My friend Cleo tagged me. I have to say 7 things I am grateful for. Then send this to 7 friends.

I'm thankful:
1) That I've never spent a night without a home and family.
2) That I'll always have as much food as I need (and then some)! :)
3) That my parents have jobs and a decent nest egg...just in case.
4) That my parents are people who know that a dog is a lifetime commitment and that they'll keep that promise to me.
5) That my parents care enough to get me the best possible health care they can afford (and then some)! :)
6) That even though there are 4 other dogs here, my parents tell me I'm special because I was their first.
7) That no matter what, I will always be loved and cared for.

Since there are so many of us in my house, we're all going to go in together as a family and only nominate 7 pups instead of 7 pups each.

Here are my choices, in no particular order:

1) The Brat Pack
2) H & E A Pair-A-Dox
3) Jett
4) Duke
5) Levi, PAWS
6) The Kurowskis
7) Mickey

Here's ...

I’ve been tagged by sweetheart,Jezzy ...the best gal a guy could have!! XOXO Jezzy!!

Here's the rules of the game!

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

1. I tell Mom and Dad when it's bedtime by sitting at their feet and staring at them, then I make them walk me to my crate and close the door. I growl at them when they try to tuck me in, though.

2. I used to walk around whining whenever they would give me a bone. Mom thinks I was trying to find a place to bury it but just couldn't figure out how to dig under the carpet!

2. 3. Every time Daisy or Peaches poops, I have to go pee on it.

4. I know when Mom spells a word, that I'm not supposed to know what it is but I always figure it out. So far, I can recognize B-O-N-E, R-I-D-E and W-A-L-K. I ignore V-E-T.

5. I cry like a baby when the groomer trims my nails.

6. I'm the only dog I know who's been neutered twice.

7. I know that it's Sunday morning 'cause Mom and Dad both get up at the same time and I start dancing around because that means that Dad and I are gonna go get breakfast. The chicks at Hardee's drive-thru dig me!

Now I'm tagging:
1. Jezzy's brother Toby http://www.dogster.com/dogs/397134
2. Pepe http://www.dogster.com/dogs/67784
3. Twinkie http://www.dogster.com/dogs/461522

I swear, Mom and Dad have fallen off the deep end. I don't know what a dog has to do to get a little respect around here. If you look at my pictures, you'll see there's a dog there that looks NOTHING like me...because it's not me. Instead of MY picture being on MY page, there's one of a dog that Mom and Dad are looking to...*gulp*...adopt.

ADOPT?!? Are they out of their minds? Don't they love me at all? Didn't they learn with Daisy that I'd really rather be an only child? I mean, ok, I've gotten used to Daisy and kinda like having her around when she minds and stays out of my stuff, but she does still get on my nerves sometimes. And it doesn't mean that I want another one in the house. You'd think Dad would be on my side 'cause once this new one is here, it'll be 3 girls to the 2 of us guys. He's totally unaware that the balance of power is shifting to their side. How can he let this happen?

OK, so I know she was abused and abandoned and they feel sorry for her but why does that make her our problem? 'Cause Mom has a soft heart and a Petfinder addiction, that's why... The dog's name is Peaches and Mom read how someone had wired her jaw shut and left her in a water-filled ditch to die. She's been sick with kennel cough since then but is better now. She's been spayed this week and Mom says she's almost ready to come home with us. Can somebody help me figure out how to work these parental controls so I can block her from that site? Maybe I need to rig it up to an alarm so when she goes to Petfinder, it'll say "Step away from the computer and put down the Kleenex...you can't save them all." Hmmm...

Mom and Dad say we're going on a road trip next weekend (YAY!) but it's to meet this other dog. *pout* If they like her and she likes them and the three of us "kids" look like we can get along, then she's coming home with us for a few weeks to see how it works out. Daisy doesn't think they'll go through with it but that's what I thought when they came home with her and she's still here, darn it. Mom's really afraid that it'll be as bad as when we got Daisy but is hoping for better...maybe I'll cut her some slack this time. After all, I know I'm her favorite...

Today we lost our last little gerbil brother, D'Artagnan. Momma and Daddy are very upset, especially Daddy. Although D'Artagnan was over 3 years old, it was unexpected...he was active and seemed healthy until the end. He looked very peaceful, like he was asleep. Because he had no symptoms of illness, they think it might have been a heart attack.

We lost his littermate, Shadow in April of this year. He'd either gotten pneumonia or went into renal failure. D'Artagnan had skin cancer surgery about that time so Shadow going first was unexpected. Mom's glad that D'Artagnan didn't suffer like Shadow did. Now they're back together, sleeping next to each other like they always did. They're buried side by side in the flower bed in front of our house under some large decorative rocks. D'Artagnan's name will be added on the big rock next to Shadow's name tomorrow.

Momma and Daddy have decided not to get any other small animals. The short life span is just too hard to take.

Rest in peace, boys. Have fun at the bridge until we get there. We love and miss you.

Ok...this is just nuts!!

If you've seen my pictures or read my previous diary entry, you can see that I've got this sweet set up where I take my bed and Daisy's bed, stack them on top of each other and slip in between them to sleep. Not only do I get a cozy place to nap, Daisy is without a bed and I don't have to burrow around in blankets. And Mom and Dad never see me actually doing it (which drives Mom crazy). Everybody wins right? Well, not Daisy, but who cares?

Well all that's over now...just check out the Princess' page and see what I mean. Daisy, the bed thief

Here I'd spent the entire two minutes that Mom was out of the room this morning, feverishly working to get MY beds stacked up perfectly. Yes, I did all this on my own... Well, I was just about to slip in between them when little Miss Long Legs bounds right up on TOP of the whole thing!!!

Of all the nerve!! I whined at her and went running for Mom to help me get her out of there and what does Mom do...she LAUGHS! Not only that, but she said "Good job, Daisy...I guess that'll show him." Can you believe it? Talk about adding insult to injury.... If Dad hadn't left for work already, I'm sure at least he would have been on my side. Then to top it all off, Mom takes pictures of the whole thing and has them posted on Daisy's page making the betrayal complete.

Women...hmmphf!

Mom posted some new pics of me. Two of them are of me laying in between 2 beds that are stacked on top of each other. It's driving Mom and Dad crazy that they can't figure out how or why I'm stacking them and they can't catch me doing it. Mwuuhahaha.

At first, Mom thought Dad stacked the beds up while he was vacuuming the floor for some reason, but he thought she'd done it. Turns out, I'm doing it but only when they're not looking. The other day, they almost saw me...I had one about halfway up, but stopped and looked all innocent when they came into the room.

It cracks Mom up that I do this and that I get them almost perfectly lined up and somehow crawl in between them and sleep. I used to roll up in my blankets but having two beds is soo much nicer. The fact that Daisy has to sleep on the floor when I do this is just a bonus.

Off for a nap in my "double" bed....

Logan,
You are my true, unconditional love. You are the anchor of my priorities, reminding me that the truly important things in life are love, family and home. You're the reason I get up in the morning and although I want nothing more than to spend my entire day with you, you're the reason I go to work...to provide a healthy, protected life for you.

You made an impression on our hearts the moment we met you...and that's only gotten deeper through the years. I now have a tribute to you on my skin so that I will always remember you and your love...as if I could ever forget. You listen to our problems, worry when we do and try to make it all better in your own doggy way. You will never understand what that means to us, your Daddy and me.

All I ever want is for you to be happy, safe and loved...as you've already done for me. I never want to spend one minute of my life without you and I dread the day that minute will come. When you go, part of me will go with you and will never be the same again. You are the love of my life, the dog of my heart. I love you first, love you most and love you best.

It has been just crazy around here!

First, my mom's baby sister decided that everyone else was right and that if you have no skills, no education, no solid work history and no car then you really can't make any money in an area that's 2000 miles away from your family and in a bad economy. Sooo, she all of a sudden decided to move back here and go to nursing school. How long that will last, who knows?

Then, my mom's other sister burned her house down. No one was hurt and they saved most of their stuff but the house is a total loss, so now we have 4 extra people and 2 extra dogs living here. Luckily, Dad is allergic to the 2 dogs and they're big dogs so they don't get to stay in the house so at least I don't have to share my food or beds like the people do. And I'm getting lots of extra attention, so I'm kinda liking this whole thing. Especially when the children give me table food behind Mom's back! YUM!

In the middle of all this, I turned 2! Yep, I'm a fully adult dog now and have some gray whiskers to prove it. It makes Mom kinda sad thinking about me getting older...she still wants me to be a baby. Mom got me some cool toys and treats for my birthday but Daisy steals my stuff so Mom had to get her some stuff too which doesn't seem fair since it was MY birthday. But Daisy's birthday is coming up soon so I'll get stuff on her day.

Mom and Dad are sad, too because one of our gerbil brothers got sick and died a couple of weeks ago. With everything else going on, they haven't had time to post anything about it. Shadow either got pneumonia or went into renal failure...it's kinda hard to tell with little guys like that. The doctor thought he might make it but he was just too little and had lost too much weight. He had just turned 3 years old. Now D'Artagnan is all alone but he seems to be taking it well. D'Artangan had a tumor a few weeks back but had surgery and seems to have come through it ok. Shadow died just a little bit after D'Artagnan recovered from his surgery. Mom says these things are to be expected with gerbils get to be 3 years old...that's like 15 in dog years, ya know.

Now that I've typed all this out, I'm very tired...I'm going to see if I can find a quiet place to nap...

Daisy is here to stay. Mom and Dad took her to puppy kindergarten class and they say she's behaving better....I still have my doubts. I didn't like her getting to go somewhere without me so they took me with them to the last class....I didn't like it, either but I did get to scarf some treats when no one was looking. Mom tried to make me do all the same stuff those puppies were doing. Hmmpf! Sit, stay, walking on a leash...who does she think she's dealing with?

There was this one dog that the trainers have had for four years...they did a demo with her and all the stuff she gets bribed to do and everyone was SOO impressed. Puh-lease. Now Mom and Dad think I should be doing all that stuff, too. They say that she's "well-behaved" as if I'm not! Just because I do what I want, when I want, regardless of what they want...I'm just independent, that's all. Anyway, they're now thinking about sending me to something called Obedience class and to Doggie Daycare. I don't like the sound of either one, so I'm just not gonna go. That'll show 'em.

Anyway, Daisy is starting to learn when and where to poop although she still does it in the house most of the time. And she still takes my toys and tries to eat my food and hops in my bed as if it's hers and tries to sit in my pen instead of finding her own place...but I'm adjusting and I tell her no when I get good and tired of it. Or I go tell Momma on her and she makes her stop. I try to play with Daddy but then Daisy jumps in and I quit...it's just not the same if she's playing, too. So Momma tries to keep her out of it when she can so Daddy and I can play.

Momma says next week we're going on a trip. We'll get to stay in a hotel and everything. I've been on one like it before, but Daisy hasn't. This should be fun if she still gets carsick. Mom's hoping she'll sleep most of the way there but will ask the vet about some Dramamine...just in case.

Well, gotta start packing...

The squirrels were too cheap to negotiate any deals, so Daisy is still here. Mom and Dad can't seem to decide if she should stay or go. For now, they're just trying to work with her behavior (which is bad) and getting her potty-trained, which isn't going so well - she goes in her crate all the time.

I'm starting to get used to her, I guess. I get mad when she gets up on my furniture or in my bed or takes my toys or wants to sit with Mom. But I have started sitting quietly with her sometimes and licking and mouthing her muzzle and I run around and play with her just a little bit. Mostly, she still just annoys me though.

Mom is taking her to puppy kindergarten starting next week. I was too smart for that. Mom says that we may both go to obedience school, though...I don't wanna. I didn't like the last one and I don't think I'll like this one so I'm just trying to be extra good when I can so they don't take me.

So far, I have survived pee, poop, bed invasion, food invasion, water bowl cooties, toy theft and running, leaping attacks. My nerves are shot. The only good news is that they figured out that Daisy had a tapeworm and got her some medicine for it. I better not get one, too or that is it - I'll trade her to the squirrels for a bowl of acorns...yeah, that's it....acorns.

Oh and Daisy keeps getting in trouble with Momma - she thinks the bathroom rugs are play toys and drags them around. I watched her drag them out in the hall then went and told Momma on her. Momma got mad and yelled at Daisy, but she went and did it again and got put in her crate. Maybe I'll have fun with this until the squirrels and I can work out a deal. Stay tuned....

Last night Mom and I went to Fort Smith and she brought back this spastic little furball and told me she was my sister. I am sooo not having this!

First, she stunk up the car by pooping in her crate so we had to pull over and clean that up, then she puked in it when we were almost home. It was a long drive, but I'VE never thrown up in the car before.

This little thing doesn't know anything. She keeps peeing and pooping in her bed and I think she has worms - gross! If she's not in her crate, she just pees wherever she wants to. Mom takes us outside and I'm a good boy and do my business like I should, but she just runs and jumps everywhere and gets all muddy.

When we finally get back in the house and Mom cleans her up, she runs around all over the place like some kind of nut case, plays with my toys, drinks my water like she's dying of thirst, tries to eat my food (but Mom won't let her) and tries to play with me and my people. She keeps wanting to play with me but I don't like her and won't do it. She keeps jumping on me until I growl and snap at her, then she backs off and acts submissive but still wants to play.

Mom is upset because I won't eat unless it's her food and I won't play with anyone or anything. Mom's all sad and has been crying a lot today - I think it's the new dog's fault. I did get to sleep in bed with Mom this morning and was my old self until we got up and I remembered that SHE was still here. I want them to get rid of her and I think Mom is considering it. Maybe everything will be back to normal soon and I can be an only child again. We'll see how it goes...

Today Momma and I got in her car and went to Fort Smith. It's about an hour away. Momma made me sit in my car seat and I didn't like it much. She had my harness connected to it so I couldn't get in her lap. She said it was for my own good. Pfft! Whatever... So I bugged her by whining and crying the whole way there - boy was that fun!

We were supposed to meet my potential baby sister there but Momma couldn't get in touch with her breeder so we just went shopping instead. Which is fine with me 'cause I don't think I want a baby sister peeing everywhere and running off with all my toys. We went to a store that Toby and Tiffany Marie's mom works at (they're my pup pals) called Harlequin - it's for dogs and cats and is sooo cool.

At first I pooped on the carpet and Momma got mad but the girls there were so sweet about it and let me run around the store as much as I wanted...I checked out everything! They have these awesome treats that I convinced Momma to buy me. Yum! They also have lots of clothes...Momma says the clothes were adorable, but I since I prefer to be a nudist, I disagree. They let Momma try clothes on me (I'll have to talk to them about THAT policy) and helped her out a lot. We ended up buy a tank top that fits me really well. Momma thinks I can't wriggle out of it like some of my other clothes but I think I'm going to try anyway. :) I'm supposed to remind Momma that they have Arkansas Razorback shirts there for dogs so she can tell Buddy's mom, but I know I'll forget all about that, so I'll put it in here for her to read later.

The girls there were really sweet and oohed and ahhed and petted me the whole time I was there...and I liked that, let me tell ya. I'm a true ladies man (wink, wink, nudge nudge)...after all I did have to be neutered twice. Anyway, I think we're going back next Saturday because they're having something called a photographer coming in to do professional sittings...whatever those are. I sit all the time and no one calls me a photographer.

After we shopped we went to the house my daddy lived in when he was little and were my Grandad lives now. I'd never been there before but it was just like home to me and I ran around and checked everything out, even though Grandad wasn't home. I like him 'cause he gives me treats I'm not supposed to have and Momma gets mad. It's so funny.

After that we went to Sonic so Momma could get something to eat. She tried to get me to eat some doggie biscuits but I smelled french fries and did NOT anything else. She got me a cup of ice water and let me eat one french fry, after it cooled down a little. Why does that take sooo long? We came home after that and I slept most of the way back when Momma wasn't singing with the radio...I hate when she does that.

I'm pretty tired after my big day, even without meeting my potential sister so I'm going to take a nap now. Thanks for reading my diary.

Daddy went motorcycle riding with his buddies so I've got Momma at home all to myself. Momma was learning to ride her own motorcycle but all the crazy people on the road made her too nervous. I've only been on Daddy's bike a couple of times, but it was kinda fun. I'll have her post one of the pictures here, if she can edit it to right size.

Mostly when Daddy goes to Bike Night, Momma and I just hang out here at the house - she's usually on the computer or sewing me pillows or clothes (ugh!). When she does that, she gives me a new bone to chew on so I don't try to attack her feet or get her attention. When I get tired of chewing, though, I usually curl up on one of my beds and wait for her to get finished working.

Sometimes we watch TV but I don't like it when she watches Animal Planet and all those other dogs show up. I used to try and get behind the entertainment center so I could run them off, but I've figured out now that they're just in the TV box and not really here. I still bark at them, though.

Most of the time when Daddy goes out, I sit at the window and wait for him to come home. Luckily he doesn't stay gone for too long. At least, Momma says it's not too long but it seems like days and days to me. I know when I hear the garage door go up and a vroom, vroom that Daddy's home and I look out the window to try and see him then run to the kitchen door and wait.

My favorite part of the day is when my people come home. When Daddy comes in, I get so excited that I get all twisted up in a circle...Daddy calls it the "comma greeting". I get kinda whiny when Daddy kisses Momma first and I jump up and down until he pays attention to me. Momma tells him not to do that because it encourages me, but he does it anyway.

Well, guess it's about time for me to start window-watching. Catch ya later!

Thanks for checking out my diary. I'm sorry this entry is brief but there will be much more added as soon as my Mommy gets more time. I'd do it myself but my nails are too long right now to type and I don't really know how to spell anything except the word "ride". I know when Mom and Dad say R-I-D-E then that means I get to go with them.
