I am ok with the bandanna. It doesn't bother me too much. Except when the little ball makes a noise. Stupid Bell. It's the Santa hat pinned to my collar that I object to. And being made to sit still like a well behaved dog while they snap pictures. At least I got liver treats out of it (it's the only way they got me to stay BOL)Now there is talk of dressing me up on Xmas day! Well! I am NOT going to stand for that carry on!
A friend of mine is missing. His name is Blue - officially Yukonwind's Doobie Blues.

I still believe that he is alive and I still believe that he will be found. I have to believe... what would I do if I were missing? Would my humans look for me... would they still look for me after 2 months? after 6? Would other people help them or would they be all alone too? Would someone find me and try to make me theirs? Would I wonder searching for food and shelter? I'd be scared... this I know

Blue is alive, I feel it, but he's scared. He wants to come home and he wonders if anyone cares... if anyone is looking for him.

My humans live ma whole hemisphere away. They have never met Blue or Blue's humans but they are trying in any way to help... help spread the word, help find blue.

So... why help strangers, why help find a dog you don't know?
For many reasons, but mostly because they know that this could just as easily be me. How helpless would any of us pups, kitties or humans feel? Who else could we turn to who would truly understand? We do this because we put ourselves in the shoes of Blue and Blue's humans and because we've come to know that even as strangers, we'd be there for each other...

We do it for our own pack. We do it for the friends we've made here - we do it because we know if any one of us is in need, we will be there for each other.

We do it because Blue needs us... and we all have something to offer, we can all help and add to a sum that is so much bigger than just one.

Please help us - please post this in your diary. Please click here to go to WhereIsBlue.com and help us get Blue home!! and share it with your friends, ask your humans to share it with there friends. Please pay this forward - we would do the same for you.

Blue, a black and white Siberian Husky (4 year old male, brown eyes, microchipped) has been missing since May 8, 2007 from Brighton, MI.

BEING LOST -- FROM A DOG'S PERSPECTIVE

The gate was left open
one bright sunny day
So I thought I would go,
explore, run, and play.

Seeing new things,
this is such fun!
But where do I go,
now that I’m done?

Was it back this way,
or maybe that
Where is my home?
I want to go back.

I have on my collar,
it’s red, white and blue
But, I don’t have my tags
to give someone a clue.

A man comes and gets me,
puts me in his truck
He’s taking me home,
Oh, what luck!

Wait a minute,
this isn’t my home
I’m stuck in a cage,
scared and alone.

People come see me,
so I wag my tail
I love the attention
I get in this jail.

The food is okay,
and the bed is too
But I really miss home,
yet what can I do?

I miss my yard,
my bed, and my ball
But, I miss my master
the most of all.

Where is my master?
It must have been weeks
I know he will come.
He really loves me.

Then someone takes me
down a long hall
I’m confused and uncertain,
I stare at the wall.

I feel a prick,
things start to go dark
I think of my master
and me in the park.

I’m going to sleep now
with him on my mind
Little do I know,
my fate has been signed.

I pray when I wake,
he will be there
Holding me close,
stroking my hair.

I’m sorry I strayed,
who knew the cost?
But it doesn’t have to happen
when dogs get lost.

Daddy decided tonight was the night to finally propose to Mummy - their 5th dating anniversary! They have also lived together for 3 years, so it is a case of "about blinking time." He raced over to Nana and Poppa's place (mummy's parents) who were looking after the ring. Then he put my harness on me, wrapped the ring box in wrapping paper, tucked it into the loop on my harness, and attached a bow. The he called Mummy into the kitchen, and there I was! She unwrapped it, and then Daddy got down on one knee and hugged Mummy, who told him to ask, then said "I suppose so! of course I will!" I jumped all over them, and gave Mummy a big sloppy kiss. So happy!

A week ago, when I was out walking with Daddy, I stood on something. Daddy noticed me limping, and then blood on the path. He cleaned it out when we got home, and I let him bandage it. On Monday it was still very sore, so Daddy took me to the vet. I like the vet. He gave me a shot, and had a look. They were all very suprised to discover that it went right to my bone! AROOOO! Then the vet opened it up to clean it out, and then i got sever arterial bleeding! AROOOOO AROOOO! Luckily, the vet is onto it, and stopped it. I then got heavy duty stitches in my paw, and a sticky black bandage. Then some pain killers. BOL I like happy pills :) I got kept inside for a few days, and had to have a plastic bag on my foot if I went outside to pee. Mummy was very worried what I would do to her house, as I have never been inside all day on my own before, and I am not crate trained. heck, we don't even own a crate! but I was super well behaved (of course) and didn't even have an accident! My bandage cam off on Thursday, and then the fun began! naturally, i still needed something to stop me licking my wound so much, so Daddy and mummy had to put other bandages on. I hate my feet being touched, and hate bandages. They had to wrap masking tape around it. Mummy had to try to take it off the other night, and it must have been hurting me bad, as I was very naughty and was growling and snapping. Sorry Mummy. So now, since I am not licking it, and it has stopped raining so much, I am allowed to have no bandage, and no plastic bag! YAHOO!!!! I get my stitched out in 2 days. Thanks to all my pals for their best wishes

So usually, I am tied into the back part of Daddy's 4WD (Daddy made a ledge for me), or I am on the back seat - sometimes harnessed, but not always. I like either of these options, as I can stick my nose/whole head out the back window for air, and if I am not harnessed in, I can even wriggle my way onto the front seat. Sometimes, when I am tied into the very back, I crawl onto the back seat and lie down, happy because I am close to my pawrents. But this is a bit uncomfy as I am still attached and it pulls on my neck. Something about this 'not being safe' induced Daddy to buy a second hand dog barrier and...... install it in the 4wd! I am so upset, now I can't reach Mummy and Daddy! I can't even stick my nose out the window! SO unhappy.

(Copy and paste rules so no need to retype)

Here are the rules of the game!

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

Here are my seven PAWSOME facts:

1. I can run at 40km/hr - for a few minutes anyway!
2. am learning to leave a treat that is on my paw .... very difficult!
3. Everyone says I am well behaved... but Mummy and Daddy don't believe them!
4. My Daddy is my favourite person ever. I wait at the door if I see him leave
5. I am getting good at walking on a gentle leader
6. I sleep on/in Mummy and Daddy's bed
7. I bark when people aren't quick enough at throwing my toys for me!

My 7 pals I am tagging are:
1. Zeke - so teeny and cute and dedicated to finding his Daddy
2. Suika - So cute in a hat!
3. Nika - helping her paw-rent sniff out foster homes
4. Mickey - such a friendly dog who judged me 2nd in the sweetest kiss contest!
5. Maggie May - she is so pretty and has a lovely Mommy
6. Maya - looking cute in her revenge!
7. Queen - Digs enormous holes!

I am such a dog park addict now BOL. Today Daddy and I went, and took my bestest girl Blossom - a Golden Retriever - and her Daddy. We played with a Malamute and an old Husky with a shaved leg. I even played with some wee dogs, and I played nice! Daddy was so impressed. I am also getting good at coming back when Daddy calls. I started play chasing something like a mini greyhound, and it ran away, so I chased after it. Then another dog chased it, and it stopped, and the other dog couldn't stop and ran straight into the poor wee greyhound! BOL BOL I had a big swim in the estuary, but Blossom is a scardy-pup and wouldn't get in. So she played in the muddy mangroves and came out BLACK! BOL
Then when we went home, Daddy and Brad had to put up with us wet pups in the truck. ROO ROO!

There is really nowhere in my city for dogs to run off leash, that is fenced. It needs to be fenced since I have painted on ears only. Then Mummy read about this place, and we went today! Wow! I had so much fun. I was still attached to my lead but they let me run around all by myself! I met another Husky called Luca (a girl). She is red and white, so pretty. We played for ages. I gave Mummy a heart attack once, as I screamed and cried for ages about something, but there was nothing wrong. They called me a drama queen. I don't know what that is, but it sounds fun!

Mummy just told me that a Husky killed a 2 week old baby in Perth, Australia. She is very sad, and wants to let the parents know that they are in all of our thoughts. As a fellow Husky mum, she is appalled that we could do that, but wonders if it was jealous? I get jealous when she kisses daddy, so she can see how a husky could get jealous of a new puppy - I mean baby

I'm not so sure I like the sounds of that! But if it makes Mummy happy... But poor Mummy just found out the course, which sounds fantastic apparently, is $1000! AROO thats expensive! Mummy could almost get me a Husky brother for that! So I gues I get to be super duper naughty for a little bit longer... :P

* You find yourself typing "com" after every period when using a word processor.com

* You turn off your modem and get this awful empty feeling, like you just pulled the plug on a loved one.

* Your start introducing yourself as "Jon at I-I-Net dot com"

* Your wife drapes a blond wig over your monitor to remind you of what she looks like.

* All of your friends have an @ in their name.

* You can't call your mother..... she doesn't have a modem.

* Your phone bill comes to your doorstep in a box.

* You laugh at people with 2400 modems.

* You move into a new house and decide to Netscape before you landscape.

* You tell the cab driver you live at: http://23.elm.street/house/bluetrim.html

* Your spouse makes a new rule: "The computer cannot come to bed."

* You ask a plumber how much it would cost to replace the chair in front of your computer with a commode.

* You start tilting your head sideways to smile. :)

* You turn on your computer and turn off your spouse.

* Your spouse says communication is important in a marriage..... so you buy another computer and install a second phone line so the two of you can chat.

* You begin to wonder how on earth your service provider is allowed to call 200 hours per month "unlimited."

.....AND THE #1 CLUE THAT YOUR ARE ADDICTED TO THE INTERNET IS........

* Your dog has its own home page. :-)

On Monday, I was out running with my Daddy who was on his bike. There was a dog on the other side of the bike who always annoys me, and today, I decided I should bite him. Well, Daddy's bike bit me! The front wheel ran over my front right paw. AROOOOW! No matter, the dog still needed to be bitten. I limped home, blood all over my paw. Daddy checked me out, but as I stopped limping, he decided I was ok. No claws ripped out, and no breaks. Just scraps and scratches. Daddy keeps spraying some stuff he calls colloidal silver on it, which I then proceed to lick off. He says it will make me better. I can''t stop licking it. Mummy and Daddy keep wrapping a thing called a bandage around it, to stop me licking my paw. But it feels so weird, and Mummy laughs and calls me a drama queen as I start limping and holding it up when I have the bandage on, but no limping or holding up when I don't. I hope it gets better soon. I hate having owies.

Today Mummy took me on our usual walk around the block. We got about halfway around when she stopped so I could say Hi to my friend Blossom who is a Golden Retriever. My mummy and Blossom's mummy had a chat about Blossom's new human sister, then the Mummies decided we shouldn't be TOO naughty if they had a coffee. SO we went in the gate and I jumped all over Blossom and Mummy even took my lead off because Blossom's house has a fence. Mummy and Blossom's mummy disappeared inside and we played for about half an hour. We had so much fun. A couple of times Mummy came out to check on me, and I snuck inside to meet the human puppy. I got a growling :( The non-furry puppy was asleep though. So we played some more, then Mummy came out, and I nearly got inside again, but no luck this time, as the pink puppy was on the floor. She clipped my lead on and we were off! Except Blossom's neighbour, a pitbull, decided he wanted to play too, and jumped his fence. Naughty doggie. He jumped on me a lot until Mum got mad and called out to his mummy who came and got him so we could walk in peace. THEN we met up with my Husky friend called Oshka. He is old and has a sore leg, so I wasn't allowed in to play, even though he was whining and howling for us to come and play. Mummy chatted to his Daddy for a bit then we went home where i had a BIG drink and collapsed in my run. SOOOOOO tired but I had SOOOOOO much fun. Hope all you Northern Hemisphere Huskies are keeping cool. Remember that the best way to cool your Mummies and Daddies down is to give them lots of slobbery wet kisses! BOL

Ok Niko tagged me...so now it is my turn....here are the rules if the 7 I tag don't already know them.
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged need to post in their diary the rules and their seven pawsome facts. They then chose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don't forget to bark a pmail that they have been tagged and need to read your diary or send a rosette announcing they have been tagged. Copy and paste rules in your diary then put in your info.
My 7 facts:
1. When my 'sister' Jenna and I were abandoned by our old parents, someone came to feed us, but I kept eating all the food. By the time my friend Gail rescued us, I was 4 kilos overweight, and poor Jenna was nearly starving! oops
2. I love to steal things out of the rubbish bins, tissues are the best!
3. I love to kiss everyone, Mum thinks I must have OCD 'cos I won't leave her and Daddy alone in the morning!
4. I am scared of waves - I like water, but not when it moves
5. I am lazy - I am able to jump in the back of Daddy's truck, but I chose not to - because then someone lifts me!
6. I don't jump much. I like to jump onto the bed and couch, and onto/over my agility course in the backyard, but I have never tried to jump the fence (Mummy and Daddy say, Thank God!)
7. I am a big wuss, I sleep under the covers of Mummy and Dadd's bed when they let me, and don't really like the rain and cold

ok now my 7 victims...BOL
1. Riley
2. Bear
3. Lady Guinevere
4. Jambalaya
5. Kaya
6. Patsy
7. Aries

Lots of love, Jesse

Thanks Patsy for my rosette! I am such a lucky Husky to have such great friends!
Mummy is a bit grumpy at the moment and I think it is my fault :( yesterday morning, Daddy and I were up but Mummy was being lazy. So I jumped on the bed and leapt on her chest to wake her up. She yelped. She said I gave her a mammogram, whatever that means! Last night I was made to sleep outside, which I hate. But I got to play with my friend Potts, who is a Dalmation. he is a bit nutty like me, and he got really tangled in my lead BOL. And I helped Daddy garden, which was fun. But I still get in trouble every time I try to play with the Bunnies. Whats the point in having bunnies if I'm not allowed to play with them?

Thanks, Diamond Rio and Jambalaya for the rosettes! I will look so pretty with them in my hair :) Diamond Rio, I hope you don't mind, but I am going to steal your word 'zoomies' from your diary - Mummy says it describes perfectly my going mad and racing around in circles. We are going to Mangawhai tonight, it's one of my favourite places. There is a pond, and wide open spaces and my Boxer pal called Chester. He is a pain because he is ALWAYS around and trying to do something crazy to my bottom (Mummy says someone forgot to tell him he doesn't have the equipment anymore) but we have lots of fun. And there is always someone to give me cuddles and take me for runs. See you all on Monday!

Daddy put a blue strap on my nose last night. He called it a halti. I call a pain in the you-know-where! He and Mummy have used it before and I hate it. I always try to pull it of with my paws. But this time, he made me wear it just around the house and I found that it is ok. I can still chew my toys and lick Daddy. So when he attached my lead to it, I let him walk me with it on. I was super good! I only tried pulling it off a couple of times. So Mummy tried it just now. She keeps pulling me back and saying 'Heel' - I tried to tell her that i am, she just isn't walking fast enough to keep up with me! She left it on without my lead for about half the walk then put it back on fpr the last half. Again, I was the best behaved Husky in Husky town. I got TREATS! I LIKE treats.

Daddy has gone away again, I hate that. Mummy brought me inside last night while she watched something called Grey's Anatomy. She played with me a bit, but kept getting annoyed when I brought my toys back to her. She's hard to understand - she gets mad when we play outside and I don't bring them back, but when we are inside and I DO bring them back, she tells me off. wooo wooo I don';t know what to do. Mummy kept crying during the show, and wanted cuddles. But I was too busy playing. I gave her my toys, but she didn't want them. Then she got mad because I swiped her on the face with my paw - I was only trying to get the invisible bugs, but she yelped. So I sat down the other end of the couch and sulked that she didn't want me to get the bugs off her. Later on, I asked to go outside, so she took me out. Once we got out though, I decided I didn't want to be out, but she locked me up anyway. And she didn't bring me inside to sleep! AROOOOO I am sad. I love to sleep with my Mummy!

Daddy found out today that Jenna, another Siberian Husky, who was like my sister, died from cancer. My old owners had us both in a huge big pen, and then left us all alone for 4 months. Jenna was only 6 months old when they left. Someone came in and gave us food, but I ate most of it and Jenna got really skinny (sorry Jenna). They didn't give us cuddles, pats or a run at all. Then our friend Gail came to see us, and decided it wouldn't be fair to let us stay there any longer, and thats when Mummy and Daddy took me home. Bu they had to take me back again each night for 3 days because Jenna was on her own and was scared because she had never been on her own before! She had always had me to look after her. She started howling and the neighbours got annoyed. Then Jenna went to a Husky rescue place, and then went to a cool family in Dunedin (which Mummy says to say is nearly at the bottom of the South Island.) Mummy and Daddy wanted to take Jenna as well, but she was very wild and Mummy was worried she wouldn't be able to control her. Jenna had a great life, but got cancer and died 2 weeks ago. Not fair. She was still only a baby and had only been with her new Mummy and Daddy for about 9 months. Bye bye Jenna. I miss you

Mummy and Daddy let me sleep inside tonight - yippee! I haven't been allowed inside much lately, coz my stupid rabbit brother Dan can't handle all the rain we have had and has to live inside. They shut me in their bedroom, and even invited me up on the bed! That got hot though, so I slept on the floor next to Daddy. At 5.30am I *really* needed to go pee-pee so I licked Mummy all over to wake her up. She asked if I needed to go out - duh Mummy! - so I climbed on to of her back then off the bed. She must have got the message, because she got up and took me out. Mummy was so pleased because usually when I lick her in the middle of the night, it is just to say hello, and when she gets up, I lay back down! tee hee hee. And when they have their bedroom door open, I go pee-pee in the hallway - they don't like that much! So yeah, they are super happy with my because i asked to go out and actually meant it!
