On October 12, it was 24 years since Rusty was born. We got him several weeks after he was born, so it would have been November. I miss greeting him at the door. Not, that I don't like when Sugar meets me at the stairs. I do, but he'd run down to the bottom of the steps and greet us. We always had to watch coming in the door because of that. Now that he's been gone, it still gets me some days. I expect him to be there. He wasn't suppose to be going down the stairs, due to his back problems, but he did anyways and we couldn't stop him, baby gates or not. lol. Oh how I miss you Bubby. :*(

I saw a dog at the vet today that reminded me of Rusty. Same general color. I remembered bringing him to the same vet, different reason of course, to get him fixed up. I was probably only 11 or 12 maybe. it seems like such a long time ago. i sure do miss him. :/

I'm just missing Rusty right now. Sugar is next to me snoozing and I see the similarities in them. He loved to stretch all out and roll over on his back to sleep, and she does that too sometimes.

I was thinking of him on July 30th. Sugar walked right into the Mohican River, without warning, and it was a shock to us all. Rusty would have NEVER done that. He never once did it when he was there. He wouldn't even go near puddles! lol. Rusty and Sugar look a lot a like in the face. Different colors and breed obviously, but still look similar. They have the same personality and love for us all in the family.

Love you Rusty, and I miss you.
