Mom was beginning to think she was overloading everything in the house--yeah, like all of a sudden??!! Went back to lay down and snuggle with Doo (what else is there to do exactly with no power??) and when she got up, turned on the TV, yet again, and the first story was "Rolling Power Outages Around Town". OHH, so that's what it is! A WHAT???!! WHAT IS THAT?!! Well, seems like the city is turning off power at random places around town to help the rest of the state due to the extreme weather going on everywhere. HUH? We've NEVER heard of this! Its never happened before as long as mom's been alive, and that's a LONG time! Here's what the TV said... "SAN ANTONIO -- Rolling blackouts continued to affect the entire San Antonio area Wednesday morning as frigid temperatures placed huge demands on the local power grid. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), which manages electric power to 22 million Texas customers, has declared a level 3 Energy Emergency Alert. ERCOT urges customers to reduce consumption of energy due to an overload on the system. Level 3 requires "firm load shedding" to restore and maintain system frequency, according to the council. In San Antonio, City Public Service reported that 74,000 customers were without power at 9 a.m., including several area schools. The blackouts are reportedly lasting at least 30 minutes and even up to an hour, and they're taking place to preserve energy in other areas. Many traffic lights were out across the city, causing major delays at intersections during the morning commute." ____ So, we don't know if its gonna happen again, they said we can have up to 4 of them today. So, we just gotta wait and see what happens. Has anyone ever had this in their city before? What about my San Antonio friends, did ya'll have black outs too?? AND, they're talking up to 1/2 inch of snow for us tomorrow and Friday. We'll see about that one.
