This was a big day. Auntie Pam posted new photofurs that you can lookat and see how happy I am now. The last three look the same but they were a "burst" series and all slightly different.

The photos were taken at the end of the visit with Angelo, back in Auntie Pam's car and on Gem's lap.

Angelo put me through some things that would have been tension and stress provoking a month ago to me. Not now, though! I stayed relaxed and happy. He gave me a little massage and commented how my muscles felt like steel in tension a month ago. Now I was really able to relax for the massage. It felt GOOD.

In fact, I was so well behaved and relaxed...Auntie Pam said I act better than Zuri. Neener Neener!

There's still about 15% of me that is unreliable and able to change gears in fear to bite someone...but I think Gen will have me 100% rehabilitated well before the original 6-month goal.

I love everyone who has helped me learn to be a happy, relaxed, stable girl.

I am so happy!

Mom Gen, Aunt Pam and Uncle Al came and got me today. I could tell Angelo is going to miss my lovely white fur and emerging funny personality.

I looked very cute in my new pink collar and leash and was a complete excited wiggle worm.

Who could blame me? I went home!

My dog rehab trainer, Angelo, told Mom Pam that I'm ready to graduate from his facility and go to my foster mom and dad, Gen and Jim. I haven't met Jim yet but will today and I'm so excited.

Angelo has been kind and patient with me. I've learned to trust and play. I've learned having structure and limits is a good thing. He hasn't had to correct my behavior one time the past three days.

My rehab will continue for 6-8 months in Gen and Jim's loving care. Gen is already smitten with me and I trust her enough to fall asleep in her lap. I just hope I can be a good girl with Jim today so he wants me as much as Gen does. Mom Pam knows them well and told me that Jim is a kindly, soft-spoken old man who is an experienced dog owner like his wife, Gen.

Bichon Rescue Brigade sent a Going Home package to Mom Pam. There is a blankie and pillow, a food dish, a little toy that I'll have to wait to receive until I'm no longer toy aggressive, and a bootiful pink collar and leash with a BRB tag already attached so I can never get lost again.

Angelo told Gen that if she is consistent and structured with me for 6-8 more months that I'm going to be "one terrific little dog."

Me! I just know I can do it with their help - and Mom Pam, too. She'll be only two blocks away.

Light at the end of the tunnel licks!

The loving peeps at Bichon Rescue Brigade are giving me a second chance. I was rescued out of the Maricopa Humane Society. My paperwork sez there were teenagers who did not treat me well.

I'm just a little girl. If I'd had a proper start at life, I'd already be somebody's beloved little girl. Now I am going through rehabilitation to overcome my issues.

I've come a very long way in one week. I trust my trainer and jump into his lap now to give him kissies. I love when my foster mom comes to the rehab sessions to work with me, too.

I'm learning to have fun with other dogs on walks. Until now I haven't paid any attention to another dog. Now, I'm walked with five Shepherds who are trained rehabilitation dogs. They run on the trail all around me, bump me, and tease me and I don't take any of their activity personally. I just get back up if they've gently knocked me over and keep going.

My foster mom brings her 1-year-old Bichon pup to the rehab sessions. She's also been trained as a rehabilitation dog. When I first started here, Zuri wouldn't go near me because I had "bad energy" and she sensed I could not be stressed by interaction. We are now beginning to become friends. I'm learning to say hi the right way - sniffing butts. Hmmm...I didn't know this was proper etiquette.

Now that I'm learning so much trust, instead of being afraid I will not be treated kindly, my rehabilitation will include working on food and toy aggression.

Once I've conquered those two things, and prove I will be a good pack member with Neksi, Cuki and Zuri, my dream will come true and I will go to be with them as a foster fur.

I'll let you know when I'm ready for adoption. I dream at night of a cozy, safe furever home, being loved and cared for as the sweet girl I know I can be.

I'm so thankful Bichon Rescue Brigade in Orange, CA is giving me this second chance at happiness.
