our feast together; so he couldn’t have tiptoed in then. After that I was watching very, very, closely from my garrison, between moms legs under the blanket, so there’s no way he bounce in past me then. Yet one way or another, by some means he managed to come anyway. What can I call it, paranormal, enchantment, or magic; there the only things that could explain it! That’s my story and I am sticking to it!

Though, now I see why mom lets him dance his way through the place, because I guess while he was waltzing by he dropped a few of the basket’s he was juggling around or maybe he is performing some kind of ceremonial dance, maybe a “stay away rain dance”, because one by one as my household awoke, they each grabbed a dropped basket and started digging in as if to finish the ceremony. Both Grumps and boy were deep into their offering when I notice some pup-ironies in Grumps bounty, so I being a clever little Doggie danced over to complete my part of the ritual, by eating a stick and running off with my Doggie biscotti. So far it’s worked too because even thought they said rain my window has been open all day and it is beautiful outside.

What a great day diary, cookies, chews, a great bow; of Easter Dinner Kibble, and a nap with my family. What more could a recycled doggie ask for. That’s everything for now diary; I hear my window beckoning….

Diary, did you hear that I made diary of the day pick again! I cannot believe how kind everyone is at Dogster. Mom said that she was going to have to get a bigger scrap book for me, cause I was getting so pup-ular. I think she just wants the room for extra Doggie pictures, being that I am so photogenic and all. Speaking of picture, mom just got done uploading my new Easter Pictures to my Dogster site. Really, she put up a few of them so everyone could see all the hard work I put into one of my photo shoots. The things I have to do to earn a liver treat of two around here. At least it was a Saturday and those rotten creatures are hibernating till Monday. At last a little shut eye. I have to keep on my paws tonight if I am going to guard against this Hip-Hop character tonight. A doggie’s job is never done!

Do you know this guy named Murphy, and where are all these outlandish individuals emerging from? This morning, I heard mom say it was this Murphy’s gent‘s fault that the monsters where bellowing and jigging outside her bedroom window at seven o’clock this morning. At least that’s what she disclosed to Boy when he complained about me springing all over his head and chest to bark a high pitch warning to him of the approaching beast. At least my woofing worked, because they were only out there for about 15 minutes, just long enough to awake the whole household during spring break from school, and then go perfectly quiet. It a good thing she has a doggie alarm around here or else mom would have them here sipping coffee around the kitchen table with the three musketeers. When will she ever learn?

Well I am off to take a nap so I can look my best for later. Mom wants to take Easter pictures of me and boy and I have to refresh for our headshots.

Okay I am starting to think that they will never finish up working on the road by my house. The sun decided to grace us with its presence this morning and I was hoping we could go outside and toil on my enclosure to get it spruced up for spring; but mom said it was way to dusty and noisy in the street for us to hang around outside. She opened up my bedroom window, but it is not as delightful as the real thing. I wonder if it would help if I write my local officials and complain about all the deafening commotion. I bet it wouldn’t take that long if it was his Doggie being deprived of a beautiful spring days. Why I haven’t even taken a walk in days because of the giant cavities their making out there. Good thing my god-boy was over so I could at least take my mind of it by chasing him till he squealed; now that’s a clatter that I can listen to over and over and over. I wonder if I could get a copy on cd so we could listen to it on long rides in the car on Mom’s stereo. Think I will go ask her.

I tell you diary, I am not sure how much more I can take from those noisy beast outside. It was bad enough when they were working at the end of the road, but now they are right in front of my abode and the whole place trembles and shakes all day while they are laboring out there. I hope that they finish soon so I can get back into my usual routine around here, because struggling to survive on a mere 12 hours of sleep a day is not cutting it at all. How am I going to concentrate on my grrring if I am not totally revitalized? Grump so looks forward to our grrr sessions that I would so hate to disappoint him. Also, tomorrow my god-boy is coming over and I need to be on the top of my game so I can keep that boy in line around here. It’s not easy being Colin Doggie let me tell you!

Speaking of visitors, have you heard of this bloke called Peter Rabbit? I heard mom tell Grumps last night that he was coming this Sunday. I mean first she lets that old fat cookie bandit wearing the red suit in the house, and now she is going to allow a peculiar creature to hop on through her house. Good think I am up to date on my vaccinations, because god knows what I could catch off him. I keep telling her to get another lock for the door but she won’t listen to me, and someday she will be sorry.

Good Morning Diary, it’s another beautiful start to our morning here in New England. Mom just got a phone call and that means that my grand-girl Jayden, is coming over to our house for a sleep over, and I cannot wait. We haven’t seen her in a couple of weekends, and I could use a little workout from chasing her throughout the house. See, I am trying to get back into bandana shape for our summer treks to the beach, have got to stay in shape for the girls you know. Speaking of workouts, I’ve got to run and do a few limbering up stretches before she gets here, I have to stay in top shape for our slumber party, no way I am going to let the pintsized lassie get the best of me!

I tell you, New England has no sense of humor at all. I recognized I went too far with that post that spring has finally come to New England; but I clearly said “ALMOST”! Today is nice enough nevertheless yesterday was a wet drizzly mess, which threw a hitch in any outdoor plans. At least the torrent rain kept those boisterous yellow dinosaurs away from our place and I could catch a nice, long-drawn-out nap without being disrupted. It enabled me to awake reinvigorated and put 110% into my grrr, good thing too, since Grumppa came back to the ranch at a fairly decent hour for a change. So I was honored with a full grrr session in the bedroom with Grumps, just us boys you know. Mom calls it my Grumppa time, then mumbles something under her breath about it being a boy thing.

Moms, who can figure them! Talking about mom’s that reminds me why I am writing today diary, we finally got to see Lily today. Mom and I were just starting a walk when we saw her mom, Pam in their yard. She brought Lily down so I could give her some kisses, sniffs and tail wags; and I was very happy to see her doing so well. She is such a pretty little dog that once her stiches heal she will be a thing of beauty once again, even with only one eye. She seemed a lot happier than she had been before the operation too, so we were glad for her. Mom said we could break into the flower cookies next time we frolic together. Maybe we can invite her sister Daisy as well, just to be polite of course!

Well I have to run along now dairy, mom’s making suga and I want to make sure that I get suga-flavored kibble tonight. I’ve been a really good boy today, and didn’t even put up a fight when mom vacuumed me today. Mom tells me it cuts out the middleman to simply vacuum me instead of the furnishings, just what we needed around here another unemployed worker…

Boy was yesterday a beautiful day here! Norna and Grumppa were outside yesterday, working on our cars, so I got to hang out in my dog enclosure for a couple hours. Boy did it feel good to roll around in the grass, and snooze with my chum, Ray, face to face on the porch for a bit. It looks like mom has been doing a bit of work in my corral, and she still plans on extending it a little so we would have room for Jayden to hang out with us this summer. Oh boy it’s going to be so much fun, and I know that the new addition is going to rock. Now if I just put on my cutest “Doggie Face” maybe I can talk her into a sandbox instead of a pool, then I would be a happy dog.

It looks like it is going to be another nice day here, and I am almost brave enough to say that spring has finally come to New England. Almost! The last few days here have been really nice and sunny, so mom and I are hoping that it will stay this way for a while. Why the other day was so nice mom and I took a long walk to go visit my friends Lily’s mom at her work. Mom had not heard from her since the surgery and we were starting to get a slightly worried about little Lily. Her mom said that the first few days were kind of ruff on her but that after two or three days she started to feel a bit fitter, and was getting better and better every day. Lily’s mom said that if it stayed nice out this weekend she would bring her over so we could play together for a bit. See Lily does not like the fact that her sister, my girlfriend Daisy, moved out with her mother to their new house. I can not say that I was to found of the idea either because now I only get to see Daisy every few months or so instead of almost every day like before; however I am being a benevolent gentle-doggie and am trying my best to take care of Daisy’s little sister for her, and subsequently Lily and I have become closer since Daisy departed.

So yesterday after mom took me to Pet-Co to have my heartworm test done and get my yearly supply of heartworm chewy so I wouldn’t run out. And yes, you heard me right; those sneaky, sneaky, people hid a vet there at the store too. What is the world coming too when you cannot even go to your favorite rawhide bar to get a little takeout for a sick friend without first being deceived by mother. I am sure I will be discussing this later on in life someday, as I am sprawling on the cough at my Doggie Shrink’s office. “So tell me Doggie, how did it make you feel when the Vet jump out of the rawhide bar at you”? Anyways, back to my story… Mom said I was a great little doggie during the whole tribulation, because I didn’t let out one bark the whole time we were inline and we had to wait over an hour and a half to get to the torcher camber. Guess what was inline two dogs ahead of us? One of those infamous Min-Pin’s that mom had before I adopted her. This one was only a baby, about 9 months old so she was still very good-natured, and I thought she was innocent enough looking for all the war stories I get about Pretty Pran. However mom and her owner did share a knowing look when Mom mentioned that Min-Pins were a little too smart, what ever that means. And two dogs behind me their was a scared Pit Bull that wouldn’t stop winning the hole time she was in line. Mom said the bigger the dog the bigger the baby they are. Finally I heard them call my name to see the Vet, and Mom and the vet tech held me while the vet drew blood for my test. He had a hard time finding one of my little veins, so it took awhile before he could draw the blood, but I took it like a Big Boy, and did not have to be muzzled cause I did not even tried to bite anyone. I know I love my heartworm chews, but if I had remembered what I had to go through, I would have gladly given them up.

Oh yea, back on subject, I picked out some fine cookies for my play date with Lily. I got us yummy teddy cookies, some bright vibrant flowers and biscotti for her and me to share together. It was all I could do to keep my paws out of the bag, and not eat them all. Now I just have to get after mom to get the yard ready so she doesn’t hurt herself while we are playing outside. Come to think of it think I will go jump on her legs to remind her.....

So Mommy and I went to the pet store yesterday so we could get a gift for Little Lily. I think we found the perfect gift for her, we pick out a stuffed flower for her that is nice and bright, and it is big enough that she can use it for a pillow till she feels good enough to play with it. Mom also bought her some really yummy treats for when she is feeling better, and I sampled them just to make sure they tasted as good as they sounded, how can you go wrong with peanut butter and banana flavor I ask you? I think they are good enough for her but I may have to test a few more just to make sure. We are going to walk down to her house a little latter this morning and check on her and drop off her gift. I wish she was feeling better so we could make puppy angles in the snow, and no it’s not an April Fools Joke, there really is snow here in New England. Mother Nature played the best April Fools prank yet. Bol
I let you know how Lily is fairing when we get back…

I am so worried Diary, my girlfriend Daisy’s little sister from up the street has to go in for surgery today. I overheard mom talking with Lily’s mom the other day over the phone and I heard mom say that she has to have her eye removed. Wow, I cannot believe how horrible that sounds. Poor little Lily has been sick for almost a year now and her mom has tried everything to fix the eye, but her vet thinks it is time to remove it while her other eye is still unharmed. He is afraid if they wait any longer it may spread to her good eye as well. Her sister, the love of my life does not live up the street with her anymore; and I know that my love, Daisy would want me to be a Gentle-doggie so therefore I will look in and take care of Lilly for her. Mom and I are going to the pet store later, and I don’t even want to hit the rawhide bar, I just want to find a nice gift for Lily to help her feel a little better.

Poor, poor Lily, if you could please keep Lily in your thoughts and prayers today so she comes through all this without too much pain, and finally starts to heal and feel better and start running around and playing again. The poor little thing has been sick for almost a year with this, and that’s a long time to be in pain. Thank you all for your help, and I will keep you updated.

You know diary some days while I am sunning myself just lounging around; basking with my best pal Ray in my bedroom window I start to ponder. If a doggie barks a diary tail and no one is there to hear him, did he really write a verse? I wonder sometime if anyone reads along with my Doggie adventures, or am I just barking to myself? And if you do, who are you and where are you now? Are you near or are you far? Would you be young and small or could you be old and tall. Maybe you could be a father or maybe a mother. Are you plucky when you holler or do you just let out a wimpy mutter?

So whoever you are one and all, could you, would you just write me a verse in my guestbook, so I know somebody hears little old Under-Doggies tails of a life saved from the streets. So pretty please tail wagging, with face kiss on top could you please sign a curios doggies guestbook to help clam his wondering mind. Bark at you next time.

Okay let me start this by saying I am still not too ecstatic with my mother. The audacity of that woman I tell you. Not only did I have to suffer the great injustice of a tubby; but then to add insult to injury, she had to blow dry my fur. I new we should have skipped the whole thing, or at the least wait in till summer so I could just sun dry in window , after all I am the green Doggie, being a recycled dog and all.

I am going to have to find a much better spot to hide from her today. See today is almost as bad as tubby day because she is going to want to put my frontline on today. Yuk! I cannot even begin to describe how much that drives me crazy. There is going to be a bald spot in the carpet today that’s for sure. Maybe my grand-girl will keep her distracted, but I am not going to count on it. She can be pretty single mind about these matters. Think I will go and start looking for a few new locations to hide from view in right now before it’s too late.
Till next time guys, your ill-fated sparkling, sweet smelling friend

Why is my mother so despicable? I don’t know about you and your mom but I hate it when mine starts throwing that B*** word around, like it doesn’t mean anything. What is it with are humans anyways, I just suffered a plunge in January, so I should be good for another month or two at least. See I know how things work around here, first it will be the bath, then she will put that dumb frontline stuff on me and it will drive me crazy because I will keep trying to rub it off and it won’t work. Then after break dancing on the rug for a day or so she will want to take me to Pet-Co, and I don’t mean that she is taking me to lunch at the rawhide bar either, no… It will be that mysterious, nail clipper welding lady that laugh at the tuff looking snarl that I give her. Next it will be mom not letting me roll around in any grass, or dirt, or even any mud pile that we see on our walks. “No Doggie, you’ll get dirt” she will say, “and you just had a bath”! Big deal, I think we should just skip the whole tubby thing and we can avoid all of this insanity.

That it, I have a new cause, I will start making up tee shirts and poster right away so we can all band together. I just need a catch phrase to put on everything, hum, let me think…Don’t throw the Doggie out with the bath water…or maybe just No baths allowed, short simple and to right to the point.

Oh no I’m too late I hear the water running, that’s it for now Diary; I have to go hide under the bed.

Yea, Norna keep her word and Thursday and she took me to pick Boy up from school, and I got to take the ride to drop boy back off at favorite cousin Wills house; and that’s a nice long ride too. Then Friday, Norna got our god-boy Zack again, I’ve explained what a god-boy was before right, it’s a boy that isn’t really yours but you can borrow him once and a while so you can get exercise chasing him through the house, then send him back home when you get to gerrr him too much and Norna can not take the yelping, and squealing any more, from the boy not me mind you. I am a big boy now so I hardly ever squeal any more.

But anyways, since boy was better Norna and Grumppa got to take our granddaughter Jayden for a sleep over this weekend. We have been having a lot of fun together, Norna put our favorite movie in, Beverly Hills Chihuahua like three or four times and I heard her tell girl that she would buy the second one for us to watch together. I love to stand on my back legs in front of the t.v. when I watch doggie movies. Plus I get to follow Jay around and play Doggie Vacuum for Norna and clean up anything my girls’ drops. Fun and yum! Oops I hear the frig opening, so I got to run they may need a clean up in the kitchen, and I like to stay handier than the broom for Norna. Its job security you know!

A lot can happen in a short amount of time here let me tell you. Like last time I wrote I was just getting ready for a long nap, and then mom get’s a phone call from the nurse at Boy’s school. Boy had tried to stay home from school that morning but mom told him he had to go because he was well enough to go to the dance the night before, so she thought he could make it threw one more day at school as well. However the nurse told Norna that she thought Boy was really sick, and that she should take him to the doctors, (you know, a human vet). Poor Boy, nobody likes having to go there and I felt bad for him just hearing that.
I thought that Norna would let me go for the ride so that I could help protect boy, but she said Doggie’s were not admitted at the doctors, darn I wish Doggies were not permitted at the Vets either but that’s a “pet peeve” for a different day.
I was starting to get really worried while she was gone because it took a couple of hours before she returned with the ailing boy. I was imaging all sorts of thing happening, like the vet holding him down and muzzling him so they could give him shot’s and take blood, or even worst cutting his nails. Norna can be a little heartless about some things, but when Boy walked in he didn’t look all that frail or broken. I hopped up on him to give him all sorts of healing Doggie kisses to help him feel better, and laid down with him to stand guard, well okay, sleep guard. And do you know the lucky boy gets to get his heart worm chewy two times a day for ten days, I wish I could get that fortunate.
Then I got the bad new, he had strep throat and that Boy was something called contagious, and we would not be able to get our grand-girl for the weekend. Oh dear, how will my grand-girl get over not being able to see me and adore me. I know I would not get over something like that too easily. I am going to have to give him lots and lots more of healing smooches so Jayden can come over this week during vacation. If a Doggie kiss can’t make you feel better nothing will. Till next time dairy!

Wow, I can not believe that February Vacation is almost here already. This month always seems to fly by; and this February seems to be going even quicker than normal since Norna is on something called a lay-off at work. I do not really understand what the word means, but if you ask me it means Norna gets to stay home and adore me all the time now.

Why I even heard her tell my Auntie Donna that she now knows how I feel being home all the time and never going anywhere. Maybe that is why she has been borrowing so many kids lately, just to give me somebody different to chase. That’s extremely considerate of her don’t you think. Plus as an added bonus, she made Auntie Laura come up stairs to get her boy yesterday so I could give her all types of face licks and tail wags. It is funny though because even though the boys here seem very happy about vacation coming up, Norna and Laura did not seem to be as happy about it.

I know that we are going to have our god-boy again next Friday because I heard the boy talking about it all day yesterday. I am going to have to work out all week so I can really give him a good chase next time he comes over. Somebody has to keep that boy exercised, well speaking of exercise I have been awake now for almost an hour now so it is time for a nap, don’t want to ware myself out before the weekend really starts.
Boy have I been having a fun week so far, well other than the stupid dog show Norna made me watch on TV it’s been pretty good. Today is the second time this week that Norna has had her godson over already, and twice I got to go with her to pick my boy up from school; then I heard Boy say there was a dance tonight at school, so you know what that means. Yes, road trip again for the dog, yea, yea.

I haven’t even told you the best part yet, yesterday Norna and I had to run a couple of errands and not only did I get a ride in the car, but we went over my Aunty Donna’s after we finished the tasks and I got to meet my cousin Drew. I thought it was a little weird when I got there because Auntie had a bowl of water, and some yummy food all set up in a dog bowl there. At first I thought that she had put the spread out for me to cerebrate the fact that I went over for a visit, but then Uncle David came in with his sister and Drew. When we first meet I wasn’t sure if I liked him or not, but in no time at all were having so much fun frolicking together at auntie’s house. I haven’t run that many laps in a long time; though I kind of felt bad for Drew because Auntie kept yelling at Drew for playing roof with me. Norna and I told her it was okay, Drew is only a little Beagle and I use to play with much bigger dog than that at school. Why one of my girlfriends there was a Great Dane, I always did like them really leggie and you can not get any leggier than a Great Dane, that’s for sure. Why we ran around so much that both Drew and I were down for a long nap as soon as we left.

Boy, I can not wait for some of this snow to melt so Drew and I can go outside and really run off some steam. I don’t get to play with a lot of dogs now that Doggie School closed. I might even go so far as to say that I am starting to miss doggie school, but if you tell Norna I will deny I ever said any such thing. Well got to run, I think it’s time I chase my god-boy around the house till I can make him squeal like a girl, nothing personal ladies. I tell you the fun just keeps on rolling around here.
Can you believe my Norna made me watch the Westminster Kennel Club 135th Annual Dog Show last evening! Me not being a pure bread puppy, I look at it like a Doggie Beauty Competition. I kept trying to go into hiding under the blanket and sleep through the whole thing. Okay, I must admit I did peek at a few of the girls that were on it. Norna kept telling me that I was a lot cuter than the dog in the show, but I am not sure I believe her. I mean if you have a handsome guy like me at home why would you even bother to watch junk like that. Is she shopping around for another dog or something? Should I be nervous?

I heard her tell Grumppa that it was on again tonight, so maybe I should stay on the outside of the quilt tonight to keep an eye on her and Grump. I don’t want them getting any silly ideas or anything. Everybody knows that I am dog enough to go around.
So I got my Valentine present early this year. What did I get for Valentine you ask; I got to see my grand-girl Jayden. Norna and Grumppa had her come over this weekend for a sleep over, boy was it fun. Every time she comes over Norn pulls out the kiddie toy box for the little one to play in. You would not believe the great toys that she keeps hidden away in there. Now I know I have my own toys and my own toy box, but I get to play with those all the time; these only come out for the grandbabies.

One of my favorite games is to watch the girl play, and then as soon as she picks out her desired toy, I sneak up and seize it from her. It’s the funniest game in the world, cause not only does it get my girl to chase me around the house but if Grumppa’s home, like he was this weekend, I can get him to join in the game with us. Now it’s not just me that finds this funny because Norna always laughs and laughs when she see’s Grump running through the house flapping and gesturing his hands bellowing at me to stop. Let me just state to you, for a petite little dog with only six inch legs I can really get my speed up. I must admit that I do not believe Grump and my grand-girl Jayden find it as amusing as we do. Oh well there is no accounting for taste I guess.

Not only did we play that fun game, but last night we made Valentine cookies, and Norna let Jayden feed me a little bit of the cookie. They were only sugar cookie, not those chocolate chip cookies that she and boy make all the time that smell so wonderful but she won’t let me consume. She always say’s that it is because it would make me sick but after observing everyone here eat them I would say it is because they taste too good and they do not want to share.

I can not wait till the next time Jayden comes over. Well I worked hard guarding Jayden all weekend so I guess I am off for a long deserved nap. Bark at you later diary.

Sometimes having a boy really comes in handy. I was starting to think that now that he’s a teen ager that he wore out his usefulness, but every once and a while he still helps a furry guy out. Like today, it was starting to seem as hoe hum as usually just me lying around watching the house like mommy asked; when all of a sudden boy calls and asked to stay after school. You might not think this is such a great thing but it means I get to ride to school with mommy and pick boy up. Hip hip hooray, a ride in the car today and I don’t even have to have my nails done to earn it.

See that’s what happened yesterday, the beautiful melody of the car key deceived me; because mom took me to Pet Co to have a pedicure done. There I was, thinking she was being nice and treating me to lunch at the rawhide bar there, but no, sneaky mom hid a groomer instead. I was mortified, my Aunty Laura normally does my nail, not this perfect stranger we were talking to there. Then the mysterious lady started grabbing my feet and chopping away. I tried to whimper my way out but the heartless women keep to their mission, so I gave her one of my toughest grrrs, you know with one fang showing and all, but the clipper welding torturous only laugh at my act. After they were done having their way with me they tried to win me over with a wee cookie but I would not be bought. Okay I would not be bought for a miniscule cookie, I held out for a soft liver treat. Even we Tuff Doggies have our limits on willpower, a doggie could starve on principles you know, and I can not starve because who would watch the pack if I were not around.

Speaking of the pack I have to go jump on mom to remind her to take me with her. I am off till next time diary…

Okay, now I know why I haven’t been walking outside. Wow, I’ve never seen so much snow. Mom said it was such a nice day out yesterday she would take me for a walk, because you never know when it’s going to be that nice again in New England. We had to walk down the center of our town though because most of the sidewalks are still covered, and it’s not my favorite walk because of all the noise from the greens traffic, but at least we are not risking our necks when I take a sniff, or reestablish my relationship with a couple of trees.
I was hoping to see my girlfriend from up the street, but they were not around when we walked by. Just as well I still have to go out and have my pedicure down before I see them, Have to look go for Valentines Day you know! Mom tried to find the carbo chips at Petco yesterday but they did not have any, so she said we can look for them today when we go out. Yea that’s right, be jealous I get to go for a ride today.
Wow it’s been a while since I’ve been on here. It does also seem to have been a long winter so far and it is only February. The snow bank at the front of my house is almost as high as the garages roof, and we haven’t seen any sidewalk in a while. Mom say’s it a good thing I’m paper trained because there is nowhere to walk out there, we live down the city so it’s not safe to walk in the roads either. I am so board and am willing to take my chances on a stroll in the road but mom keeps telling me we have to wait. What will all this yucky weather we’ve been having she hasn’t even been able to take her car out, because it got iced in in the driveway and Grumps been working late all week so he couldn’t help her get it out either. She’s been telling me she wants to take a ride to the pet store so I can get a pedicure, have to look good for the ladies for Valentines Day you know. Mom been layoff from work so she said she would make some homemade doggie cookies for me and my friends this year. I can not wait to test them for her, scrumptious. I am not a big cookie fan but I think if I give her my cute look she may let me lick the beaters. Scrumptious, boy gets to do it when she makes them goodies so if it’s good for boy, it good for Doggie too, right.
Well I’m off for now, bark at you later…

It is hard to remember my days before I join Mom's family. Here the Dog always get's something good.
Boy did I have a great time with Mommy today. Mom and I went to have my pictures done today for Christmas and we think they came out really good. Mom and I are a big Grinch fan so we think it is the perfect Christmas picture for us. We had it done at a local pet store so I got to play with a bunch of other Doggies while I was there. I even got a goodie bag to take home with me along with the pictures. Mom told me it was well worth the twenty dollars it cost,
because it was all going for a good charity, bullet proof vest for police dogs.
While we were there mom grabbed a couple of copies of the December Pet Gazette so she could show it off. I'm on page thirteen with the other happy adoption stories. Then, after the pictures we took a ride to mom's work so all the girls she works with could ooo and ahhh over me. I also got to give the girl tons of doggie kisses. But the best part was the fact that mom put my car seat in the front of the car so I could ride shotgun with her.

We are going to a local pet store so I can have my pictures done for Christmas. Mom already took some of me and my boy for our Christmas cards but today it is just going to be me. I heard Boy last night try and weasel his way into our fun day but Mom told him no. I can not wait to go because mom always lets me pick out a treat from the rawhide bar, yum. Plus their should be other dogs there for me to play with, it's been such a long time since I've seen any doggie friends. I love Mom and the family but it's not the same as playing with other Dogs.
Well I'm off, have to let mom glam me up for the pictures.

Good Evening Everyone,
Mom and I were killing a little time before Doggie School, so I thought I would update my memoirs. Things in the house feel like time is standing still what with only a couple more nights of Doggie School and it will close for good. Let me tell you this is going to completely open up my agenda calendar. If you ask asked Mom I am sure she would tell you that I am not ready to end my schooling, not going to agree with that but I will so miss spending the time with my doggie acquaintances and their people. Some of those people give the best kisses and belly rubs a boy could get. I hate to even think of the treats that I will be missing now. It’s just not fair!
I might have to give a speech or something. I can hear it now in my head…” I am the Doggie; I speak for the fleas, as the fleas have no tongues”. Well something like that, I don’t think it sound as good as the Lorax yet but I will work on it. Well time to tossed a lease on Mom and drag her off to school.

I hate when the clocks get turned back because it seems like its gloomy all the time. I’m paper trained, so I won’t see a lot of time outside any more. I personally miss the dog days of summer. My window has been shut for a week or two now and I don’t envision mom opening it up for me any time soon. All I can do is hope for a warm Thanksgiving so she’ll have to open it while she cooks. Thanksgiving is my kind of holiday; with all that great food at one time. Too bad it’s that not for Doggie type of food that always smells so wonderfully delicious. At least mom always blends an extraordinary hearty bowl of kibble on the holidays.
After Thanksgiving everything goes into overdrive around here but that’s for another day diary.

What I great time mom and I had at school Tuesday night. I am a little disappointed that I did not win this year and go out undefeated but it was still a really good time. Boy came with us and mom asked him work the camera for us. That also explains why some of the pictures are not real good but that’s a teenager for you. I caught wind of mom mutter something about how he managed to get a great close up of his sneakers but I see too much of his sneakers anyways so I did not really listen to the tirade. I definitely liked a lot of the getups, and the lassies at school looked especial appealing.
Speaking of lassies, did I tell you I had a date Saturday at PetCo with the girls up the street? We go every year, the girls have their pictures done then we all enter the contest there for laughs. Well mom enter me for laughs, I enter for the treats they give out. Yum Yum. Maybe I can get mom to treat us to the rawhide salad bar while we are there.
Anyways mom put up the home movie we made at the party, go to my homepage to watch it. It should be good for a couple of laughs anyways. Still can not believe it was the last ever “Ugly Sweater Night”.

It’s almost here. The last “Ugly Sweater Night” at school. Mom only has a couple of day‘s left to fine tune my ensemble for me for Tuesday Night. We still can not believe that there will be no more Pocksha Canine Club anymore. We will have to try to outdo ourselves this time. If I can triumph one more time I can go down undefeated there. I will have to keep mom busy to make sure I am victorious. Keep your paws crossed for me.
I’ll keep you informed of the outcome.

Oh my God we are beside ourselves here and I just had to tell somebody about it! Pocksha Canine Club is going out of business. We can not believe it. Tuesday nights are not going to be the same when this transpires. Okay I know I know, I was under no circumstances the best scholar at Doggie School,( I still don’t sit at the end of a heel, and speaking about heeling, well now that’s another one that I have yet to master) but it was the only social hours I had with all my doggie friend and their people. I have girl friends there that I flirt with, and I had my eyes on the new Newfoundland I noticed last week at school. I have always had a thing about those lofty black hair canines: and the way this mademoiselle could salivate is indescribable; but I regress let me get back on the topic here.
What is mom and I going to do on Tuesday nights once this happen? Mom said I was just starting to get the hang of this school stuff, and in another year or two I would have become a great little working dog. Gee, if she had known this she may have been a little stricter about my studies. Furthermore it means no more doggie parties like were use to attending there. We have the last Costume Contest and parade of horrible at the end of the month then that is the end of those festivities for ever and ever. No more Christmas parades, or Yankee swaps, or even pictures with Santa. How will I ever ask him to bring me a new Mr. Noodle for Christmas now?
Whatever is a little Doggie to do!!!

How am I and mommy suppose to get our walks in if it's rainy all week. Oh yea, Mom will try to walk me, her in her rain coat and me in mine; but it will just be around the block not our good walks were we are out for an hour or so. Oh please go away rain1 It's bad enough that it's Sunday and Mom has to work all day, so I am stuck home with the boys. And I know Grump has to work on his car so I will not see a lot of him.

Things are starting to get back to normal around here, and it about time too. I love when our grandbabies come to visit but it really takes a toll on our life. It seem like it was non stop for at least three weeks around here. Now I 'm all for a fast pace, but most of the time I got stuck home all alone for most of the day while mom and boy were off with the other grandbabies. Mom keep telling me that she was going places Doggies were not aloud, but I not sure I buying that excuse. You tell me how I suppose to believe Doggies' are not aloud at the zoo. What are they looking at, pictures of animals? I think not. And why go out to eat when you can cook at home were your Doggies around to help clean up any spillage. Having a warm meal is highly over rated when you have your dog's feelings to worry about!
But that's over now because they all flew back to Germany and it's just us again. I must say things are a bit quiet around here but I'm sure we will get use to it again. I been trying to keep mom busy so she doesn't think about the kids being gone. Like yesterday we took a walk with boy to the library to pick up a book for him. Mom was going to drive but Grumppa dropped the walk word out, so mom felt bad and made boy walk with us so I could go. Mom did not even get mad about it even though we had all ready taken a walk that day.
I am hoping to get a lot more walks around here because Mom broke down and bought one of those square monster for the bathroom. I heard her yelling at it earlier today. Something about it must be wrong and there is no way she weights that much. Yea more walks for Doggie. It's good to be the workout buddy. You should have seen the look on her face when I hopped on her stomach when she was doing her work out. She said something out jumping on her head was not helping but she was laughing too hard for me to believe her. Isn't yoga suppose to be done with dogs? Why not, they call it the downward dog.

Mom had to close all the windows today so she could put the AC's on again. I hate it when she has to do that; because I can not peek out my window and monitor the neighborhood. We were going to go to Borderland State Park after she got out of work, but she told me it was too muggy for that too. I don't get it, I was not complaining and I am the one that has to be in the fur coat all the time not her. Oh yea, sure, I got to grrr Grumppa's feet when he got home and had a play session with Mr. Noodle; but it's not the same. I have not been any where good for over a week and if this keeps up I am going to go on strike. She'll be miserable when I stop giving her Doggie kisses, or paw.
Hi everyone it's me Colin Doggie again. Did I tell you how much fun Monday was here playing with the Grandbabies? They have gotten a lot bigger since I last grrr their feet. The youngest boy did not seem real happy to see me, I think he must have been sick because he was delirious or something. He keep crying about how he did not want to come into my house cause of some mean dog, so I keep looking around to chase this dog away for him, but the only dog here was me Colin Doggie, and I know he could not mean me! It did not take him long before he started feeling better and I had him under my Doggie spell, and I heard him tell Mom how I was a good doggie.

All of the Grandbabies have gotten a lot more nimble since we last saw them too; I had a heck of a time chasing them around the house. We all had a lot of fun frolicking together, not to mention the vittles. Boy can my Mom mix up some cuisine because the Ravioli kibble was simply superb. Both the young boy and I did not last long after the ravioli's, something about having a full girth that put us boys’ right to sleep! Can not wait till they come over again to clown around with us. I love my big boy but being a pre teen we do not play around as much as we use too. Once and a while he let me drag him on the skateboard but that's about it. Maybe I can get Mom to rent me a little boy or girl when the grandbabies return to Germany so I can get a little more exercise in. I will have to run the idea by her and see what she thinks.

Will have to see how I make out with that. Goodbye till next time.

I have the best mommy. Yesterday she had to have her car worked on and I was afraid that she would be gone all day but she was not; she made sure she made the appointment early enough so we could take our walk at Borderland. It was a good thing too because we ran into a lot of my doggie friends there.
Like my friend Tye from school who is getting a little brother next week. His mom told us about it while she was rubbing my belly. It's going to be an adopted dog like me but he is coming from down south, can not wait to meet him. A boy can not have too many doggie friends you know.
Then I spotted the fish herding Boarder again, only yesterday he was playing that dumb fetch game. He must have been humoring his person. We have to do stuff like that for them once and a while. I watched for a bit and then we got down to so serious play bows and romping. While I was playing with him, mom spotted her daughter Ianne and my girl Jayden, she lives right next to the park. (The new picture on my blog is Jay and me.) I was so happy to see her that I got right into covering her face with my wonderful doggies kisses, afterward I introduced her to my Border buddy, because she is a dog lover in training you know.
After that we wandered the rest of the park together. Mom invited them over Monday because our other grandbabies are coming over. I can not wait; it has been a long time since I have seen them. Mom say's we have our work cut out for us because my youngest grandson Brad is afraid of dogs and it is my job to win him over. Mom knows if any doggie can do it is me. I will let you all know how we make out.
So after we said goodbye to the girls it was of to the car for the ride home. I was so tired from my long day at the park that I hardly looked out the window before I fell asleep in my car seat, dreaming of the good life at my forever home.

Have I ever told you about my best friend Mr. Noodle? He was the first toy Mom and boy ever bought for me at my forever home. I remember that day well because mom introduced me to the wonders of the "Pet Store". Oh what a wonderful place this is, with every toy a doggie could imagine and they have this wonderful salad bar of treats put out, though mom will not let me eat them there, she says that she has to buy them first, whatever that means. And all the girl fawn over me because I put them under my magical doggie spell and nobody can resist me when I turn on my charms.

Opps I got sidetracked there, back to Noodle. Now this is not my first Mr. Noodle, I would have to guess he is about my third; because I bestow so much love on him that he kind of wears out. Mom won’t let me play with him when he starts throwing up stuffing, and I always pout when I am without my friend, so mom replaces him right away. I have other toys but none is as dear as Noodle to me. He sleeps with me all day while mom is working, and helps me beet up Grumppa when he is sleeping on the couch and I want to play. I know if I drop Noodle on Grump's head enough times he will wake up and grrr with us. I have even broken down and played fetch with Noodle to amuse my people: they seem to get a kick out of me running around the house with Noodle in my mouth. Humans can be funny some times. Maybe someday mom can snap a picture of me running and jumping with Noodle for you so you can see how athletic I am. But for now just be sure to watch the new movie: Doggie and Noodle.

Oh boy what a day I had today with Mom. It was Saturday and since boy was still at his sleepover we got to leave earlier than normal for our fun day walk. Today’s destination was our very favorite place, Borderland State Park. I don’t know if any of you dogs have ever been lucky enough to visit there but I think it is really impressive. There are all these really great trails through the woods, so it is nice and shady, it has a couple of ponds that the dogs can go swimming in, and a several good fields were you could play Frisbee with your person or just chase a couple of birds to keep them on there toes (or is it wings). And there are always tons of really cool dogs there with there people. Mom says the dogs are all exceptional because their people take them out to places like Borderland, not like the poor dogs that never get to leave their yards. I know a few poor dogs like that and they seem really unhappy, barking all the time and stuff. Good thing mom adopted me and not somebody like that!

But anyways, like I was saying about the noteworthy dogs I meet there. Last weekend I spotted a boarder collie that showed me a new trick. It was really hot so I hopped in one of the ponds to join him. And what do you think this Boarder collie was doing? He was herding fish! His person was a little surprised about it but it made perfect sense to Mom and me. I mean, what else would a Boarder do with fish. Today while we stopped at another one of the pond I met three grand dogs that were fetching a sick for one of their persons. I manly just got my feet wet and watch because I figure if the person was dumb enough to keep throwing the sick back out into the pond he did not deserve it back. Frankly I never got that fetch thing at all. The people seem nice enough though and they had good taste because they fell in love with my breathtaking looks, and cool name. I let them oh and awl over me while I dipped my feet to cool off. I did not dare go for a real swim living since I live with the bath crazy lady and all.

Before we left for home some incredibly friendly women took a photograph of mom and me for us that I will post later, along with a movie of our wonderful adventure today. Well, I am getting a little drowsy after our three mile tramp today. That’s a lot of steps for a diminutive chi mix like me so I’m off to catch a few zzzs and dream about my magnificent life at my forever home.

Hi everyone it's me Doggie again. I am trying to remember to be a more zealous poster to my diary here on Dogster: so since I was hanging around home killing time I thought I would jot down a diary entry. Things are a little quiet around here tonight. I was watching my boy all day long for mommy while she was at work, but now he's off at his friend’s house for an overnight. My boy is getting big now, almost thirteen and he has the attitude to prove it. Mommy is always saying how glad she is that I am past my terrible teen years, being an adult dog of three now, because she could not handle two teenagers in the same house. Now I am not that old that I don’t still like grring Grumppa’s feet every night when he comes home, but I am sure I will never outgrow playing that game with him. Grumppa is still at work right now and it is Friday so he will go out after work and have a couple of beers with his friends when he gets done so it will be awhile before I can grrr his feet.
It's always nice and tranquil when it's just mom and I. It would have been a perfect night if it wasn’t for the bath she made me take. Yes I know I just had one, and I most differently told her that again and again while she was getting the stuff ready. It is an on going battle with her and me, right now she is ahead but someday I will win. Like a couple of days ago she gave me the last Bath even though it had hardly been a month since my last bath. Then yesterday she was outside cooking out on the grill, and getting the yard set for when our grandbabies come for a visit at the end of the month, with me in my pen enjoying some fresh air. I decided to put on a little doggie colon to impress my girlfriends up the street when I saw her come check out what I was rolling in. She gets real funny about what I wear for cologne; I don’t know why, maybe she has allergies or something. All of a sudden I hear Doggie Leave it, Code for stop whatever I’m doing, and she runs to pick me up. At first I thought she just wanted a better sniff of my macho new scent, but then she grabbed the dead bird I was rolling over and threw it out of my pen. She really has no taste in toilet water: like no dead bird scent, no poison ivy scent, no trash sent, no stink grass, the list goes on and on. And now no dead bird with bugs on it, how am I going to get girlfriends smelling so clean. Oh well I guess you have to take the bad with the good. Speaking of good, she just cooked me a wonder mallow bone with just a pinch of garlic, just the way I like it. Now that I think of it I believe I will be off to gobble my bone, have to keep up my strength for Grumppa feet later. Maybe I can swivel around over it first.

The Pup Cake mommy made for me and my friends were really good this year. They were "liver chip, with peanut butter frosting. My girlfriends from down the street came over with presents for me and to help me eat my pup cakes. I did not really need the help with eating the pup cakes but mommy always reminds me to be a gentleman so I shared with the girls. We ended the evening by taking a lovely stroll together. I can not think of a better way to spend a birthday. Well I'm off to try and beg the last peace of pup cake off mom.

So all and all it was a good day to be the Doggie.

Mommy called today my birthday, but Boy said it was my adoption day. I do not care what they call it as long as it will get me more of those magnificent pup cakes. Mom makes them special just for me and my Doggie acquaintances. This year the aroma was almost beyond description because she made some peanut butter frosting for the tops, and it tasted even better than it had last year. I might even go as far as saying the pup cakes made the bath worth taking. I’ll get fresh and sparkling clean any day for pup cakes.

Wow, it has been so long since I etched anything on my journal. Mommy’s camera busted so she hasn't been doing the photo op with me. And no I did not break the camera before somebody thinks up that old joke. However, today for Valentines Day she made boy snap some pictures of me so she could email out some cards for friends and family. I don’t know how she lasted this long devoid of up to date fresh Doggie Pictures.

I still knew just what to do for mommy. I hopped up on the treat chair right away in costume so they could do their photo op. I am an old pro you know. I held my head up high for them so they could get just the right shot in no time at all.
Nobody take a picture like me Doggie!

OMG, what a great first birthday I had at my "Forever Home" with my people. I can not believe it's been a year already. Mommy kept telling me summer was almost here but with all the rainy weather we been having I thought maybe she was mistaken. Summer time is my favorite time of year because my boy Trent and Mommy are home all week long since Boy gets all summer off at his school. (I’m bringing this up with the other dogs at Doggie School this week; maybe I can start a riot.) But I woke up the morning of my birthday with the sun shining, and bird song filling the air. Mommy had made the greatest pup cakes ever seeing that they had liver treats for chips. Best of all they were for my doggie friends and me, not the people. My friends and I though they were mouthwatering tasty.

My people even got me a birthday present which I open all on my own I’ll have you know. Mom does not typically let me rip up paper but I finally showed her how handy it can be when I attacked the wrapping, and I had the gift out in a jiffy. I could not believe my eyes when I say it was a brand new Mr. Noodle. Mr. Noodle was they first toy mommy got me when I got to my forever home. He was my best friend and I played with him all the time, well until I ripped off too many of his body parts and mom could not sew him back together any more. Boy and I played with the dazzling new Noodle all day. Let me proudly tell you the new Noodle is all ready missing some of his beard fuzziness. I hope Mom bought in bulk.

Everybody here furnish me with tons of kisses and oodles of extra walks all day long. Life is so good now it’s getting hard to remember my life on the streets and then the long lonely stay at the pound. I’ve settled in nicely with my family here. For my birthday wish I wished all the dogs in the shelters could find their forever home like I did. Remember you can not beat a recycled doggie.

Oh boy what good fun Christmas was with my new family! I got to do so much stuff this holiday season. It started right after Thanksgiving at the Middleborough parade. Pocksha my dog club marches in it every year and this was my first attending. I got a see all my dog friends with their people while we waited for it to start. I set eyes on the funniest looking bred of dog there, tallest dog I ever saw. Mommy said it was a bred called horse, and to be glad we were walking in front or them. It was a long three miles, but I was in high spirits because I heard all the kids in the crowd calling out “look at the Doggie.” How did they all know I would be there?
Next were pictures with Santa, you know the Big Guy? I thought he was kind of scary when I met him at school. But by the time I took pictures with him again with my grandbabies at the mall I was an old pro. Jayden needed tons of doggie kisses to calm down after the photos opt though. I was only happy to help out. Then the next night mom put me in my Reindeer hoodie and off to school with her and boy. It was our Christmas party, so all the people got to eat some of that not for doggie stuff food, and treats for us doggies. Then boy open a great gift for me, a huge canister jam-packed with yummy dog cookies. Mom made me share with the other dogs at school but I still ended up with half the jar full after showing my politesse.
Christmas eve my girl and her mommy came to sleep over. Mom spent the whole night in the kitchen working on the feast, so I had to keep my self busy by chasing my girl. That thing never runs out of energy. Mom tucked them all into bed but Boy kept trying to get up that night. Then it happened, it was here. Did you know that guy in the Red suit bring you stuff on Christmas? I got all kinds of cool tasty stuff in my stocking. And the best part was I got some of that not for doggie stuff in my kibble. Mom mixed homemade Ravioli in just for doggie. You could not have found a happier dog this Christmas, or a more tried one. I think I had a Christmas hangover.

Doggie's thoughts on Ugly Sweater Night!

Happy Howloween everyone. This is my first one with my new people, and I am really looking forward to it. I never knew doggies got to dress up for it too, but mommy told me all her dogs dress for Halloween every year. I was a little skeptical at first about the ugly sweater (costume) she made for me just for this holiday, since boy and she could not stop laughing at me in it, but I am starting to see the advantage to it now.

It started last Saturday when she packed up me and my ugly sweater and off to the car for a ride to Pet Co. I love taking trips to pet stores, however when we got their instead of picking out rawhide chews at the doggie salad bar she put me in my ugly sweater, there were people all around pointing and laughing at me , how uncouth. Just when I thought I would die from embarrassment, I spotted my doggie girlfriend Daisy from up the street, and she had her ugly sweater on too. Daisy looked very cute in her butterfly sweater and I gave her tons of kisses to cheer her up, not our fault our people have poor taste in clothing. After looking around I noticed that all the dogs there had on their ugly sweater as well, Stacey and Clinton would have a field day with these people. One by one they called out the dogs and made us walk the runway for everyone to laugh at us. When Mom and I were done with our walk the staff gave mommy a huge bag of Halloween Sugar Cookies and these really great chews. Boy they were scrumptious. Mommy though they smelled just like the real thing so I had to tell her they were not for people they were doggies, at last revenge for all the good stuff on the table.

I thought that was the end of that stupid sweater till Tuesday rolled around. Yes, Tuesday means doggie school night and all the dreariness that goes with it. This week I thought it was going to be even worst because I saw her pack that stupid sweater again. What was Mom thinking; I know all these dogs and their people and Boy came along with us this time, just to snicker at me, I’m sure. How would I ever live this down? Mom and Boy were in high sprit on the ride so I should have known something was up. When we arrived there Mom made me put on that vulgar sweater again, and I walked in with my head low. Just as I was consoling myself with a payback plan of peeing on the rug when we got back home, something caught my eye. It was my buddy from puppy class, Brandy and she wore an ugly sweater too, as a matter of fact all the dogs did. Was this an epidemic of bad taste? Oh, the shame of it all. Soon Boy was walking me around the mats in a “the parade of horribles” with all the other dogs. Just when I was about to start a mutiny the parade ended, and I was allowed to hide under mom’s chair. But then I heard my name called and Boy dragged me back out in front of the whole crew again, but instead of being arrested by the fashion police I was given a prize for my costume, another bag of great smelling cookies yum yum, and a new squeaky toy. Who knew bad taste paid so well, and because of the parade we only had to do our lessons for about 20 minutes instead of the normal hour.
I have begun looking at this dumb unsightly sweater with new eyes. People can not seem to resist giving you wonderful things when you wear this ugly sweater. Why I have more cookies than I could eat in a year now as a result and Mom said she’s taking me out again tonight in it. So let me just end by telling all my doggie friends out there to bear with ugly sweater night for your people’s sake. Just go out with heads and tails held high glowing with the certainty that you are not alone and good treats come from ugly sweater.

Mom thinks she knows what kind of mix I am. She’s now believes I am part mountain goat. She also says I am having something called a set back, but let me explain. Mommy tells me all the time that kibble doesn’t grow on trees and she has to go to work so she can buy me all my food, toys, and pay for Doggie school. Now I would be happy to skip dog school if it would help, but I not so willing to give up the other two. When I first got here she use put up a couple of small obstacle to block of the rest of the house and leave me with just the hallway and bathroom to play in while she was gone by; but I’m a smart little doggie and it did not take me long to figure out a way to penetrate these barriers. Soon I was lounging on the couch by the time she returned from work, sometimes leaving little present for her because it was too much effort to rescale the barriers to reach my papers in the bathroom. As a result she started leaving me access to the kitchen as well so I could lounge in my window while home alone and I was fine with that until the weather started getting cold. Then she had to shut the window before she left, which left me with no chose but to infiltrate the living room again.

Though I enjoyed this daily exercise mommy clearly did not. So my mommy thought she would put and end to my fun by buying two extra high gates (33 inches high) and once again try to keep me in just the kitchen and bathroom while she was gone. For a while it worked, and I would stay were I was placed, but as the days went on, about a week to be exact, I would once again great mommy at the door when she returned. As good matured as mommy is she was not looking forward to her daily dance with the rug cleaner so she thought she would outwit me again with these dreaded gates. This time she wasn’t playing around and she started leaving me in just the bathroom with one gate on top of the other. Clever mommy and at first it worked but me not being a Doggie to take things lying down I spent the next couple of day planning my next great escape.

Mommy figure it wouldn’t take me long and it didn’t. Though she expected me to use my mountain goat skills and climb over I tried a new means of attack. You should have seen moms face the first day she came home and I met her tail wagging at the door. I had worked at the gate till I pushed open the bottom gate. Boy did I give that gate a thrashing; it looked like a grate dame had pressed through it. Mom thought maybe she didn’t set it well and tried again the next day. She tried hard and I felt so bad for mommy that the next day I pulled the bottom gate into the bathroom so I could escape. That way right after I greeted mommy at the door I could ran back into the bathroom and lay down on my pillow like a good little doggie. That made her feel much better and we both had a good laugh over how thoughtful I was.

So as things stand now mom and I have reached a compromise. She knows I recognize what the gates are for because when she’s home I will not got over, under or though a gate when they are up, even if she leave them open a little on one side to test me. Mom now leaves me with the kitchen, bathroom and hallway so I can investigate any noises I hear, and be at the door a pond her return. So far so good, but the weathers been nice and my window has been open. Time will tell diary, time will tell.

Yesterday was my 3 month anniversary with my new people. I can not believe it has only been three month, most days it seems like I have been here forever, and life is going pretty well for me here. For my special day mom cooked my favorite treat; a new marrow bone, exactly the way I like it too. It was a wet rainy day but mom left my window open for me anyways because she know how much I take pleasure in watching the world go by. When my people got home there were tons of kisses, liver treats (yum), and even a long nap on the couch under my beloved blankie with mommy.
Mom says that I am a smart little doggie and that I have learned a great deal of doglish already. I know, ride, up, off, papers, sidewalk, wait, sit, down (I know down I just don’t like it) hurry, easy, and the one that mom says is the most important, leave it. Oh yea I also know all those dumb words from school too, but I am not even going to justify them by mentioning them.
I’m off to gerrr Mister Noodle so that’s it for now diary.

Just when I thought I was living the good life here, I found out my mommy had a big fault. She can not seem to stop using bad words around me. Here I was, innocently chasing the spitting orb around the kitchen floor, minding my own business when I heard it slip from her mouth. I could not believe my ears; I mean she seems like such a sweet-tempered, compassionate person. Just when I think I’m living the good life out it slips from her gentle mouth. You know the really terrible ghastly appalling B word. It is the one word that can leave a doggie shaking and quivering in their fur.” Doggie, time for a bath” mom said all cool, calm and collected. Sometime it seems like she has a heart of stone. This was already my third bath this month, and being a graduated doggie I can count that high now. My mom just can not comprehend how many times I have to roll around in stinky grass, and rotting rubbish to get to smell this delightful. Not even my heartrending looking puppy face was enough to deter her from her dreadful mission. I had to mope and sulk in my sun-drenched kitchen window the rest of the day. It is soooo hard to be a doggie these days!

Okay, let me just start out by barking out that I received my Certificate of Completion” from mommy’s dog club Pocksha. I still can not believe it, but mom said it had to be mine because it has “Colin Doggie” written right on it. All my new people are so proud of me! But let me start out this entry from the morning. It kind of long so come back later if you do not have time to here my story now…..
It started out really good because mom had it off so we got to walk my boy all the way to the battle field. When we arrived there, other children were getting ready to prepare for their daily struggle. A couple of these kids were of the girl variety that I really like. More often than not, they bend down to tell me “what a cute doggie” I am; and when I have them under my spell I sneak in a ton of kisses. Too bad the yellow monster showed up just them to swallow the combatants to run away down the street with them. So mom and I finished off the block for a morning walk.
I thought I won the daily double at the track when I got home because Grumps had the day off too. So after even more kisses I got to show him this crazy new ball thing that mom got me. It works like this; you push the bright orb all over the floor till it begins to formulate funny noises. Then after it cries enough, it spits a treat at you so you to back off. That toy is always worth a good roll because you never know when it’s in a spitting mood.
Before I knew it boy was back to refuel and start his preparation for tomorrows encounter. Then food for me, some of that not for doggie stuff that smells so great but I never get to try. I took mom on our after dinner stroll; then off for a ride with mom and my kid. We boys are always working.
I absolutely love rides in the car because I have this pimped out boaster seat. Well really it’s my godsons Zack’s, a godson is a borrowed boy in case you did not know, but it’s awesome just the same. It lifts me high enough so I can see out the window; mom belts me in for safety and it is all recycled stuff. I am the green doggie.
Only too bad for Doggie because today was Tuesday and rides always end at Doggie School on Tuesdays. No dog parks, no pet stores, no friends houses just dumb old school. This school of ours is what gives mommy all those stupid “rules thing” ideas. I mean Place, heal leave it, down and sit. What are these people barking about? I will just never understand it. For example my sits are not real pretty yet, why I am expected to just stay there till mom says okay. I still not completely convinced of this “she the boss thing” in the first place. I do really well at home, but with so many other dogs with their people, and their kids how is a doggie going to listen.
But Mom and I stuck it out together and I got my diploma. She mentioned something about advanced training but it went over my head. Most things do only my being only about 12 inches tall and all. Well I think I am off to roll my ball again.
Till the next time diary.

Oh boy, what a week, it was just awful! I thought it was bad enough that my new mommy made me go to doggie school once a week but last Wednesday was even worst. It started with mommy waking me up really early to eat and do my business on the morning papers, and then my boy and mommy got all dressed up. I wondered what was up but they put me on my leash, and I guessed we were all just taking a walk together.

It all started out well, we walked around the corner and down the road, me peeing and marking everything standing when all of a sudden we stopped. What was going on I thought to myself, I had enough ammo for at least another block or two. Then it happened, this big yellow thing pulled up, mommy said goodbye to our boy, and the squeaky yellow thing swallowed up the kid. I could see him in its stomach, waving his hand for us to save him. I barked and yelled at the thing to let him go but it just ran away with him. Mommy said he had to go to school, then she took me on the rest off my morning walk like nothing was wrong, what a brave mommy. Next we got home, I hopped up in my favorite window to look for my boy and the next thing I knew my mommy grabbed her keys, told me to watch the house and off she went.

I worried about them all day, who would protect them, lick their faces and gurrr their feet or jump on their legs to let them know it was time for their walk. I could barely get in a four or five hours nap that day because I was so distressed. I was just about to jump up and bark a 911 on the phone when at last my mommy came home, and she had the nerve to act like nothing was wrong. An hour or so later my boy must have won his scuffle with the yellow monster because he returned also, looking astonishing happy and unsoiled for his struggle. I kissed his face at least a hundred times to show how happy I was that he made it back to me. But then it happened yet again the next day and the next.

I have started to show my displeasure by sulking on the couch nowadays after my morning walks in protest of this awful phenomenon that happens on the weekdays. I think its working because I heard my daddy tell mommy he thought I was sick the other day when mommy called from this place called work. I may have to try a little harder to convince mommy though because I could here her laughing on the other end of the phone.

Hi everybody, I am the new Doggie in my house. My people caught sight of me at the local animal shelter and decided to adopt me. I’m about a year old, and some kind of Chihuahua mix. Mommy thinks I am going to be a good little dog, but no Doggie is perfect, and even though I am small I still have to learn the rules. While I am talking about rules, we sighed up for puppy school in August, at Mommy’s old dog club Pocksha. She keeps telling me I will like it but I not that sure yet. My Mommy said I am doing well at school, but I still whimper all the way to class on school night.

I even help my Mom recycle by giving her another use for plastic bags from the market, and not to mention all the newspaper and flyers that come to the house. She's trying to paper train me now and even though I am getting used to it I would much rather go out side and pee like the big dogs.

So far I think this family stuff is pretty cool. I even have a boy here named Trent. He’s a lot of fun to play with, and I love to go places with him. My people learned I like to dig when we went to a park, and one day I went to the beach with Trent and Mommy and it was great fun. Today we tried out a dog park in Foxborough and we all had a great time. Everyone always thinks I’m a puppy, so I always get a lot of attention. Let’s just say I soak up all the attention I can get.
