Mom and I are bravely putting this out there in order to hopefully help someone else. As I wrote in my diary, I was in the hospital. I've had a few bouts of illness and, much to our surprise, the result is that most likely it's all been related to Addison's Disease. Yep. I am now a special needs pup. We are all "special" in our own way, though, right? : ) Anyway, when the vet said she sent off the test, Mom thought, "Oh, no big deal" but had that feeling in the pit of her stomach. The test came back waaay positive and now I am to receive regular injections and, for the present, I'm on prednisone. All I can say is that I've never been a good eater and now I LOVE food! Plus, I am more like my playful self again. I wasn't eating at all and was slowly sinking away. Truly. This has made all the difference. Thank goodness to my vet who caught it and started me on fluids and other treatment and saved my life. We thought I had a kidney infection and it wasn't that at all. We are just glad we know and are putting this out there so if someone else has mysterious illnesses that seem to reoccur, you might want to check for Addison's. Thank goodness our vet did. It saved my life.

Recently I wrote about going on the pack walk. Mom and I went again today. It was good practice and all six of us pups were great. A weird thing happened today, though, and I would like to talk about it. It's a bit disconcerting. We had done our walk and were down-staying in front of Starbucks and practicing avoiding distractions and such. A man was walking by with two cute little boys. Mom was just starting to comment that kids are my favorite, which is true. The next thing we knew, a little boy kicked me right in the jaw! Yes he did! Mom was so surprised and we both handled it well. I just didn't react. Mom is thinking that the good thing that came out of this distressing incident is that perhaps that means I will be a good therapy dog. I've been very patient with kids, but this one was more than a test. I have moved beyond this undesirable incident, but Mom is still feeling rather badly about it. The man said, "Sorry!" and grabbed his son by the hand and high-tailed it out of there. We hope he had a word with that son, later, though. Anyway, people are surprising sometimes and us dogs are good to be as patient as we are with them.

Here is something neat that I get to do. There is a trainer in the area who does a "pack walk" on Sunday afternoons. We walk for about an hour on Second Street in Long Beach where there are loads of shops, people, dogs, motorcycles, skateboards, restaurants, you name it. This time there were just four dogs, but it was still excellent practice. We had four black dogs of various breeds and teased that it was a black dog conspiracy. One guy came by and said his hair used to be like mine, but now he has it shaved. He was funny! We walk in a line to each corner, practice sitting at the light or corner and "heel" to the next stop. After we walk, we practice down-stay for a while in front of Starbucks. Everyone came by and looked at us and we were on our excellent behavior. There is no avoiding distractions. Mom is supposed to deal with it. You see, this is called dog training, but I have figured out that they only call it dog training to make Mom feel good. It is really ALL about her. It's people training in disguise! ; )

Did you read my last entry about the special visitor? Mom just talked with my Granmille and SHE has a special visitor! It's a miniature doberman pinscher and a little girl, too. She was in Granmille's front yard, barking at her cat. Now she's on Granmille's lap. Off to the vet tomorrow to see if the little one has a chip. We hope so! Granmille put up a sign, but so far, no takers!

It can get kind of lonely when you're an only pup! Guess what? I had a sibling for a day! Last Thursday, a little girl yorkie was found in the bushes at mom's school. What to do? Mom called my daycare and they couldn't take her. She had no tags, although she had a collar. She looked very young and tiny and Mom knew someone needed to watch over her. Mom drove the baby to my vet and they checked for a chip. No chip! Poor baby! No tags and no chip! Well, the vet gave her a quick once-over and pronounced her safe to bring home so I lucked out! I got a sibling for one whole day! Mom carried her in that night and I was so surprised! Mom knelt down, holding her gently and I sniffed. She sniffed. We decided the other was a-okay. Mom put her down on the floor. The baby explored and I followed her closely so she wouldn't end up in any more trouble. Someone got in touch with mom that night and Mom gave them our phone number and address and they never came by to pick-up little Sheila. (We named her!) So, Sheila spent the night in my kennel. I don't particularly care for my kennel and was more than happy to share. After work on Friday Sheila and I bounced around and played. We hopped, leaped and spun. It was a blast. Sheila hid under the couch! She is that tiny! Unfortunately our fun came to an end when a nice couple from school came to pick-up little Sheila. The couple brought their other yorkie and the two hit if off. In no time at all, the couple was walking away with Sheila on a leash and trotting beside them. Well, having a sibling was fun, even for a little while!

HI All! Well, today is my fourth birthday. I have been thinking about it. At four years old, do you suppose a dog is supposed to know everything and have their act completely together? What is the age that I am supposed to act like a lady at the dog park? I still like to run fast and free and jump and leap. When I'm at the dog park in Redondo, I like to play the Motorcycle Game. In this game, you listen for a very loud (hopefully Harley) go by on 190th, the street that's down the hillside from the dog park. When you hear this sound, you pick up your head and run just with motorcycle energy all the way to the front of the dog park and back to your Mom, even if she's all the way in the back. You weave your way between other dogs and humans and leave puffs of dirt flying up behind you, kind of like a pony on a Western. This is a fun game that you might like to try. It's still one of my favorites! Is there an age where I have to give up this kind of fun and be completely ladylike? If someone out there knows, please fill me in!

I have been tagged by my new pal, Josephine. Thank you, Miss Josephine for thinking of me!

This is about things I love.

1. I love my cousin, Luc. There is nothing like a perfect friend who came automatically!
2. I love adventures with Luc, Julia and Mom and riding with Luc in Julia's CRV.
3. I love the dog beach and meeting Domino, Nancy and Armando there. We met these friends at the dog park and now we go to the dog beach together!
4. I love the days when Mom and I can be together.
5. I love the dog park where I play ball and try to make friends with other friendly pups and humans who will play ball with me.
6. I love children. I can't say enough about how much I love children. I am very gentle with them. I especially love the children who have special challenges.
7. I love following directions. If I know what you want me to do, I love to do it!
8. I love running very fast and leaping and flipping to catch balls.
9. I love hiking off-leash. Wow! Heaven on Earth.
10. I love going places with Mom: Smith and Hawken (Oh, dear. RIP.), Lowe's, the beach, the dog park, errands, traveling to Gramille's and Julia's; you name it.
11. I love the friends Mom and I have met through Dogster. Some we have met in person and others we wish we could meet in person! (Or "in dog," if you wish!)
12. I love our friends, both pups and humans, the ones that love us the way we are. (I kind of borrowed this one from Josephine. She's very smart and knows what's good in life. : )

*Anyone who wants to write about what they love is invited to play! Consider yourself tagged!

Love is special and true.

Well, friends. . . Mom is on the rampage. She said her heart just about falls out of her chest every time she sees a dog hanging out of the window of a car and we have been seeing A LOT of them lately! Some people seem to think it's cute, but it's downright dangerous. People think they love their pets so much, but then they let them hang out of the car window. Hello! Duh! It's almost just as bad when we see a dog sitting on a driver's lap while the car is going from point A to point B.

Please people. Get a doggie harness seatbelt. Mine is a "Four-Paws" and it's lined with fleece. We keep it hanging by the front-door along with my leashes and then we just grab it when we go places. People say, "It's too much trouble" or "I keep forgetting. " Just hang it with the leashes and you it will solve those issues. The more a pawrent puts it on, the faster they get so it becomes easier and easier. Speaking of "trouble," I think a pet that gets hurt because of a collision or falling out the window would be waaaaaay more trouble than wearing a harness seatbelt.

FYI:
Here's our routine.
1. Get stuff ready to go someplace.
2. Mom says, "Let's go!"
3. Get leash & seatbelt harness from the pegs by the front door.
4. Get "geared-up!"
5. Hit the garage.
6. Jump in the seat.
7. Sit down on the soft towel.
8. Mom reaches over, grabs the seatbelt and hooks it through the space in the seatbelt harness.
9. Off we go! I can sit-up or lay down. No problem!

There was a bill in California about requiring people to seatbelt their dogs. Silly that we have to make a bill for something that should be common sense. It was voted down, anyway.

I've always been good in the car, but with a harness-seatbelt, I am safe, too! Please get one for your pup! (Also, no letting your pup hang out of the car window, even if they seem to "like it." Pretty please.)

Okay, seven facts about me and one bonus! Here goes!

1. My newest nickname is "Pocket Rocket." Can you guess why? :
2. I am petite for a standard and weigh less than 35lbs.
3. When we visit my Granmille and she walks around at night wearing her long, white robe, I pretend she's a ghost and bark at her like crazy.
4. Sometimes when I am racing, I get a huge grin on my face.
5. Children are my delight and I am very gentle with them.
6. I am a prancer. Many people smile when they see me prance. They say, “Look! She prances!”
7. When riding in the co-pilot seat next to Mom, I am sometimes mistaken for a human. . . until I turn my head and people see my profile. Last week, someone in the car next to us took my picture!
8. I have made some nice human and pup friends on Dogster and I have even met some of them in person. . . Well, in dog, too!

I knew we were doing something special yesterday morning, but I didn't realize just HOW special things would be. As we drove to our special event, Mom had that happy, little smile on her face and told me that there would be a wonderful surprise. When we arrived, I saw people and dogs. . . Lots of dogs! I was a little nervous because there was so much going on. Mom and I waited on a grassy hillside and watched all the action below. People were setting up booths and dogs were walking around with people. There was so much to see! . . . Suddenly Mom said, "There they are!" Mom and I started walking and the next thing I knew, we were walking with Buddy Gorgeous and Pacey CGC (She's my CGC inspiration!) and their mom. I was so happy to see my friends and I gave them a happy hello! We walked to the registration tables and the next thing I knew, I saw Baby Ben, Suzy and Johnny T. along with their family. They got an enthusiastic hello from me, too. In fact, I jumped all over Ben especially. He's a bit shy and I like to be sure to give him attention. (Actually, he's a hunk and I sure love hunky pups! He's a "Wowee!" kind of guy for sure. : ) This was turning out to be a wonderful day and to top it off, Miss Chloe and her mom suddenly appeared, making it a perfect poodley day! The Pawty Pack was ready to step-out and we did. We walked with all those other dogs and people and even got our picture taken with Snoopy. What a cool guy he is! He is the biggest dog I've ever seen and kind of weird because he has a skin that comes off and he talks human! All in all, it was a fabulous day, and what really made it outstanding was being with my poodley pals from Dogster. You can see all of us in a pic on my page. Hooray for Dogster and my poodley pals! Let's have another adventure again, soon!

I just have to woof a little about poodle hair. I am thinking of this because recently Mom and I have landed on the haircut that works for me. We used to just do a lamb or puppy cut. My hair is dense and matts easily and I am not a fan of brushing. In fact, I try to leave the scene of the crime when Mom is brushing my matts out. Also, I am a black girl and black girls get hot in summertime and on sunny days. I also play very hard. I run, flip, play in the water, race, slide to get the ball, everything. Well, here is the haircut thing. Because I am a svelt girl, I look a little skinny with a close haircut, but Mom and I knew we need to keep my hair cut shorter. We had an idea. We had seen some dogsters with "bracelets" around their ankles and their body hair short and that sounded great to us! So, here I am with my new cut. We've had it cut twice. It works for me! But you wouldn't believe the comments we get. People just don't understand that Mom needs to keep my hair closer in order to help me stay clean. Poop sticks to my behind when my hair is long, among other things. The other day, when a poodle attacked me at the dog park, the man said, "Maybe it's the haircut." Can you believe that? Other people said, "She looks like a poodle now," and they sounded kind of disappointed. They are used to this tomboy-girl wearing her hair long and bringing home half the beach with her when Mom and I go to the beach. Can you imagine the walk back to the car when one brings home half the beach? We're talking heeeeavy! It is heavy carrying all that sand! . . . I am still my old tomboy self with my bracelets and short cut. It may look stylish (I am a stylish girl, after all!) and it's also very, very practical. I say, "Pffft" to those people who tease me now. "Pffft" to them. This is me. I am a stylish girl with a cute and practical cut and I just can't help it! So, "Pffft'!"

Did you know that you just might be lucky enough to meet your pup pals in dog (person)? Last Sunday, Mom and I got to go to a "Poodle Party" and it was a blast! I met Chloe, Pacey, Buddy and saw Johnny T, Cinnamon Bear and Baby again. We had pupcakes, posed for pics (Everyone was more experienced than me at this, but I got the hang of it), romped and raced and hung out. Our Moms got to make some new friends, too! Mom and I hope we can see everyone again, soon!

Friends at the dog park had told Mom about a local place where dogs can learn to "herd" and so, today, we gave it a try. We had wanted to do it in January, but I had the UTI and so today was my first herding experience. . . . I knew we were going someplace special because I can always tell when Mom is taking me to a place that is especially meant for dogs. When it is a new place that she thinks I will particularly like, she looks very pleased with herself as we drive that direction and she often talks to me about where we're going and what we'll see there. . .. This location was pretty close to home, too! . . . Mom had thought that us dogs would get to herd sheep around for at least 2.5 hours, but it wasn't quite like that. We arrived, signed the "release," signed the list, and waited. There were already several dogs (the "typical" herding kind : ) tied up to the fence that encircled the pen so Mom found me the shadiest place possible and it was way off at the end. A couple of dogs went and then it was my turn. Mom could barely believe that it came so quickly. This is how it went: A man gave Mom a few instructions and then brought three sheep into the pen. We entered the pen, too, and waited, me on my leash and Mom standing next to me. As soon as the man got to the other end of the pen and was near the sheep, he told Mom to take my leash off. . .. I was off!!!! I ran right for the sheep and started telling them where to go. I ran fast and moved the sheep around the pen, barking orders the whole time. Mom was surprised. She had told the man that it was my first time and he had said that we'd go in and give it a go. . . I think I made a few points for poodles in the minds of the people in charge as well as the people who had brought their "herding" dogs. When we were leaving the pen the first time, everyone said how well I did and seemed kind of pleasantly surprised. How about that? : ) (I even heard the man in charge say that I was a "star." - Do you think he says that to all the new dogs?) . . . Once I had tried herding for the first time, it was really hard to wait for my next turn. Mom walked me away from the fence a few times because I kept trying to say that I was READY to do it again! We even had to walk over behind the car because it was so hard for me to to see the other dogs having fun when I was left, waiting, outside the fence. Finally my turn came and I got to herd three different sheep! Once again, I ran fast and even brought in a sheep that was off by itself. That poor sheep might have become lost, but I brought it in! Yea, me! This time, I got the sheep through the fences that were in the middle of the pen. I think that was something good to accomplish, although Mom and I didn't get much input and really didn't know what we were doing. Just the same, when we left the pen the second time, people said I did great again and even asked how many times I'd been there. Well, diary, I think we can put this day on the calendar as a very, very fine day and one where I tried something that I'd love to do every day of the week! (But, wow! After herding and then spending a couple of hours at the dog park afterwards, I am going to sleep well tonight!)

My pals Marley and Sunny tagged me! They are such playful friends! Marley told 7 things about himself and Sunny told 7 things about himself, too, so I'll tell 7 things about myself. Then I will tag 7 pups! Seven is a lucky number for sure!

1 - I was born on February 9, 2006.

2 - All of the pups in my litter were identical black beauties. Mom says we look like eight Steiff pups in the pic on my Dogster Plus page. We play, "Where's Winnie?" with the photo, but I never tell!

3 - I am not a scarfer. I only eat IT if I really want it. (I always have room for cheese!)

4 - I am a diligent watch dog. I keep an eye on the entire neighborhood from the (low) wall by our yard and I can hear dogs, leashes, chains, motorcycles, skateboards and bouncing balls from very far away.

5 - When I am watch-dogging, I bark, bark, bark and give a status report to the whole neighborhood.

6 - I love to race! I race bikes that go by the dog park fence and I race the small dog racers who are in the small dog area of the dog park. When I am racing, I grin like crazy.

7 - When I'm at the dog park, I listen for loud motorcycles roaring by on the street that runs next to the park. When I hear a loud motorcycle roaring by, I take off, full-speed-ahead and haul all the way to the front of the dog park and all the way back to Mom again. Mom says I kick up dust clouds the whole way, just like a pony. People ask her, "What's wrong with your dog?" I guess they've never seen a pony-dog before!

Now I'm off to tag my pals: Domino, Beatrix, Baby Ben, Jasper, Teddy, Miss Molly and Chloe La Rue!

"I may be pretty, but I am all dog!"

My pal, Marley has tagged ME for a game! I love to play, so here's my diary entry!

(Note to those that I tag...Just copy the questions and delete my answers. Then tag four furriends to play along!)

Have fun!!!!

1)-What color is your collar? My collar is pink with pretty flowers on it. Mom bought me a pink collar because many people we met assumed: black dog. .. . must be a boy. Of all the nerve!

2)-What kind of food do you eat? I eat prescription diet: CD. I call it "Crystals Disappear," because that's what we're hoping will happen.

3)-What are your favorite treats? cheese and anything meat. . . Cheese is new and it's been an amazing discovery!

4)-Do you have a Valentine or significant other? Frazier. He's my boyfuriend at Sunny Dog Place daycare. (And I also love Domino, Luc, Benson, Baxter and Joey!)

5)-Do you get table scraps? Nope. Absolutely not. (We don't even have a kitchen, so we wouldn't even have table scraps in the normal way, but that's a long story. I also have never experienced "counter surfing" because we have never had a kitchen counter. Not the whole time I've been with Mom. But I think it's something I want to try someday. I think I'd like "table scraps," too. : )

6)-What is your favorite toy? My huge, stuff hedgehog that squeaks in five places, my squeaky mini soccerball and my huge, blue ball with the handle . . . Oh, did you mean just one toy? Oops!

7)-When is your birthday? February 9th . . . I just turned three!

8)-How many times a day do you get to eat? I get breakfast, lunch and dinner, according to my doctor's orders

9)-Do you have a favorite color? There are so many colors out there and I just love them all!

10)-Do you hope all your pals put this in their diary? I hope so..

My turn to tag!!! I will invite these doggies to play:
(You don't have to tag so many. I just went crazy because I've been cooped up all day!: )
1. Domino
2. Miss Molly
3. Teddy
4. Sonja
5. Cash
6.Chloe La Rue
7. Jeannie
8. Taco

Have fun, every pup!

I wanted to tell a little about it because it's kind of strange. There is a boss teacher who stands in the middle and tells the moms and dads how to be a boss. Then, the moms and dads practice being the boss by bossing us dogs around. "Sit." "Down." "Come!" "Stay!" My mom is learning to be bossy but that man in the middle is the bossiest of all!

Mom received a call from Dr. Abbott today. Dr. Abbott is my pawsome veterinarian. . . She said that I no longer have a urinary tract infection. Yea me! But she said that I still have "crystals" floating around. . . I just don't understand that at all! I am a good girl and don't go around eating things that are laying around. I am a meat eater! I have never, never, never eaten a crystal of any kind! My uncle's girlfriend, who is very girly, has loads of crystals around her house and we went there to visit during the holidays but I DID NOT eat any of Aunt Geneva's crystals. Honestly! That is my first area of concern. My second concern is that, as a result of this "crystal" stuff, I have to eat a food called "Crystals Disappear." Have you heard of it? Dr. Abbott called it "CD" for short, but she said that if I eat it, the crystals should disappear, so I know that's what she meant. Does anyone have any experience with "Crystals Disappear"? Is it good? I've had a lot of different foods lately and I'm a little tired of change and need to know if it will be something I'll like. Also, can anyone explain how crystals can get into the tummy of a good dog who has never eaten even one crystal?

As I have said recently, I am feeling a little better. Thank goodness, because life sure has been boring. Mom has kept me "in" . . . A-LOT! But things are looking up and today we even went to the Dog Beach in Long Beach. It's very near our home and I just love playing ball and running around in the sand and water when we go there! . . . Today we did not stay long enough for my liking. After about an hour and one-half or so, Mom and Domino's mom decided that the "vibes" (What is THAT about?) were getting a little "weird," (HUMPF!) and it was time to leave while we'd all had some successful fun. In no time at all, Mom put my leash on and, the next thing I knew, we were moving across the sand and back to the cars. At first it wasn't so bad because we were leaving together. But you know what? There came a point when I realized that I just hadn't had enough fun and I wasn't ready to leave and I thought Mom MUST know! So, I talked and talked and, when Mom didn't listen, I started yelling, "Mom! I am NOT finished! MOM! I am NOT finished! MOM! I am NOT FINISHED!" I yelled all the way across the sand and kept yelling when we crossed the bike path and went to our car. In the end, we left anyway, but I still think that there are just times when a dog MUST speak-up!

My mom says that good things come in small packages and now I understand what she means! You see, I am feeling a little better and can eat food other than the id prescription diet and Mom gave me a treat. It came in a little, white package. You must be very careful with it. The first time Mom gave one to me, she helped me open it. Now I can open it myself. She puts it in my dish with my food and "Crack!" I bite it and find something marvelous! Inside is a yummy treat of clear and yellowish runny stuff. It is wonderful and I absolutely love it! Sometimes I pick-up my white package ever so carefully and carry it to my bed. Then, I slowly and gently enjoy it until all of the runny stuff is gone. I am discovering that the package is a nice kind of chew, also! You see? Good things DO come in small packages, even for us canines!

Remember how I said that I am very talented when it comes to picking pills out of my prescription canned food? When we went to the vet yesterday, Mom got something new called "Pill Pockets." She tucks one pill each into a doughy "pocket" and presses the dough all around the pill. These "Pill Pockets" are the coolest thing and completely disguise the taste of the medication. I take all of my pills now and think I will be in the pink very soon!

I'm a bit under the weather. No herding for me today, as planned. Instead, another visit to my vet to check out why I'm having tummy problems. Bummer. Mom took me to the emergency vet in the middle of the night during early December for the same thing. This time it was some fuids, more ID, pills (Love them! Not!) and no fun (No dog park until we figure why I'm getting sick). I didn't even feel like barking at the kitties at the vet today and there were some who would have loved talking to me. In fact, there was a cute black and white tux kitty who had just been rescued from a feral colony and was talking and talking in a very loud voice! I wish I understood "Cat" better. . . Anyway, no dinner tonight or breakfast tomorrow morning. The good thing is that I loved the ID last time and I learned about the beauty and yumminess of canned food, so there is at least a bright side to all of this!

P.S. I am very good at picking pills out of wet food and quietly deposting them in an entirely different room. Maybe mom should add that to my list of tricks!

I earned a new nickname this week. Here is my story: My mom and I were visting Granmille in San Diego for Christmas and New Year's. I could hardy wait to get there because I knew that my cousin, Luc, and his mom, Julia would be there, too. Being with Luc always means fun and adventure and Julia suggested that we visit a fabulous dog park in San Diego on Fiesta Island. Luc had been there before but it was new to me. Well, let me just say that it is HUGE and spectacular and that is an understatement and a dog can find something to their liking, no matter what they love. We loved it so much that we went two days in a row. On the first day, Luc and I ran and ran across the expansive, grassy area, raced up and down the berms that run next to Mission Bay, explored the shoreline and romped and waded in the water, too. We ran our little hearts out and I never stopped moving the whole time we were there. There is one very special thing about this park: If you're a dog who likes fast and wheeled things such as bicycles and likes to race, you will be sorely tempted to race with the bikes that whizz along, next to the fence and on the road next to the park. Soon after we arrived I discovered this bonus and took off running to have some racing fun. Racing is one of my particular talents and I zoomed across the grass and to the bike fence so fast that all the folks at the park stopped and stared. It was absolutely wonderful! Mom called, "Come," and I raced back to her. Later, I heard a lady tell Mom that I was a very fast runner and Mom respond saying, "Yes she is and sometimes it works for us and sometimes it doesn't," which is not a comment I could understand. Fast running is always an admirable talent in a dog and I made sure to keep an eye on the bicycle fence and visit it again to race with a few more bicycles that day. Just the same, when Mom called, "Come," I came, even if it took a little while for me to turn around. (It's hard to stop and turn when you're a dog who is traveling very fast, you know!) As we rode home in Julia's CR-V, I heard mom call me a "P F Flyer" and say that it was because I could "run faster and jump higher," just like the P F Flyer motto that Mom remembered. We all felt that our first visit to Fiesta Island was a spectacular success! . . . Well, because the first visit to Fiesta Island was so pleasant, we decided to return the next morning. Luc was reacquainted with the park and I was now familiar with it too, so we felt very self-assured and enjoyed running on the grass and along and up and down the berms and finding wonderful surprises such as a ball that was floating in the bay, just out of reach. I tried and tried to get that ball and almost learned to swim on my own when my feet came off of the ground while I was in the bay! Overall our second visit went well, except that I had trouble hearing mom when she called me back to her ALL of the times that I took off racing along the bike fence. In fact, I even impressed myself when I was racing a bike and, upon coming to a fallen-down section of fence that had been out of sight and around a bend, I lept over the fallen fence and barbed wire and the next thing I knew, I was on the road, racing the bike! I was flying and it was glorious! I went far, too, and then, when I turned around and ran back to the fallen fence section, Mom was standing on the other side of the fence and had a funny expression on her face and her hands were up to her face, too. She was yelling for the bikes and cars to stop. Do you think Mom wanted to make sure they saw my spectacular running and leaping? I do! Well, they stayed stopped until Mom helped me find a way back into the dog park and then you know what Mom did? She put my leash on right away and, although I tried to tell her that I wanted to race more bikes, I had to walk on leash all the way to the exit and Luc didn't. . . . On the way home, I heard Mom say again that I am definitely a P F Flyer and can most assuredly run faster and jump higher and I am confident that I have proven it true!

Mom and I went to the park and I made my special entrance, jetting out of the gate and making a lightening-fast diagonal to the dog racing fence where a couple of speedy small dogs wanted to race with me. After that I went to find my mom and that's when I got my very special surprise. My cousin, Luc was there along with my Auntie Julia and Gramille! I jumped all over Luc, just so he'd know that I still love him like crazy. Then I kissed Auntie Julia and jumped all over Gramille, too! I like this kind of surprise! Luc and Auntie Julia live in The Bay Area and Gramille lives in San Diego and I haven't seen them since last summer and there they were at the same dog park that I go to all the time! I am just crazy about Luc and we wrestle and tease when we are together. We ran together and played ball and then I did a little showing-off. I showed everyone how I can run very far, very fast, leaving dust clouds behind me. I also showed how I can jump very high and flip, too. It was a blast! Then, I got to jump up into the back of Luc's Honda with HIM and we rode to the restaurant TOGETHER. (This is one of our special things to do together : ) At night, Luc and I switched beds: He slept in my bed and I slept in his. . . Luc stayed the entire weekend and I just can't wait to see him again, hopefully, at Thanksgiving. I am so lucky that my Auntie Julia chose a dog as terrific as Luc and that we get to have rowdy fun together, at least, a few times a year! (I call him "Magical Luc, because he is absolutely wonderful and I adore him!) I hope I get this excellent surprise again and very soon, too!
