Mom said I had an anal gland problem and stunk to high heaven. Also, hadn't had a bath all winter, so it was time. I tried not to go to the bathroom, but mom made me go anyway. Baths are not my favorite thing, but you do what you have to do. It will be nicer later, when my fur is dry, and mom tells me how fluffy and pretty I am.

Over the winter, I had a problem, where my anal glands just spurt out stinky stuff, but then mom only washed the dirty part. It takes a LONG time for me to get dry, when I'm completely wet, so she wanted to wait until there was warmer weather, before she got me all wet.

Sister Emily will probably notice I've had a bath, when she gets home from school tonight. I hope she notices how clean and fluffy my fur is.

Last night, I got to go in the car and it took me to my favorite beach! It's also the closest one, too! LOL! I love walking in Lake Michigan at Kohler-Andrae State Park. I got to see lots of people, since there was a special candle-light walk, that started right after we left! I love sniffing new people. No one really wanted to pet me, though! :( I love exploring new smells on the beach, too, and fortunately this time, I didn't feel the need to roll in anything stinky, since mom just gave me a bath a few days ago!

Mom had to work a lot today and then Dad wanted to drive his fancier car, so I didn't get as many car rides, either. :( I went to the living room window and gave them a piece of my mind, as they drove away! They saw me barking and looking sad.

Then, when Mom came home, the door was locked and she didn't have a key, so she had to wait until my older sister heard me barking, so she could let Mommy in. I knew it was Mommy and I couldn't understand why she wouldn't just come in! Eventually, my sister heard the barking and came downstairs. Thank goodness!

So, what happened to all our snow? I love playing in snow. Tonight it was raining and I had to poop in the rain. I hate that! Oh well.

Well, yesterday my humans came home from some fair and I was really starving. So I gave them my big brown eyes act and they finally realized I was hungry. Well then my momma said there was no more food for me. :(

but I became happy quite quickly because i heard mom say "go" "car" and "petstore" sweeet.

in the car, i get so excited. the petstore is one of my favorite places. so many good scents to sniff, so many yummy treats! well we get there and my momma gets me a new bone..yayyy! and then she goes to the back of the store to get my california natural. yummmyy. And then I saw a dog and i just had to announce myself so i started barking although i don't think mom was too happy that i was making that much noise. it was an alaskan klee kai apparently. and then just a few minutes later i saw a puggle. and i had to bark again. well eventually i got over the excitment and quieted down.

and then the most amazing thing happened, my human sarah went and got me a cow stuffie that mooed. later that evening, i started chewing on it and wrecked the mooing thing. oh well.

My mom worked the last 4 days, really hard. Yesterday, she didn't have to work very long, but then she had to get the kids registered for school. She didn't have much time for the dog and it was sooooo hot outside, I couldn't come along in the car. It was boring just sitting at home, waiting for them to come back!

Then today, mom had to work from the time she got up, until about suppertime, then quickly changed clothes, took the kids to McDonald's and had to go to a park to watch Sarah play in a band concert. I think I had the best seat in the house, because it rained at the band concert! At least I was dry! It has hard being away from Mom, nearly the whole day! I'm so happy now that mom is home for the night! She told me she doesn't have to work tomorrow. That's a GOOD thing!

It was time for my kennel cough and distemper shots. Mom said I needed the kennel cough shot, if I would need to go back to the kennel. That guy is my buddy, so I need to be able to go back.

The vet was sneaky and got that first shot done without me hardly noticing, but when he got the second needle, I was more prepared for him and kept wiggling, so he couldn't shoot me with it. The vet made Dad lift me up onto the table and then I got to be closer to mom and I was more calm. The vet then got it done quickly! I was a stinker.

He always give me lots of treats and after the shots, I got to show off my superior treat-catching abilities! I caught 3 of the treats he threw at me! Mom says that when I first came to their house, I couldn't catch anything! First I learned how to catch the tennis ball. Now, I can catch even small treats! Humans love to throw treats to dogs, I've noticed. I had to learn and quick!

I stayed in the house, most of the day today. It's cool in the house and horribly hot outside. Although, that meant when Mom and one of my "sisters" went to the store, I had to stay home! I complained loudly! Mom said it was for the best, though.

The snow is melting and I'm so glad. I'm tired of walking though it and then my paw falls all the way through it. I don't even want to go fetch my balls anymore, because it's too hard to get through the snow! I'm glad there is more grass showing now. Mom likes it that it's getting warmer, too.

Speaking of toys, Mom bought me a Jolly Ball, recently. It has a handle, so I can pick it up with my mouth, if I want to. I have fun pushing it around the driveway and have even started chewing up the handle. Mom took it away from me, then, saying something about it being 'spensive. She says my compressed rawhides are for chewing!

Recently, I had a bath. Ugh. I can always tell when Mom has "bath" on her mind and I try to make myself invisible. It never works, though. She always gets her way. Everyone said I was stinky. I don't know what that means. Baths always make everyone happy, though, so I put up with it!

Then she came home, took me outside, changed back into regular clothes and I thought life was good. Then she left again, saying she had to meet with some friends and talk about a book! Sheesh, she had just gotten home! I whined EXTRA LOUD as she left me home, yet again! I hope that made her feel bad. When she finally got home, many hours later again, I was so happy!
It was the longest night of my life. Mom and one of the human pups had to go to the hospital, something about appendicitis. They had to spend the night. I missed Mommy sooooo much and just moped in my crate all night. I thought she was never coming home.

Fortunately, they came home early afternoon on Saturday. I was so excited and jumped all over mommy when she came in the door.

Then, on Sunday, Mom and Dad went to the pet store and bought a Hide-A-Squirrel. I like the little squirrels too much, though. They keep putting it on a shelf so that I can't destroy the squirrels so fast! Maybe they will have to get me a different toy! I like to unstuff the stuffies and find their squeakers!

Well, my humans finally bought me a new red ball. I have only been with them for 8 months, but I played really hard with the red ball and chewed out the squeaker and over time, kept making the hole bigger and bigger and bigger. The other day, a big chunk fell off!

I just love playing with the new ball. It rolls much better than the one with a big hunk missing from it! I would go nuts if I didn't have a big red ball to retrieve! Mom is always nice and throws it as much as I want her to, too! When I don't get it anymore, then we go back into the house. I even liked doing it when it was really cold outside, too! Now, mom says the temps are in the 30's and I'm a lot more comfortable outside!

On Christmas Day, mom found a rawhide bone under the stove. She gave it to me for a treat. She forgot one important fact, though. Rawhides make my poop loose as a goose! So, it really wasn't fair that she gave that to me and then the family left to go visit people for Christmas. I had to go potty so bad and no one was home. So, I had to make a mess of my crate! :( Fortunately, my people got home shortly after that happened. Mom got my yucky crate pad into the washing machine and dad washed the bottom part and Mom gave me a bath! Although, I had to go outside again when I was still wet and I got sooo cold. Mom covered me up with a blanket, though, and then I got all cozy again! The next day, I was so happy when mom put my crate together again. I had to go sit in it briefly, just to make sure it was okay again! (funny dog!) So, mom decided no more rawhides for me! I sure like to chew them, but they sure don't agree with the rest of me! I like to chew compressed rawhides and they don't affect me the same way, but what's even better are raw knuckle bones from the butcher! Yummy. Mom likes them because they keep busy for hours!

I stayed right by mommy, and made it hard for her to take pictures. She got some, though. We didn't stay out there very long, though. Mom was getting cold. Maybe she should grow some fur, huh?

The other day mom and dad were sick. Mom just laid around in bed all day. Only dad went to get the kids from school. At one point, mom was spewing stuff into the big white water bowl. I know, since I was RIGHT next to her watching. She had to get there too fast to shoo me away! I was nice and didn't make mom throw the red ball when we had to go outside. She seemed like she really didn't want to be outside, but someone had to take me potty. So, I was quiet and laid on the bed all day to keep her company. At night, she tossed and turned so much, I would have never gotten any sleep, so I slept in the closet, where they have an area for me to rest.

Fortunately, the next day, she felt much better and was more able to do normal activities. Phew, what a relief. I don't like it when mommy is sick. Today, one of the human pups is sick. They say she threw up, too. Ugh.

On the bright side, the humans went to the special meat store and bought pork chops for themselves and got me some raw knuckle bones to chew on! I didn't want to chew it in my crate, but mom didn't want raw meat goo on the carpeting, so I gave in and chewed it in my crate! It's hard to resist such a tasty delicacy right in front of me!
Hmmm, I think pumpkins taste good, but why when I was sniffing the pumpkins on the piano bench, did everyone yell at me? The youngest human carved a wolf baying at the moon on her pumpkin. Didn't they know it looked like a dog to me? Geez, they didn't have to hide it upstairs. I thought it was cute! Oops, maybe it was because I grabbed one of the pumpkin tops and chewed it up a little! LOL!

The other day, when were driving across town, I saw a dog shape on the window of an SUV! I got all excited and tried to talk to that "doggie!" I don't understand why everyone told me to shush! It was a dog! Although, it was kind of little! LOL! (Mom speaking now. It was a sticker of a boxer and only a silhouette! Jasmine acted as if it was a real dog!)

I keep chewing up my red ball. The humans keep saying they are going to buy a new one, but, yeap, they are all talk and no action!

Mom had to work all day today. I miss her so much when she's gone. It's a good thing those human pups remember to feed me when she's gone. Luckily, mom found a tennis ball and threw it a few times for me! Then I was ready to settle down for a nap. Of course, then I managed to lose the tennis ball, too!

On Sunday, I made one of the human pups happy by sitting on her bed for a while, before the newspaper came. All of a sudden, I have realized there is this noise that sounds like a door opening on weekend mornings, (not that I know the days of the week, or anything). This past weekend, I had to investigate, paws scrambling on hardwood floors and barking like crazy! I have figured out it's my job to make sure EVERYONE knows that the newspaper has arrived!

What a long day. I was stuck home and Mom was gone a lot. They said something about a party and then going to help clean out Grandpa Ralph's house. I just wish she could stay home with me. At least the kids took me outside to throw the red ball for a while and Mom and Dad threw the red ball for a while. It's still nicer having Mom home!

When they got home, I barked so loud, until I got around the kitchen table and could see it was only them! LOL! I don't want just anyone walking into my house!
