Sorry I've been so bad about updating my diary, but things have been a little busy with a new addition to the family.

Daddy added a new pup to the house a little over a year ago and I've been trying to break him in and show him the ropes. He's hard-headed and jumps into things before thinking about them like I do. It's been an adventure to say the least.

Jackson was left to the streets as a young pup of almost 6 weeks old when Daddy found him and saved him from a fight with a semi-truck that he was not gonna win. Ever since then he's been nipping at my heels, biting at my ears and barking constantly when I don't play enough for him. So it's been tough to get back here.

I'm working on teaching him how to create his own space on here, so maybe that will occupy some time and let me get more sleep. Here's hoping.

Well it's finally warming up here and things are starting to get so much more exciting. I know it's spring because the birds are back and, more importantly, the baseball, softball and tennis games are all starting back on campus. That means lots of days out in the sun running around in the outfield while the Ole Miss Rebels play baseball are on the way.

I always love it when this time of year comes around because I get to go with all the other dogs into the outfield with the college kids and play while the games are going on. Every now and then we get to chase tennis balls or home run balls that come flying over the fence. We've even been known to gang up on the opposing team's outfielders and give them a good barking to.

I think another game is coming up soon, so I better get going. Thanks for taking the time to read this. WOOF!

Well, I'm lying at the top of the stairs again today, and there's not much to report since it's Christmas break here and all the kids have left the University to go home. It's such a great position, lying here at the top of the stairs. I'm up high and I can see out the front door and through the living room window. No one can sneak up on me, and they don't know where I am when I bark at them if they walk towards the house.

Every now and then a car will drive by, but they are gone before I can really raise my head up to bark at them and tell them to stay away from my house. I'll just lie here and chew on my rope for most of the day. I'll probably get up and patrol the house once or twice....just to make sure everything looks safe. It's very 'portant to make sure that the house is guarded for when Daddy gets home from work at night. They have a lot of basketball games these days, so he's late getting back from work.

Oh wait....looks like the Fed Ex man is coming to the door with something. Let me go see what he has and make sure his intentions are good. Be back later!
