So, I got to go to doggy day care for a day. But guess what? When I got there, I was really shy. I was quiet and not really active like I am at home. I had to start out in the "couch potato" group, so that I was with other doggies who were calm or shy like me. Eventually I did play a little, though, and I made friends with another Ridgeback mix, and with a pretty Golden Retriever girl! She was cute! Mom said I get to go back again sometime, since I was a very good boy.

Max missed me, though. Mom said he was scratching at the doors and looking for me when I was gone. I think he was just jealous that he didn't get to go, but Mom said we must really be pretty good friends if he missed me that much. Guess I'm not as big a pain in the rear to him as I thought I was!

I'm so excited that I can hardly contain myself. Mom says I get to try Doggy Daycare tomorrow. See, I have more energy than my brother Max does, and Mom said it might be fun for me to play with some other doggies that have the same energy as me!! Wheeee! I can't wait to see what it's like. I hope they're nice to me and I make some new friends.

Oh, and I don't have to stay in a kennel when Mom & Dad are gone any more. I've been very good and haven't torn anything else up (except a little more of my bed, but that was toast anyway). I'm growing up into a very good boy.

Dear Diary,

I finally have a really cool home. I'm never going back to that Humane Society place - I like this arrangement much better. There's good food, like Peanut Butter, (WOW! Where's that stuff been all my life), and I get my own bed. I also get to lay on the couch, and on Mom & Dad's bed when they're not in it, and we go for walks, and play ball - and, oh yeah - I have a big brother to pester! Sometimes Mom tells me to stop picking on him 'cause he's not a puppy any more, but he's starting to limber up a little. Of course, all of the toys are mine, but I do let him use them once in a while (if Mom & Dad are watching and make me share).

I have to stay in a kennel for a while when my family is at work 'cause I chewed on these black tubes that come out of the ground. They were really fun to play tug with, but Dad said something about "irrigation system," along with some other words that he doesn't usually say. Oops! My bad! I tore up my bed some, too, and when I tried that on the couch cushion, Mom and Dad said I had to hang in my big kennel so that they'd still have a house when they came home. I'm a puppy - what do they expect? At least I go outside to potty!!!
