I was tagged by my brother and sister, Chewby and Miss Harley, and my pals, Jake and Darby. I am going to tag five friends/relatives and tell them what kind of ice cream I look like. Then you tag five friends (hopefully some who haven't been tagged yet) and tell them what kind of ice cream you look like!

(Lyle is chocolate chip turtle ice cream...chocolate chip ice cream with caramel and hot fudge swirls. He is self-described "delicious".)

I am definitely marshmallow ice cream.

So let's see how ice creamy five more friends are:

My parents received this email from my Bridge pal, Lexi, to let them know how I am doing.

"I want you to know that Duncan is happy here at the Bridge. He misses you, but he watches you a lot. He gets to eat people food all the time, and his stomach never hurts. And he likes eating food without pills hidden in it. He doesn't have any allergies here. He can run and jump really well and there is no such thing as pain here.
He always rolls on his back for belly rubs. So the big dogs rub his tummy with their big paws. His furry hair is all thick and healthy, and people who have arrived here to find their pets have stopped to tell him how cute he is. He likes that.
Love, Lexi "

I AM NOT THERE

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.

It has been one week since our sweet boy has gone to the Bridge, and a very sad week it was. So many dogs and cats have asked if Duncan will still be around. The answer is, "Yes!" He will continue doing all his silly mischief. Best of all, his wedding to Bailey will be held on May 17. He can be even funnier now that he has wings. He already caused chaos when he tried to land at the "Your Key to Happiness" Cruise Line's party. Thank you all for your love and support this week. We could not have gotten through the week without you. We are in the process of answering all of Duncan's mail and thanking everyone for his rosettes and gifts.

i wanted to share a song with you,, u are in my thoughts and prayers,,,
you will be in my heart always xoxo KiKi and mama Chrissy :*

"Come stop your crying, it will be all right
Just take my hand, hold it tight
I will protect you from all around you
I will be here dont you cry

For one so small, you seem so strong
My arms will hold you keep you safe and warm
This bond between us cant be broken
I will be here dont you cry

And youll be in my heart
Yes, youll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
Youll be in my heart
No matter what they say
Youll be here in my heart
Always

Why cant they understand the way we feel
They just dont trust what they cant explain
I know were different but deep inside us
Were not that different at all

And youll be in my heart
Yes, youll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
Youll be in my heart
No matter what they say
Youll be here in my heart
Always

Dont listen to them, cause what do they know
We need each other, to have and to hold
Theyll see in time, I know

When destiny calls you, you must be strong
I may not be with you, but you gotta hold on
Theyll see in time, I know

Well show them together cuz...

Youll be in my heart
I believe, youll be in my heart
Ill be there from this day on
Now and forever more

Youll be in my heart
No matter what they say
Youll be here in my heart always

Always...
Ill be with you
Ill be there for you always
Always and always
Just look over your shoulder
Just look over your shoulder
Just look over your shoulder
Ill be there always"

You were still my lad,
You crossed Rainbow Bridge,
When you were on edge,
You make me sigh,
and sometimes cry,

There you see the rainbow,

My Ode to Duncan
Raja Babu Always

"Good things have no beginnings, sad things have ends. We rarely recall the day a friendship started, but we remember the day it ended. So, I will tell my story from the middle. That in-between place when friendship has warmed, and memories have a history. You long for your friend’s bark when you turn on the computer.
My pal Duncan was one such pup.

I remember the day I lost my pal to the Rainbow Bridge, but I do not recall the day when I first met him. It was a regular Dogster Day when he popped into my life on my favorite group STAFU. What was the first word he said to me? What was the first message? I do not recall the beginning of the friendship but I remember how I got his messages in the evenings. In that middle space, our friendship gained strength, and memories were built.

We found common ground. Two mixed-breed Tzu boys. In the early days, I discovered Dogster culture with Duncan. It was fun to learn together what could be said, what could not. When I started Magic Carpet Airlines, he was my co-pilot. When I started The Rag, he became the Vegas Poop Reporter. When he learned how to make pics, he made a picture of us wearing togas and sitting outside a famous club in Vegas that we had been kicked out of.

Dear Duncan, you remain in the middle of my life
That existential place of the everyday where events repeat
A bark, a wag, a walk down the road…
A single white cloud against a blue Nevada sky…
You are there
In the middle of my memories."

"A Dog's Will

The Legacy - Author Unknown

When humans die, they make a will
To leave their homes and all they have to those they love.
I, too, would make a will if I could write.

To some poor wistful, lonely stray
I leave my happy home,
My dish, my cosy bed, my cushioned chair, my toy.
The well loved lap, the gentle stroking hand,
The loving voice,
The place I made in someone's heart,
The love that at the last could help me to
A peaceful painless end
Held in loving arms.

If I should die, Oh do not say,
"No more a pet I'll have, to grieve me by it's loss"
Seek out some lonely, unloved dog
And give my place to him.
This is the legacy I leave behind -
'til all I have to give."

A Dogster mom sent me this email which Duncan and I would like to share.

"The story about the vet saying that many doggies go into water to cross to the Rainbow Bridge is very true. One of our neighbor's doggies went into the lake behind our house and drowned one evening. She was very old and not well, but her family made her comfortable and knew that their days together were few. One evening she walked outside, went into the lake, and passed on. She never had ventured out there before, and the vet explained that she was ready to cross to the Bridge."

We received this message from a friend I taught with.

"I hope that you are feeling a little better. I have been reading the notes from Dogster friends, and they are very nice. Our pets are good friends, and are sorely missed. A friend told me to tell you she is very sorry, but to share an interesting insight with you. She said that her dog was very ill, and drown in their pool. The vet said that it is many times a way that dogs choose to die. He said that he knows of many cases where dogs have gone into the water when they were very ill. It was not just weakness. My sister's dog also went into her pool, when she was ill. She had never gone there before. My sister had to put her down 3 weeks later due to her pain. My point in telling you this is what you already know - that Duncan was so very ill, that you might have had a tough decision to make very soon, or he would have died at home. I'm sure that would have been easier, but possibly he made this choice. Take care and try to keep busy, so you can have some peace."

Poem for Duncan

Our little friend Duncan has gone to the bridge
the pup with that cute black bow tie..
He was the one who made us smile,
And he wouldn't want us to cry...

We must remember the good times we shared
for he made our gatherings complete.
He could make us smile and laugh a bit
for when Duncan was there it was a treat !!

The best tour guide of Vegas,
showing us the hotels of our pick,
Teaching us the best to see
all over the Vegas strip!!

I think we will all remember him
making us laugh and dance and sing
cause his favorite shtick of all
was being Dunvis and the laughs it would bring !!!

So rest in peace, my friend Duncan,
and your memories live on...
Shalom, sweet friend, Duncan
You are the Dunvis Icon!!

This is the first time I've been on the computer since I heard the news about Duncan. I was in Los Angeles with my oldest daughter for the weekend. My last words to my husband were, "Don't leave Duncan alone outside because he's weak." Well, my husband put him out in the backyard at about 10 p.m. Saturday night. Then he went into the house to hang up the laundry. Duncan was so skinny that he squeezed under the fence. I'm sure he was looking for me. When my husband went back outside, Duncan was gone. Joel searched the park, but he couldn't find him anywhere. He was hoping someone would take him in for the night. In the morning, he put posters up around the neighborhood. Within 10 minutes, he received a call from some people about a half mile from us. Duncan had crossed a major street and had drowned in their pool. He probably was so disoriented. We are devastated. Thanks for all your kind thoughts and prayers.

I had a terrible weekend. I had a terrible reaction to a medicine called Azathiaprine. The vet had prescribed it for me on Feb. 20 to help wean me off the Prednisone. On Saturday, I couldn't even stand up. My parents stopped the new medicine immediately, and I improved a little Sunday and yesterday. My mom brought me to the vet yesterday. After a lot of blood work, it was determined that the Azathiaprine was the culprit. The vet also thinks the medicine might have had an effect on my liver and that I also might have a stomach ulcer. I'm on medicine for both anemia and the possible ulcer. I am walking a little more, but I'm still doing a lot of resting with my mom. I return to the vet's next Tuesday.

June 23, 2008
We left Las Vegas at 6:30 p.m. We were 2 of the 50 supporters who accompanied the UNLV (University of Nevada, Las Vegas) basketball team on a 10-day tour of Sydney, Brisbane, and Cairns, Australia. The team played 6 games in the 10 days. We also were one of several couples who were not given boarding passes. Our names were spelled wrong as were the names of our friends, Randi and Hector. The flight was uneventful except for the fact that Joel lost his wedding band about 4 hours before landing.

June 24, 2008
We completely missed this day because we passed over the International Dateline.

June 25, 2008,
We arrived in Sydney on time at 6:05 a.m. The temperature rose into the low 70s. No food is allowed into Australia. There was the cutest beagle whose job it was to sniff out food. The dog sniffed out food in two of our UNLV group members. They had tried to bring some fruit and a bag of trail mix into the country. Our driver and tour guide met the group. The team went on one bus, and the supporters went on the second bus. Our first stop was Bondi Beach. This is a very dog-friendly city. Dogs went in and out of coffee shops and accompanied their owners at the outdoor cafes. Dogs were both on and off- leash. All were well behaved and well trained. Maltese seemed to be the most popular dogs. Some were sporting their winter sweaters. Our city tour took us throughout the beautiful city, highlighting the parks, bay, and harbor areas. Dogs and their owners could be seen everywhere, enjoying the beautiful early winter day. Our second stop was called “The Gap” or “The Heads.” Our third stop was the Royal Botanical Gardens. We ate lunch on the harbor. After checking into the hotel, we rested and then went out to dinner at a harbor café with Randy and Hector.

June 26, 2008
This morning, our group took a tour of the Sydney Opera House. The structure houses five different venues. The guide told us the history of this magnificent structure. The opera house, which overlooks Sydney Harbor, is about a 15-minute walk from our hotel. After the tour, Joel and I went out on our own to the Hyde Park Barracks Museum. That was the first prison in Australia. Later on, it was the first home of Irish immigrants and homeless and abused women. The museum was about a 4-mile roundtrip walk from our hotel. The museum had a special exhibit on hulk ships, which the British used as prisons after they no longer could send prisoners to the American colonies. At night, we went to the first UNLV basketball game. UNLV lost to the Sharks. The officiating seemed to be pro Sharks. Any time UNLV got within one or two points of the Sharks, the referees would call a foul. The gym was not heated. By the way, my dad found his wedding ban. It had fallen into his carry-on.

June 27, 2008
We walked to the Queen Victoria Mall with Randi, Hector, and Tricia and bought some great gifts. Duncan and Bailey got matching Crocodile Dundee hats. Duncan also got an Australian soccer shirt from a store called Paws A While. Joel got a kangaroo belt. At night, the team beat a team called The Snakes in the snake pit. The gym was freezing. The bus driver got lost because of bad directions, and the bus got stuck in the entrance to the sports complex and had to be pulled out by another bus.

June 28, 2008
Today was our last full day in Sydney. I talked to the parents of Dozer and Annie. We walked to the outdoor market at The Rocks and bought a red bracelet and red earrings to match my red and black UNLV wardrobe. We bought some other nice souvenirs. Then we walked about 15 blocks to Paddy’s Marketplace. I bought a “Cougar Bourbon” camisole. I bought some beautiful opal earrings. Later in the afternoon, we went to the King’s School where UNLV beat the Razorbacks. The school put on a beautiful dinner for all of us. I spoke to Joanna, the mom of Dozer and Annie. It was like we had known each other all our lives.

June 29, 2008
We flew from Sydney to Brisbane. We checked into the Brisbane Hilton and had the city tour. We had dinner with Virgie’s Auntie Jo. She took the bus into Brisbane and gave us a tour of our area of Brisbane. Joel had lobster and a fish called bug. I had calamari.

June 30, 2008
We took the bus to Surfer’s Paradise. We walked around the beach area. Dogs are required to be leashed, and owners are required to clean up after their animals. We looked through all the shops, in particular, the only Hard Rock Café in Australia. At night, the Rebels beat the All Stars 96 to 76. Someone put a “reserved” sign on the front seat for Randi and Hector because they sit in it on every bus tour.

July 1, 2008
Today was our last full day in Brisbane. The weather was beautiful. We drove about an hour to the Australia Zoo. This zoo is known as the home of the crocodile hunter, Steve Erwin. We spent about 4 hours at the zoo. We got to feed and pet kangaroos and have our picture taken with a koala bear. We saw the crocodile show with crocodiles, snakes and birds of prey in the crock museum. We saw the Tasmanian Devil and a Komodo Dragon. At night, the Rebels beat the Pirates by 40 points, 98 to 58.

July 2, 2008
This morning, we flew from Brisbane to Cairns. After a short city tour, we checked into the Shangri-La Hotel. Joel did some laundry at a neighborhood laundramat and had fun talking “sports” with some new Aussie friends. He had half the coaching staff as company. At night, we lost to the Marlins by 2 points. We had been down by as much as 14 points. The officiating was questionable. When Coach Kruger protested a terrible call, he was given a technical. This team went to the ABA championship last year. At night, we went to the night time market. We both bought hats for tomorrow’s trip to the rainforest.

July 3, 2008
What an exciting day we had today! A group of us and our guide took a side trip to Kuranda. First, we rode the Kuranda Scenic Skyway for a 40-minute trip up into the mountains. Then, we spent about 3 hours in the small village of Kuranda. There were beautiful crafts and gifts for sale. We took the Kuranda Scenic Railway back to Cairns. The train wound through tunnels, giving beautiful views of the Barron Gorge. At night, we went to dinner at the night market. It is predominantly a collection of Asian booths. We ate at a pseudo-Asian take-out buffet.

July 4, 2008
Today is July 4. It feels so funny to spend Independence Day out of the U.S. Most of the other people on our trip went to see the Great Barrier Reef, but we stayed back in Cairns, a beautiful beach town which reminded us of the beautiful beach towns of Southern California. We walked around the downtown area, taking in all the shops. We even stopped at the Cairns Museum, and I bought an opal koala pin at the museum gift shop. At night, we watched a feature on the UNLV-Pirates basketball game on ABC (the Australian Broadcasting Company) on channel 2 in Queensland. This is Australia’s public TV network. The show was called “Stateline.” We, along with the other UNLV supporters, were shown quite a bit in the 5-minute spot.

July 5, 2008
On our last day in Australia, we got up at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, July 5 to be downstairs at 3:30 for our box breakfast, which turned out to be a ham sandwich. The bus came at 4 a.m. and took us to the airport for our trip to Brisbane. After several hours and going through Customs and being searched, we boarded our plane for Los Angeles. It left an hour late because of some minor technical problems. Qantas wined and dined us, but it was nearly impossible to sleep because our bodies thought it was daytime. Also, we were cramped into the seats. Joel had the window. I was in the middle, and a nice man was in the aisle seat. The plane arrived in Los Angeles an hour late. We had to go through Customs and get over to the domestic terminal. By then, all of us missed the connection to Las Vegas and had to take later flights. It was still July 5 because we went over the International Dateline and made up June 24, the day we missed going to Australia. We were up 36 hours by the time we opened our front door. We were able to pick Duncan up, but we didn't get to the parrot lady in time to get Koko. Wow! It was fun to travel, but there’s no place like home.

My pawrents arrived home from 10 days in Australia yesterday. They loved the country and all the wonderful new friends they met. They were among the 50 fans who accompanied the UNLV basketball team which played 6 games in this exciting country. The highpoints for my mom were meeting my pal, Virgie's, Aunty Jo for dinner in Brisbane and getting to talk on with the mom and dad of my pals, Dozer and Annie. It was a long trip home - 36 hours from Cairns to Las Vegas so I'm not bothering my mom too much because she's still out there.

1. I am thankful for having a loving home.
2. I am truly thankful for all my Dogster and Catster pals.
3. I am thankful for Petfinder and similar groups that have helped so many doggies and kitties find furever homes.
4. I am thankful for the Nevada SPCA and all the wonderful rescue groups around the world.
5. I am thankful for having senior citizen pawrents who let me indulge in my favorite hobby: extreme napping.
6. I am thankful for my mom who has forced herself to become somewhat computer literate.

IT IS HALLOWEEN TAG!!!!
I was tagged by my pals Whitie, Odysseus, Mato, Biscuit, Madison, Holly, Roxy F, Zoie, Frankie, Princess Puffy Paws, Thumper, and Loki-Doo. (I hope I didn't leave anyone out.)

Here are the rules:
Each player needs to tell seven random facts about themselves. Tagged dogs must post the rules in their diary and their 7 facts. Then choose 7 pups to tag and list their names. Let them know by pawmail or rosette that they have been tagged and to read your diary for the instructions on how to play

1. I am a mama's boy!!!

2. I have a parrot sister named Koko.

3. I'm not a kissing dog. (My mom wishes I would give kisses.)

4. I'm missing some teeth so I like soft treats - no rawhide chewing for me.

5. I love to go for walks.

6. I wish my mom had more time to spend on Dogster like she did during the summer.

7. I love my Dogster pals soooooooooooooo much. Even if I don't keep up to date on answering my pmails, I still think of them.

The seven pups that I choose are Sparky, Foxy, Toby, Sassy, Diesel, Bailey, and Hershey.

Sparky has the coolest pages and pictures. He is one of my oldest pals on Dogster.

Foxy is as cute as they come and a great Dogster correspondent.

Toby is the supreme administrator of Tiny Paws Cruise Line. This Canadian guy is super cool.

Sassy is the best pal a doggy could have. Look at her page. There are more stars on her page than there are in the universe.

Diesel is a faithful pal. We go way back on Dogster. He is also one handsome dude.

Bailey is a beauty. She is my special pal.

Hershey is divine. She is such a loving pal, and she has the cutest baby sister.

Have fun pups and Happy Howloween!!!!!!!

Hi Everypup! My pals, Raja Babu, Chloe, Choco, Bailey, Thumper, Koho, Mischief, Hedwig, and Foxy tagged me.

The Rules:
Here are the rules of the game. Make a diary entry, giving 5 pawsome facts about yourself! Choose 5 pals to tag, and list them last! Post the rules of the game. Send your pals a pawmail or rosette telling them they have been tagged to play the game! Write 5 facts and tag 5 friends.

Here goes!
1. I take on more than I can chew.
2. I prefer the company of humans over doggies.
3. At doggy parks, I just sit with my mom while all the other doggies run around like animals.
4. I'm not a kissing dog.
5. I'm a personal acquaintance of President George W. Bush and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman.

So, I have tagged my friends Diesel, Cooper, Rocky, Yuji, and Blizzard.

Love you Guys!

I'm very lucky. I've been "love-tagged" by Buddy and Roxy.

Buddy is a 2-year-old toy poodle from Illinois. He loves to go fishing. He has a super page with a great slide show on it. He's also a New York Yankees fan like I am.

Roxy is a sweet Tzu from Springfield, MO. She is sooooooooooooooo beautiful. Toby is her boyfriend. We are in a lot of the same Dogster groups.

RULES OF THE GAME: It’s a new Dogster tag game – “You are Loved”!You pick three Dogsters that you think are fantastic and tell a little about why! Don’t forget to let them know how much they are loved with a p-mail or a rosette!

First, I choose Veronica. She is half lhasa like I am. She is a Canadian beauty and a gifted tour guide. She can do so many things and loves the outdoors. She also makes great pictures for her page and looks beautiful in red.

Next I choose Lucky Star. He is a 7-month-old toy poodle who lives in Tokyo, Japan. His page always has beautiful pictures on it. He makes such nice pictures for his friends. He has such a pretty mom and handsome dad.

And last, I choose Hollywood. She is such a cute tzu. She lives in Ft. Worth, Texas. Her dad is a published author. She is so good at planning events for Tiny Paws.

Have fun 'Love Tagging'

Here's the newest dogster tag - being loved!
Pick 3 dogsters you think are really pawriffic and paw a little about why! Let them know how much they are loved with a rosette or by paw mail!

I was tagged by Furio. I always feel safe having Furio around. He's part Bloodhound and part German Shepherd. Furio was one of my first Dogster pals. He is an only doggy like I am. He and I are both Petfinder and rescue doggies. We're also both AnimaLimpix competitors. Furio and I love to bark about college basketball and football. We follow a lot of the same teams and can speak the same sports language. His parents have a UNLV connection which makes him and his family #1 in my sportsbook.

I picked 3 wonderful pals who I don't think have been tagged yet:

Chloe Girl: She is a Canadian cutie with a lot of spunk. Her mom is a creative genius when it comes to making great pictures. She has three brothers: Vern, Cokenee, and Koleko, but she's the star of the family. Her boyfriend is Satchmo, a good friend of mine from Rochester, New York.

Duffy McDuff: Duffy is a great friend. This Scotty hails from Missouri. He has a heart of gold. He is always willing to make a picture for a fellow Dogster pup, no matter how much he's being bombarded with requests. And his pictures are super! What an imagination this guy has! His family includes Biffy and Little Sahib at the Bridge.

Frankie: Frankie is a miniature Doxie. He is such a great friend. He is almost a neighbor of mine. He lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, just a hop, skip, and a jump up Route 15. He is an only doggy and was adopted, just like I was. He is so cool and loves to socialize. He has the cutest girlfriend named Miss Frankie. His mom is a wonderful artist. Take a look at his page.

7/10/07

I'm going to tell you something about my hometown, Las Vegas, Nevada. It has a lot of nicknames such as "Sin City" and "The Entertainment Capital of the World." Both names are, for the most part, appropriate. Evolving from its shady past, Las Vegas now has about 1 million residents. Our mayor, Oscar Goodman, is a former Mob lawyer and is still known as "The Mouthpiece of the Mob." He actually played himself in the movie, "Casino." For 50 years, there have been so many movies and television shows filmed here. Probably "Viva Las Vegas" with Elvis Presley and C.S.I. are the ones most people are familiar with. People all over the world are familiar with The Strip where all the famous hotels are, but there is also a viable community where people have regular jobs. We have hospitals, schools, and supermarkets like every other community, but our supermarkets have slot machines and video poker machines in them. After paying for your groceries, you can put your change into about a dozen different machines and watch your ice cream melt onto the floor as you gamble your change away. As with everything else, Las Vegans go "over the edge" when caring for their pets. Pet boutiques, bakeries, and warehouse-sized stores abound in every part of the Valley. For anyone who's ever flown into Las Vegas, you've noticed that our airport also has slot machines and video poker machines, but no locals would ever gamble there because they know that the airport machines have the worst odds in town. Las Vegas is a city where adults can live on the edge and do crazy things for a few days in their lives. It's proud of its slogan: "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." A few decades ago, Las Vegas was the tramping ground for "has-been" entertainers, but it's not anymore. Since the Millennium, all the large hotels, and some of the smaller ones, have opened night clubs and hot spots which are frequented by the famous and infamous. Most don't open until midnight, and tourists wait in line for hours to get in. The entertainment offered is unbelievable. There are Cirque de Soliel shows, Broadway plays, pop stars, hypnotists, and about every other type of entertainment you can imagine. You can even take classes in striptease and pole dancing. For anyone seeking highbrow entertainment, UNLV (The University of Nevada, Las Vegas) offers a great classical concert series as well as theater classics. People still come here to get married, and the courthouse is open into the early hours of the morning. Only the hardy or the naive visit during the summer when temperatures can hover around the 115 degree mark for several days. Our winters are mild with temperatures in the 50s and low 60s. Sometimes, temperatures can go down to the 30s, but that's rare, and they don't stay there very long. If you leave the Strip, there are all kinds of activities that are fun. Mt. Charleston is a 45-minute drive from the city. There's camping and hiking trails, and in the winter, there's skiing, sledding and snowboarding. Death Valley is about 90 minutes away by car. Some of the local casinos have started marketing themselves to the destination vacation crowd. Green Valley Station on the east side of town and Red Rock Station on the extreme west side of the city are new and beautiful with clubs, spas, and gourmet restaurants. The Downtown area of the city is part of huge urban renewal project. The Fremont Street Experience is a laser light show on a canopy over several blocks which have been turned into a walking street. Come and enjoy our exciting city, but here's some good advice. As planes depart from McCarren Airport, a lot of pilots announce to their passengers, "Look down and wave goodbye to your money."

So here are 7 fun facts about Duncan...

2.) I'm friendly with all the neighborhood doggies who hang out in my yard.
3.) I want to be a private detective so I practice sneaking around the house.
4.) I practice my Elvis and Liberace impersonator act when nobody's home.
5.) I know that my mom rescued me at the SPCA and I'll always love her for it.

Hi Everyone,
This is a new game of tag. I've been tagged by Samantha.

Here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

So here are 7 fun facts about Duncan...

1.) I won't let my dad into bed with my mom if I get into the bed before he does.
6.) I'm not very enthusiastic about my mom adopting a sibling for me.
7.) My biggest fans are the prisoners my mom teaches at High Desert State
Prison. They think that I'm so cool.

So I am tagging...

Kudos to my pal, Abbie, who sent her hot air balloon to airlift me out of High Desert State Prison. I was caught bringing contraband to my mom's students late last night. It was just some Tequilla and burritos for her students in units 5, 6, 7, and 8 and their pet chihuahua. I was fine until I got stuck while I was sliding under the electric fence. The warden called my mom on her cell phone. She and my dad were at the Paris Hotel/Casino seeing the "Producers." That's why she's all dolled up. She was trying to impress the warden with my Animalimpix trophy, but the warden wasn't very impressed. Can you imagine what they called me? They referred to me as a "Benji type dog" in a poster asking about my whereabouts. I'm glad this whole horrible experience is over. I've sworn to my mom that I will follow the straight and narrow path from now on.

Last night, my mom and dad dressed me in my UNLV doggy T-shirt and sat me down in front of the T.V. to watch the UNLV/UNR game with them. I was a little cranky because I had a small growth removed from under my right eye in the morning, and the anesthesia was still bothering me. UNLV was a 12 1/2 point underdog to the Wolfpack which was ranked #20. Well, I cheered and cheered, and UNLV beat the Wolfpack at their home. It was the first time since 1991 that UNLV had beat a ranked time during an away game. I know it was my cheering and overt display of support that led the Rebels to this important victory. UNLV!
Hi Everydoggy and Everykitty,

I have very exciting news today, Saturday, November 25, 2006. My mom's and dad's first great grandchild was born today at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii at 6:10 a.m. Christopher Xavier Harris is the son of Lindsey and Christoper Harris. Lindsey is the daughter of my brother-in-law, Clay, who is a Major with the U.S. Marines. The proud grandpa won't be able to hold the baby for a few more months because he is in Iraq until May. Baby Chris was about 2 weeks early which is great because his dad is in the U.S. Navy and is going to be deployed for 6 months sometime around the second week in December. Baby Chris weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was 18 inches long. He is the first baby boy in our family in 3 generations. My mom and dad can't wait to take him to his first UNLV basketball and football game.

Today I had a brand new experience. My friend, Gwen, a Scottie from the Las Vegas Dogs group, told me that she was going to a Blessing of the Animals at the St. Martin Campus of the St. Rose Dominican Hospital. It took place in the healing garden of this beautiful new medical center. It was such a wonderful experience to be with so many people who consider their pets not as objects to be owned but as special family members. I met Gwen for the first time in person and her doggy brother and sister, both cairn terriers. Gwen's brother even got a personal blessing because he is not doing very well. You can see the new photo on my page with Gwen, her mom, and her brother and sister. All the other doggies made me feel very welcome. Gwen explained that the blessing is for all animals because G-d loves all animals, no matter what religion they are.

I want to thank all my Dogster pals for talking my mom and dad into buying me some new Halloween costumes. Because my size hasn't changed since I was adopted, I have had to wear my same skeleton costume for the past 3 years. Well, my Dogster pals have some really creative parents who come up with great costumes and outfits for their doggies and kitties. That convinced my mom to buy me some new costumes. She turned to ebay for ideas and purchases. I heard my mom tell my dad that some new duds would give me a little more confidence at the upcoming Halloween doggie socials. There's a doggie Halloween party here in Las Vegas, and some of my Dogster groups are having virtual Halloween parties and strolls. Thank you Dogster pals for helping convince my parents that it wouldn't hurt them to buy me a new outfit now and then.

She remembered that Maile couldn't fit into the coat and thought it would fit me just right. Well, Maile's mom was right. Yesterday, I was 6 years old. Except for having to take some medicine, it was a perfect day. I'm real easy to please so hanging out with my mom and dad is what I like to do best. My dad took a birthday photo of me. It was after the party so I look a little pooped (sorry for the pun). Then I helped my mom rearrange the photos on my main page. Mom thinks that the photo of me with my bowtie is more flattering than my previous photo which moved further down the page. This morning, I had a special treat. John Fredricks, the weatherman on NBC Channel 3 here in Las Vegas, announced my birthday and showed my photo at 6:46 a.m. on his "party animal" segment. My birthday announcement should remain on the Channel 3 website for the next few days.

June 20,

Hi Everyone! My mom has been out of school for 10 days so I vocalized my thoughts and told her to add a new diary entry for me. First, I'm so excited. Tonight, Calvin from Houston, Texas invited me to join his dogster group, the K-9 Cafe. Then my mom finally added my dad's photo to my new Dogster Plus page in honor of Father's Day. Make sure you look and see how handsome he is. Finally, we're all going to Oceanside, CA this weekend to visit my 2 human sisters and my 3 human nieces. I can't wait to go for a romp on the beach. It was way over 100 degrees today in Las Vegas and much too hot to go outside for an extended walk. We're finally going to the park now, and it's after 10 p.m.

And now for the sad news. On Friday, my mom saw a 5-year-old westie up for adoption at the Nevada SPCA. That's where my mom found me. He was everything my mom was looking for. But most important, he was housebroken. By the time my mom got there on Saturday, he was already adopted by someone else. My mom was sad, but, to tell you the truth, it didn't break my heart. I am thoroughly spoiled and like being an "only dog" even though I do have to share the house with Koko, my parrot sister.

Love,

One of the downsides of Las Vegas living is our rough (excuse the pun) summer. We'll, it started today. It hit 93 degrees on the thermometer in my backyard. It's a good thing I got my summer haircut 2 weeks ago. At first, I was a little embarrassed running around without all my fur. My mom said that you could see my fat rolls. Now, I understand what the haircut was all about. I can't imagine what the temperature will be when summer officially begins on June 21.

Hi Everyone,

You can see me with my new St. Patrick's Day bandana if you search under the St. Patrick's tagline. My mom promised me she would upload my photo today, but I had to wait until UCONN beat Kentucky earlier today. You see March Madness is very serious business in my family. My mom and dad graduated from the University of Connecticut, one human sister graduated from the University of Maryland, and the other human sister graduated from UNLV. On top of that, we reside in Las Vegas, and you know what that means. I'm hoping UCONN makes it to the final four (whatever that is) because my mom and dad will throw a big party. I don't really understand all this March Madness stuff except that if UCONN makes it to the final four, people come to the house and pay a lot of attention to me. They also make a lot of noise and keep singing the "Connecticut UCONN Huskies" (I can handle the "husky" nonsense) song.

Las weekend, I was in Oceanside, CA again. I got to babysit my nieces' fat white rabbit named Sharla while the whole family went out.

Your puppal,

Seasons Greetings and Happy New Year to everyone (canines and humans alike). I have a lot to be thankful for today. My human dad came home from the hospital this afternoon. My human mom has been very sad since Tuesday when my dad got sick at work. Since he is a hospital pharmacist at UMC (University Medical Center) here in Las Vegas, his fellow pharmacists rushed him to the emergency room. That saved his life. My oldest human sister drove here from California today to cheer up my mom and dad. Not counting my mom and dad, I like her the best of the other humans in the family. She is like the dog whisperer. My mom is on vacation until January 3 and promised me that she would spend some time updating my diary.

I knew this day would finally come. My mom went back to school today. I've had her to myself since June 10, and I've loved every minute of it. At least I had some company at home today: my dad, my 3 nieces, and one sister. They're good company, but they're too lazy to take me on a nice long walk like my mom does. The three little nieces have a good excuse: One is only 3 months old, and the other two are too young to walk to the park by themselves. The adults have no excuse. Today, I was honored with a birthday announcement by weatherman John Fredricks on Channel 3. He even put my photo on his website. You can view it by going to www.kvbc.com. Hit Pets on the left side of the screen. Cursor down to Party Animals, and for the next few days my picture will be posted. John is my kind of Human. He has a great dog named Jordan who is on television with him everyday. I'd like a job like that.

Borrrrrrrrrring!

My mom was busy shopping for a wedding gown today with my Human sister and nieces. There's going to be a wedding at my house next week. I'm not quite sure what a wedding is, but it takes up a lot of my mom's time. The wedding dress is for my nieces' older sister. I know I'm invited to the wedding because my mom keeps showing everyone my tuxedo which is hanging in the front closet. I only hope that it's not 100 degrees next Saturday. That tuxedo looks awfully heavy.

After perusing some dogster webpages, I noticed that my page is terribly lacking in photos. Never fear!!! My oldest Human sister (single and a knockout if I say so myself) will be visiting here in Las Vegas next week and promised to take more photos of me with her digital camera. My mom had some professional photos done last Christmas, and, although I'm crazy about her, I have to admit that she's technologically inept because she can't figure out how to work the scanner and put the photos on my webpage.

I wish my mom would stop buying me "dog" toys. I don't get excited about little rubber duckies or fake furry animals that squeak. I know she means well when she tries to get me to chase a tennis ball or catch a frisbee, but her money would be better spent buying a 'treat" for that noisy parrot that lives in my house.

I have already added to my mom's life by giving her the motivation to learn how to insert my photo for Dogster. I'm surprised at how easily I'm adapting to the three visiting granddaughters (my nieces) considering the warning that went with me when I was adopted. I also let all the children in the park pet me. What a guy!
