Stormy/Puppy has found a new forever home! I am so happy but also sad because I miss him. (I will call him Puppy for the rest of this because that's what I usually call him!)
We met the potential owner Anique three times. First, I took Puppy to the park so he could meet her dog on neutral territory. She has another Shih Tzu named Reilly who is a few pounds bigger than Puppy and about 2 years old. Well, at first Puppy was scared and wouldn't go near her or Reilly, but then after a few minutes he warmed up to them and for the rest of the park visit he and Reilly were having a ball! He was still a little shy of Anique so she didn't really get to interact with him much. The dogs played chase and wrestled and generally had fun. Next, a few days later, they came to visit us at home so that Anique could see how Puppy REALLY is, because at home he is confident, loving and cuddly with people. Then she brought Reilly in and they just took off! They played: wrestling, chewing on each other, pouncing, and fast chases for TWO WHOLE HOURS non-stop! If you ever think Shih Tzus are not rough-and-tumble dogs think again! They looked very cute together too because between the first visit and the second Reilly had got a haircut nearly identical to Puppy's.

The photos on Puppy's page that show two dogs playing are of Puppy and Reilly. I will probably be posting more photos of the two dogs together when I go to visit Puppy or meet them at the dog park.

Finally we went to see the potential adopter's home so Puppy could get used to it and not be scared when he moved in. Again they just pretty much played the whole time. Finally on Saturday morning I brought Puppy to their home to stay. I got a message on Sunday from Anique telling me that the two dogs had played until eight that evening when they both cuddled up together and fell asleep.
A perfect happy ending!
