Mom took me to the vet again.. my toenail was not getting any better. The vet gave me a shot and I got really really sleepy, and fell asleep on the floor. He came in and I sort of woke up.. he carried me to a table and took my toenail off. The whole thing! It was broken pretty badly, I guess. He bandaged up my foot really good and then gave me another shot to wake me up again. It took me a while before I woke up, though. They had to shake me and rub my fur to get me to get up. I was sleepy! I had to wobble out the door, and mom had to pick me up and put me in the truck. She had to carry me out, too, because it was all muddy, and she didn't want my bandage to get muddy.

I'm doing better now, I'm more awake, but OMD my foot hurts. I can't help it, I keep whimpering. Mom gave me an aspirin, I hope that helps.

I'm going to go climb back on the couch and go back to sleep. Bark atcha later!

Mom just made another appointment for me to go to the vet. She says it's because my toe isn't getting better. Even Shiva came up and sniffed it, and he doesn't even like me! So, mom thinks there might be something wrong.

On the up side, Apollo has to go to the vet on Thursday and get his "nooter". :)

BOL! I heard my mom on the phone talking about my brother.. looks like he has to go to the vet and get "nootered" too! About time, I was thinking that was pretty unfair that I had to go do it and he didn't have to.

Mom got a call from our breeder the other day, and she told mom that she was going to send back the money she paid for me. Mom thought it would be a good idea to spend it on Apollo. He needs "ecksrays" and "nooter", just like me.

OMD.. that means he has to wear The Cone! ROFBOL!

Well, we're back! The trip was great, I looked out the window the whole way. There are so many people out there! Lots of cars. Mostly I saw deer and cows, though.

My poor brother... he got sick when we went over the mountains. Dad had to stop the truck on top of Coal Bank Pass so he could barf. He didn't stop in time, so mom had to clean up the seat. Then Apollo drooled on me the whole way there. The things I put up with.

We got to go to the dog park when we were there, and there was another BORDER COLLIE!! He could run as fast as we can, and he likes the ball, too. I ran too much and hurt my toe again.. mom saw me bleeding and made me get back into the truck.

Grandma played with me at her house, and she showed me a "hair dryer". I thought it was pretty cool, especially when it blew on my face. I think I like those. Apollo chickened out and ran away. He's such a baby sometimes.

We stayed a few days, then got to go home again. Apollo drooled on me the whole way again, but he didn't barf. Good. I hate that.

Now if I can just get him to leave me alone so I can sleep!

Oh.. poor Apollo.. that means a long ride in the truck. I hope he doesn't get sick on me again, especially since mom just gave us a bath. I don't know why the truck scares him so bad, I think it's FUN!

Mom gave me and Apollo a BATH yesterday. I don't know about you, but sheesh!

I like the water. I really do. But there's something about being in a tub with shampoo all over you that makes it really scary. Even Apollo was scared, and he's not afraid of ANYTHING (except riding in the truck).

I really liked it when I got out, though. I got to shake water ALL over the bathroom and Mom. Then I went zooooming around the house because it felt soooo good!

Mom says we have to be nice to her today because now her back hurts. Poor Mom. Maybe she should take a bath and then she'll feel good and come zooming around the house with us!

So.. mom had to take me to the vet again. Yep. This time, I was playing with my brother and my friend Mila out in the yard, and mom saw I had blood ALL OVER my legs. Not that it slowed me down or anything... I AM a Border Collie, after all.

So what does she do? Makes me come INSIDE, and lets my brother Apollo stay outside with Mila! How unfair is that? I'm the one that gets hurt, and I'm the one that has to be inside. So mean. She's always doing stuff like that to me.

Anyway, mom looks at my leg and doesn't see anything wrong, then she looks at my feet. OW! That toe HURTS! She was really careful, and washed all the blood off my legs and my feet. I let her, because she was being good and didn't hurt me. It turns out that my one black toenail is bleeding all over the place... and it won't stop! And it's SIDEWAYS! OW!

Off we go to the vet, and it's someone I don't know, but he was nice and gave me a cookie, so I like him just as much as I like my other vet. He looked at my toenail, and made mom hold my nose so I'd keep my face away. I wanted to watch! I guess it wasn't too bad, he just clipped my toenails short.. and the hurt toenail EXTRA short. He said it's so it won't snag on anything. We have to watch it to make sure it doesn't get infected. I told mom I'd keep it nice and clean so she wouldn't put a bandage on it. I hate bandages. Bandages lead to things like The Cone. *shudder*

It looks like I'm going to be fine, so I'm off to nap on the couch! Bark atcha later!

Well, mom took me back to the vet, and she made me lay down on my back to take the stitches out. Mostly it was easy, but that last one HURT! I'm sure glad they're gone.

But guess what.. I still had to wear the cone! Mom said the vet wanted me to wear it for 4 more days so I could heal all the way. Well, darn it, that just made me grumpy.. and it made my brother mad, too. So, when mom let us outside, my brother Apollo decided he'd help me take it off. He bit it and pulled and chewed and tried really hard, until the cone was a total mess. We couldn't get it off! It kind of made me sad.

Mom called us inside for dinner and stopped me to look at the cone. She just shook her head and told me "Well, if you want it off THAT badly..." and then she took the cone off and threw it in the trash! Hooray!!

Now if can just get her to stop giving me those pills...

I try really hard not to, but they ITCH! She says on Friday we can go to the vet and get them taken out. I sure hope so.

Oh! I have to tell you! It was SO cool today.. mom let us outside and there was this white stuff falling out of the sky. It was cold! It tasted really good, though, and Apollo and I ran and ran through it. It got all over the ground, too. It made my feet cold and we finally asked mom if we could come back inside. I think we'll go play in it some more after our nap. I like it.

Well.. mom took me to the vet yesterday. And it was NOT fun. They gave me a shot when I first got there, and it made me sleepy. Mom wanted me to go into a cage that wasn't MY bed. I didn't want to go, so she had to pick me up and put me inside. That made me sad so I cried for a bit.. but then I started feeling pretty good, so I was quiet and just laid there.

They made me go to sleep and when I woke up, my tummy HURT! The vet said I was a "cryptorchid", so they had to cut my tummy open to fix it. It hurts now, but I'm feeling a lot better. Last night all I wanted to do was sleep.

The vet says I have a pretty bad case of hip dysplasia and it's going to make it hard for me to walk when I get older. Mom says she's really really really sorry, but she can't afford to get new hips for me. I think that makes her sad. It makes dad sad, too. He said I was the best dog ever.

You want to know the WORST part? Mom put a CONE on my HEAD!! The cats were laughing at me. I'm so embarrassed. At least my brother doesn't seem to mind. He didn't make fun of me, he was just glad to have me home.

I'm glad to be home, too. I just hope mom takes this cone off of my head soon.

Mom took me to the vet this week.. my back legs have been hurting and it's been hard to walk. The vet was really nice, I licked her and she gave me a treat. She made me lay down on my side, and rotated my back legs all around. It felt funny, and she said she could feel popping in both of my hips. Boy, that doesn't sound good, does it?

So.. Mom says she has to take me back next week, and I get to do something called "ecksrays". She says I won't remember them because I'll be asleep. No way! Who could sleep through something so exciting?! She says they're also going to do something called "nooter" when I'm sleeping. I hope it's fun.

I'll keep you all updated, and let you know what happens at the vet next week. Hopefully she'll give me another treat. She's really nice.
