It has not been the greatest week. Actually all winter I have been having problems. My legs joints seem to be trying to go the same way as Neddy's. I have been into the Vet for this and on medication, which helped me at the beginning of Winter. The last few weeks I have been having a hard time walking or getting up from when I've been sleeping.

Last year, if you remember, I went down and could not get up. Momma had to help me out of the sitting position for nearly 2 weeks. That's when Dr.Boden put me on Rimady. I was doing really well when I went in December for my check up. Then about two weeks ago I tripped and fell to my side making me limp with my left hind leg. Now I'm having a problem with my front legs from putting more pressure on them. I don't cry out but that is not an indication on how much I may be hurting. I tore the nail out of it's bed two years ago and had to have surgery to repair it. I got it stuck in the security screen and jerked it out before Momma could help me. I did not cry out at all. In fact Momma would not have known how bad it was if she did not see blood everywhere.

Momma will be taking me to my vet on Monday if things have not changed. She is afraid I'm going to hurt myself worse being unstable like I am. Please anyone who may read this keep me in prayer. My Momma and Daddy are very worried about me. I still have a wonderful appetite, and still try to chase the cats away from my kibble (not that I can catch them),:) so that is great. My attitude is good, I'm not grouchy at all and still my same loving self. It's just that I cannot walk steadily. Please no rosies..that's not what I'm asking for at all. Just your love and prayers.

Love Sweet Caroline xoxoxo

It was a LONG day at the Vet yesterday! We spent over 2 hours there!! I kept trying to leave cuz I was sick of it!:)) I kept pulling Momma to the doors trying to go home.

I was checked to see how I'm walking and I'm doing very well on the treatment of Rimadyl once a day and the Glucosamine I'm taking. My heart is doing great and then I had to have a comprehensive blood test. That part was the hardest for Mom and Dad to wait for. Well they had to take Georgie in today and they got the results of my blood test back. It is all PERFECT!!!! Yay!!! Mom was so happy to hear good news she almost cried. She said it was the best $300.00 she's spent in a LONG, LONG TIME!

Georgie was a pip though! He was being a cocky rooster and had just got done putting his nose into a plant in the waiting room that was SOAKED with male markings. He had to hike REALLY BAD to return the call...so not finding anything else he hiked on Mom's leg!!:-O She forgot where she was and said loud..Georgie what did you DO??? That was the best part and all the office was laughing including the doc and patients AND Dad!!

The best part of today is that George's heart murmur has been downgraded from a grade two/three to a grade ONE! That means the strict diet of no salt and the Enalaprel is working!!! Mom is so happy she feels like she's floating!! It has been a very good day! xoxoxo

We lived in Arkansas in 1997 and where we were staying, a pickup of two men with a back bed full of pups came up into our yard. They told us that if we wanted the pups we could have them and if not they were either going to turn them loose in the woods or shoot them........well, needless to say, we adopted the whole litter. They were shared among the family , and now we have 2 left of these dogs in California, and placed the one who was too big to be in my small California city yard, on a cattle farm in Arkansas. His name is Butchie and he is TOP DOG and goes with his new Daddy everywhere. He became a cattle dog. We have had these lovely dogs since they were 5 weeks old and blue eyed babies and promote adoption 100 percent.

"He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds; my other ears that hear above the winds. He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea. He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being; by the way he rests against my leg; by the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile; by the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him. (I think it makes him sick with worry when he is not along to care for me.) When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive. When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile. When I am happy, he is joy unbounded. When I am a fool, he ignores it. When I succeed, he brags. Without him, I am only another man. With him, I am all-powerful. He is loyalty itself. He has taught me the meaning of devotion. With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace. He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant. His head on my knee can heal my human hurts. His presence by my side is protection against my fears of dark and unknown things. He has promised to wait for me... whenever... wherever - in case I need him. And I expect I will - as I always have. He is just my dog."

Tis the day after Thanksgiving and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The puppies were snuggled all tired in their bed.
With visions of turkey still dancing in their head.

And Mom with her Rolaids and Dad with a pain,
Had just settled their tummies, no TURKEY AGAIN!
When out in the kitchen there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter!

Away to the fridge I flew like a flash,
There Caroline was eating Turkey, then I heard a big CRASH!
She had pulled the shelf down, to the floor below,
The glass was all broken, it looked like it snowed.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear?
Mom in her nightgown, all covered in tears.
Dad was right behind her, so fast and so quick,
I knew in a moment, Sweet Caroline was sick!

She ate all the turkey, she ate all the pies.
She ate and she ate, til the food filled her eyes.

Go Caroline, Go Georgie, go fast to your bed,
I must clean this up now, run fast, FAST I said!
To the top of the bed, to the bed by the door,
Now dash away, dash away, I must clean the floor!

She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work,
And cleaning the floor, she turned with a jerk!
She filled up the dustpan, and garbage can too,
She swept, and she mopped, til the mess was all through!

Then she sprang back to bed, with her mind in a fog,
Restraining the urge to spank such a dog.
And I heard her soft whisper as she fell back in bed.
No Turkey next year!
We will just eat the BREAD!

Woofs to all my beloved furrryiends. I hope all is well with you. All is with me, except my Mommie has been having a hard time getting me to go outside after dark. You see for days Mommie couldn't think what happened...did someone throw something at me? Did someone yell at me? What happened? No matter how hard I tried to tell her she just couldn't understand, so she goes out with me so I won't be afraid.
I even was causing Georgie to be afraid....not that he understood of what, but I guess he figures if I am as big as I am and afraid, he better be too! Now Mommie really was mad......did someone hurt me?
She tried to bribe me with treats in her pocket.....she even carried me out so I could go to the bathroom. She praised me like a puppy.....NOTHING WORKED!
Well, finally she figured it out. Daddy put a fly zapper right outside the backdoor and everytime a bug would fly into it, it buzzed. It scared me to death. I tried to tell her.
Mommie had it unplugged, and now I can go out during the daytime alone, or with Georgie, but night? No way, I am too used to her going with me now. She has to go too.
Now Mommie is wondering what is going to happen when it starts raining....BOL!

Well my Woofie brothers and sisters, I tell you now, I couldn't hide. I told you yesterday that my brother Georgie and I overheard my Mommie talking about taking us in to get our nails clipped. She found me. I just wasn't quick enough.
I did give her a hard time though. I crawled under the bed and she had to pull me out. Boy, did I struggle. I knew where we were going. I don't know, somehow I know it isn't for a walk, by the tone of her voice, and the way she acts. When Mommie put my harness on I started howling...BOL! Now that threw her for a sec. But it didn't help. So, I lay down on my side. HAH! Maybe that will work, NO. I still had to go.
That silly George thought it was fun........that is until we got to the vet. He would have made you all proud of him. Boy did he struggle when he realized what was going to happen to him. I was one proud hound and glad to call him my brother.
Now me? My Dad had to hold me tight. I put up a stuggle and almost started howling again, but my Mommie started rubbing my face and that makes me so sleepy everytime, so I lost my train of thought. and they went ahead and clipped my nails.
Then they tried to give me a phony "treat" from the vet....OH NO WAY! It smacked too much on a bribe. No one bribes ME!
Well, needless to say, I lived through the ordeal and we came home and I got a real treat.
I still love Mommie, but she does take us to some awful places.
That is all I have to say now about all that...think I will take a nap. Woofs to all my furriends.

Woofs! and two paws up to all my Woofie brothers and sisters. I am just a hound dog that likes to lay around and wait for food to drop to the floor, but today was a day that I had to be faster to go under the bed before my brother George could get the good spot.
My Mommie's human daughter came over with all three of her human litter. Those two little human pups are sooooooooo noisy that I hide.
I hid that is, until the bbq was done and the good stuff on the table. Then I crawled out from under the bed and lay under the table knowing that things will be dropped. Some of them even a decent hound wouldn't normally eat, but to keep George from getting it I dive on whatever falls. The worse thing is Daddy this time remembered to take up the grease that falls from the bbq'er, and I couldn't lap it. Howl!
One thing did happen to cheer me up...my brother George found this funny thing that I learned a long time ago to not touch. My Mommie calls it a balloon. Well, George I don't think ever saw one before, so he grabbed it in his teeth....like he does everything, and he took off running with his "prize". He learned his lesson the hard way. That balloon popped in his mouth, stinging his nose. My Mommie and my human sister laughed so hard, and even though hounds have an expressionless face, I was laughing so hard I almost piddled on the floor. Of course that made my day..BOL!
That is all I have to report right now...but I will be back again to bark you another day.
I love you my Woofie Furriends, and good night for now.....
P.S. I am sure my brother asked too, but we overheard our Mommie and Daddy talking about getting our nails clipped tomorrow.....bark and howl really hard that we can find a good hiding place. PLEASE!!
