The pawrents didn't spend Thanksgiving at home with us. They left early in the morning and were gone most of the day. It didn't matter to me - I just slept most of the day. Bodhi on the other hand didn't deal well with the pawrents being gone. He had to find something to entertain himself. He decided to see just how much stuffing 2 throw pillows from the couch could hold. You would be surprised at how much stuffing there is in those 2 little suckers. The answer is enough stuffing to cover the living room floor!

So, since we didn't go with the pawrents, the giblets were brought home for us to enjoy. Mum forgot about them till last night. She popped them into the microwave for 30 seconds to just take the chill off them, then set them back on the counter till she was done eating her dinner.

Well, she was just taking too long and I couldn't wait any more. You guessed it, I helped myself (when oh when will they learn!) Mum came into the kitchen and all that was left on the floor was the turkey neck. She quickly picked it up. I wasn't happy and wanted the rest of what was MINE!

Mum shared it with all of us...........I still think it should be finders keepers. Whatevah!

Mom made a pumpkin pie yesterday morning and then baked 3 meatloaves. (She makes them now, puts them in the freezer and has a quick dinner later!)

Anyhow, I could smell the drippings from that meat. Mum had cooked the meatloves on a cookie sheet covered with foil, so the drippings just HAD to be for our pack.......right?

Well, Mum was taking just too darn long to share, so I helped myself. Mum heard the rustling of foil (darn that stuff anyhow!) She came to the kitchen and there I was standing over the foil that I had pulled from the counter onto the floor.

Mum got the hint and put what was left from the meat onto our food. Sometimes you just have to remind the pawrents what they are to do! BOL

I've been wanting in the bedroom with dad the last couple of days. I'm not allowed in there any more because when I would be in there with Levi, I was peeing on the pawrents bed.

Now, I don't like to be told "no". So, after repeated attempts to get into the bedroom and being denied...............I peed on the couch cushion where dad sits.

I think I've made my point.

I was outside this morning. Minding my own business....when all of a sudden I was attacked! It was Sandy. She's been a bit crazy lately and this just adds to it. She jumped out of the first floor bedroom window (no screen in the window). She pushed the fan out of the way and was there attacking me.

Mum realized what was going on and came running out calling for Dad to help. I was doing very well all by myself thankyouverymuch! I had Sandy on her back and had her by the throat. She wasn't going to pick a fight with me again.

Dad grabbed the 2 of us and Sandy bit the side of my face as Dad was getting us apart. Mum held me while Dad took Sandy into the house.

I'm okay - have 2 scraps from teeth on my left thigh and a bite mark on the side of my jaw. Sandy is hurting - Dad sez she can't jump up on the bed. It's probably from jumping out the window, dummy! Hey - I was just protecting myself. She came flying out the window at me.

Dad shut the lower window and put the fan in the upper part of the window. She won't be pulling that trick again.

Sandy isn't spayed - she is scheduled for August 18.......Mum knew that was too long to wait and that she'd be in heat again, but the vet is behind and couldn't do it till then. Mum sez that's why she's acting crazy again. I don't care what her reason is - she just better stay away from me!

Dad didn't realize it, but he made me work for my food. Yesterday when he left to get mum and then go to the store, I could smell something in the kitchen. I'm not a big dog, so it took some work, but I finally got what I could smell.........A MEATLOAF just for me. Dad had put it WAYYYYY back on the counter, but not far enough. (Mum isn't sure why he didn't use the microwave or the oven to thaw the meatloaf.)

How many of us devoured their dinner? We weren't telling, but there was nothing left but a few pieces of ziplock bag and the pink zipper thing.

*burp*...... where's my dessert??

That right - Sandy is with us for the weekend. It's going to be a LONG weekend. She and I have already been in a fight - she started it, but I didn't back down!

Dad is going to be away on Saturday and Sunday during the day so Mum will be here with ALL of us both days. There are a couple of problems with this:

1. Levi and Bodhi still have to be kept separate. MUCH easier to do when there are 2 humans doing the job.

2. Sandy and I - nuff said on that one.

3. Mum hurt her back this morning putting Molly outside (see below). Mum's walking like a pretzel and using a cane AND has many dogs underfoot.

4. Molly hasn't learned the electric fence yet, so the pawrents are hooking her out on a cable. That's difficult to do with a bum back.

I'm thinking by Sunday night that Dad is gonna wish he was here this weekend - could be ugly for everybody!

Mum and Dad stayed home last night for New Year's Eve. They watched "Fred Claus" then they watched the ball drop. Dad then proceded to run out one door of the house and in the other door - something about taking the bad out and bringing the good in ( I think he should have taken Sandy out with him then and left her! BOL)

So just shortly after midnight, mum and dad headed to bed. That's when he found it - the present that I left for him! I peed on his side of the bed - right by his pillow! I've actually done this a couple of times lately, but I thought this was the perfect way to end the year.....let him know that I'm not happy with him touching Sandy and giving her attention.

Mum and Dad had to strip the bed and remake it. Hey - what more could they ask for - clean sheets to start the new year!!!

I have the itchies! I've never had this happen before in the winter. We have heard of other dawgs here on dogster that get very dry, itchy skin in the winter. Mum and Dad have a humidifier running hoping to put more moisture in the air. While that seems to be helping them with their headaches, it's not done anything for my skin.

Mum ordered some stuff online and it was shipped yesterday. We're hoping it's here by the end of the week. It was stuff that Sheba's family used on her in the winter for her skin. It helped her.....I sure hope it helps me!

Mum was in the kitchen this morning unloading the dishwasher. She heard dogs making more noise than usual outside. She looked out the kitchen door and saw me, Sandy, Bo, Levi and Tanner all in a pile. It looked to mum that Sandy was getting the worst of it. Without thinking, mum runs out of the house carrying the silverware caddy from the dishwasher (still full of clean silverware) - she's yelling for Dad to help her and she grabs the shovel as she runs by it. She's in flip flops (we have about 10 - 12 inches of snow on the ground). Dad gets to the door and sees mum running through the yard with the silverware caddy and a shovel yelling at the dogs. He takes off out the door in his bare feet - what silly humans.

Mum got us all apart - Dad picks up the silverware caddy that mum seemed to throw into the snow at some point. They get us all back into the house - check everybody over and tend to their frozen feet that are hurting.

I'm the only one with a war wound - hard to tell who I got it from. It's just a small nick the the top of my leg. Mum is at her wits end with me and Sandy. She thinks that it might be time for Sandy to be out of here. She's going to check with the preacher at our church again - he thought he might be interested in Sandy. If he's not interested, she's not sure what else to do. Mum knows it's a dominance issue between me and Sandy, but doesn't know that she can be patient enough for us to work it out.

Granmaw is still here with her 2 dogs. She wanted to go shopping today, but is afraid to leave us all alone for the afternoon. (We were good yesterday while they were gone.) I'm just going to nap this afternoon and pray that Pastor Dave wants Sandy!

I have been good and have tried to give Sandy (the foster dog we have) time to settle in. At first I completely ignored her - that worked for me when we got Bodhi! BOL Well, it's just NOT working this time. Sandy is a real bitch (mum sez I can call her that cuz she doesn't seem to be spayed and therefore the word does apply to her!)

I've gotten to the point of just staying in Mum and DAd's bedroom on the bed to avoid Sandy. Whenever I'm around her, she nips at me ALL the time. I can just take so much of that. So, on Sunday I let her know who is the boss. Actually, I let her know a couple of times on Sunday. I left a mark right by her yappy mouth!
Okay, Bodhi was tagged a 2nd time. I thought rather than hearing him drone on about himself again, I would jump on that opportunity and tell you 7 facts about me.

1. I’m the smallest one in the pack, but I RULE the pack!
2. I’m not your typical lovey, cuddly dog – you only get to cuddle with me when I’m ready for it.
3. I just LOVE pork! Given the chance, I will steal it off the counter, drag it out the doggie door and try to hide the raw roast outside for later nibbling.
4. I’ve been told that I have dainty paws…..which when I’m standing on your leg (or some other body part) feels like a stick being jammed into you.
5. I, like Mulligan, have butt doodles. At my house, Dad calls me swirly bum.
6. If you don’t already know it, I’m a huntress. If something is in my yard/basement that doesn’t belong there, I will let you know. (Hear that you varmint in the basement right now – you are MINE!)
7. I’m not very pleasant when rudely awakened from my beauty sleep. You are best keeping your distance.

Okay – that’s about all I have time for. I have to go check the yard and see if there are any intruders!

I've been obsessing about something that's in the basement or in the vent of the house. I just sit looking down the basement steps. Mum has left the door open between the basement and the back cellar for me (that's where I want to be - in the back cellar.)

Sunday morning, I wanted to go to the basement but wouldn't. Mum kept telling me that the door was open - to go check it out. Nah - wasn't going. So, she gets a basket of towels and sheets to wash and heads to the basement. I run to the bottom of the steps and right back up. Mum calls me to come with her as she gets to the bottom of the steps and steps onto the tile. One step........two steps........squish!

What Mum didn't know and couldn't see (because of the clothes basket she was carring) was that someone (most likely Sandy) had gone to the basement during the night and had MASSIVE poohing issues on the floor. Mum stepped right in the first pile! Her flip flop stuck in it.....she just stood frozen. Now she knew why I wouldn't go to the basement! I'm not stupid!

Mum left her shoe in the pooh, put the clothes into the washer and retreated back upstairs. She wasn't even sure how to go about cleaning up the basement floor. Dad got up a short time later and she told him about the poohing. He got the shovel.....yes, the shovel and headed to the basement. He thought it looked like a horse had been down there!

So, my basement floor is now cleaned and I can go back to obsessing about what's down there.

Well, yesterday wasn't as bad and I thought it was going to be. You see - after the pawrents left, either Bodhi or Bo Cephus opened the door to the pawrents bedroom! BOL! We spend the day sleeping on their bed - our favorite place to be. The pawrents were happen when they came home because the couch survived and so did everything else!

For my birthday, they brought home beef sticks and a couple of new balls. The football and baseball have already bit the dust - gone. All you see are pieces laying all over the floor. What fun!

We got ham added to our food for dinner and then frosty paws! They are delicious! I'm a slow eater, so Mum had to hold it for me while I licked it (so nobody else would take it). I eventually realized I could bite it and then it was gone! Can't wait till we have those again. The rest of the pack woofed theirs down in no time.

So yesterday was a good day and then there is today. I'm one of the diary picks of the day. Mum thinks that's the first time that one of our pack has been there. BOL!

I'm thinking this is going to be a GREAT week!

Huh - Mum and Dad are leaving early this morning to head to Pittsburgh to have brunch with their human family. Then they are going to watch the Steeler game. It'll be late when they get back to us.

Why should I care?? Well, today is my 4th birthday. I know Mum made frosty paws for us, but when will we get them? Also - since the incident with the couch last week, Dad has gotten a little smarter. The couch has been flipped over - cushion side down. There isn't going to be any laying/sleeping/chewing on the couch today. We can't get to the cushions - just Bodhi woobies on the floor for us today. This stinks!

I'm gonna see what else I can lead the pack into destroying today. BOL

I will admit that I’m obsessive. I fixate on something and just don’t give up. I’m one of the main reasons that we have an electric fence to keep us in the yard. The last time that my collar came off outside and I took off, I was gone for 8 hours. That is the only day of work that Mum has missed in 4 ½ years – staying home waiting for ME!

Tanner is still without a working collar since Levi escaped over a month ago and ruined his collar swimming in the lake. Levi needed the collar and Tanner doesn’t. Tanner can follow Dad out to the garden and back – BOL – NOT fair!

Well, Dad must have been feeling guilty last night about Tanner getting to leave the zone and not the rest of us. Dad took my “big girl” collar off and hooked me up to the leash. I was all excited. We walked across the driveway. Dad walked out of the zone and I stopped dead in my tracks at the edge of THE ZONE. I know what happens when I cross that line! No thank you – I’m not stepping over that line. Mum yelled out to Dad that he would have to pick me up and carry me over “the line”. He did just that. I was on the other side of “the line” now. SO many new smells to checkout. I could hear the rest of the pack barking at me. Mum had them all in the house, but they were on the deck and could see where I was. I didn’t care about them – I was busy. I ran here, sniffed there. This was great, but it all ended too soon. It was Levi’s turn.

So there I am – back in the zone with my collar back on watching Dad take Levi to the wonderful place that I had just been. As Dad walked over the line – Levi stopped. (Hello! DUH! Dad, what aren’t you getting about this?) Dad bent down to pick up Levi, but it didn’t go as smoothly as it did with me. Levi pulled out of his regular collar – he was free of all collars and no leash holding him, but he didn’t realize it. Dad quickly got his collar back on him and that was the end of our evening excursion.

Probably a good thing that happened with Levi, because I heard the pawrents talking about letting Bodhi out of the zone – maybe even without a leash. They keep referring to the video of Bodhi in Texas with Izzy where he’s walking her and nobody is holding his leash. How could they think that would be a good idea? Who’s suppose to be the more intelligent ones here??? It’s a good thing that someone in this pack is in control!

In our house, there are 2 water dishes/bowls for us to drink from. One is plastic and one is metal. (We use to have one that dispensed water as you drank it, but I didn't like the gluging sound.) Anyhow, I refuse to drink from the metal dish no matter how thirsty I am. I will even sit and stare down Dad's drink with ice before drinking out of the metal bowl.

We all seem to prefer the plastic bowl, but the others will drink from the metal dish if the plastic one is empty. Mum thinks I don't like the metal dish because my tags ding on the dish when I'm drinking. Then again, we have 4 metal food dishes and 1 non metal food dish. I'm not picky about which food dish I eat out of - just what I drink out of. If my plastic bowl is empty and Mum's in the bathroom, I will paw at the shower door to get in there and lick the water up off the floor of the shower.

Anybody else that picky (Mum sez neurotic) about your water bowl?

Now, I'm not writing this to upset any dawg or human on dogster - but why when we see a human body with a dog face attached is the human always thin/well built and gorgeous? Come on - what kind of message are we sending to others on dogster? Next thing you know we'll have dawgs binging and purging - trying to get that model figure. What's wrong with a chubby chica - not like that 44 pound cat that was recently in the news, but not rail thin either. Can't we just be happy with "normal"?

Dad was in Pittsburgh on Friday getting his truck inspected. Some woman was there at the same time. She said she was in a hurry and needed her car done as soon as possible - they were going to the mountains for the weekend.

Dad, being the social person that he is, asked her where she was going. She said they have a cabin on the Yough Lake. He told her that's where we live (we're on the opposite side of the lake). They proceeded to chat about living in the mountains and she eventually said she had a chocolate lab. Dad asked her if she's ever walked her dog around the lake. She said she had, but that there were some dogs on the other side of the lake that run wild and scare her. She walks now till she hears them barking and then turns back the other way.

Well, how do you like that! She was talking about us - my pack! Dad told her that those dogs were his and that we didn't run wild - we have an electric fence. Dad told her to stop over today on her walk.

Guess what - she never showed! BOL That's right - we are to be feared! I'm doing my job!!!

There was something outside that I wanted this morning – it started about 5AM. I barked and barked till Dad finally let me outside and then I stopped. I was happy – out patrolling the grounds. By this time, Mum was wide-awake and got up early. (That was my first job completed for the day!)

When Mum was ready to leave for work – she looked so pretty! She had a meeting today so had taken extra time getting ready – nice fuchsia silk blouse that she had washed and pressed especially for today. I wanted to let her know how nice she looked, so when she went into the bathroom to finish getting ready, I jumped up on her bum to let her know! I think it made her very happy – she was jumping around and talking loudly. She then went back into the bedroom and came out wearing something else, muttering about dog footprints. She quickly hurried out of the house saying she was going to be late and thanked me! I LOVE MY MUM! BOL Well, second job completed for the day!

I’m tired – heading back to bed now.

It seemed to start as a typical morning. Mum got up - let us out and she went about her morning stuff.

All was fine, till I caught wind of something that didn't belong in my area. I alerted Dad. He saw what the problem was. On the road in front of the house, some animal had been hit. Dad went down in the truck with the shovel. (He didn't tell Mum, but he thought it might be Meesha - our cat that is living in the garage right now.) It wasn't Meesha - it was a opposum......A mommy opposum that didn't make it (Dad said there were babies, too).

I wanted down there with him, but it was out of my yard zone. I stayed behind to keep the family safe while Dad wasn't there.

On a brighter note - Mum saw her first humming bird at the feeder this morning. She was trying to keep us quiet, but we scared it away. The birds have been busy at the feeder, too. I keep watch over that area. Have to keep the birds in line, too!

I really don’t have much time for this. You see I’m typically busy patrolling my property. It’s my job to keep intruders out of my area. This would include the occasional opossum, bird, deer, blowing leaf – you get the picture.

Yesterday, Dad was home with us (he’s saying he was still sick, but Mum thinks he just wanted to spend time with Vince – her grandson.) Levi, Bo and I were outside – Tanner was in the house sucking up to Dad. Suddenly, I smelled something that should NOT be in my area. I started barking which alerted Bo and Levi that we had an intruder! By the time Dad and Tanner got to the door to see what we were barking at, all 3 of us were very upset and had hair standing up on our backs! Dad looked in the direction we were barking. He wasn’t sure he was seeing correctly, but he thinks he saw a bear cub which would mean Mama bear was in the area, too. Not to fear, our ferocious barking scared it away – we were successful!

Everybody went back inside the house except me. I took my place back at the edge of my boundary – patrolling the property for intruders.
