I am sorry it has been a long time since mommy has shared my story on here. She has been so busy and, not to mention, the Book of Faces is where she likes to share all of our stories & pictures. But, I demanded she come back on here to let my pup pals, who are not on the Book of Faces, know how I have been doing.

To begin with, I am healthy and happy as ever. We are having summer here in Georgia so I LOVE getting to go out in our HUGE back yard and run & play for hours on end. Mommy & Daddy have to monitor my playtime lately because I started climbing the fence again. Our neighbor has unaltered cats and they have spread all over the place lately. Every time I see on in another yard I can’t control my urge to climb on over and chase them. Not sure what I would do if I actually caught up to one but, the chase if fun. Think I am going to have to stop climbing the fence though; I don’t get to go out and play as much as my brofur & sisfurs as a result.

Mom and Dad are still cheating on us. They come home every Saturday smelling like other dogs. I know they are volunteering for a furbaby rescue place but prefer they not let them get all my lovey dovey time. Just sayin’.

I hope everyone on here is doing well & that all of you know how much I love and appreciate our camaraderie on Dogster. This site has given us so many awesome friends and endless useful information when it comes to our pawrents caring for us. BIG HUGS FROM ME TO YOU!!!

Mommy, Daddy and I loaded up in the car and headed to Top Dogs Pet Boutique in Kennesaw, Georgia so I could pick out my own toys and birthday cake/treats. I went a little crazy and made mommy spend $85 but, she didn’t care. She just loved watching me and Daddy walk all around the store sniffing, licking, rubbing, everything in sight (I was doing that…not daddy! BOL!) and when I was done, I did it again! I made sure to get enough treats to share with my brofur and sisfurs and they really appreciated it. Especially Braun because he gets pretty upset when one of us goes for a car ride without him! BOL! Anway, thank you so very much for all of the pawesome messages & prezzies for my special day last week. Mommy is going to add a couple of pics to show you how much fun we had. LOVE ALL OF YOU!!!

Mom says we will have to celebrate my Birthday (officially) this weekend because Daddy is working nights and both of them need to be there for my celebration.
Mom and Dad have been very, very tired over the last week because my sisfurs, Ginger and Nugget have been having a really hard time with all the evening storms we have had this week. Seems we have a horrible storm every night since Monday and Mom’s greatest fear is the big Oak tree in front of our house landing on us. She doesn’t know I can read minds but, I can. She has the most horrible fear that that tree will crash on our house one day, during a bad storm. She has had an estimate to have said tree removed but, we don’t have that kind of money right now. The bad thing is the BIG tree is sooo close to the house and right next to our master bedroom.

I decided I must make her not worry too much. I started loving on her lots. Every time she woke up in the morning, every time she left for work, every time she got home, every time she lay in bed…I loved on her. She liked it!

Tonight, Mom and Dad lay in bed and watched TV for a little bit. Storms started, again. Mom had to deal with Ginger and Nugget as they were freaking out and she did the most amazing job of petting both of them at one time, making them feel like “life was ok”. They loved it.

Once Ginger and Nugget were calmed down they went to one of our many dog beds in the master bedroom. I now feel like I should let Mom and Dad know how much we love them for taking care of us. As such, Dad leaned over for a “good-night kiss” from Mom and I felt like I should get in on that. As Mom and Dad kissed, I jumped in there and gave a little kiss myself. Dad called it a threesome…not sure what that means but, we LOVED each other! BOL!!

I am not a happy girl! Nugget had to have surgery last Thursday and it has been "all about Nugget" since then. I tried to jump between Nugget and Mommy when they were cuddling (like I always do) and mommy got mad & told me no. She actually told me "NO"!! I am in shock at they way they are treating me. They wouldn't let me get any special playtime in with Nugget either! I mean, what is going on here. I am not familiar with abuse but am pretty sure this is it. Seriously! SOMEBODY send me the number to ASPCA so I can file a complaint. If you do not have that number I would like the one to DFDS (Department of Family and Dog Services)!!! Geez!

I would curl up all alone in a small cage all day and all night. I am a delicate little girl so the loud sounds of others barking and howling all around me in thier cages made me scared, constantly scared. We were all loaded in a van once or twice a week and taken to stores where we, once again, sat in our cages all day while people came by and looked at us in the cold, heat, rain, etc. In the beginning there was hope but I lost it after many trips to the stores then return trips to the rescue service. Was my family really out there? Are they looking for me? Don't they know I am scared and alone in this room full of pups that need a home?

Another trip to the local store, all of our cages packed in the van one on top the other and side by side until stuffed. I had stopped looking people in the eyes. I just hid in the back of my cage hoping it would all just go away. Suddenly I heard a man tell his wife "look at this one honey". To my surprise they were looking at me. The wife said "oh my God she is sooo skinny and sad". Yep! They were definately talking about me. Next thing I know they are letting me out to visit with the couple. I immediately jumped in the man's lap and began to do a little whiney sound that made the woman get closer and love on me. She actually looked deep into my eyes as if to tell me something but I didn't understand. And then, like before, I was put back in my cage and off they went. Oh dear, how many times can a heart break before it actually falls completely apart??

Wait, what is this? They are coming back! OMD! THEY ARE COMING BACK! I heard them tell one of the employees they "were back from the bank"!! I was so happy at this point that I was no longer cowered in the back of my cage. I perked my ears up and my little brown eyes veered through the bars of my cage and I just listened. It didn't take long before I heard my new Dad ask if he could please go ahead and take me out of my cage while my new Mommy filled out all of the paperwork. YAY!!!!! Free!! I was FREE!!! My new Daddy and Mommy took me to the pet store to pick out my new bed, food bowl, collar, leash, and new dog toys; all for me.

Before I knew it I was whisked off to a big beautiful home with three other dogs and a MASSIVE back yard (we have since adopted another one so, five dogs). I haven't been back in a cage since that grand day. I haven't been scared since that grand day (except for those stupid vet visits). I do have to put up with some obnoxious barking and howling on occasion but it is not the same as the kind at the rescue...it is usually my siblings pitching a fit when Mom and Dad go somewhere.

All my Hopes and Dreams came true. I hope they did for you too!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with their family. For all those out there that didn’t have a forever family; we thought of you and prayed for you. We know that many, many of us are still out there in a cage with concrete floors, warm/hot water, bars as a door, pee on our floor and a person passing by on occasion to make sure we are still breathing. We know that your Thanksgiving was not one of celebration, thanks and love. We know you cried yourself to sleep the night prior and the night of. Our wish on our Thanksgiving was for YOU! Not US! YOU! We want everyone to realize that while they had the warm surroundings of comfort, family, friends and great food…you were in hell. A cold, careless H E L L! Bless all of your sweet souls for holding on to hope and understand we are doing EVERYTHING WE CAN to get you and yours out of the hell you are in. WE LOVE YOU AND WILL NEVER FORGET EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU! There will be no peace until there is PEACE FOR ALL!

Man! I can't believe Christmas is here already! It seems like it just snuck up on us this year. Typically we know it is coming months in advance because mommy starts her “shopping frenzy” which typically involves lots of online ordering for us pups! Then, she takes the entire living room floor up with bags & wraps and tissue paper, etc. to get everything “hidden” before the big day.

Every year we get new dog beds and this is how I figured out Christmas snuck up on us! Mom and dad came home Saturday and had all new dog beds in our room. WHAT? I absolutely can't believe Christmas is here already. Hey, where are all the other millions of awesome things we get every year? And, what happened to our special “Doggy Christmas Day” which is specifically set for just us pups and Grandpaw always comes over to celebrate and brings us even more fabulous stuff??? Pawlease don’t tell me you got rid of our special day!!! OMD! I CAN'T HANDLE IT! Where oh where did the love go???

BREAKING NEWS: this just in via Austin, apparently Christmas is not here yet. Mom and dad got new beds early because when Nugget first moved in back in she chewed holes in all of them.

Panic attack is over. Whew! Sorry for the interruption!!

Mom has decided to put up cameras to watch what we do during the day when she and dad are gone. Funny she calls them “hidden” video cameras because we are watching her check the angle of the camera and hit the “record” button before she leaves for work.

Turns out, I seem to be the only one to notice mommy setting up said camera. I say this because every time mom leaves Braun immediately runs to the kitchen and “counter surfs”, Nugget starts tearing toys up as if they have offended her in some way, Austin starts a lengthy howling routine which makes me think maybe she thinks the camera is for American Idol…Dog Edition and Ginger will climb up on the back of the loveseat forcing the curtains out of her way with her claws to watch the front of the house all day.

I on the other hand sit there like a really, really good girl. I cuddle with myself and the blankets on the couch, occasionally giving an “I’m so adorable” glance toward the camera…careful not to look directly into the camera otherwise THEY would know I know! BOL!

So far this “hidden’ video camera is working quite well fur me. Mom and dad come home, watch the video and tell me what a good little girl I am. Teheheheehee! I know, I know…I am a little rotten!!

Mom and Dad are so bad at removing things from their nightstands in the morning. Daddy usually has a couple of plastic cups, one for water or some kind of drink and the other is usually left from a late night snack. He also tends to leave empty cigarette packs and other items over there. Mommy leaves tons of water bottles and the occasional snack bowl because she likes to eat a little Italian Ice (cherry flavor) while watching shows before sleep. And she wonders why she isn’t losing weight! BOL!

Back to the subject at hand. I am well aware that Cleanliness is next to Dogliness so I have taken it upon myself to peruse the nightstands in the mornings and remove any items that would be considered “trash”. Since we are locked out of the actual trash can I try to devour the items myself…kinda like a shredder. I take the bottles of water and chew on them until the water is all the way out and try to shred those too.

Do I get a thanks for this??? NO! Mom pretended like she was already in the shower this morning and snuck back in the room to watch me “do my thing”. Didn’t even let me know she was there…just stood there watching me. Needless to say I was surprised when I turned and say her and even more surprised I didn’t get a “thank you” for helping clean. Jeez!

This afternoon, in Georgia, we had one of many recent “violent” thunderstorms. It hit just after dinner fur the pups and, of course, we had to go “poo” about a ½ hour afterward. The storms were so bad that when Mom opened the back sliding glass door to let us out we all shrugged it off.

Mom was concerned that none of us went out and told Daddy. Daddy said “if they can’t go outside we will just clean it up”.

We were all showing signs of “thunderstorm anxiety”. We never ever had fear of storms before my sister Nugget showed up but, since her arrival, she has shown us that sometimes storms should be feared.

Nugget is so scared of storms that she cries all night when we are having one. She has awakened us on so many “stormy” evenings that we are now equally anxious fur her.
Apparently Mom is ready as well:

Tonight we had a REALLY bad storm and we were all afraid to go outside for hours. Mom was concerned about our “potty business” and decided to open the back door to see if we would go out in the rain/storms to “relieve” ourselves. WE DID NOT GO!

Suddenly Mom walked out in the lightning, hard rain, and thunderstorms & asked us to join her. She stood out there in the bad weather with us!!! WAY TO GO MOM!! We all ran did our “business” and each stood next to her while the other finished.

Next thing we knew Daddy was at the door with the “pool towels” drying Mom, Me, Nugget, Braun, Austin, Ginger.

WINNIE: I need you to tell your mom Annette what is happening here in my house! I think you know that your mom is AWESOME! Therefore, I am asking your AWESOME mom to pawlease tell my mom that she is acting a little "rude" lately.

History: My mom was having some heart problems. She described them as "palpitations". They had been going on for about 6 months before she decided to tell her Primary Care Physician that she was concerned about same. Well, the PCP sent her, by referral, to a cardiologist to deal with it. She was given a lot of tests...one was wearing a monitor for a whole month. During that entire month she found it uncomfortable to wear the machine overnight so she asked all of us furbabies to get off the bed during "sleepy time". I was understanding of that.

Now that mom has finished her testing and was told by her doc she had PVC (an additional heart beat that happens on occasion and feels much like a missing beat) she has been making all of us (INCLUDING ME!!) get off the bed at "sleepy time". I overheard her telling dad that her cardiologist said lack of sleep and stress would set off her PVC. I think she is using that as an excuse. I mean, he also said cocaine & alcohol abuse can cause it. I am not pointing paws at anyone but, she could be doing drugs or drinking too much alcohol behind our tails. Apparently she is very good at hiding the aforementioned criminal acts because we have not seen her doing it. However, she does enjoy red Gatorade and body powder...could she be disguising them??? BOL!

Nonetheless, I am asking that your mom tell my mom that letting me sleep IN THE HUMAN BED versus THE DOG BED is great for her health. I mean, studies have been prove that petting a furbaby can reduce stress as well as blood pressure. That translates into letting me in the bed all the time so she has instant access to the stress receiving process of petting me whenever she needs to.

Let me know what your mom says. I am pretty sure her opinion will ring in my favor...after all, I am TINA WINA! BOL!!!

Thank you in advance for your participation in this blackmail. Teheheheheee! I mean, BOL!

Today mommy and daddy were doing lots of cleaning. They call it âSpring Cleaningâ. I call it, ...

Today mommy and daddy were doing lots of cleaning. They call it “Spring Cleaning”. I call it, hours with the sliding glass door open & all of us furbabies running free to play in the back yard. I was out there for a while and started wondering about what was on the other side of the fence. I used to jump the fence when I first moved in and Mom would quickly catch my and get me back. Afterwards Mom & Dad “Tina Proofed” the yard and I would not be able to get out again afterwards…until today.

I was gone for a while & found myself in an area I wasn’t familiar with. There used to be a dog named “Red” that lived next door and I would run & play with him. But, Red isn’t there anymore so I wandered further than usual. Before I knew it I was lost. LOST like all those furbabies on those signs. I tried to find my way home but didn’t know where home was. I wandered for a while. There were these huge cars going past me that seemed to have no idea I was there. They scared me. Suddenly I wanted my Daddy but, he wasn’t there. This was bad. I was truly lost. Would they hang signs for me? Would they give treats for my return? Would someone else dognap me and I never get to see Mom & Dad again?? This was in fact the worst decision I have ever made. Way worse than the decision to eat the couch. Far worse than my decision to east the coffee table. EVEN WORSE than my decision to eat Daddy’s Ronald Reagan boon. This was BAD.

Suddenly I find myself hearing Mommy and Daddy yelling my name. I look, I look, I look and I can’t find them. Then I was at a place called “QuikTrip” which I KNOW mommy loves this place because she gets gas for her car here and her and Daddy come here for coffee, soda, etc. when they are out running errands on the weekend. Will they run another errand on a Sunday afternoon and find me?? OMD! I WAS SOOO SCARED!

After what seemed a lifetime my Daddy pulls up and sees me. He didn’t even have to ask me to come to him…I SAW HIM AND RAN AS FAST AS I COULD TO HIM! We drove home in the car. Dad passed our house and I wasn’t sure why. Was I in more trouble than I imagined?? No, he was driving to find Mommy in another car looking for me to. We pulled up to her at a person’s house way down the road…she was telling them about me. When Dad honked the horn I could see the relief in her eyes.

When we all pulled back in our driveway Daddy was ticked. Mommy jumped out of the truck and ran over to the Jeep and cried while holding me. I licked her face to tell her I was sorry. It didn’t help. She was so devastated!

Once I was back in the house I was scolded & loved at the same time. I am sorry Mom & Dad. I Love you SOO MUCH. I will try my best to never hurt you like that again. It was scary fur me too!

Last night I awoke to the sound of a grizzly bear. I crawled out from under the covers (between mom & dad) towards the noise. I was truly scared but knew it was close & had to try to save mom & dad. As I peeked my head out from the top of the covers I was in shock! It seemed the bear climbed into mom’s mouth and left her mouth open as he crawled down her throat into her tummy. I could hear the bear growling from inside her mouth and knew by then I was too late, there was no way to get it out. Soon therafter Daddy woke up (he heard the bear too) and saw me standing over mommy. He told me mommy was snoring which I guess is some code word for “bear in mouth” and tapped her until she rolled over. Apparently that made the bear go all the way down to her toes because I could no longer hear it. Daddy rolled back over and returned to sleep so I assumed all was good and I did the same.

About an hour later I was awakened by the sound of a bird. Once again, I crawled up through the covers and peeked my head out only to find that it was mommy’s nose!! A bird had now flown down mommy’s nose and was making a squeaking sound which resonated throughout the room. Oh my! What a bad night mommy had. This time Daddy was no longer in the room (he gets up really early) so I had to figure out what to do myself. I stood over mommy listening to the bird in her nose and began to ponder what I should do. It sounded like the bird was just inside her nostrils so I decided I could probably get it out quickly by licking her nose. Once I licked her nose mom came out of her sleep and looked right at me asking “what are you doing silly?” and I told her “saving your life silly!”. It must have worked because the bird stopped making noise in her nose.

Whew! What a crazy night. I wonder what the bear and the bird are doing now?

We have had an unbelievable amount of snow in Georgia the last couple of days and I have taken it upon myself to be Daddy’s firewood helper. He has to go back out in the “weather” every few hours to get a new batch of firewood and I go with him, braving the elements to make sure he is safe and able to find his way back in the snow.

Mom thinks I do a wonderful job and laughs at how seriously I take my job. As soon as Daddy puts his hands on the firewood case in the living room I JUMP up from wherever I am and run to him so we can go get the wood. I ma the only one who does this in the house and I take it very seriously. I will miss my job when summer comes but I am sure I will find something else to do to make me useful to Daddy and continue to make Mommy laugh.

Stay warm my Dogsters!!

Mom and Dad (fur some reason) decided to take me and Nugget for a walk without Braun, Austin and Ginger. I believe mom said she wanted to get us some alone time so we can work on getting used to one another. Phhhht! I am just fine without any assistance…Thank you very much!

The walk started out quite nice. We were all side by side enjoying the cool Fall weather as I sniffed all the interesting areas in the neighborhood when, all of a sudden, Nugget hears one of the neighbor dogs barking in their back yard. She went NUTTY! She started barking like she was a “big dog” and pulling on her leash. Mommy was trying to contain her when she started flopping around like a fish out of water & then started trying to chew through the leash to get free. Well, I hate to admit it but when mommy is panicked I am panicked so I did what any smart (panicked) dog would have done…I started whining out loud like a nervous Hyena. It was so loud and went on for so long that mommy told daddy she thought I might pass out from hyperventilation. Such an overreaction mom! I don’t pass out.

Daddy decided we needed to turn around and head back home and he thought it was best that we separate from one another because it seemed that Nugget and I were just “fueling the flames” of our obnoxiousness when we were side by side. That wasn’t the best idea either! As soon as dad and I got a little lead on mom and Nugget you could hear mom sternly telling Nugget to “stop!”, “slow down!”, “easy!”, etc. I heard Nugget talking back to mom saying “what?”, “a squirrel?”, “where?”, “you want me to go get it?”, etc. Clearly there was a lack of communication going on between the two. Dad and I just listened and laughed to ourselves. Silly girls!

By the time we got home all of us were worn out and I needed a valium.

We will try this leash walking thing again and again until we get it right. Geez!

Hello all my pup pals!!! We have been out of touch for a little bit because mommy and daddy were having problems with that thing called the internet at home and we have all been in withdrawals! Once the man got it fixed I BEGGED mommy to let you guys know about my new furriend named "Alf". He has been in our home fur a long time but we were never able to play with him. Those of you who know our family know we lost our grandmother to cancer years back and grandpaw moved to Georgia to be with us. When he first moved here he stayed at our house and WE LOVED IT but, he did move into his own place and remarried. He left Alf at our home and it was hiding from us fur a while until mom decided to re-do the spare bedroom and sat Alf on the bed.

From that point forward ALF WAS MINE! I refuse to let anyone else play with him. Mommy gets a little growl every time she tries to take him away. I made a poem fur my new furriend:

I got a new furriend and his name is Alf.
He has been here a while, living in our house.
He hid in the spare room...away from danger.
Until mom decided to be a re-arranger.

She moved him up. She moved him down.
She was careful enough not to sit him on the ground.
She did make a mistake and sat him on the bed.
I saw my moment and I grabbed him by his head.

He doesn't go outside.
He has a big mouth.
He loved hanging with me.
Until our furriendship went South.

I ate his nose and a little of his face.
Now we are furriends and we share our space.

LOVE IT HUH?

Mom posted some pics of me & Alf having a good time. She didn't want to post them on my profile pic as she finds it too hard to get rid of the one where me & dad are cuddling!

Take care!!

Mommy has been so very busy lately so she hasn’t had time to update my diary this week. I gave her a hard time last night because I wanted everyone to know about my adventure last Saturday. Mean mommy forgot the camera so we didn’t get any good picture so I will have to go again in order to preserve same with pics. Nonetheless, I did get to go see Grandpaw all by myself last weekend and it was tons of fun. He has a new place with his new wife and it was really nice. When I first got in the car I wasn’t sure what the heck was going on because I wasn’t hurt and wasn’t due for my shots so WHY WAS I BEING TAKEN TO THE VET??

I was less worried when we passed “the road” to the vet and then became a little freaked out. Where were they taking me?? This area looked so familiar…it was where I was hauled in a cage, in a car with all my other cell mates every Saturday for a long time to see if anyone wanted to take us to a furever home. There is no way they are taking me back!!! I began to hyperventilate and pressed myself as hard as I could against my Daddy in an effort to remind him how much he loves me. I even began to shed a whole bunch of my hair in the car so they would feel guilty if they did in fact take me back. I moaned and whined quite a bit too.

Imagine my surprise when we turned a different direction and when we parked…there was GRANDPAW!!!!! I was sooo happy to see him! We went in his new place and it was all clean and nice & there was this little bitty tiney winey dog there. I had heard talk of a new dog in the family. I was told (by my brother Braun) that we had a new uncle since Grandpaw got married but, I never expected to be soooooo much bigger than my uncle and I never expected my uncle to hump my leg repeatedly…to each his own I guess.

Anyway, my new uncle’s name is Taz and we hit it off pretty well, except when I had to snap at him for being “too friendly”. We visited inside for a while then we went outside to visit with the neighbors. There were two other dogs I got to meet that day. One was Brandy and the other was Opey. They were both super cute. We hung out, chatted, peed, sniffed each others butts – you know, the usual.

I did kiss Grandpaw several times while there. I miss seeing him as often as we used to but, that will be ok soon as mom & dad are going on vacation for a whole week and Grandpaw is staying with us! WHOO HOO! Can’t wait to share those adventures on here.

Mom has to go back to work now. Love to all my furriends.

I am sure most of my Dogsters are aware of this “trick”, for which we don’t get treats…BUT, for those that have no idea, I offer the “key to happiness”. We all know our people wake up really early to “go earn treats” as mommy describes it as she leaves each morning. (Funny thing is, she never says that on Saturday & Sunday!) . Nonetheless, my mommy & daddy think they own the bed in my room. They are constantly laying on it, watching TV on it, browsing web sites on it, etc.

Well, last night I jumped on the bed to show my love & appreciation for my pawrents when…all of a sudden…my (typically) sweet mother yelled at me and said “DOWN”!!

What? “Me no speak that language”! I realized my mission would not be easy, but, turns out mommy felt sooooooooooooooooooooo bad about raising her voice (at 2:00a.m ish) that I knew at this point I was in charge. I broke out the Baby Doe eyes and I was in!!!!!!!!!!!! Turns out that look works fur pretty much everything. Enjoy “the look” my Dogsters!

Last night our family was very stressed out about my brother Braun. He is set to go in for a vet appointment to have a "mysterious lump" checked out on Saturday morning. Mom is more stressed out than daddy which is really weird because mom is most known for her "bowl half full" theory of daddy's "bowl IS empty" theory when it comes to life in general.

Anyway, we spent most of the evening stressing about the "what if's" and mom cried a little because she is soooooooooooooooo emotional and dad spent time calming her down. Dad tried to lay out the good, bad and ugly of the situation and tried to reassure mommy by saying..."no matter if it is cancer, we will pay for it and deal with it"..." he is our boy and it will be ok".!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT????( mommy says).

There is no question mom and dad will do anything to take care of us so dad's comment was a little out of place. After all, men aren't very good at FULLY understanding women's feelings/thoughts....so mom tells us.

The night ended with tears and worry. We all feel mom and dad's emotions and as a result I was worn out. I showed signs of the stress which had worn on me and I got real tired/restless.

As you can see from my newly poster photo, my family takes the time to make sure we are all ok before we go to sleep.

Tonight I will spend my evening praying for my brother Braun and hoping that tomorrow's vet appointment is a good one...not a bad one.

Love to all my Dogsters!

I was very scared but handled it very well. Dad said I was all teary eyed but I told him that wasn't tears, that was drool that had somehow made its way up instead of down. Nonetheless, the doc was so proud of how tough I was that he gave me a camouflage bandage! LIKE A MARINE! Hoooraaahh! Mom plans on adding a video of me having a mini panic attack at the vet's office but that proves nothing...all Marines get a little nervous before they go into battle!!!
Well my furriends, I was all full of good news last weekend when we went to the vet to check my dew claw but...turns out things got worse. Mommy and Daddy came home today and we all went out for a yard run and when I came back in I had blood on all of my paws. Mom freaked out and started checking all my paws. When she got to the source of the blood it was the dew claw that was swollen last week. Vet didn't find a tear or a break last week so we were very excited but when mom and dad soaked me in epsom salt in the tub and got a better look it seems the nail is separated from the pad at the bottom area. Mom is upset!

Mom and Dad cleaned it up and put the cream on it. After than they wrapped it up so I would not mess with it tonight (and to keep the blood from flowing) so we can rest and head to the scary doc first thing tomorrow morning. BUMMER! Mom is worried I will have to be a "conehead" for a while but if that is the worst part...I guess we will be ok with that.

Will keep you updated. Love to all my Dogsters!

Several days ago when I was playing around I yelped really loud and, as always, mommy and daddy came running to my rescue. They thought I had injured my right leg as I was favoring it afterwards but it became clear it was my dew claw (I have two per paw) when mommy touched it and I yelped again. Mommy has been doing "daily inspections" of my dew claw and knew it was swollen but this morning she told me she was really worried about me. Turns out the swelling is worse and the redness is worse. She told daddy that if this did not look better by tomorrow evening we have to go to the vet Saturday morning. I asked her to PLEASE come on here and ask all my buddies if they have ever had an experience like this or ever heard of an experience like this and if so, do they have any advise. I ask for your help b/c I am VERY scared of the vet. I literally have a panic attack and hyperventilate and it breaks mom's heart. If I have to go...I have to go. But, we just thought we would ask on here first. Love - Tina.

As you are all aware, Daddy got me (and mommy) a HUGE bear for Valentine's Day. I spent a lot of time with this bear trying to teach it the "ropes" and would you believe it turned on me?? I had no choice but to defend myself!!!! It all started when I told her she needed to lose a few pounds - after all, I didn't want her to be forced to eat diet food like my fursis Austin when she gained too many pounds. Well, bear was obviously offended and without warning she jumped me. She had me in a headlock at first but my Military training came into play. After about 30 minutes of wrestling I had (1) pulled some of her stuffing out (2) gave her the doggie elbow and (3) pinned her to the ground! To celebrate my victory I layed on top of her and had dad take a photo. I have a feeling this is not the end of our dispute. But, as it stands now...Tina score 1...Bear score 0. I hate to embarrass her but I needed mommy to poet my picture to sho this actually happened. I am a little ashamed that I have such a big smile on my face but "it is what it is". To be continued.

I am now a lover of Valentine’s Day. Mommy and Daddy have never mentioned this occasion to me nor have I ever seen them celebrate it – could be one of those days where they leave for a long dinner and do not bring leftovers home. Anyway, this year Daddy gave Mommy a super-duper-massively-huge teddy bear for this special day. I immediately fell in love with the bear a/k/a “MINE”. Mommy has tried on several occasions to take the bear from me but I chase her down the hall holding onto “Mine’s” foot until she gives in and I drag “MINE” back to my doggy bed. Mommy decided it was better to let me have it and she took some pictures of me and “MINE” for all to see. We are cute together! I hope to get another “MINE” next year. I love this Holiday!!

1. When I come home, I let tater (Austin) come out front to do her excited pee before going in the house. I tell teeny weeny (Tina) “hold on- I can’t walk that fast to the back door to get you out”, I reassure my boo boy (Braun) that he was loved and missed all day and I tell blondie (Ginger) “no treats until you go out and do your business”

2. I will ask my pups if they want to go for a walk. Why I bother asking, I don't know. The answer will always be From Ginger "only if it is in the back yard because you know how creeped out I am about going through the front door!!". From Austin “will there be food involved?”. From Braun “only if you let me off y leash to roam free about the neighborhood whilst you look for me” and from Tina “YES YES YES YES YES YES! *hyperventilating*”

3. Rather than being the Pack Leader and insisting my dogs make room for me on the couch. Loveseat, bed, spot in front of stove in kitchen, etc. I simply work around them, trying not to disturb their peace.

4. When I tell Tina it is time to go to bed (in other words get off our bed and into her dog bed) she looks at me as if I have beaten her with ears down, eyes bugged out and shivering so I inevitably say “Awwww! It is ok honey. You had such a bad life before us so you can stay in the bed”. Making me so uncomfortable all night long but – so worth it! Thank God the other three dogs prefer to sleep in their dog beds!

5. When I am done with a roll of toilet paper I will throw it in the middle of all the dog toys and see who finds it first. That dog gets to chew it to shreds and then I clean it up for them.

6. I think nothing of my dogs sniffing my butt or my hair or even my clothing. Humans on the other hand – psycho comes to mind!

7. I pull dog hair from my food and try to guess which dog it came from. Human hair will make me throw a steak away!

8. When I wake up from a nap on the weekends and Daddy is in the living room while the dogs are still in the bedroom with me. I stir them up quietly by saying things like “whose here?” or knocking on the wall by the bed in order to get Daddy to run down the hall and let them outside to potty – trying to keep them from waking me! LOL! This works every time!!

9. I come home from the grocery store with five bags for dogs and two bags for humans. Needless to say there is no room on the top of my fridge or the bread box for anything but dog treats!

10. I think nothing of picking up their puke. Even when it is full of food, grass and unknown substances. I have been known to stand behind my dogs while they throw up – petting them to make them relax. Never did that for my husband but think I recall a story (before marriage) of him holding me in the truck while I threw up. LOL!

Mommy made signs all afternoon on Saturday and then she was gone REALLY early on Sunday morning to go join all of her fellow dog lovers to protest Mike Vick's return to the GA Dome for the first time since he murdered all of those innocent furbabies. I did all I could to help her with the signs, etc. I stepped on them to make sure they were flat and I even got a little paint on my paw to help add paw prints to the other posters but I am not sure mom felt I was doing such a great job.

Anyway, I stayed up late helping mom because I know how important this is to ALL OF US and she needed me. I even stayed awake the whole day she was in Atlanta protesting - as a show of support. After all of that I was super tired and mommy decided to take a picture of my "tired look" which she added to my Dogster Plus Photo Album today.
Mom let all of us out to play in the backyard last night. The weather was chilly and that makes me “super spunky”!! As soon as we got out there I saw something that I really wanted to play with. It wasn’t my brother Braun, it wasn’t my sister Tina, it wasn’t my sister Ginger…it was a CHIPMUNK! I chased it around the yard and it ran under the porch. I could hear mom yelling my name and I appreciated her “cheering me on”. Once my new furriend ran under the porch all of my furry family closed in on it from all corners. At that point mom was screaming and jumping on the porch. That made Braun and Ginger go inside immediately but Austin and I still wanted to play. But, for some reason the Chipmunk was no longer in the mood. It just layed there. I think it was playing possum.

Anywho…mom kept yelling, Alvin (i named the chipmunk that) was playing dead so Austin and I decided to go on in the house. Next thing you know mom is telling daddy that I have blood on my paws and she is yelling at Austin “bad girl” because she had blood on her too. I was so freakin lost at this point. Next thing you know – we are in the bath tub and banned from the human bed for the rest of the evening.

I truly don’t understand. Did we do something wrong?

By the way, to all of our friends that like to come over and hang out…be careful next time you come by because I heard mom telling daddy we had animal killers living amongst us. I am frightened. Hope they go away soon!

Me and Daddy celebrated our birthday together this weekend. Daddy's birthday is on the 26th and mine the 24th so Mommy made a plan for all of us to go to the park and play and run and meet new furriends. I didn't really like having to wear a leash on my birthday but I did anyway. Daddy got cake and I got a stuffed buffalo! I think I won out on the present end of things. I also got these new treats called Canadian Beggins. They are like Beggin Strips but made like Canadian Bacon. I shared some with my furramily and they loved them too.

I can't wait until another birthday rolls around because it seems like all of us get to celebrate as if it were our own personal day. Nothing better than family!

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE lying in the laundry closet while mommy takes a shower in the morning before work. I started doing it while daddy is showering too! I just love the smell of my parent’s dirty clothes. Mom’s not sure why but thinks it is super cute. Lately it has been a little chilly in the mornings so she has a heater in there and that is EVEN BETTER! Now mommy has to use promises of “going outside” or “treat” to get me out of the closet before she leaves for work. Otherwise, it is a struggle for her to get me out because I might look tiny but I can paste my body to the floor with the best of them! Mom added a pic of me in the clothes closet in my Dogster Plus photos.

p.s. for those of you who recall months back when mommy accidentally closed me in the bathroom before leaving for work and I ate my way out – she hasn’t done that again – he he he he he! Mom added those destruction photos to my Dogster Plus photos back when it happened and many ppl were amazed lil ol me could do such damage. It’s the little ones you gotta look out for!

She happened upon a pic of my when they first got me from Jennifer's Pet Rescue Service and I must say...I was very, very, very skinny! Mom added the photo to my Dogster Plus Diary to show how much better I look now. I have grown with love, daily feeding and the occasional (daily!!!) treat. Holy Moly! What a difference!

BEWARE: What Pit Bulls Are Really Like:

1.	They will steal your spot on the couch if you get up for something.
2.	They will take the treat you give them and bury it in the back yard like a paranoid crack head hiding their stash
3.	They will jump on your bed with muddy feet. Making you do laundry – again!
4.	They will lick visitors with uncontrolled passion only they can understand
5.	They will cause children to smile
6.	They will make you feel horrible for not walking them by looking at you with deep sad eyes
7.	They will look at you like you committed a crime against them if you don’t let them lick your ice cream bowl
8.	They will cause wide spread happiness in large group settings
9.	They will crack you up by shaking their butt so hard you think they are going to snap in half

And the THE BEST REASON NOT TO TRUST A PIT BULL:

***They will steal your heart like a thief in the night, showing you complete and pure love that only a Pit Bull can show***

I have decided the 4th of July sux. It seemed a great occasion when mom first spoke of it. All the family coming over, all the food being cooked on the grill and all the yard time a dog could ask for in one day. However, the bees screwed it all up!

I was minding my business when I happened upon a mound behind the shed. Being the investigative dog I am I needed to make sure it was safe for the other dogs. I got closer and closer and all of a sudden felt this really unusual sensation on my face. I came running out from behind the shed and did a nose dive in the burn pile. Mom saw me and asked Daddy what I was doing. Dad was confused and Mommy called me over to her.

It took me a minute to get back to the porch & see what Mommy wanted b/c I needed to stop every step or so to rub my head on the ground. By the time I made it to Mommy I heard her telling Daddy to take me inside and keep a close eye on me b/c I was more than likely stung. WHAT???? WHAT IS THIS “STUNG” THING THAT IS RUINING MY YARD TIME??

Once Daddy got me inside he checked me for holes, well, ones that aren’t supposed to be there- HA! No snake bites I heard him tell mom. We decided to chill on the couch and watch the Tour de Furrrance. Wasn’t long afterwards that Daddy asked Mommy if my nose usually had that bump in the middle. Mom looked and seconds later it was all a panic! Mom grabs my leash and we are out the door.

Wasn’t sure where we were going or why mom was so upset. Found it even more confusing that dad sat in the back seat with me. I panicked at first thinking we were going to the vet but we didn’t turn that direction so I calmed down a bit. That is until we pulled up to a building that had all the characters of a vet but was not my vet.

Long story short – damned bees bit me and I had to get three freakin shots on the 4th of July. I was super embarrassed that mom and dad wanted to take pictures of the whole event which they have added to my Dogster Plus photo album. . BUT – THE WORST PART was the shots made me so sleepy I missed the food & fun. I am over it by now but at the time it was very upsetting. I am in the middle of drafting an Eviction Notice to Mr. and Mrs. Bee!

my mommy loves me so much - no doubt! but as i was recently reminded, she is not perfect. all my dogster peeps know how much i love to lay in the bathroom closet on top of mom & dad's dirty clothes while mommy gets ready for work in the morning. i really like the smell of mom & dad in that closet. i also like the me time while mommy is getting ready in the bathroom.

yesterday morning mommy got ready and was in such a hurry to get out that she almost forgot to let my sister Austin in from the backyard and she DID forget to make sure i was out of the bathroom before she shut the door for the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that was very traumatic! mommy locked me IN the BATHROOM while my brother, and sisters were running free in the house. i was so scared and freaked out. I HAD TO GET OUT OF THERE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

at first i just scratched at the door thinking someone would hear me and let me out. that didn't work so i was forced to take drastic measures. i ate and scratched my way through the bathroom door.

BAD MOMMY! look at what you made me do. She knew she was in the wrong and was sooooo sorry by the time she got home & realized what happened. I liked all of the {apologetic} attention but was pretty much over it since i had broken out of the room way earlier in the day.

On the other hand - mommy had quite the mess to clean up when she got home! Hope she learned her lesson!

Hello Furriends! You will not believe what I have been up to the last couple of days. It has been super windy here in Georgia and this has been working to my advantage.

Yesterday mom pulled in the driveway and dad let us into the back yard. This is a routine so we don’t jump all over mommy when she walks in the door. Mom does the same for anyone else who comes over when she is home. My sister Austin gets so excited to see daddy that she moans real loud and lets out some pee pee. We aren’t supposed to do that in the house but somehow it is acceptable and cute when she does it out of excitement. I think the rule should be all or nothing but that’s me.

Anyway, back on subject. Daddy let us into the back yard so mommy could get out of her car and come in the house. She was barely out of her car before we all noticed the gate was partially opened and ran out of the back yard straight for the car. Me and my sister Austin jumped in the car while Braun and Ginger just kinda ran around all confused like. Mom honked the steering wheel really loud and dad came out to round us up. We all wondered how the gate got open. Heard mom and dad say it was the meter reader {probably} who forgot to close it when he left.

Well, this morning daddy got up bright and early. Me and Austin got up with him and Braun & Ginger stayed in bed with mommy. As soon as daddy let me and Austin out I went to check the gate…I aint stupid! Low and behold the gate was wide open. I told Austin about it and then I took off like a wild horse in the wind. Flying I was! Flying! Turns out the wind was strong enough to blow the gate wide open!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard later from Braun & Ginger that daddy came running into the room to wake mommy up telling her that we had run off. Mom was so upset that she ran out of the room into the front yard in her jammies, barefooted. Her and dad were calling our names but I didn’t hear them. I was down the road visiting the neighbor dogs who live outside full time. They were barking pretty loud for that hour of the morning. Geez!

Turns out Austin was fishing for some beggin strip points because she never left the back yard. Mom said she came walking out of the fence looking at her like… “what’s going on?”. Show off! I on the other hand didn’t come back until I was done telling all the neighbor dogs how great my life was at home. They were slightly jealous until dad and mom caught up to me. Then they did not want to be me. It was not good. They were pretty ticked.

Moral of the story is…be a show off like my sister Austin because the run is not so fun.

Love Tina

Mom and dad are back from their trip and I heard them talking with grandpaw about their weekend. Apparently they had a fabulous time riding dirt bikes with all of their friends and they even got to have some good grilled food while hanging at the camp site.

I was so happy to hear mommy tell grandpaw how much she missed us even though she knew we were in good hands. She said she especially missed me at night b/c I am always in the bed with her. Even when she makes me get down (on my dog bed) I climb back up when she is sleeping and get right up next to her under the covers.

Since I can't speak "human" I passed a note to grandpaw asking him to let her know I missed her just as much as she missed me!

When mommy got home Sunday she layed in the bed with us and we all took a nap together. I so love my mommy!

Hello my furriends! I have been slacking on the diary lately (blame it on the humans as they have yet to teach me how to type) and feeling kinda bad I havent't updated as well as all of my furry pup pals.

I am still in training to become a Marine. My human brother is also interested so I am hoping he will let me in on some of the test questions so I can breeze through that when it comes up. I train on a daily basis: chase squirrels, stalk the neighbor’s dog, jump grandpaw every time he comes over, eat a hearty meal, move the troops (aka stuffed toys) from room to room in perfect formation and even get a good amount of rest (as you can see from most of my photos). Soon, I will be there to serve my Country – as needed. Hehehehehehehe.

A few weeks ago all three of my furry family members were due for something at the vet and I pitched a fit at the idea that mom and dad would leave me home alone so I got my way and they loaded me in the car. I was ok until I realized where we were. At that point – PANIC ATTACK! I know this wouldn’t look good to my fellow Marines but….I’m just sayin’! You go in there and let him do to you what he does to me once a year and you would be a nervous nelly as well!

Life at home is peachy! Mom has given up the middle of the night fight to keep me off the bed. I usually lay on my dog bed until mom and dad start snoring and then crawl slowly into bed with them and under the covers. Mom used to wake up several times a night and return me to my dog bed but I think she got tired of that and just gave in. That is the way to wear ‘em down! I think my infiltration techniques are already set to be Devil Dog! Ooo Rah!

That’s all for now b/c mommy has to work. I will get her back on here soon. Take care all my furry furrieds!

As you can see from my sister Ginger's post today she is up to no good - again. Not only is she blaming her hurt paw on me but she is planning on milking this hurt paw thing for another couple of days.

She is always standing right next to me when I dig these holes. She waits anxioulsy to see if there is anything down in there. So, I ask you to explain how she doesn't know where they are when she is running fill blast through the yard??

Lately I have decided the most comfortable place to be in the mornings is in the bathroom closet on top of mom and dad’s dirty clothes. It’s so warm and smells like my two favorite people in the world. I came to a realization this morning that Monday’s aren’t so great. Turns out mom and dad do laundry every weekend and that leaves the clothes hamper area empty. I absolutely did not approve of this this morning and mom could tell I was bothered. To make me feel better she took her pajamas and daddy’s towel from earlier and put them in the floor of the closet for me. While I appreciate the gesture, I am used to much more padding.

As far as I am concerned - I hate Mondays and will do so until they decide to stop doing laundry on the weekends. Tina.

I typically get up at the crack of dawn with mommy to help her get ready for work. I try to eat her shoes so she doesn’t have to leave me but she has caught on to my “little habit” and keeps all edible items out of my reach. We have a routine: (1) We wake up to daddy calling telling us to get up; (2) Mom turns the heater on in the bathroom and shuts the door (3) We let the dogs out for potty break – this includes me; (4) Mom let’s us back in and checks to make sure daddy remembered to turn off the coffee pot; (5) Mom gets her clothes together and we head into the bathroom for a shower.

I go in the bathroom with mommy every morning b/c I like to lay in front of the heater while she is getting ready for work. Sooo warm! Anyway, today mommy pokes her head out of the shower to check on me and she couldn’t find me. She was pretty confused and I heard her talking to herself, questioning her sanity as she was sure I went in the bathroom with her b/f she closed the door. She came out of the shower and toweled off, peeking out of the bathroom calling for me when I came up from behind her. See, I found the neatest place in the bathroom that I had no idea existed before today…the laundry closet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was laying in there on mom and dad’s clothes all nice and warm. It was so neat. It even smells just like mommy and daddy which makes it even better.

Bad news is that when mommy gets ready to leave for work she closes all the doors to other rooms because “someone” in the house has a bad habit of playing with things they shouldn’t. When she tried to get me out of the laundry closet I resisted. If I were bigger I could’ve won that battle. Ohhhh, I miss the laundry closet. Til tomorrow morning:--)

Ok, ok, ok. For all of my pup pals you already know that I am a whippet and I get very cold all the time due to my little body and my thin hair. But, it has been really cold here in Atlanta lately and I have learned to love it. See, typically mom and dad come home from work and we all go out in the back yard to play for a bit. We don't stay out as long as I would like b/c mom and dad usually have "stuff" to do in the evening (cook dinner, yard work, etc.) and we get a little bored. Well, when it is really cold out mom and dad come home, start a fire in the fireplace, watch a movie and have soup with grilled cheese sandwiches.

You may ask yourself, how does this benefit me?? I will let fill you in. Mommy gets in the recliner with a blanket and I quickly join her for hours of love & cuddling while watching a movie. When mommy gets up to check the soup on the stove or go potty (so not fair they get to go inside) I go stand in front of the fireplace and warm my bofy. Winter is sooo awesome. I think God made winter for me:--)

I am sending out a special request to “the man” asking for more rain. I have several reasons behind this… (1) Georgia is still in a drought. Heard that on the news (2) Mom and dad stay indoors more when it rains (which means more time for us to cuddle & play) and (3) There is nothing as fun as rolling around in a big mud puddle in the back yard!!!!!

Mom and I slept in pretty late on Saturday morning. I love sleeping in with her sooo much. We cuddle a lot. I think we slept in so late because it was cold and neither one of us wanted to get out of the bed where it was warm and cozy. Eventually the urge to go “potty” made me and mom get out of bed. Once out of the bed we realized dad had this fantabulous fire going in the living room and it was waaaayyyy warmer in there than it was under the covers! We had been missing out! The heat in the living room was enough to give me the strength to go out into the bitter cold back yard and do my business. I hate the cold b/c I have very short hair and I am very thin!

I got my business taken care of fairly quickly. That is highly unusual for me as I usually like to stand around in the backyard, pretending not to know my name while mom and dad do everything they can think of to get me to come in without them having to come chase me down. Usually a treat helps. That is a game we like to play; though I am not sure mom and dad enjoy it as much as I do.

Once I got back in the door mom went back to bed and daddy got back on the couch and my furry family laid on the loveseat as well as the lounge chair. I really wanted to stay in the living room with the fireplace blaring on me but I was conflicted b/c mommy kept calling my name and saying my favorite words… “Nappy Doodle”. Those are our code words for “Tina come take a nap under the covers with mommy; if we don’t go to sleep quickly I will give you rubs and hugs and kisses until we do” a.k.a. “Nappy Doodle”.

What a tough decision it turned out to be. I am not sure I like Saturdays anymore because I am faced with the “Good”, the “Bad” and the “Ugly”… (a) the good is me and mommy sleeping in late together . (b) the bad is realizing I have to go potty in the bitter cold while mom goes in the heated bathroom and (c) the ugly is the decision I have to make between mommy and daddy when she hollers “Nappy Doodle” because daddy is being sneaky and holding me hostage in the living room secretly giving me love, hugs & kisses so I wont leave him.

The Jury is still out on Saturdays but so far…I am conflicted.

OMD! This has been the greatest year of my life! I can't believe how wonderful it is to have a home and so much love! I wish every one of my old friends from the shelter could have the same thing. Everyone deserves this!

Mommy and daddy got to stay home for vacation with us over the Holidays and we had sooo much fun. Braun (my brother) and I opened the presents for everyone and it was so neat to see that each of us had one of each toy. We don't have to share if we don't want to...however, my sister Austin takes what she wants when she wants so I need to butter her up a little:-)

We even got these FABULOUS orthopedic massage and heated beds. I love the heated part (b/c my breed tends to be cold all the time) but that massage thing is for the birds. I love to lay on my heated bed while we are all watching TV or playing games but...when it comes to sleepy time I am back in the bed, under the covers with mom and dad. Huh! That's the way I roll!

All of us got these cool new leashes with new name tags. The leashes go around our body so we don’t choke ourselves with the collar that goes just around our neck. We tend to pull really hard on the leashes b/c we get sooooo excited to go anywhere – except the vet.

Mom made a bunch more food and I watched over her to make sure if anything dropped I would clean it off the floor...we were expecting company you know.

All in all, this is the best year of my life and I know it is only getting better from here. Thank you dear God for my new family. Bless everyone!

Happy New Year!

I know, I know, I know! Mommy, daddy and grandpaw have been telling me for days not to mess with this fantastic tree we have in our house b/c Santa Paws wants us to be good in order to get good pawresents but, I couldn't help myself! I made it through 2 whole days of just staring at the tree and then that stupid apple hanging on one of the middle branches actually taunted me! As you know from my diary entries, I am a future Marine so I wasn't about to let a stupid apple taunt me so...I took the apple down to show it a lesson.

Much to my surprise the apple was fake! Tricked again. That was soooo not worth losing my "good dog" status for Santa Paws! I will have to be extra good for the next 14 days and then I am breaking out of this shell!

OMD! Mommy left really early on Saturday morning which confused me b/c she usually likes to sleep in on that day (with me and my furry family). I thought she must have had a vet appointment b/c we have to get up that early when we have a vet appointment. But, surprisingly she returned, let us out in the back yard and once we came back in there was a tree in the floor in our living room. HOW COOL IS THAT???

I immediately decided I needed to practice my Marine tactis so I ran to hide on the other side of the tree only to find that the enemy had put a trap (aka the netting around the tree) out and my back foot got caught in it! Luckily mom was there to free me so I wansn't taken over by enemy forces. Whew! I think I may need some more basic training from my Marine grandpaw.

Mom ended up standing the tree up in a corner but not before I decided to taste it. Not too bad.

The very next day mommy and my human sister Morgan hung all kinds of tasty looking decorations on the tree. Not sure why they hung some of them so high. They know I can't reach all the way up there. Oh well, I will try today while mom and dad are at work and see how that goes. Hope the tree doesn't fall on me:--)

Here in this house ......

I will never know the loneliness I hear in the barks of the other dogs out there.

I can sleep soundly, assured that when I wake my world will not have changed.

I will never know hunger, or the fear of not knowing if I'll eat.

I will not shiver in the cold, or grow weary from the heat.

I will feel the sun's heat, and the rain's coolness,
and be allowed to smell all that can reach my nose.

My fur will shine, and never be dirty or matted.

Here in this house.....

There will be an effort to communicate with me on my level.

I will be talked to and, even if I don't understand, I can enjoy the warmth of the words.

I will be given a name so that I may know who I am among so many.

My name will be used in joy, and I will love the sound of it!

Here in this house ......

I will never be a substitute for anything I am not.

I will never be used to improve peoples' image of themselves.

I will be loved because I am who I am, not someone's idea of who I should be.

I will never suffer for someone's anger, impatience, or stupidity.

I will be taught all the things I need to know to be loved by all.

If I do not learn my lessons well, they will look to my teacher for blame.

Here in this house ......

I can trust arms that hold, hands that touch..

Knowing that, no matter what they do, they do it for the good of me.

If I am ill, I will be doctored.'

If scared, I will be calmed.

If sad, I will be cheered.

No matter what I look like, I will be considered beautiful and thought to be of value.

I will never be cast out because I am too old, too ill, too unruly, or not cute enough.

My life is a responsibility, and not an afterthought.

I will learn that humans can almost, sometimes, be as kind and fair as dogs.

I will belong.

I will be home.

If any of you pawfect friends out there saw my last post you would see that I am not a fan of closed doors. I would like to take this time to specify which closed door I like the least...Glass Doors! See, mommy decided to clean the slinding glass door the other night (me and my furry family drool on it a lot) while we were playing in the back yard. Once she was done she called all of us in. As usual, I was way back in the far back of the far back of the big yard!

She came out on the porch and used that old trick of hers: The shaking of the treat bucket. Works every time I must say! Anyway, I was sooo excited about my treats that I came running really really really fast through the back yard, up on the porch and straight into the kitch...GLASS DOOR!!! Argh that hurt! Mommy was a little worried but I was ok. I have asked her not to clean the sliding glass door anymore or she can simply change it to a wood door on which I will scratch:-)

So daddy is working at night right now and mommy works during the day. For some reason mommy closes the bedroom door when we all go to bed and I am not sure what the point of that is. She thinks she is keeping us from barking and raising he!! when daddy gets home at 2:00 a.m. but it really doesn't help. We hear daddy pulling up the driveway and that is that! We are off the hook! Daddy comes in and lets us out for a "middle of the night tinkle" and then we are all off to sleep again.

Now...when mommy gets up at 5:20 a.m. to go to work she closes the door with daddy still in the room. WHYYYY??? She knows how much I love cuddling with daddy in the bed! She tries to take me in the bathroom with her when she showers (to keep me from scratching on the bedroom door) but that only makes me bark because I am sooo worried about her in that tub. I have been there and it is not fun. I am not sure who forces her to do this every day and I have tried to tell her if she would stay out of the mud there would be less tub time but I don't think she understands.

Anyway, once mom leaves to go to work it's door scratching time. I usually only have to scratch the door for about 10 minutes until daddy gets up to let us in. See, the other dogs just lay there while I scratch the door. I am in charge you know.

The point of this diary entry is to let all moms and dads out there know that there is no reason to close a door. We know you are there and we will get in eventually. Give it up! Love your furry children.

As you are aware, I am now a Marine. My grandpa was the first to let me know which is only appropriate since he is a retired Marine. Since my entry into service I have been promoted. It all started like this....

Mommy asked Daddy to PLEASE fix the flood light on the back left side of the house so our security cameras have better night vision. Lucky for me and my furry family it was a beautiful weekend so we were able to stay outside with Daddy while he was accomplishing his chore. Even luckier for us there was a problem with the light so it took him a LONG time to get it working. We ran and ran and ran for hours. We even played tackle a few times. Eventually mom came out to see what was taking daddy so long and I decided it was time to show off for her so I stirred up the crew again and when all of them started chasing me (and realize I am REALLY FAST being a Whippet and all) I made a quick maneuver in the opposite direction and stopped "on a dime" behind a tree with a large bush beside it.

Mom was telling grandpa about it later that night and grandpa told me that I had mastered the art of camouflage! Hence, I was promoted to PFC Smith. I understand that to be Private First Class Tina Smith but I overheard Daddy saying it meant Pretty Funny Canine. I think he is just jealous b/c I have advanced in ranking sooo quick.

So, my sister Austin told everyone about the kittens found under our house earlier this week. Well, I am a little bothered that she didn't tell me to stay away from the mommy kitty b/c she is very protective of her babies. All I wanted to do was get a closer look and maybe play a little! Thanks for the tag to my right eye. Much appreciated. I wonder if mommy kitty is soo mean b/c her owner's don't love her and take care of her as well as my mommy takes care of me, my sisters Austin and Ginger, my brother Braun, my kitty sister Groucho Marx and our fish Avalanche???
