It looks like my diary is a bit behind in entries... The last one was written when Farlee came to stay. Well, my crazy humans brought home another foster shortly after getting Farlee. This second dog was a lab mix pup who wasn't even a year old. All she ever wanted to do was chew stuff (especially my stuff) and run like an idiot. After almost 2 months, Guinness found a permanent home. (I just hope their cat likes her so she can stay there!) Don't get me wrong, she was ok, but she was just too much energy most of the time. Farlee is still here. I guess people really do have a problem with age. (They can't handle their own aging and they can't see the value of a mature dog. I'm glad that I'm the resident dog instead of a foster now that I'm getting close to 4.)

My humans will both be home with me for the summer. They've never done that before. It's usually just one of them home with me while the other one works or goes to school. I think I'm going to like this. I've heard them talking about taking road trips. ( I like the car!) Maybe I will get more chances to write entries. (When the humans are busy, they are usually hogging the computer so I can't write...)

Well, Shiloh eventually found a home with people who adore her (according to the stories I've heard my humans telling). I am happy for her (and for me because she scared me). She was adopted and two days later, we got a new foster dog - Farlee. Farlee's ok. She doesn't snap at me for no reason and she's learned to kennel quite nicely (on MY pillow). I suppose I should be glad they don't let her sleep on the bed. (That would be grounds for war!) She's been here for over a month and it looks like she'll be here a while - something about having to finish treatment for a disease called Heartworm. (From what I heard, it's a pretty scary disease. I'm glad my humans give me that monthly preventative. They say that they would never do anything to let me get a disease like that. It's always nice to know I'm loved!)

Well, Einstein went to an adoption event last Saturday and didn't come back. I hope he's loving his new home as much as I love mine. I also hope that Shiloh gets a new home soon. She's supposed to be in today's newspaper as pet of the week, so more people will get to see her. She really needs a home of her own.

In the past two days, my parents have brought home 2 foster dogs. I know that they miss Daphne, but this is ridiculous. I guess it's ok, but I'm not sure that more than one foster is a good idea. Maybe one of the dogs will get adopted soon into a forever home where they can be as pampered as me! :)

Well, Bear was adopted and a week later we got Ziggy. He was a big yellow lab mix. He was such a goofball. He only stayed a few weeks and was adopted. Then they brought home Daphne. She was smaller than me (the first one this year who wasn't a horse!). She was afraid of just about everything. One of my humans would get down on the floor on her hands and knees to get closer to Daph's level. It took a long time before Daph trusted the humans. She liked me though. :) The silly dog wouldn't wag her tail or anything for the first few days she was here. I guess she had a rough life. I heard the humans talking about her coming from a shelter on her last day - whatever that means. After a month or so, she finally figured out what it meant to be a dog. She started to play and learned to not potty in the house. We were such good friends that she would crawl all over me and we would sleep curled up together. Today, the humans took her to an adoption event and didn't bring her home. I guess she got a new home. I'll miss her. I just hope she gets to be as pampered in her new life as I am here.

Well, I've been here a little over three years. Every time I think I get those humans trained, they pull something else. First it was Basic Obedience classes. I played along and that got me a trip to Canine Good Citizen classes. So, I took it in stride and passed with flying colors. Now, these crazy humans expect me to do everything! I pick up the socks from the floor, recycle the cardboard items in the house, and watch the bed while they go to work or school for the day.

Oh, and if that isn't enough, those humans have decided that one dog just isn't enough. They've become foster parents for a local rescue. There was a lab mix named Angel for a little over a month. I guess she got a good home because there's now a chow/collie mix named Bear staying here. At least the humans have enough sense to keep the fosters out of my bed!
