Mom got leaky today when she and Auntie Ann had to put a For Sale sign in Pappy's yard. Their nephew was going to buy the house, but can't get a loan so it has to go on the market. Mom had her heart set on having her nephew next door and not having to sell to strangers. I hope whoever gets it are nice humans who like dogs. Mom is worried they will get mad when Shiloh and I bark too much. But we have a right to bark at strange humans living in our Pappy's house. :(

Mom's brother had what appears to have been a heart attack this morning. His heart had to be started 7 times which caused damage to the brain because of lack of oxygen. The doctors says he is brain dead and there is no hope for his survival. He will more than likely be taken off the ventilator very soon. Mom is so sad and exhausted tonight. I am going to cuddle her very close tonight and make her feel a little better. Pawlese say a prayer for my uncle's family.

Mom got those black boxes out of the closet again and has started making a list. That can only mean one thing......;o(

Yup, I know all about those black boxes. Whenever they are brought out it means Mom and Dad are leaving and I ain't talkin' about just for an hour or so! If they take those black boxes, it means it will be for several days. And they always come home smelling of strange places. It means no treat when I go peepee in the morning and come right back in; it means I will have to sleep in my bed on the floor cause I am too hefty to jump on the big bed; and it means Dad won't be here to give me my afternoon pupperoni treats. But on a brighter note, it does mean Pappy, Auntie Ann, Auntie Sandra and Mr. Johnny & Mrs. Betty will be taking care of us. We will get to play with Lexi, Gizmo and the Beagles!! And Mrs. Betty gives us treats that Mom doesn't get for us. I will be sad the 'rents are gone but will look for the good things about their leaving. But they will surely get the cold shoulder when they return home from both me and Shiloh. ***but only for about 20 seconds*** HeHe

Today is a very special day. It is my Auntie Ann's birthday. She is my mom's older sister which makes her my aunt. Auntie Ann is my mom's very bestest friend besides being her sister. They were born 13 months apart and were best pals growing up. Oh, they had their ups and downs like me an Shiloh, but they have never stopped loving each other.

Aunti Ann always blazed the trails with Pappy and Granny. As soon as she got permission to do things like wear lipstick, Mom just dropped in line and did it too. Mom never had to do battle with the 'rents.

Auntie Ann always knows how to make Mom laugh, but will cry with her too. There are family fueds but Mom and Auntie Ann always stick together. They are a pack for sure.

When Auntie Ann turned 50, Mom bought her an old purple dress from the thrift store, a floppy straw hat with a hugh paper flower on it, and some old granny shoes. She made Auntie Ann wear them for her birthday party. Mom read her the poem..."I Shall Wear Purple ".
Auntie Ann went all over town showing off the outfit bragging that her sister gave it to her for her birthday. Mom started getting phone calls from the bank, grocer, and Post Office. It was so funny.

Fast forward a year when Mom turns 50................
Auntie Ann's gift to Mom was.....you guessed it....THE SAME OUTFIT!!! She told Mom she had to wear it all over town like she had done. Mom did and even took her camera to record the event. Just as Mom was ending the "event" she saw a poster with her photo on it. It was a plee to find her as she was deranged and needed pychiatric help!!
Mom nearly peed her pants. hehehehehe

Anyway, that is the kind of relationship they have. They share the good times as well as the bad. But most of all, they love each other. The bestest part is Auntie Ann loves me too!!!!
AROOOOOOOOOOOOO!

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNTIE ANN!!!

Mom and Dad have brought a new pup into MY house!! She is an obnoxious little brat. She plays with MY toys, eats from MY dish and gets the attention that should all be MINE!!!!
Shiloh has been here one whole week and reeked havoc on MY life. She has to be watched constantly. If she isn't chewing on something she is pottying on the floor!
But all in all, it is nice to have a sister to play with, as long as she understands I am boss!!!!

Today has been a very sad day for all us pups on Westies Unite. Our sweet little Isis has become too sick and weary to continue here with us. Tomorrow after being loved and cuddled by her parents, she will be heading to the Rainbow Bridge.
Little Isis was born in a Puppy Mill and has had many battles to fight in her short life. But up until the past several days, she has been able to weather the storms. She has fought the good fight but her spirit is kinder to her than her little body has been. It is with great sadness that we , along with her parents, will say goodbye to her. I will always remember her as our Little Princess Warrior. May her Parents find peace in knowing, but for them, she probably would not have lived such a wonderful life.
So, Godspeed little one.

I came from a far away place on an airplane to your home exactly 2 years ago. Not only was it the luckiest day of your life, but mine too. I am one of the most loved and cherished little pups on earth. I couldn't imagine my life anywhere else. I have a wonderful Mom and Dad, get treats all the time and when I am really good, I get Frosty Paws! I get to sleep in the big bed and sometimes I even share my space with my pesky kitty brother, Gus. I really do like him or else I would hurt him when I chase him. He puts up with my playfulness and hasn't scratched my nose yet. I have my own door so I can come and go whenever I want during the day. My yard is very big and has a fence around it. There are squirrels, moles and lizards to chase on the ground, but I don't stop there. I try to catch the birds in flight too. I have skin kids who visit Mom and Dad, called grandchildren, and they play with me. I love to play chase, with someone else being IT, of course. And I fetch really good. Sometimes I won't give it back right away but eventually I do as I don't want to bore my humans. Soccer is my favorite thing to play outdoors. I try to anticipate which direction the ball will go by the foot that hits it. I usually get it right and catch the ball quickly. I love my mom and dad so very much and I am thankful they found me. I am truly a very lucky pup indeed.
Maggie.....;)

Dear Mom and Dad, I am having a great time here in Cancun. Woodie is doing a good job of looking out for me. We had a little thing concerning Wendy and Billy, but I think that might be straightened out by now.
I was catching the rays yesterday after Attie Sme......uh..rubbed my sunblock on me. When I went in later I was fried! There is a dang Chihuahua at the cabana who is jealous of the attention all us Westies are generating and she substituted my block with oil! But Billy had some oinment, Woodie suggested Aloe and Miss Maddie had plenty of baby powder so I am all white again.
We are going to the Aztec Ruins today. Woodie and Digby are going to use Woodie's dad's metal detectors to search for coins or other artifacts that might be valuable. I have a diversion plan worked out to distract all the park rangers. Hope it works.
Well, almost time for the bus to leave for the ruins so I'll sign off for now. I'll write again soon. Luv Ya!!!
Maggie...having a really good time

It has been a while since I wrote in my diary. That last entry was my April Fool's joke. Not to worry, my mom and dad love me very much. I am the center of their world.
I have had my 2nd birthday since then too. I got lots of pressies. Mom got me some Frosty Paws and a cake all of my own. I have posted a photo to mark the ocassion.
I also had a slight accident since April 1. My dad is doing some home improvements and I accidentally tore my neck on a nail or peice of wire. I had to get 5 staples, a shot and some medicine because of it. But I was a good girl and didn't bite the vet. I knew she was helping me. My booboo is all better now.
I have been quite the huntress as well. I found 2 snakes for Mom and have killed several moles. Oh, do I hate those pesky moles.
Mom went away for a few days and I had to stay with Daddy. When she came home, I was so glad to see her. But after the initial wet, wiggly hugs and kisses, I hung out with Dad for the remainder of the day. I just ignored Mom altogether, until bedtime, then it was all snuggles again.
I entered the Snobby Dog contest and came in 4th out of nearly 100 entries and just yesterday, I came in 3rd in a Memorial Day Contest. My mom is so proud of me. I'll always be #1 in her eyes.
I am having so much fun on Westie Unite with all my Westie pals. They are all such special pups, each with his/her on unique personalities.
I will try not to take so long for my next entry.
See Ya!

As you can see from my latest photo I did indeed attend the St. Paddy's Day Pawtee last night. Woodie, the barktender, kept me in good supply of my favorite Irish Margaritas and they were simply delicious! He also gave some ever so funny toasts. The boys did an excellent job in obtaining the transportation, as you can see if you take our stroll at Westies Unite, Pawtee. And Bella looked just lovely in her (oh so snug) dress. Ichabod had some trouble with the green fire engine and had to be rescued or else he and Maddie would never had made the pawtee. Attie and Duncan were busy all night trying to get everyone to vote for our group name. And being from Florida you can guess what kind of fiasco that turned out to be! But at the end of the pawtee a winner had been selected and all is well. Congrats to Duncan Tryon for entering the winning name of MacHighlanders of the Moors. Spooky finally made it to the pawtee, somewhat late, but better late than never. I am not feeling very chipper this morning so I may just chill out the rest of the day. Good job Attie and Duncan.
Hung over,

The whole pack is coming: Attie, Duncan, Dixie, Ichabod, Madison, Bella, Duncan Tryon, Woodie, Sabbuca, Isabella, and countless others. Spooky is even trying to talk his mom into letting him join in the fun.
We are going to have a blast. The boys are always in rare form and there is no telling what will happen. This is my first pawtee and I am very excited. Mom has made me a pawtee dress with matching undies. Of course it is green for the ocassion. We will be having all sorts of snacks and drinks: eveything will be either green or Irish. Of course the younger ones will be drinking green Kool-Aid as they are to young for alcohol!!
I will write in my diary tomorrow and tell everything that happens. (Well maybe not everything)

Oh, how I love the Spring! The weather is so nice here. All the plants are blooming. The grapevine is budding out, so that means no more cold! Daddy says so. I love being in the yard. The birds are starting to look for nesting places in MY trees and I hate that. Mom says she is going to put a sock in my mouth if I don't stop barking at them! I do have a tendency to get carried away at times!
Mom has a purple pool for me to play in this Summer. I can't wait!! It was bought as a whelping bed but since I had the little girl operation, I can use it to swim in instead!! Yipee!! I'm sure swimming in it will be more fun than taking care of whimpering puppies would have been. Daddy wanted the puppies but when Mom was the recipient of 2 attacks against her while trying to protect me from Oreo (who isn't a Westie) she put her foot down and took care of that problem forever!!! THANK YOU MOM! KISSES, KISSES, and MORE KISSES!!!!!
Well I need to help Mom do some yardwork so better go for now.

This was the day for me to get my stitches out. My mom and dad made an attempt this morning but I wanted nothing to do with it. I am not into being held in a restraining way!!! So, off to Doc Engels we went. The doc was busy with a sick pet so the Receptionist/Assissant was going to make an attempt at getting Mom to hold me while she retrieved the stitches. NOT!!!! As I said, I DO NOT LIKE BEING RESTRAINED! A "backup" was called in and when all was said and done, my stitches were out. But it was no picnic for any of us. Mom said she wasn't taking a chance that I might "nip" someone in the process, so she had them put a muzzle on me!! How humilitating!!!! Then she and the assistant flopped me onto my side while the "backup" grabbed my back legs. Mom pinned me down to the examination table and held on for dear life. In 3 seconds it was over. No more stitches. Well maybe I was a little contrite, but as I said, I don't like being restrained!

To make up for all the wrong done to me, Mom took me to PetSmart for a treat. I got 2 big cans of Pupperoni, a new pink collar and lease (because I am a Girly-girl), a new doggie door for the new addition to the house, and a peanut butter Bark Bar treat shaped like, what else, a CAT!!!

Maybe I could have been better about my stitches and no telling what I could have gotten at PetSmart!!!!!

Oh well, tomorrow is a new day!
Waggles,

The morning started off with my wanting to stay in bed. By noon I ventured to the yard, ate a little lunch and finally took in some water. By mid- afternoon, I walked next door with Mom to visit the new puppy, Daisy and by the time my daddy got home from work, I was into looking for squirrels and wanting my treats. I will be as good as new in no time. Getting a Rossette from Atticus Finch (Attie), my Valentine, helped me feel better too.

Boy, am I feeling really, really, really lousy right now! My mom got me all excited about going Bye-Bye this morning only to bushwack me!!!! Little did I know she was taking me to the vet for a little girl operation. She didn't tell me it would hurt! After spending 3 days without my daddy, who I miss terribly, she did this to me!!! And to add insult to injury, Doc told her I was too fat and I have to go on a diet! No cookies, no all-day kibbles in my dish, no more lasagne, and NO MORE ICE CREAM!!!!!!! Yikes! Not that! But Mommy, I love my ice cream before I go to bed. I needn't worry tho, my mom can't stay on her own diet so she probably won't follow mine either, hopefully. (This is Mom and I will try really hard to cut her food intake back, as I want to keep her healthy. But a little ice cream once in a while won't hurt!)
See ya!

I am slap-dab in the middle of the little girl thing and hate it. I cannot go out in the yard without a lease or at least the "Doggie No-No Enforcers" breathing down my neck! I can't understand why I can't play with my neighbor, Oreo, anymore. And to add insult to injury, I have to wear a pull-up with a tail hole cut into it while I am in the house!!! How degrading!!!!! But my mom reassures me that next Tuesday I will never have to be humiliated ever again!! Hip-hip-Hurray!!!!! It was Dad who "thought" I, me, wanted puppies! Thank goodness my mom talked some sense into him!!! For once in their 37 year marriage he listened to her, which was a great thing for me!!!!! I love my mommy for taking care of me.

Soon to be liberated!!

Well, we are hunkering down again for a cold, windy day. Only yesterday we were basking in the warm beautiful sun and today we are all bundled up. That is how North Florida weather goes. My mom was able to bear her arms and legs in a tank and shorts to wash our vehicles 2 days ago! Infact I spent nearly the entire day outside in the sunshine. I much prefer those kind of days. This morning I had to put my coat on and fight gusting winds to take my morning potty break. Mom usually leashes me in the yard (it's fenced) early in the morning as I have a tendency to go "wild" with barking at anything and nothing if I am let out alone. The neighbors don't like me much when I do that! But she said it was way too cold to go out in her night clothes this morning. But I was a good girl, being it was so cold , and got straight to the business at hand, and came back in as soon as I was done. I may have been born at night but it wasn't last night!!!! I wasn't staying out in that mess either!!! We will just stay in and try to stay warm today, which suits me just fine.
See ya later!!!

Boy is my mom mad with Gus, my kittie brother, this morning! At about 1:30 a.m. this morning he came down the hall hollering like a cat with his tail caught in the door. When Mom finally fumbled to get her "glass eyes" and her slippers on, Gus had gone into the bathroom. I got up to see what the comotion was all about only to have the door shut right in my face. I could hear Mom raising her voice to Gus saying, "Drop it, Drop it"! Next thing I know, Mom is shoving Gus out the door and telling me to not come in. It turns out that Gus had been on his usual night prowl and had managed to capture a sugar glider. Mom was very thankful Gus had not actually killed the poor little thing and after catching it was able to take it to a tree in the yard and release it to fight again. But boy was she mad with Gus! It isn't like he dosen't get fed as he has a continuous supply of kibble at his beckoned call. Heck, he even uses my bowl as "his" feeding trough! He is following in his brother's pawprints. He was known to bring in some strange things himself, like two bats in one night!!! (1 alive and 1 dead) Dad had to remove that little "prize" as Mom was too scared of it.

Anyway, mom is threatening to close off the kittie door so Gus can't go on those nighttime safaris again. In the meantime I am still chasing the scent of that little glider all over the bathroom.
See ya!

Boy, am I hating today already! It is cold enough to freeze the tail off a brass monkey here. We were all snuggled in a nice warm bed and then that darn alarm clock went off. I knew I was going to hate the day as soon as my feet hit the floor. I didn't tarry long when I went out to do the potty thing and I have been trying to stay warm since. I think Mom will get some firewood up today and make a gigantic pot of chilli. That is usually the routine when it turns cold.
Maybe we need to move further south in Florida as North Florida winters can be pretty cold at times for us Southern girls. Oh well, this at least means more snuggle time for me and it isn't snowing!!!!!
Try to stay warm.
See ya!

Well, that fat man my mom told me about was very good to me. When Christmas came, I was so excited. He did bring me a new squirrel like Mom said he might. I also got a new collar, a Christ-moose squeaky, and some yummy yogart treats for my Kong chewy. So does this mean I passed the "nice" test last year? You bet your sweet bippy it does! All my kitty brother, Gus, got was one little toy! I did get in a little trouble when I tried to make it mine. I hope that won't count against me next year!!!!

I want to wish all my friends on Dogster an Happy New Year. May you get lots of love, treats, kisses, more love & kisses and may your fur stay managable over the next year!!!

See Ya!

My mommy brought this big box in the house this morning and before long there was a tree standing right there in the living room! Then she brought in some smaller boxes. Before I knew it she had put all these bobbles and bling-bling all over that tree. There is even one that looks like me!!!!!! I didn't think there could ever be a more beautiful tree until all of a sudden lights lit that thing up and I just knew the stars had dusted it in a rainbow of color! She said I had one just like it last year but being a baby I don't quite remember it. She has told me if I am a really good girl some fat man in a red suit, called Santa, might bring me a new stuffed squirrel as my old one is so tattered. I will really try hard to be a good girl, but I can't make any promises!

It is plain to see that I was a very good girl having my official Christmas photos taken. My mommy thinks they are wonderful, don't you? As some would say, "I clean up very nicely"!

The shopping has begun and I even got in on the wrapping yesterday! Mommy didn't think it was too funny when I kept trying to steal her tape though. Daddy finally had to take me outside with him to keep Mom from taping me up with the tape!!! That was more fun anyway, as it was "SQUIRREL TIME" in the back yard. Oh, how I love to chase those pesky little critters!! If only I could climb a tree!

Alto I didn't have any success in catching a squirrel, I did manage to, oh so briefly, get ahold of a mouse. That was thanks to my cat brother, Gus. He always has all the luck in catching things. Mom isn't too happy when he brings them to her, especially when I get a hold on them. I don't give them up as easily as Gus and she has to chase me forever to get it away from me. That is one reason she keeps telling me I need Doggie Boot Camp!

Here's hoping all my Puppy Pals have a wonderful day.
Catch ya later!!

I am so full of turkey I can hardly move. Not really, but I wish it had been that way. I did get a few pieces from the ole bird but not enough to make me sick. I even got to try something white, fluffy and sweet. I think they called it a marshmallow or something. I was not fond of that at all! My human brother shared the day with me. He teases me and calls me Maggot, which makes Daddy mad. But I know he is just kidding. He also says I am so ugly, I am cute, but I could be a good "chick magnet"!

I hope all my pals had a Happy Thanksgiving too.

Even tho I was a very good girl for my Christmas photos, my mom hasn't been very good to me this week. She is spending all her time working on something called a float for a parade. She hasn't paid me much attention! And yesterday she even left me alone for most of the day!!! The most heartbreaking part was she went to Petsmart and I didn't get to go!!!!!! She claims she had too many other stores to shop in. Huh, that's just an excuse! I bet she bought my Christmas presents as she wouldn't let me look in the bag when she got home.

Even with my being so upset with her, I still snuggled close in the bed last night as it got cold in the South. I nearly froze my little tail off. We Florida girls can't tolerate tempertures lower than around 70 degrees without putting the quilt on the bed!!! We even let my cat brother, Gus, snuggle with us, tho I made him sleep lower in the bed. I own the pillow space!!!!!!

Well, today is another day and hopefully Mom won't be so neglectful!
Until next time,

It is so cold here this morning, altho for most, Florida wouldn't be such a cold place! But I stayed snuggled in bed with my "mom" and Gus (my cat "brother") most of the morning. Around here if the temps are below 70 degres we get chilled. Not even my squirrels want to come out today. But later as the sun gets higher in the sky, those rascals will be out in MY trees giving me fits. Then it will be a battle between me and Mom for me to stop barking so much. Sometimes I can really be a magpie, disturbing the neighbors with all the barking, but they love me so much, they rarely complain. And hey! What's not to love!?! Here's hoping all my doggie friends have a wonderful day.
