I would like to take a moment, and thank Dogster for honoring me as their "Dogster's Dog of the Day" on Saturday February 5. Dogster, you have no dog bones guess, as to how happy I was to hear that news. Thank you again.
And to all of my friends, thank you fur sharing in my special day. Thank you for the rosettes, and little notes, and for the posts in our blogs. If it were not fur you, my special friends, I would not have even know of my special honor. I was takin' care of my ma and her twisted back. She's okay now, so I have removed the velcro. But it sure was nice to have her around for those days!
I love you all, my very special friends, and Dogster for making this all possible.
Love and wags and Bichon kisses,

It's been a long two weeks, packed with fun and excitement, and my neighbor Buddy.
Buddy is a little bichon just like me. He lives next door, and we meet up on the block when our pawrents take us for walks. We bark and growl at our respective windows, when someone we don't know walks by, and we put on dancing shows for anyone willing to watch.
Well, for the past two weeks, Buddy had vacation at my house. We had a blast! Buddy's pawrents went away on vacation and Buddy stayed with us. At first, he would go to his house to sleep at night. But after a few nights, Buddy wanted to stay with me.
We had sleep over every night. Madison had lots of fun too. She would run around with us, and play hide and seek. Buddy wasn't used to hide and seek right away, but he got the hang of it. Madison hides behind the wall, and jumps out when we walk by.
Mom gave us baths and took us on lots of walks. I've been so tired at night that I didn't have one single pippie accident while Buddy was here.
Buddy's pawrents come home tomorrow, I'm glad he lives right next to us, I'm sure gonna miss my pal. I guess we'll just have to sneak out at night when mom is sleeping.
Shhh...don't tell.

I've been tagged by my pal Raja! In this tag game you are supposed to list three things you have done for animals.
My pal Raja has done lots of wonderful things for animals!
Anydog, here are the three things that I have done for animals.

1. I have learned to treat the neighborhood ducks with respect. I used to think they were just like my dolls. I even picked one up in my mouth when mom turned her head for just one second. I didn't hurt the duck, I just wanted to play. But mom screamed! I knew I had done wrong. She said that I am NOT to go near the ducks, so now I just look.

2. I was one of Jeffrey's biggest cheerleaders! Jeffrey is a dachshund, a cute little guy. He was in need of a furever home. And guess what? Jeffrey found his furever home!
There are so many other dogs like Jeffrey in need of a furever home. Please go visit Chance, Jeffrey's foster brother. Chance is a real cool dude. I have met him a few times at some rescue events. Here is the link to Chance's Dogster page.
http://www.dogster.com/dogs/498165

3. Last but not least, I am trying to talk mom into giving some time to the fur-babies that were rescued from the puppy mill in Tarpon Springs. If you would like to read more about these dogs, go to http://www.suncoastanimalleague.net

I was going to tell you all how I helped clean my cat sister Madison's litter box. BOL! Mom made me take it off the list though.

Now I will tag 7 furends and let’s see how it goes… remember furends, after you post let me know so I can read your diaries! Three things you did for animals!

I tag:
Roo, Paddy and Shamus, Mojotiki & Sierra, Dereck and Koshka, Chloe Chanel,Lola Rose,

What a day!
This morning I woke up and and gave mom a great big bichon kiss. I told her that I would love to go to the dog beach at Honeymoon Island for my birthday. Mom didn't want to get out of bed, AHH, the nerve of her! So, I went to check my Dogster page.
WOW! I had lots of paw-mails and presents and bones! I blitzed back to the bedroom with a cup of coffee for Mom and my laptop. I showed Mom all the warm wishes from my pals. She sipped on her coffee and jumped right out of bed.
We packed our beach bag with dog treats and water, sunscreen and towels. Dad came home and tossed his iPod in the bag and we were off! Off to the Dog Beach!
It was a beautiful day at the beach. There were lots of dogs out, swimming and playing. I went wild! I ran in circles and blitzed in the sand. Mom took me for a swim, and Dad ran up and down the beach with me.
I sniffed lots of noses, and fannies too! I dug great big holes and kicked sand high up in the air. High into the sky for all my pals at The Bridge.
I wish all of my Dogster pals could have been there with me, for my birthday at the beach. Thank you all for being my friend, and for making my birthday a great one!
Bichon Birthday Kisses!

Well pals, it looks like I am worm free! Mom caught on to my act though, and figured out that I could still find a way into Madison's litter box, even with the cute privacy wall mom put up for her.
Well, it's really blocked off now, no way am I getting in there anymore! That stuff really gave me a belly ache anyway.
So get this! I had a very upsetting and embarrassing incident this morning. I'm usually very good about making my nuggets outside, but for some reason I REALLY had to go this morning and mom was still asleep. I made some sounds for her to get up, I don't think she heard me. So what's a dog to do? Well, I went and did my business right in the living room! I left behind two little nuggets for mom to wake up to.
But that wasn't the big deal. The BIG deal came after. I felt so funny after I went number two on the floor, something was hanging from my fanny! I ran upstairs and it chased me!
I cried and cried, mom heard me but she just couldn't wake up. She thought I heard another dog outside or something and didn't think it was a big deal. I never carry on in the morning. When I realized there was no hope of getting mom out of bed, I went under the bed, and didn't come out for hours.
Dad came home at 12:30, and I didn't even greet him at the door. They tried to coax me out with my cookies. They tried to trick me by ringing the door bell. But I wouldn't come out.
Mom came upstairs with a cookie and laid it on the floor, ahhh, I couldn't resist! I came out far enough to reach the cookie, and just like that, mom scooped me up.
Mom carried me downstairs and put me down thinking I would be very excited to join dad outside. I wasn't very happy to be standing up on my own. That thing was still there, hanging from my fanny and mom didn't even see it! What the dog!!! I dragged my fanny all over the floor, scoot scoot scoot! Finally, I got her attention!
Mom put me out on the sidewalk by dad, scoot scoot scoot on the sidewalk. Now she looks at my bum!
There it was, a dangling turd, hanging by a long blonde hair from my fanny.
Dad grabbed a tissue and pulled that dangler right off of me! And I was my normal happy self again.
That wasn't the first time I had danglers, and it's all moms fault. It's her hair! Some of you might even remember the story about my cat sister Madison and her dangler. It scared the cats out of her, she jumped SO high in the air thinking that something was chasing her.
So, mom promised to wake up if I ever ask her to again. Thank goodness for that, I don't ever want to go through that again!

Hello Dogster pals...
I may have a big problem here. I know I can turn to my fellow Dogster pals for help, and not be too embarrassed.
Mom noticed my poo had funny looking sesame seed looking things in it, about a week ago. I had a sick belly too, and I threw up, what looked like sesame seeds. Mom called her father, he's a vet in NJ, and while she was talking to him she figured out I may have been getting into my cat sister's litter box. She has new litter, whole wheat, and the box says it's tasty to dogs, sweet. Mom thought I ate litter and got sick.
Then mom noticed that every now and then my poo would look funny, like it had seeds in it. But couldn't figure out how I was getting the litter, mom put up a litter hider that blocks the entrance and I can't get into now. So what's with the seeds in my poo?!?! and tonight my poo looked like seeds inside of, (how do I describe this?) sausage skin!!! That's what it looked like, the outside part of sausage YUCK with seeds in the middle!
Mom's brother told her tonight it might be WORMS!!! AHHH!!!! Mom will for sure not sleep tonight. Mom's brother said it could be worm eggs and tape worms can come from fleas.
I'm on Frontline, but there are lots of fleas in Tampa, maybe a few got on me and I ingested a flea, then got the tapeworm.
Mom cleans up my poo outside, but lots of people don't clean up after their dogs.

Okay, I feel so yucky I won't even stay upstairs with mom. I'm by myself on the sofa. Something is not right here.

Mom just did a litter test, she took clean litter and put in under the water, and it does look like seeds, like the stuff in my poo. Maybe it is litter.
*throws paws up in the air

I guess we will have to wait till morning and have mom call my grandpa again.
He might tell us to go to the vet down here, or maybe mom can take a picture of my poo and send it to him.
*blushing
Well, I really needed to get that off my chest. Please let me know if you have ever experienced anything like this.

Well every-pup, I'm back in Florida. I've been back for almost a week now and I'm all set to head back north again.
I had the most pawsome time in NJ and PA! I forgot how much fun it is to blitz in the snow and hike the Appalachian Trail. I am quite the little hiker, I charge right up the trail. The best part about the hike is I got to be with Roo! I miss Roo lots. Roo is a wire haired fox terrier, I guess she's kind of like my aunt, I think.
Guess what? On my trip up north I got to meet my best pals Cocoa and Ginger from Williamsport PA in person! My human great-grandma lives in Williamsport, the same place as Cocoa and Ginger! Totally pawsome! We met up in the park and walked all around. Before Cocoa and Ginger got there, I was chasing Williamsport squirrels all over the place. I sniffed out one of these little creatures, one who met an untimely death from what seemed to be a fall from a tree. I didn't tell mom what I was doing, I just tugged on my leash. Mom thought I was just playing, but I got her good! I picked the deceased little squirrel up in my mouth and proudly held it up for mom to see, I finally caught one! Well, needless to say, mom wasn't quite as proud and happy as me. She let out a scream that stopped the whole town for a few seconds. Dad and Uncle John thought I had been hit by a car the way mom screamed! I dropped the poor little squirrel so fast when I heard that crazy sound come from mom's mouth, and I wasn't allowed to give kisses the rest of the day.
I also got to see where mom went to school! I walked all over campus strutting my stuff, that was lots of fun. And how about this for a small world, Ginger and Cocoa's mom and dad went to Lycoming College too!
I can't wait to see my good pals again, I'll be back Ginger and Cocoa!
Yes, my trip was great fun. I got to meet lots of new dogs and lots of kitties too.
I'm so glad I got my white Christmas after all.

Well, I'm in North Carolina, at a hotel off of 95. We left for our Christmas trip at 3 am, and mom didn't get any sleep before we left. We drove till about 2 pm, and mom started acting VERY strange. Dad was driving, and he didn't know how bad mom really was right away. I was scared for mom and stayed very quiet in my bed in the back seat.
Then we finally stopped at a place that allows dogs and we put mom to bed! The best part, they have wireless here so I'm able to get on Dogster!
Tommorow is Christmas Eve, and I want to get some more rest too, so I better get going! Mom and I are NOT getting up at 3 or 4 am like dad wants to. BAH HUM BUG on that!
We want to sleep till 8 and have a nice relaxing trip the rest of the way.
Safe travels to all who are on the road or in the air!
And a very Merry Christmas to all!
Holiday Hugs!

My dog was it cold last night! I never thought I would say I was cold in Florida, but last night was really cold. Mom was even shivering! I nuggled up in the blankets all night long. In fact, I was so cold I buried my head under the covers and stayed right next to mom till morning. Crazy thing is, it was 82 degrees the day before, then it went to 40 degrees overnight! Today it started to warm up again. I hope the humans don't get sick on me, mom is a real grump when she's sick.
I have really good news! I haven't updated my diary in a while and I just noticed I haven't told all my pup pals about my friend Chance. If you read my last entry, you know that Chance was very sick. We were all worried about him.
The wonderful news is.... Chance has NO cancer!!! WOO HOO!!! I blitzed and sighed with relief when we got the news.
My other good news, I'm headed north for Christmas! I started packing already, I have so many sweaters, mom said I have to narrow it down to just a few. The nerve of her! I'm packing all of my sweaters, and she can take those silly things for my feet back to the store! Mom came home with paw-protectors today. She said it would prevent salt and cold snow from getting in between my toes. I think she forgot where I'm from. I played in the snow all the time in NJ before I came to Florida. So those things that make me walk all crazy can go back! I'm humiliated that the neighbors had to see me in those things down here in Florida. Mom tried them on me and took me outside where everyone could see. I swear you could see the red on my cheeks through all my fur, embarrassment!
Well, I'm headed up to my bed! Nighty night!!!

I had a pawsome day yesterday!
Mom took me to Crest Lake Park to attend the annual Dox-A-Palooza event. There were so many little dachshunds running around having a ball.
Some of the DARE dogs were there in hopes of finding their furever home. Check out their web-site, www.daretorescue.com , what a wonderful group of humans volunteering together for a great cause!
So, as you can imagine I must have looked pretty silly, being a bichon and all. I was doing the famous bichon dance for everyone and everything. I did look silly, but everyone made me feel right at home. I was the doxie wanna be for the day!
The best part of the day was spending time with my pal Jeffrey. He had his wheels on yesterday and was boogieing around visiting with everyone. Jeffrey even ran in the weiner race. He took 4th place! Go Jeffrey! What a cute little guy! Jeffrey's foster brother Chance was also at the event. I was so happy to see how well Chance is doing. He was able to get up and walk around a bit! It was really great!
If you didn't get to read in one of my past entries, Jeffrey and Chance are special needs dogs being fostered by a really special lady and her pawsome son. They have done an amazing job of getting them to where they are today. And that's on top of the other fosters they take care of! Bravo foster pawrents!
Any dog, I was pooped by the end of the day. When we got home mom put me in the shower right away. My white fur was grey. I just had to kick all day long, I kicked dirt at everyone! Dirt on pants, dirt in bags, and dirt all over me!
So my shower was nice, until mom found a tick on me! My very first tick living here in Florida. Thank goodness they don't have those nasty little deer ticks down here. I thought my day was over after all that, and then mom and dad took me for a visit to a friends house. We were only there till 10, but my dog was I tired!
Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend too!
And be sure to check out www.daretorescue.com !!!

I've been tagged by Hairy H. Parker, Esq. 583302! Hairy is one of the cutest pups I know. You just have to see his halloween outfit! Hairy wasn't feeling well a while back and I was so worrried about my pal. He's a fun loving little guy who deserves only the best!

Here are the rules of this particulardogster/catster game of "tag". In case you've never had a chance to play, when you are tagged, you post
something nice about the pup/kitty that tagged you. PLUS, something nice about each of the pup/kitties you tag. Compose a new diary entry, with the rules and put them on your page. Then, pick 10 pals (cats or dogs) to tag but make sure you tell them (via pmail or a rosette, whichever suits you best) that they have been tagged. But you must let them know and make sure you post their names in your diary too.
You dont have to play if you dont want to!!
Remember, it's suppose to be fun!!!

Now I will tag:
Jeffrey - Jeffrey is a pal of mine that is looking for a furever home. He's the sweetest little guy I know. We met each other in the dog two times and Mom and Dad are thinking about making him my brother!

Cocoa - Cocoa is my buddy from Pennsylvania. He lives in a neat little town where mom went to school. Cocoa was adopted by his pawrents and he joined his sister Ginger. He's one of my best buddies!

Ginger - Ginger is Cocoa's sister. She a sweet little doxie. She and her brother Cocoa are really cool. They are involved in lots of events that help out other pups. They even won Grand Prize in PetSmart's National Howl-o-ween Photo Contest in 2005! Ginger and Cocoa have pawome pawrents!

Roo - Roo is a wire haired fox terrier. She is sort of like a cousin to me, I think that's what we are. I think she was my aunt when my grandma was alive, but now she lives with my uncle so she's more like a cousin.
Roo loves rocks! If Roo could play with rocks all day she would be so happy. Roo also loves to hike! She's one of the best hikers I know. She's even the mascot for Doggie Day Trips, a group that takes NYC dogs for hikes in the mountains of NJ. You might even see Roo on one of the hikes with www.doggiedaytrips.com

Chrissy - Chrissy is a second cousin to me. She's a cute little white dog and lives with her mommy. Chrissy just moved into a new home with her mommy and had a little trouble adjusting, but she's doing great now! Chrissy is a real loving little pup. She makes everyone around her happy, especially her mom!

Allie - Allie is also my second cousin. Allie lives with lots of other dogs and loves to play! Allie is such a cutie, she's a black dog with cute little white spotts on her belly.

I'll be back with more in a bit!

I've been tagged by my dancin' pal Buzzy!
RULES:
When you are tagged you have to post 7 random facts about yourself (and the rules because some doggies may not know what they have to do). Then you have to pick 7 of your pal’s to tag (choose 7 who have not already been tagged, as this become more of a game, and more doggies can get involved in the fun! Once you have selected your 7 friends you tag them by paw mailing them or by giving them a rosette with the message, “You’ve been tagged please read my diary for the rules”!

7 Random facts about Me, Bodie!

1. I love my neighbor Buddy.
2. When I'm out and about I like my water right out of the bottle like mom!
3. I love to go for car rides, I even wear a seatbelt!
4. I have lots of dreams when I sleep, I cry and kick.
5. At night I sleep in the big bed, with my head on the pillow like a little man.
6. I think it's too hot in Florida, I miss playing outdoors more often. Especially in the snow! Yippie!
7. If someone is hurt or upset, I try to make them feel better.

Now I'm going to tag...hmmm, let's see...

Oh boy! I got a great new toy today, and it's a treat too. My friend Jeffrey told me about his kong, and how he likes it filled with peanut butter and then put in the freezer. Well, you better believe I sent mom out right away to get me a kong!
I love this thing! It took me a while to get the hang of it though. It was rolling all around, and I couldn't pick it up. But now I'm using my paws and the wall to get at the frozen peanut butter inside the kong. I can pick it up too!
Well, gotta get back to my kong! This thing is going to keep me real busy!

Big trouble this morning!
I have been waiting for a delivery from the man in the big truck, a new computer, and have been awfully excited about it. I'll be on Dogster all the time chatting with my pals! Well, I got a little too anxious this morning and snuck downstairs while mom was sleeping and had a few accidents. I even did number two right in the middle of the floor! Mom wasn't too happy about that, but she was reasonable. Until she saw that I made pippy in a few spots! Oh boy, was she angry! She had to clean up my messes with bleach, and that made her even more upset with me! My mom was making lots of funny noises, I think humans call it dry heaves.Whatever it was, it was awful! So I took off up the stairs and under the bed!
Next thing I know I was being pulled out from under the bed, she got me! My little heart was going pitter patter, I knew I did wrong! Mom put my harness on me and off we went, outside to make more pippy! And boy is it hot out there! I can't stand to be outside this time of year! Hmmmmm, maybe I'll make pippy inside again, so I don't have to go back out in that heat...I'm kidding mom, I'll go outside and do my thing!

Here's a story I wrote for one of the groups I belong to. And guess what, I won the funniest story about Dad and me! I even got a special rosette!
Here it is!

I remember when I first bonded with my dad.
Mom didn't know my dad too well at the time, but they were getting to be friends. He would come over and play with me, but we never really had a true bonding experience.
Then one day mom got an urgent phone call that a family member was in terminal condition in NJ. Mom had to get there right away. Since she didn't know many people in Florida, she asked my dad to watch us while she was gone.
Dad took me for lots of walks while mom was gone! Mom left him with very specific instructions about my eatting and poo times. But I wasn't eatting very much of my food. I don't know if I was nervous with mom being gone or what, but I didn't really want to eat. I just layed around on mom's bed and pillows.
And then dad and I bonded.
Not eatting properly had made me really constipated! Dad took me for my nightly walk, he thought all was well, and that I was done with my business. Until he discovered a turd hanging from one of mom's long blond hairs, still attached to my bum! Dad didn't know what to do! He never had a dog in his life! And there he was, this big guy with big muscles, and me, a little white bichon, and a dangling turd!
Dad took me back to my house and was real nervous. He didn't want to leave me a mess, so he did the only thing he could do. He found a pair of scissors, and cut the turd in question right off of me! Then he discovered that I had made a real mess of my fanny and it needed a good washing. The next thing I know, this strange man, soon to be my dad, was cleaning my fanny! He didn't seem too happy with this predicament, but he took care of me none the less!
Then dad called mom in NJ, to tell her that we had a true bonding experience.
I just knew he would be my furever dad after all of that! And to this day, my dad takes very special care of me.

I had a great birthday! Mom took me to the pet store to pick out my birthday gift, and then later in the day we went back to the store so Mom could groom me. It's a really cool place where they have a self-grooming station set up. I was giving Mom kisses the whole time, I thought that was really neat.
When Mom and I got home I had my eats with my cat sister Madison. Then Mom put us in our playpen outside, and I opened up a few more gifts! What a blast! Even Madison had fun! She got party favor catnip!
Now I'm getting ready for some pup-cakes. Gotta run!

Mom says I have to get in my seat at 3:30 in the morning! That gives me about 6 hours to get some rest. Mom is sure to be cranky tommorow, so I better try and get some sleep.

Well, I made it to New Jersey! What a long ride! Dad drove straight through, and I stayed in my bed in the back seat most of the way. I'm a great traveler.
I was real tired in the car, but I'm feeling much better now.
I'm in South Jersey, and this isn't really home to me, I'm a North Jersey pup! But I'll have a good time anyway. Mom says we might drive up to Cape Cod, and I am going to see my house we used to have in Ocean City NJ. I love it there and am looking forward to running free on the beach!
My computer at home is still not working, but a friend of ours in NJ is going to fix it. I hope we get it back soon!

I am very envious of all my pup pals who get to play in the snow. It was 80 degrees in Florida today! Eeks!!!
I love playing in the snow and hope Mom takes me home this winter sometime soon. I love doing the buzz through the deep snow! What a blast! I remember having to watch out for the salt on the road though. Boy does that hurt my paws!
Mom got out all of my sweaters, but she says I can't where them outside here yet. It's too hot for a fuzzy guy like me!
Juicy Couture has a great parka out for us pups, and a really cool velour hoodie. Maybe Santa Paws will come to my house with the hoodie if Mom doesn't get it for me before then. She has to go home again for another funeral, so maybe she can pick one up for me in the city while shes there. I hope so, shes always leaving me. She even had me thinking we would take a road trip home together. But now she has to get on a plane again in a rush.
Well, have some fun in the snow for me!
Soon enough, Mom says, and I'll be buzzing around in the snow again too.

Today, my cousin Tibbs died. He lived in NJ with Mom's brother. He was Mom's mothers dog before she passed away from cancer, and now her little dog has joined her.
Tibbs had a tumor, and when Granddad and Uncle John went in to operate thay saw that the cancer had spread everywhere. My friend Tibbs is now at peace. But my Mom is hysterical and its making me so sad.
Yesterday Daddy Dougs Grandmother died, and my mom got very close to her in her last few weeks. Dads Grandmother told someone that my mom is an angel, my mom helped her to let go and be at peace. Mom left the house yesterday to be with her because she had a bad feeling, and Dads grandmother died while Mom was on her way there.
Mom is a mess. I hope she will be okay.
I sure will miss Tibbs. I was hoping I could go for a hike with him when I visit or move back to NJ, Tibbs loved to hike. He was just a little guy, a carin yorkie mix. He was a lot of fun. I feel so sorry for Tibb's sister Roo. She is a wired hair fox terrier. She did everything with Tibbs. They told Mom that Roo is there for the burial, and is sniffing around, she wanted one of the bones they were burying Tibbs with, so they let her have half.
Today is such a sad day.
Rest in Peace Little Tibbs. We all love you.

What a night I had! Mom and Dad took me to Dairy Queen. Drive thrus are the best! I get to stick my head out the window and show off for the workers. They asked my Dad if I was allowed to have a pup cup, of course he said yes. I got my own special ice cream while Mom and Dad ate theirs.
Then they took me to a little fishing pier on the bay. I had a nice little stroll, sniffing and tinkling on everything.
Then Mom saw the swing set at the park. I had never been on a swing before, but it was lots of fun swinging on Mom's lap. Before we left Mom took me through this crazy looking tube. I was soooo scared!!! But Mom crawled in behind me and pushed me on through. When we got to the top there was a big slide we had to go down to get out. No way was I having that! I laid down and just wanted to hang out. Don't they get it? Come Bodie, come! I wasn't listening. I was not going down that slide alone. Mom sat down on the slide and I crawled up on her lap and off we went! WEEEEE!!!!
