Happy Birthday my sweetheart. Can you see me baby boy? Do you see mommy crying? I try not to Brutus I really do. Somedays are good now that 2 years and more have passed. But just when I think I have gotten thru the worse I realize ‘it’ is still here. That horrible realization that you are gone. That all the crying in the world will not bring you back. Our time together is so precious to me. I guess I am guilty of living in the past like the silly old woman I am. I like to daydream sometimes that you are still here with me. I long for the day I cross over from this life and we are together again. When something bad happens these days I don’t freak out, I kind of take it in stride. How many times can your heart be broken? Once you have lived thru this type of sorrow it makes other things seem less important and not so bad. Not so bad when you compare it to losing a loved one. I so remember your birthdays and how excited I would be shopping for your favorite treats and toys. I wish I could buy something for you now to help me feel better ha! I know this is not especially joyful of an diary entry but if anything it’s the truth. I love you my sweetheart, I love you more each day. You are forever etched in my heart and soul Brutus!

I love you Brutus. I love you with everything I have and had. I miss you so much there just aren’t words left to describe the depth of my loss. I crave to just pet your head one more time. To run my fingers down your chest and feel your warm fur. You always made me feel loved and protected. There was nothing I could do enough to make up for all the love you have shown me. I feel sad in my little world here left alone without you. I feel as though I let you down buddy. There are plenty of days I wish I never had brought you in for heart surgery. But I did and I have to live with what happened. A few weeks ago our house burned down buddy. It’s OK. The important thing was you or no one else was there and hurt. But now I can’t sit in ‘our room’ where we spent so many hours. The couch we used to curl up on is gone now. I can’t look at the kitchen floor under the table anymore and remember you falling down under there right before we rushed to the hospital. Maybe in some ways this is good. That I can’t see the bad things anymore. The good things I carry in my heart until the day I die buddy. No one can ever take your memory away from me my love.

Oh Brutus has it really been that long. Sometimes I have to remind myself what the date is. My world seemed to of stopped on January 30. God I miss you Brutus. I walk around like a wounded animal, licking my wounds. I don’t know what to do about it sometimes. I’ve adopted another pup from your rescue. He helps me to go on. It gives me someone to take care of and love but it can never heal the huge hole in my heart. Last week honey I got my 10 seconds of fame. I did an interview with a local news station about the rising of vet costs. I had to relive our last 3 days together and it hurt a lot for me to do this. I know I probably looked like an old fool on camera, as I had a hard time trying to speak between the tears. But hopefully I got across to folks, who care, that they need to be prepared for emergencies with their pets, and how expensive things can get when a baby’s life is on the line. I will carry your image with me till the day I die Brutus. I love you so much buddy.

Two Months Baby Boy

Brutus I can’t believe it’s been two months. These have to be the longest, saddest months of my entire life. I never told you but I did not have a happy childhood, not a happy marriage, kind of just made a way thru this world. I was never popular, never the pretty one, never the lucky one, none of those things. But baby when you came into my world I forgot all about those silly things. You never cared what I looked like as long as I had a treat lol. With you I knew I was loved, I knew I was wanted. I never felt loneliness or despair. How could I when I knew you were there for me? What an honor it was that I was chosen for you to spend your life with. This to me was the biggest favor/gift the world could give. That I lost you so soon, so suddenly is sometimes too much to bear. I cry for you every single day baby boy. I think about our last days together and then I try not to because it hurts too much right now. So I try to think about all the wonderful times we spent together.

Tonight I will go out and buy a balloon to release tomorrow on Rainbow Bridge Day. I never thought I would be doing this for you now. If I could fit myself into this balloon and send myself up to you I would sweetheart. You were the best of me.

It's been one month now that I have lost my best friend, the love of my life, Brutus. I still can't believe it at time. I so wish I could make it not true but we all know that cannot happen. I cry all the time still for both of us. I cry for him because I know he was so young and deserved so much better and longer of a life. I cry for myself because I have never missed anyone so much in my life. I look for him everywhere. I can just about maintain myself at work but as soon as I drive home at night, I cry and call out his name. I no longer care who thinks I'm crazy, I would gladly embarrass myself in front of the entire world if that would give me just one more hour with my baby. I pray that he is in heaven and playing with Echo and Griff with no pain! I love you Brutus!!!!!!

It has been two weeks now that my precious baby boy has gone to sleep. To say I miss Brutus is the biggest joke of all. Miss him? I can't live without him! I cry each day like it just happened. Each night I look at his picture before I close my eyes and each morning his picture is the first thing I look at. He was so young, so strong. He fought and survived his surgeries like a champion that he was. Oh my poor baby, how did you feel when you awoke from the second surgery. Were you scared. The thought of that breaks my heart into pieces when I didn't think I had a heart left to break anymore. I can barely see to type these words. I come back to Dogster because thank God there are still people here that understand my pain. Everyone in my life wants me to get over this, my family, my friends, my co workers. I'll never get over my baby. He was my world. The only thing that helps me keep my head up these days is knowing I loved him with everything I had every second I had. To anyone who reads this, I know you have heard it before but I still have to say it, hug your fur babies tight. You never know what life has in store for us. Love them now, don't put off taking them out for that long walk or spending a little bit more time with them like you used to. If I would of known the last time I walked Brutus it was never going to happen again, I would still be walking...

The day you laid me down to sleep
you prayed to the Lord; my soul to keep
I know you had to send me on my way
but you sent me to a new; better; and much brighter day

You sent me home; to heaven above
where I'm cradled in God's arms; covered with His love
I understand what you did; you did out of love
and I'll return that love; from my new home above

My sickness is gone; and I'm free here to roam
I run and play in the meadows; here in my new home
We play here by the Bridge; from morning to night
there is no rain here; just warm sunlight

I know you all miss me; I miss you all too
but I'll always be with you; whatever you do
Please wipe the tears; from your weeping eyes
by remembering the good times; from days gone by

When you look out; into the dark of night
I'll be that bright star; your guiding light
We'll meet again at the Bridge one day
when we'll walk in the light; together to stay

I'm sorry to say that tomorrow I will have to PTS my best girl, my german shepherd Echo. Please pray for her to reach those gates and to go back to playing with Griff as she did for so many years.....

Tribute to Echo

My darling girl I can’t believe that the day is almost here to say good bye

I am so lost already not knowing which way to turn, dreading tomorrow with every fiber of my being

So many of my friends say things to me like too bad or I’m sorry, never knowing the depth of our love or my grief

If only I could capture your essence in a bottle to carry with me forever, to make me feel safe as you have done for me for so many years

You never faltered in your grace even as you grew old

When your legs would not work as they used to, you still managed to get up each time you were told

When your eyes stopped seeing clearly you still looked at me with loving eyes

All I can do now is make tonight as wonderful/comfortable as I can

I would cook your favorite meal my sweetheart but you have stopped eating so this gift is not for me to give tonight

I will pray, pray for you, pray for me

I will try not to cry until it’s over as I will try to remind myself that this is not about me, this is about you

You have taught me how to love unconditionally and thus you have taught me how to live

There is no love on earth like the love of your dog

I will try my best tomorrow to be worthy of the love you gave me for so many years
Goodbye my Echo

Well as alot of you might notice, the mother is very lax in updating my diary entries! It is SO hard to get good help these days. Thank dawg that I have good friends like Atley and his mom and dad who at least thought enough about me {{yeah you heard me MOM}} to write about me in his diary! Thanks so much Atley!!! We love you!!!

"One of the first pals I made on dogster was Brutus. He's a really nice guy and he has kitties too! One day mom & dad were looking at the pictures on his site, and they thought he was wonderful, and had a particularly cute lower lip.

So now, whenever I'm pouting about something and have my lower lip stuck out, they ask me if I "have my Brutus lip on".

*sigh*

People are weird.

At any rate, yes, this morning, I did "have on my Brutus lip." Mom and dad were getting ready for work. And that means the weekend is over, Easter is over, my Gotcha Day is over, and I was gonna have to get off the couch. I'll be in my crate until aunt Melanie lets me out... I don't like my crate. At least dad will come home at noon, that's something to look forward to!"

As a shel ...

A Letter from a Shelter Manager:

I think our society needs a huge " Wake-up" call.

As a shelter manager, I am going to share a little insight with you all. ..a view from the inside if you will.

First off, all of you breeders/ sellers should be made to work in the "back" of an animal shelter for just one day.

Maybe if you saw the life drain from a few sad, lost, confused eyes, you
would change your mind about breeding and selling to people you don't even
know. That puppy you just sold will most likely end up in my shelter when
it's not a cute little puppy anymore.

So how would you feel if you knew that there 's about a 90% chance that
dog will never walk out of the shelter it is going to be dumped at?
Purebred or not! About 50% of all of the dogs that are "owner surrenders"
or "strays" that come into my shelter are purebred dogs.

The most common excuses I hear are;

"We are moving and we can't take our dog (or cat).
" Really? Where are you moving too that doesn't allow pets and why did you
choose that place instead of a petfriendly home?

Or they say "The dog got bigger than we thought it would".
How big did you think a German Shepherd would get?

"We don't have time for her".
Really? I work a 10- 12 hour day and still have time for my 6 dogs!

" She' s tearing up our yard".
How about making her a part of your family?

They always tell me: "We just don't want to have to stress about finding a
place for her we know she'll get adopted, she' s a good dog."

Odds are your pet won't get adopted & how stressful do you think being in
a shelter is? Well, let me tell you, your pet has 72 hours to find a new
family from the moment you drop it off. Sometimes a little longer if the
shelter isn't full and your dog manages to stay completely healthy. If it
sniffles, it dies.

Your pet will be confined to a small run/kennel in a room with about 25
other barking or crying animals. It will have to relieve itself where it
eats and sleeps.

It will be depressed and it will cry constantly for the family that
abandoned it.

If your pet is lucky , I will have enough volunteers in that day to take
him/her for a walk. If I don't, your pet won't get any attention besides
having a bowl of food slid under the kennel door and the waste sprayed out
of its pen with a high-powered hose.

If your dog is big, black or any of the " Bully " breeds (pit bull, rotti
e, mastiff, etc) it was pretty much dead when you walked it through the
front door. Those dogs just don't get adopted.

It doesn't matter how 'sweet' or 'well behaved' they are.

If your dog doesn't get adopted within its 72 hours and the shelter is
full, it will be destroyed.

If the shelter isn't full and your dog is good enough, and of a desirable
enough breed it may get a stay of execution, but not for long.

Most dogs get very kennel protective after about a week and are destroyed
for showing aggression. Even the sweetest dogs will turn in this
environment.

If your pet makes it over all of those hurdles chances are it will get
kennel cough or an upper respiratory infection and will be destroyed
because shelters just don't have the funds to pay for even a $100
treatment.

Here's a little euthanasia 101 for those of you that have never witnessed
a perfectly healthy, scared animal being "put- down".

First, your pet will be taken from its kennel on a leash.

They always look like they think they are going for a walk- happy, wagging
their tails.

Until, hey get to "The Room" , every one of them freak out and put the
brakes on when we get to the door. It must smell like death or they can
feel the sad souls that are left in there, it's strange, but it happens
with every one of them.

Your dog or cat will be restrained, held down by 1 or 2 vet techs depending
on the size and how freaked out they are.

Then a euthanasia tech or a vet will start the process.

They will find a vein in the front leg and inject a
lethal dose of the "pink stuff".

Hopefully your pet doesn't panic from being restrained and jerk.

I've seen the needles tear out of a leg and been covered with the
resulting blood and been deafened by the yelps and screams.

They all don't just "go to sleep", sometimes they spasm for a while, gasp
for air and defecate on themselves .

When it all ends, your pets corpse will be stacked
like firewood in a large freezer in the back with all of the other animals
that were killed waiting to be picked up like garbage.

What happens next?
Cremated? Taken to the dump? Rendered into pet food? You'll never know and
it probably won't even cross your mind.

It was just an animal and you can always buy another one, right? I hope
that those of you that have read this are bawling your eyes out and can't
get the pictures out of your head I deal with everyday on the way home
from work.

I hate my job, I hate that it exists & I hate
that it will always be there unless you people make some changes and
realize that the lives you are affecting go much further than the pets you
dump at a shelter.

Between 9 and 11 MILLION animals die every year in shelters and only
you can stop it. I do my best to save every life I can but rescues are
always full, and there are more animals coming in everyday than there are
homes.

My point to all of this: DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER PETS DIE!

Hate me if you want to. The truth hurts and reality is what it is.

I just hope I maybe changed one persons mind about breeding their dog,
taking their loving pet to a shelter, or buying a dog.

I hope that someone will walk into my shelter and say "I saw this and it
made me want to adopt." THAT WOULD MAKE IT WORTH IT!

Leash: A strap that attaches to your collar, enabling you to lead your owner where you want him or her to go. Make sure that you are waiting patiently with leash in mouth when your owner comes home from work. This immediatly makes your owner feel guilty and the walk is lengthened by a good 10 minutes.

Dog Bed: Any soft, clean surface, such as a white bedspread, newly upholstered couch or the dry cleaning that was just picked up.

Drool: What you do when your owners have food and you don't.To do this properly, sit as close as you can, look sad and let the drool fall to the floor or better yet on their laps.

Sniff: A social custom to use when you greet other dogs or those people that sometimes smell like dogs.

Garbage Can: A container your neighbors put out weekly to test your ingenuity.Stand on your hind legs and push the lid off with your nose. If you do it right, you are rewarded with food wrappers to shred, beef bones to consume, moldy crusts of bread and sometimes even an old Nike.

Bicycles: Two-wheeled exercise machines, invented for dogs to control body fat. To get maximum aerobic benefit, you must hide behind a bush and dash out, bark loudly and run alongside for a few yards. The rider swerves and falls into the bushes, and you prance away.

Thunder: A signal the world is coming to an end. Humans remain amazingly calm during thunderstorms, so it is necessary to warn them of the danger by trembling, panting, rolling your eyes wildly and following at their heels.

Wastebasket: A dog toy filled with paper, envelopes and old candy wrappers. When you get bored, turn over the basket and strew the papers all over the house. This is particularly fun to do when there are guests for dinner and you prance around with the contents of that very special bathroom wastepaper basket!

Sofas: Are to dogs like napkins are to people. After eating it is polite to run up and down the front of the sofa and wipe your whiskers clean. If there are people sitting on the couch just include them as a handy wipe.

Bath: A process owners use to clean you, drench the floor, walls and themselves. You can help by shaking vigorously and frequently.

Lean: Every good dog's response to the command "sit," especially if your owner is dressed for an evening out. Incredibly effective before black-tie events.

Love: A feeling of intense affection, given freely and without restriction, shared by you and your owner. Show it by wagging your tail

On January 28th I lost my beloved Griff, my male German Shepherd. Griff was part of my family for 14 years and the hole in my heart will never be healed. I know he was old in years but a puppy at heart. He was always the first to greet me when I came home so each day I walk thru the door is a reminder of what I have lost. I love you Griff and it was my honor that God let me have you for so many years buddy. You gave so much and asked for nothing in return.....

A Dog's Prayer
By Beth Norman Harris

My Beloved Master, for not heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness
then the loving heart of me. Do not break my spirit with a stick for though I
should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding
will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do. Speak to me
often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the
fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear. When
it is cold and wet, please take me inside...for I am now a domesticated animal,
no longer used to the bitter elements...and ask no greater glory than the privildge
of sitting at your feet beside the hearth...though you had no home, I would rather
follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest
home in all the land...for you are my Devoted Worshipper. Keep my pan filled
with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell
you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food that I may stay well, to romp and play
and do your bidding, to walk by your side and stay ready, willing and able to
protect you with my life, should your life be in danger. And Beloved Master,
should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away
from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful
boon to eternal rest...and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I draw,
my fate as ever safest in your hands.

Hurry and pass the ball to 5 of your team mates so they can make a touchdown. You are also supposed to write down 5 things about yourself that are funny. Also please leave me a bone and ask all those who visit your diary to leave you a bone so you will know they have been there! Ok…Here goes the play!

1. When I get real excited about company I bounce around the room!

2. I save certain chewies till later and hide them from the other critters by sitting on them.

3. When Mom gets home from work I tackle her and straddle her shoulders so I can really get in there with the kisses!

4. I am afraid to go past the stove sometimes because the kitty hides behind there and tries to swat me!

5. If there is a guest doggie in the house, I shadow them when they try to get too close to my mom.

I am passing to

People I have received G-R-E-A-T news!!! Fatty has been taught the lesson of his squirrelly life by none other than my bestest friend Lucas. {{OK he had a LITTLE help from Riley }} Fatty has been tormenting us for months now but no one cared but me and Lucas. His mom, who we both love, was not so pleased by the getting of Fatty. She is so upset that Lucas has no choice but to come and live with me in New York. He does not want to hurt his mommy but feels she needs a time-out ha! So me and mom are so happy Lucas is coming…. Mom’s been cooking up treats and getting a bed all ready for my buddy. In case any of our friends would like to read about what happened, I have included the story below….. GO LUCAS!!!!

Today mom had the day off...so I thought I spend some time with dear old mom...however the neighbors were having a little work done in there back yard. Some fall landscaping and what not..so I thought I better head on out in case fatty showed up...with all the ruckus next door it could be a very real possibility that I had no intention of missing. So I of course being the old wise dog that I am...position myself perfectly in the view of the fence and fatty's favorite tree he uses in our yard as his mode of acrobatic transport...I admit this is quite impressive. So I get myself all settled in and send miss Riley over to patrol the fence. Honestly I knew her nosy self would not be able to keep away from spying on the lawn guys. Some times goes by and old fatty shows up....I can barley contain myself and let out a bark...something I rarely do. I realize my mistake immediately because this got moms attention. Oh well can not worry about that now...I am up and running...the running is what got Riley's attention being that she is young and super fast in a flash she is by me...zoned in on our prey...Please mom for once just stay in the house!! (that is what I am thinking...you know how moms wreck all fun)...holy dog OMD...she has him!!! Riley has fatty!!! Because she is not a retriever and clearly dumb!!! She lets go as if this is some game!! (I should shoot her!!)no matter fatty is disoriented clearly in shock...that we have finally outsmarted him...I now have him!!! I trot with him over to mom...beside myself with joy...and drop him at moms feet...For some reason my mom is standing there mouth agape however nothing is coming out of it( that in it self is cause for concern) well she regained her composure...and it started....I really do not need to go on at this point do I?!....Crazy is yelling leave it!!! at the top of her lungs and ushering us in the house and fatty is clearly stunned but alive and wanders like a drunk back to his tree....
bottom line people...keep mom locked in the house during all out door activity...no good can come from it otherwise..Brutie I am running away and coming to live with you...I have had it!!

My dear friend Lucas and I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

As you can see from my previous entry, we have been at odds with squirrels aka rodents aka FATTYS that are attempting to take over our yards. {{and possibly the WHOLE planet as you can see from Lucas' diary entry}} Well now they've gone just toooooooo far bringing in extra troops. Namely their fat, shorter cousin the chipmunk!!! Well we're not standing for this anymore! Do you hear me FATTY

I didn't want to have to do this but if they wanna bring in extra militia, well then SO CAN WE. LUCAS I'M CALLING IN THE BIG GUNS! I've contacted the Diva herself Kokoa Girl who's bringing her boy Max and MY girl Stormy Lynn from Montana!!! Lucas and me are gonna corner these f&*(&#$% squirrels and there ain't gonna be no tree for them to run up. IT'S GONNA GET UGLY. Trust me, Lucas is gonna have that part covered... he's like a 'tree superman'... he can knock them down in a single bound!}} And what he can't get we all know Max or Tyson can! Stormy, you and Kokoa gotta stay back so you don't get hurt. {{looking at Stormy and puffing out chest}}

Lucas, you and Lt. Cisco need to stay in constant communication. I will get there as soon as I can. I have run out of baby oil due to the fact that I discovered it was quite tasty. {{looking around embarrassed}} I'll figure something out! In the meantime, WARRIERS PREPARE YOURSELVES!!!

Myself and my dearest pal Lucas have been doing battle with some fat, lazy, tree dwelling, squealing squirrels in our yards. {I think they may even be related!} Lucas has gained some leverage on his evil foe because he had the great wisdom of knocking down its home! Being of considerable girth myself, I tried to also knock down my own tree where the hairy rodent was hiding out. My mother though…having read Lucas’ diary also immediately realized what it was I was attempting to do… and put the brakes on my tree ramming by hurling herself on me and YES grabbing my ankles! Oh the injustice of this world! So the hairy rodent has managed to escape me yet another day. Never fear as Lucas and I will not rest until these creatures have been silenced!

Spring TAG!!

The rules to this game are to put in four of the following and then tag four other pups! So here goes:

Name four jobs that you've had:

1. Face Cleaner – I excel at this function… I am able to lick uncontrollably for unbelievable amounts of time. No makeup can deter me. And if my mother tries ‘acting up’ during this labor of love, I simply hug her head to get better licks of her nose and facial area.

2. Bed Shrinker – I have mastered taking a full size bed and reducing it down to barely enough room as a twin bed. I do this with my fabulous physique… it’s a very simple method of extending your body to its fullest length while sticking your tongue out and straightening your tail out.

3. Cat Chaser – When the cats do something wrong and get ‘yelled’ at, I chase them out of whatever room mom is in. This is done only to scare them. They are in fact my daytime sleeping partners and I would never harm them. They provide me with warmth.

4. Snack Taste Tester –‘Nuff said.

Four places you have lived:

1. The local pound
2. Local Kennel
3. New York with my mommy
4. Upstairs with my human bro

Four places where you have been:

1. Dunkin Donuts drive up window… those ladies love me… they give me all their stale mini donuts. {HEY MOM those are mine!!!}}
2. To my obedience classes.
3. Tennis courts… I am used for my retrieving abilities.
4. The hood… walking around the neighborhood with my momma.
Four places you'd rather be:

1. With my mom!
2. With my Stormy Lynn in Montana!
3. Sleeping on the leather couch
4. Eating pigears out the barrel at the pet store.

Friends I choose to play tag:

Tinkerbell

PET RULES
To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - nose height.

Dear Dogs and Cats,

The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack.
Beating
me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years -- canine or feline attendance is not required.

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt.
I cannot stress this enough!

To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:

To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets:

1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. (That's why they call it "fur"niture.)
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

Remember: In many ways, dogs and cats are better than kids because
they:
1. Eat less
2. Don't ask for money all the time
3 Are easier to train
4. Normally come when called
5. Never ask to drive the car
6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends 7. Don't smoke or drink 8. Don't have to buy the latest fashions 9. Don't want to wear your clothes 10. Don't need a "gazillion" dollars for college.

And finally,

11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children.

2. Give 5 bones or treats to the one who tagged you!

3. Tag 5 dogs for Christmas Tag & let them know with a p-mail or rosette!

Dear Santa,

Despite any rumors {they're all lies!} that you might of heard, I've been a very good boy this year! I can't wait for you to come down our chimney with all my treats! I swear it wasn't me that lit the fireplace last year! This Christmas I'd like lots of pig ears, a really cool stuffed toy that I can 'unstuff' looking for the squeaky thingie, some new bones, my own comforter so I don't have to share with mom and a nice warm meal for all the other pitties out there!

I gave a bunch of bones to Tinkerbell!

I am tagging:
Kokoa Girl
Tela
Tyson

King

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!!!

I was tagged by my bestest pal Kokoa Girl!

Here are the rules:
Each player needs to tell seven random facts about themselves. Tagged dogs must post the rules in their diary and their 7 facts. Then choose 7 pups to tag and list their names. Let them know by pawmail or rosette that they have been tagged and to read your diary for the instructions on how to play

1. I run like a GIRL when I see any water coming in my direction!! Needless to say mom doesn’t look forward to bath time.

2. I weigh in at 92 sexy pounds  {another reason mom doesn’t look forward to bath time}

3. I LOVE playing tug-of war with ANYTHING.

4. I snuggle with the kitty when I think no one is looking 

5. I love pig ears and now that I’ve discovered them, bully sticks.

6. I sleep with a pillow and blankie.

7. Mom’s my favorite person and I’m her’s BOL!

The seven pups that I choose are King , Tela , Tyson , Tinker , Kayachka , Sassy Girl , Warrior !!!

Here it is- the newest craze going around Dogster! It's called "You are loved!" Here's how it goes: Pick 3 dogsters who you think are just fantastic and tell a little about why you feel that they are so pawsome! Be sure to tell them how much they are loved with a p-mail or a rosette!
I have so many friends here that I think are so special! Just picking 3 is almost impossible!

Tyson is tagged! Tyty is a pawsome pittie living in TX. Ty loves the water and loves his mom and Nana. He lives with his sister Tela who is also my good buddy! Tyson has a beautiful smile and is all white except for sometimes when these beautiful spots come out on his face in the sun. Ty likes to run on the treadmill and can go for quite a while. He protects his home and mom but does it with love. Never aggressive and always friendly to his guests! I depend on talking to Ty, Tela and mom everyday now. I don’t know what I’d do without them! I would love someday for me and mom to meet Ty and Tela! I love you Tyson

KoKoa Girl was my FIRST, bestest friend on Dogster and will always have my heart! She made me and mom feel welcome from Day 1. Kokoa loves the water and PEANUT BUTTER!!! I hope someday I can share PB with Kokoa!!! We both live in upstate NY but not that close or I’d be over there playing right now  She is the most beautiful girl pittie in the world and a gorgeous bride last February 12th ! I’ve come to terms with her marrying Max finally! But at least I was part of the wedding ceremony! Kokoa is a model! A model American Pit Bull Terrier and a model {Winner} in a lot of picture contests! It’s no wonder after you see her! I love Kokoa Girl

Next is Tela. Tela is my bestest rottie buddy on Dogster. Tela is a water baby from the big ole state of Texas and is Tyson’s big sister! She’s a bully dog like me but has a huge heart of gold! Can’t remember when me and Tela started talking but it’s been love ever since! She is the sunshine of her mom’s heart! She has a remarkable smile that you will never forget once you see. Tela likes the water too {all 3 of my buddies do} and spends time swimming at Nana’s or in some of the beautiful lakes in Texas. She loves her mom and Nana and ropes and water and Tyson! I love you Tela!

What Animal Do I Speak Of?
By Patty Letawsky

Their love is like no other, their heart as pure as gold.
Yet while going on a friendly walk, they're faced with stares of cold.

They're so very close to human, in how they act and what they do,
Unless you've known their devoted love, it's impossible to explain to you.

They are greatly more misunderstood, than any other breed.
We tend to punish this loyal dog, instead of mankind's deeds.

They are always and forever clowns, with a wish for center stage.
Yet while displaying this sense of humor, most people disengage.

They, oh, so want to make new friends, and run and jump and play.
Yet when they happily approach, most people shy away.

Often I've seen children poke, or hop on for a ride.
And when I felt they might get mad, they've only beamed with pride.

I've seen there children yank and pull, with nary a reaction.
Yet media's not interested, unless they've put someone in traction.

When other dog's have made the news, this breed's name they affix.
But when this brave dog saves the day, they call him "boxer mix".

They love to snuggle up real close, to give lots of loves and kisses,
Yet they suffer more than any, from unfair prejudices.

Their tails wag hard and hips twist, too, more so than other mutts.
So those of us who know the breed, we call them "wiggle butts".

What animal do I speak of, Whose love is so unique?
If you've truly known one, you know of whom I speak.

There is no creature on this Earth who will ever make you merrier.
The animal I do speak of, it's the American Pit Bull Terrier.

10. They will steal your spot on the couch while you are up getting a soda.

9. They will take the treat you give them and bury in the back yard like a paranoid crack head hiding their stash.

8. They will jump on your bed with muddy feet. Making you do the laundry...again!

7. They will lick visitors with an uncontrolled passion only they

6. They will cause children to smile.

5. They will make you feel horrible for not walking them by looking at you with deep sad eyes.

4. They will look at you like you committed a crime against them if you don't let them lick your ice cream bowl.

3. They will cause wide spread happiness in large group settings.

2. They will crack you up by shaking their butts so hard you think they are going to snap in half.

And the number one reason why you can't trust vicious Pit Bulls...

The cats know better than to try and play with it! M0ms taking a vacation in a couple of days so she can catch up on stuff at home.
I got Brutus a little while after the breakup of my 19 year marriage. My son actually wanted him for Christmas. He was only 20 at the time and in order to adopt a dog from the local humane society, you had to be 21. So for weeks all I heard was that he wanted a dog. At first, to be honest, I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of adopting a pit bull. I tried my best to convince him to get another breed, that they were dangerous dogs, I asked him if he didn't read the news and hear all the bad publicity about them. No matter what I said, I could not sway him. So like a typical parent, I got him what he wanted for Christmas even though I felt it was not the best decision. Boy, was I wrong. From the moment I picked Brutus up at the humane society, I was instantly in love. And my son, being a typical 'kid', let me take on the responsibility of caring for him. That was fine by me. Brutus has filled a huge void in me. He gives me a reason to come home. In fact, I've taken to driving 20 minutes each way on my one hour lunch, just to check on him. And also because I hate leaving him alone. I shouldn't say alone because he has 3 cats to keep him company! I cannot picture my life without him. If I get invited somewhere, my first thought is of him.... how long would he be left at home alone... did he already spend hours alone while I was at work.... what can I give him in my absence to keep him amused... on and on. Every morning I play as much as I can with him because I know I have to leave him alone. At nights if he is not in bed with me, I don't feel right, as if something important is missing. I now I'm rambling on now but I just wanted to try to give a glimpse of my feelings for him. He's my best friend. And he is not replaceable by any means. There may be other dogs but there will never be another Brutus.
