Pups I have been finding fun things to roll in. Mom does not think these things are fun to roll in and she says next time I roll in something she might find a power washer to get the smell off of me.

This morning mom and I went down to the river and I rolled on top of a beaver. Mom drags me away and she is making funny noises while pulling me away. Don't know why, I thought it smelled awesome!

Mom washed me off and left me in the house while she went to plant some strawberries. After these were planted, she took me outside and I again rolled in something foul in the neighbor's field. Guess what? Another scrubbing was in store.

We are having nice weather and there is plenty of yard work going on around here.

Wishing all my Canadian friends a happy and safe Victoria Day long weekend!

I hope all mother's and those daddy's who also do the mothering had a pawsome Mother's Day. Thank you all very much for the Mother's Day rosettes you sent to Angel Abby and myself!

We had a really windy day here, but the peeps still wanted to try and do some yard work after the long winter we had. While they were working in the yard, I took off to the neighbor's. Mom eventually tracked me down and brought me back home. They started working again in the yard and away I went to the neighbor's again. Once again mom comes after me. I am not really sure how many times I headed off to the neighbor's today, but let us just say it was several times.

On the last occasion, I head off to the neighbor's and once again mom comes after me. She sees me in the distance and is making her way towards me. I ducked behind some bigger trees in the shelter belt and mom lost sight of me. She gets to the shelter belt and sees me in the distance on the road and heading into the ditch to go to the other neighbor. She yells at me and I just ignore her and head off into the field.

The field is still partially flooded and mom was yelling and calling for me, and all she could see was me heading deeper into the trees and water. She heads back to the road, slipping on the mud and getting angrier at me and then she sees me ducking out of the trees and then going back into the water. She is running down our 1/2 mile road calling me and I am not coming and she can no longer see me. Did I mention she was calling me for several minutes and I was ignoring her? She starts down our long drive and is thinking she needs to tell dad that she will get the truck and drive over to the neighbor's to see if she can catch me.

She has almost made her way to dad to tell him I am lost when I blast past her. She yells to dad, "catch the ducking little hazard". Actually that isn't what she said, but it rhymes with what she said if you get my drift. I get my leash snapped on me and am put in the mud room of the house and then they go back outside to work.

I now know why the mudroom is called a mudroom and mom had to clean it and me up after she calmed down. She still says I smell like a swamp and I think she has a potty mouth!

Once again, I want to wish every mommy a very Happy Mother's Day.

Well pups I went to the vet yesterday for my "chip". Can you believe there were no edible chips at the vet's place?

First I got weighed. I am 72 pounds of muscle according to the vet, and this is a good weight for me! Then she gave me a treat! Then I got my eyes and ears checked and my heart and lungs listened to. At one point when she was listening to my lungs she reached around and held my mouth closed because I was panting so hard. Tee hee! Oh, and apparently I have the most beautiful coat ever! Yeah me.

Then I got taken to a back room because this is apparently where the chips were. I was so excited to finally get some chips. But wait, there was nothing to eat in this room. I had all of my vaccines brought up to day and then it was time for the chip. Yeah, finally something to eat! But wait, this chip was in a syringe and it went between my shoulder blades. What the?

Oh well, I got several more treats after that and several belly rubs and then mom and I went home.

P.S. I have still not been given a chip of any kind to eat!

P.P.S. Mom thinks if my chip were to be scanned it would say "priceless"!

Mom bought me a wading pool yesterday and now we just have to figure out where it will go outside and then fill it with water! I am so gonna like that!

The snow is going and now I am finding all kinds of treasures outside in the snow.

Yesterday, for instance, I found a dead mouse. Mom did not realize this at first, however. We were outside and she did not see me pick something up. We went inside and she was wiping my paws and telling me what a good boy I am. I went downstairs and laid by the coffee table and that is when mom saw me drop something. I quickly picked it up when I saw her coming down stairs, but as I did not like the way she said drop it, I dropped it and moved away. She got a rag, picked up my treasure and threw it away.

Today mom was out doing a few things in the garden. It is still too wet to do much, but she was happy to see the horseradish coming back and she was cleaning around that area. She hears me coming back up over the riverbank and then she sees me dragging something. I am such a loving pup that I dragged half a deer carcass up the riverbank for mom! I took one look at her and I knew she would dispose of it, so I tried to run. Ever try running when there is snow and you are dragging part of a deer, pups, it is not easy! After she caught up to me she also disposed of this treasure.

Why are some people so hard to please!

Spring is definitely on the way now!

We have seen many Blue Jays, Eagles, Hawks, Seagulls and yesterday we saw our first Pelican flying over the river. There is also more open water on the river so hopefully this means the ferries will soon be running again.

I also found the first grasshopper of the day. He was hopping in the grass and then he got caught up in some snow. After watching him in the snow for a bit, I ate him -- tasted like bacon!

Mom was quite happy to see the rhubarb and the irises pushing through the snow, but the garden is so wet that she actually got her boots stuck in there. I did not mind the mud at all!

Even though we have the river right through our backyard, we are high enough here that we will be ok. The river would have to rise 85 feet to get to our place. There is one part of our province that has issued ice jam warnings and flood warnings as the river is now thawing so quickly. The next 5-7 days will be the most crucial.

Wishing all my pals a wonderful day.

Mom just heard on the radio that this is the second coldest March/April in 120 years in our part of the world. You know some records just don't need to be broken!

The snow is slowly going down and I am having fun finding lots of mice under the snow! Mom says I am nearly as good a mouser as Angel Abby and I think that is high praise. I am also finding lots of coyote, porcupine and rabbit droppings and I think they are tasty. However, I have been told that I should cut down on those tasty treats!

The peeps also told me that they are gonna take down my crate. It currently sits downstairs empty and unused. I have had free run of the house for several months now whether the peeps are home or not. I have chewed the heel off of one of mom's slippers, but this is it for the damage I have done. When mom needs to be away, she fills a kong with some kibble and a treat or two, puts peanut butter on the ends and then freezes it. I have fun getting past the frozen peanut butter and then I chase the empty kong all over. When I am tired of doing that, I sleep in front of the door awaiting her return.

Well, I think I will supervise mom doing some house cleaning now. Talk to you all later!

Wow! It appears I was a Dogster Diary Pick yesterday! Thank you so much Dogster for this honor and thank you to all my pals for the rosettes and pawmails I received. That really made my day.

I just found out I was a DDP this morning as my typist was doing something she calls "running errands" and didn't check yesterday.

Now pups, I don't know what this "running errands" means, but she was gone for quite a while and did she bring me a new toy home, NOOOOO. Did she bring me any treats, NOOO. Ok, she did bring home some Milkbones and she did give me one, so I guess, technically, I did get a treat. Whatever!

The snow is slowly starting to melt. Luckily, we haven't had any more snow since last Wednesday/Thursday. With the snow melting, it means mom and I are outside more playing with my various Chuck It toys. I love them and being outside.

My porcupine friend is still showing up in the evenings, but he doesn't stay long. Mom, however, still refuses to let me outside in the evening without being on leash.

Thanks again everyone for helping me celebrate my DDP yesterday! Big Woofs!

Well just when you think spring should be here, and it is April 11 after all, you get another snow day.

We had wind and snow, and then blowing snow and then more wind and snow. Daddy tried to get to work this morning and only made it to the main road when he encountered somebody stuck. So he helped get them unstuck. And then somebody coming behind that person got stuck, so he helped unstuck (is unstuck even a work?) that person as well. He decided to turn around and come home. The highway was also apparently ice covered with large drifts.

The peeps didn't do much today at all. I went on a short walk with mom this morning and chased a weasel into the garbage can. This afternoon daddy and I went on a nice long walk. The snow and wind are dying down so tomorrow I will help mom dig out her truck. First I might have to help dad dig out the car, though. I don't think mom should have cut my toenails with all this digging I will need to do.

Hope spring is finally coming to some of my pals!

Well pups, it is still white up here in the Great White North! Mommy took some pictures of our yard today because daddy's clients in the U.S.A. wanted to see how much snow we have left. Um, I guess you could say a lot. It is also supposed to snow for the next 4 or so days. All this snow is getting people more and more worried about flooding this spring. Hopefully the flooding won't be as bad as it was in 2011.

Mom's hands are feeling better but now her one shoulder is sore. It is probably from shoveling so much and trying to throw the snow over the tops of the banks.

Personally, I love the snow! I have dug many holes, and the other day I dug out a nest of baby mice! There are also other treasures that the snow reveals, but mom says I shouldn't eat those.

That other porcupine is still hanging around. When mom took me outside last night around 8:30 p.m. there he was sitting primly in the garden. At least he does keep moving on and hasn't taken up residence like the last one did.

Would anyone like a truckload of snow? Free!!! Just come and get it!!

Dearest Buddy

To the best of our knowledge, yesterday was your first birthday. We don't know the exact date, but the beginning of April seemed appropriate.

You did have a rough start to your young life. Being chained outdoors and inadequate food in your life before rescue and that serious infection you developed that at one point had the vet thinking you were in either liver or kidney failure.

You are now healthy, appear to be happy with us, have lots of energy and are making up for those months when you didn't feel well.

We love you Buddy and look forward to sharing many more birthdays with you.

Hard to believe it is supposedly spring as we still have so much snow. Mom posted some pictures on here late last week and she was hoping the yard would look different this week. It doesn't! She has done so much shoveling that she says she can't do any more. I was trying to help by digging holes and burying things in them, but apparently this is not helpful. Mom has given up shoveling because she says Arthur Ritis is visiting and her hands are so sore.

I think since she isn't shoveling anymore, she should be making me treats. I only had a few homemade treats left and mom had the audacity to take them to the neighbor for his dog. Ok, Ok, he did come to mom's rescue when she was stuck on the road due to the bad storm we had here last week. He dug mom out of her predicament, got her to the main road and then went back and cleaned the rest of the road and the yard. Mom took over a thank you package and she had to include everyone in the family, so there went my treats.

The weather should now be better as daddy is back from his latest trip and the weather always improves once dad is back.

Oh, guess what? For the last two evenings mom and I have seen a porcupine walking through the yard. She says until further notice, I need to be on a leash when I go out at night. He seems to disappear during the day, but does pay us a visit once it is dark outside.

It is three weeks today that I had my last dose of antibiotics. Mom is still watching me like a hawk and scrutinizing my bodily functions (how embarrassing is that!), but she thinks (touch wood, she is knocking on her head (BOL) right now!) that the nasty E.coli infection is gone once and for all. All I can say is "Good riddance"! Now I can start being a puppy again!

I have been helping mom remove snow from the deck and behind the house as spring is around the corner and we don't want water in the house. Apparently last year at this time, the snow was nearly all gone from the peeps yard, we think this year the snow might be gone by May. Well, hopefully, sooner, but we have so much. The way I am helping is I dig a big hole in the snow and hide in it and then bark at mom when she gets close to where I am hiding! Fun for me, not so much for the momma!

I was doing my business the other day when I heard a noise, so I quickly finished up and went to investigate. There was this thing poking out from under the wood pile that made mom go "awwww" and made me want to chase it. Mom said it was a weasel and weasels are good so she pulled me away from it. I thought it looked like one of my destuffed stuffies and I wanted to play with it!

Not much else going on here. Have a great day everyone!

I have just finished my meds that I was given to combat that nasty urinary tract infection that turned into a prostate gland infection. Apparently an infection of the prostate gland is very hard to treat so you need a long course of antibiotics to eradicate it. I was on antibiotics for 12 weeks.

Mom sure hopes that this time the infection is finally gone for good.

Wow, I appear to be a Dogster Diary Pick once again today! Thank you so much Dogster and thanks to the pals that have sent rosettes and pawmails.

The porcupine is still laying siege to the shelter belt. It appears to really like the willow trees and buffalo berry bushes. Several of those branches are already denuded of bark and the smaller branches have been eaten off. Mom and I watched it fall out of a willow tree again yesterday and you can't help but laugh at it. It really rattles when it shakes itself off afterwards.

Mom has talked to another conservation place and they suggested putting a radio nearby and leaving it on. Porcupines are solitary animals so do not like noise. The problem is, this is winter in Canada and the shelter belt is a ways from the house. Batteries don't like real cold weather, it has been -32C the previous two nights, and we don't have an extension cord long enough.

Mom went outside several times yesterday and banged pots and swore at the critter. It just looked at her like she was crazy. Good thing the nearest neighbor is over 1/2 a mile away and can't watch this. Hopefully they didn't hear her little "song" she was saying to the porcupine!

Anyway, will keep you posted on the comings and hopefully goings of the porcupine! Thanks again Dogster for the honor of being a Diary Pick today.

This morning started early as mom was just getting her cup of coffee when she saw the grader come down our drive. She quickly got ready and went out to talk to the driver, and then he went to work opening the drive.

Mom made me stay inside while she was talking to the driver and I did not like it.

Anyway, the yard is now open! Yeah! And I have big snowbanks to crawl on! They are so much fun.

Mom and I were playing outside and she glanced over at the shelter belt. She saw something funny in the shelter belt, pulls my leash out of her pocket and snaps it on me and then we take a walk. You guessed it. My porcupine is back. If anyone has any ideas on how to make a porcupine move, please forward them on!

Mom and I are having a snow day today. We got so much snow yesterday that mom has given up trying to keep the drive clean and has phoned the rural municipality to come with the grader and open the drive. It isn't real cold here today (-11C) but there is just so much snow that all of the school buses were cancelled today and lots of people are staying home because the highway is ice covered and snow packed.

We went for a good long snowshoe walk this morning and now we are taking it easy inside.

I gave mom a scare yesterday. I had bad diarrhea and then I started vomiting. All was better after I barfed up the mitt I had swallowed! I am much better today!

Almost forgot to tell my pals, that I now have free run of the house when the peeps are not home. My crate no longer is used to block off parts of the house they want to keep me out of, but I never seem to stray too far from my bed upstairs when they are out of the house.

Wishing all my pals a Happy Valentine's Day! xoxoxox

It appears my pet porcupine has finally moved on. Mom and I saw it leave our property, head across the road and into the neighbor's field shortly before lunch today. About half an hour later we saw it in the other neighbor's field. Mom says I will still be on the leash today, but hopefully it will be long gone by tomorrow and then I can run around again.

Thanks again to Dogster and all my pals that have made my day special!

Yesterday I am happily sniffing and digging in the snow in the ditch when I get my leash suddenly put on me. Mom then proceeds to drag me a short distance from where I had been. Ok she didn't drag me, but she made me move quick!

I see mom looking away from me and then I spy something! Mom says it was a porcupine and I need to leave those alone. She told me about Angel Abby's two encounters with porcupines and I guess they weren't fun.

I am wondering if anybody else is having this problem. I notice a bunch of my pals adding new pictures, but all I can see is a white box. I cannot see my pals happy faces. Is anybody else having this problem when someone posts new pictures? Maybe I should fire off a memo to HQ!

Not much happening around here. We have been getting so much snow lately, and then it warms up and we get freezing rain, and then cools off and more snow and round, round we go! We are sure looking forward to spring.

I have been happily destuffing and shredding most of my toys. If anyone has suggestions for durable toys, please pass them along. I have even shredded Kong toys and mom thought that wasn't possible! I haven't, however, done anything to the furniture or baseboards or anything else in the house as of late.

The following story is sad in a way, but it grossed out mom so I like it.

Mom was shovelling off the deck yesterday when she looked over at the BBQ cover. There was a very funny bulge in it. She went to feel the bulge and thought she felt feet!

She went to the garage and got a bucket and put a garbage bag into it. She went back to the deck and put the bucket under the bulge on the BBQ cover and then loosened the cover. There was a frozen crash in the bucket. Mom wasn't sure if she wanted to look or not. She decided to look and there was a very frozen squirrel. Don't ask her how it got there or why it got there. She thinks it wanted shelter under the BBQ cover and then froze.

Anywoodle, I looked into the bucket. Now I like anything frozen and just before this I was happily eating an icicle. Before mom knew what I was doing, I reached into the bucket, took out the squirrel, and laid down with it. When I realized mom was gonna take it away from, I quickly bit off a piece and went running with it. Mom disposed of the remainder and she figures I probably ate the piece I bit off.

The only thing better than frozen squirrelsicles is frozen poopsicles from the neighbors horses. Now those are yummy!

In other news, mom is thinking of renaming. Current suggestions are Shadow or Shadoe, Velcro, UnderFoot, or TooClose. What can I say. I need to be where the momma is!

Pups the momma was feeling a little down today, so we decided to go on an epic walk. My leg is much better, so we headed down to the river. We took one path and I sniffed all around, found a rabbit warren and enjoyed rolling in there and eating the raisins they left behind.

We then headed back up the trail and went to the other side path. I was again sniffing everywhere and then we decided to take a short cut up to our yard.

Now pups we have had a lot of snow recently and a lot of blowing snow. The top of the side path was really drifted over. It was a very solid drift and very vertical. I tried and tried to get up but kept sliding down. Mom decided to go ahead and make a trail up by kicking places to put her toes. I somehow got ahead of her and kept sliding down. But this time when I slid down, mom got a face full of my butt. She thought this was so funny that she accidently let go of the tree she was hanging onto and slid down the snowbank. I decided to slide on top of her. So then we tried going up again and the same thing happened. Eventually mom got up the drift and reached over and dragged me up with the help of my collar.

I think she is feeling a little better after our adventure. Tomorrow would have been Angel Abby's 12th birthday, so I know she is feeling a little down about that.

After I type this I will chase my tail because that always makes her smile!

Well pups, I think the momma is over-reacting but I am on restricted duty for a few days.

Yesterday daddy and I went for an epic walk down by the river. I was happily running along the shore when I slipped on some ice and down I went. I stayed down for a while, got up, tried to walk and then sat down again. I did this a couple of times before I shook it off. This put a quick end to our walk as daddy took me straight home.

I seem to be walking fine on leash but when I try to run I limp so mom says I am on leash walks for a few days.

By the way, this weekend I was nice to the peeps and let them sleep in until 7:45 a.m. one morning!

Yesterday mom decided she needed to tire me out and she took me on an epic walk. I think she decided I needed to be played out because around 3:00 a.m. yesterday morning I decided to wake her up. No, I didn't have to go outside, I just decided everyone should be up at that hour!

She straps on her snowshoes and off we trek through the neighbor's field. Mom made sure she walked through the deepest snow she could find. Sometimes I had trouble keeping up to her. I decided that trying to walk on the snowshoes was fun because this would make her fall into the deep snow and then I would jump all over mom.

An hour and 15 minutes later we arrived back home. I quickly ate everything in my food dish and drank all my water and then slumped to the floor in an exhausted sleep!

Guess what? I decided to wake her up again around 3 or was it 4 this morning? We have already been on one epic walk this morning and I hear there is another coming later today!

Happy New Year to all my pals! I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday season.

I received some toys from Secret Santa, and so far I have managed to destroy nearly all of them. I am very rough with my toys, but, other than chewing through the cable to the router, I have destroyed nothing in the house. OK, I also chewed the laces on mom's hiking boots and my seat belt, but do those really count?

I have a few more weeks on my antibiotic and then we hope that prostate infection is cleared up once and for all. The peeps notice that I have more energy and a very good appetite. They enjoy seeing the sparkle in my eye that I now have, so we hope that nasty E.coli infection has left.

We have so much snow and I love to go for walks and plow through the deep drifts! Searching out rabbits is fun and eating those rabbit raisins they leave behind are very tasty! Mom says I shouldn't make a habit of that, though!

Hope you all had a pawsome Christmas and New Year's and had a wonderful time with your families!

Yesterday mom and I are out for an afternoon walk. Suddenly a snowshoe hare jumps on the trail in front of me and I start chasing it. After a short ways, it stops, I stop, and we both look at each other. Then we are off again. Let's just say I ran far. In fact I ran across a big snowy field right up to the neighbor's fence line! That fence line is well over 1/2 mile away from where I started chasing the hare. I probably would have kept going had a big snow drift not bogged me down. Mom was not impressed when she finally caught up to me!

The momma thinks she knows what she did wrong. First she should not have chased me. I kept looking back and seeing my play partner coming after me, so I kept running. She figures she should have caused a commotion and went running in the opposite direction. Yeah, that might have worked. She also shouldn't have been yelling at me. I thought she was saying "Good Dog", but apparently those were not the words she was using.

As I was heading North, mom figures I might have wound up at the North Pole had I kept going.

Anyway, I am home now and apparently I will be using a very long leash today. Whatever!

Well pups, last Thursday I finished my last round of antibiotics and everything was looking good. Good until last night when I became very agitated and needed to go outside to pee every 30-45 minutes. Mom and I had a bad night.

Mom made a vet appointment for me first thing in the morning. She discussed a lot of things with the vet and then left me there to have the tests done. I will spare you the gory details of what I had done, but I had samples taken from my bladder and prostate and blood drawn and these were sent for cytology, culture and sensitivity and a complete blood panel done.

The cytology and blood panel came back this afternoon and the blood panel showed that I do not have any major systemic infection or a problem with my liver or kidneys. The cytology of my prostate gland showed lots and lots of mucus and lots and lots of bacteria rods. This points to a bad infection in my prostate, which is surprising as I am so young and neutered!

I will be spending the night at the vet's. I refused to eat, drink, pee or poop all day at the vet's and this was a concern to them. Otherwise, I was giving all the ladies kisses and was being adored by everyone. I will be started on another round of antibiotics tonight and mom will pick me up sometime tomorrow.

For the last few weeks I have been looking after mom as my daddy is away on a business trip. I hope he gets back soon so he can play with me in the snow.

Today mom took me down to the river. I love sniffing all over down there. Today I didn't want to do much sniffing at all. I stopped, sniffed, growled and then turned to go back up the riverbank. Mom had to look for a while, but she finally spotted what I was growling about.

She finally saw the fisher that was watching us. Fishers are not very nice creatures. They are the only thing that will actively seek out and eat porcupines and then they have no problem passing those quills! That is one creature you do not want to mess with.

We came back to our yard and mom chased me around in the snow.

I did it again pups! I snuck another frozen salamander into the house and left it for mom to find. I am not sure why she doesn't like these gifts I bring for her! She just gets some Kleenex to wrap it in and throws it in the trash. Oh, I can't forget I also snuck in part of a frozen garter snake. Tee Hee, I love finding these treasures outside.

Mom picked up my antibiotic refill and we are sure hoping that this will finally wipe out that infection.

We have been getting really weird weather. First we got lots of freezing rain, then we got snow. That day was bad as mom took me outside first thing in the morning and she was slipping and sliding on all the snow and the freezing rain that was under the snow. Then, when we came into the house, mom's snow covered boots slipped on the ceramic tile floor and down she went. She bashed herself in the eye with the flashlight she was carrying and she has quite the shiner right now.

Not much else going on here. Hope all you pups have an awesome day!

The vet just phoned mom with the results of the Culture and Sensitivity test that was done on the urine sample they got from me last Thursday. Apparently I have a very prolific E. coli infection.

It appears this strain of E. coli is very sensitive to the antibiotic that I got started on last Thursday, so I will be on this drug for another 4 weeks.

Hopefully this will be the end of that nasty infection once and for all!

Mom decided it was time to go in and unbeknownst to her I brought a surprise for her from the compost pile into the house. I got in the house and went into the peeps bedroom and left my surprise by her slippers.

Mom did some puttering in the house and then decided to get her slippers. Was she happy when she found my surprise? Not so much! Pups, don't you think leaving a frozen salamander by your momma's slipper is a sign you love them?

Well, mom was right, she did in fact see blood on the snow yesterday when I was peeing. She got several samples from me and she took them to the vet appointment. Whereas my urine was clear just last Friday, today they found blood, and elevated nitrates and pH in all of them. That still points to an infection somewhere.

First off the vet checked my prostate. I did not like that one little bit. Oh the dogmanity of it all! Then I got sedated and had my bladder x-rayed and then I was catheterized and a sample was taken. Oh, I also had my anal glands expressed! The horror!!

Luckily the x-rayed showed that I didn't have any kidney or bladder stones, but my bladder does look swollen so I still have an infection in there. Everything else look good on the x-ray. Tee hee, even the mouse I ate this morning showed up on the x-ray! Yeah me!!

The urine sample will be sent for a culture and sensitivity and hopefully then we can get to bottom of things. It might just mean I need to be on antibiotics longer, or I need a different antibiotic all together or I might even have a fungal infection.

Tonight I start yet another round of antibiotics, but we feel we are finally getting a handle on this infection.

We are hopeful my bladder infection is gone forever. I had my vet appointment this morning and I cooperated nicely and mom got a good sample from me before we went. The initial analysis showed, no white or red blood cells, no excess protein and no excess mucous. Ewww, that sounds gross! But that is actually good. They are now doing further tests to see if there might be crystals, but we really hope we don't hear back from the vet and everything is fine. I finish my last round of antibiotics on Monday and then we hope I am done those for a long time. I was also able to get my last puppy vaccination today.

I was 57 pounds today, so have slowed down a bit, that mom was assured I will probably have another growth spurt in the next few months.

For good measure today, I chewed throw my harness and the seat belt attachment that belongs to it. The comforter mom had in the back of the cab of the truck was also tempting so I started to shred that. Tee Hee! She had even given me my deer antler and another toy to chew on, but I decided to be destructive instead.

Wishing everyone a great weekend!

Today I had another vet visit. We were hoping I could get my final puppy vaccination today, but I am on antibiotics for another 10 days. It does look like my bladder infection is getting much better, so hopefully after this round of pills, I won't have to take any more pills for a while. Mom is still giving me yogurt and a milk thistle everyday, and maybe this is also helping.

I have to go back to the vet in one week, and get this pups, mom has try to get a urine sample before she takes me in! She told the vet she knew I would cooperate for her. Hmmm, we shall see!

I now weigh 55 pounds so I am gaining about 2 pounds a week!

Mom now has me registered for obedience classes that will start at the end of October.

We had our first light dusting of snow earlier this week, it didn't stay around long, but it was fun to play with. Speaking of playing with, mom got me two new toys early this week. My favorite is by Chuck It and it has a nice long rope attached to it so I can really swing it around and have fun with it. The other toy was sold by the CFL team in our province and mom refused to pay what they were intially asking ($14.99) for it, but when she saw it in the bargain bin at $1.00, she thought why not! I destroyed it quicker than you can blink your eye. Heh, heh!!

Take care everyone!

Yesterday was my last puppy club meeting. The club is for pups between 10 weeks and 6 months, and I just turned 6 months so I guess I just graduated. I am a little bummed about it, but my pal Willow graduated last week, so I guess us pups are growing up!

Mom had to phone the vet about me again today. I finished my antibiotics on Wednesday and this morning I has having problems peeing. The vet now wants to wait 7 days and due a culture and sensitivity on my pee. We have to wait that long due to the fact I just finished antibiotics and the results of the sensitivity test will surely be negative. The vet did give mom an emergency supply of pills for 5 days (it is the Thanksgiving long weekend in Canada) in case it got really bad, and unfortunately mom has already had to start those. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of my bladder problems soon.

Mom finally needs to update my weight, as I weighed 51.4 pounds yesterday at puppy club!

Yesterday mom needed to run some errands her and dad decided that maybe I could have more freedom in the house while she was away. Mom moved my crate into the hallway, effectively blocking off most of the house. She then moved my bed into the mudroom, left me a bully stick and a kong and my food and water dishes, told me not to destroy anything and went about her business. She was gone for about five hours!

When she opened the door on her return, she was pleasantly surprised to see, that: a) I had not chewed anything other than my bully stick and my kong!; b) nothing was scratched up; c) I had not had any potty accidents! I think this means that next time she has to run errands, I get a bit more freedom in the house. Yeah! Can't wait until I have access to all the rooms while they are gone.

Mom also bought me some new toys. I got a pawsome new rope toy and a frisbee! I love them both and have been spending equal time playing with them.

Well, tonight is puppy club, so I must go and rest up before I start chasing all my pals at puppy club around.

When I came to my furever home, I slept in a crate. It was nice and comfy, but I wanted to be where the peeps were. Sunday night was the first night the peeps let me sleep in their room at night. Mom put a nice comforter on the floor and after I had been outside and did my business, I went right into the bedroom and curled up on the comforter and slept there all night. Well, until 6:00 a.m. when I decided to investigate the closet and mom heard me do that. Mom still doesn't trust me enough to leave me out of my crate during the day when she has to be away, but that will come soon enough.

My new antibiotics seem to be helping me a lot and I have a lot more energy! I am already looking forward to Puppy Club this coming Thursday.

Yesterday was my first puppy club and I had a great time! I was so tired that I slept all the way home.

I wasn't sure I would get to go to Puppy Club because earlier in the day I was back at the vet because of my bladder infection. It appears it came back, or was never gone in the first place, and I am on antibiotics for another two weeks. If after that time I still have the infection, I will need an x-ray of my bladder, but I am hoping it will be all better by then.

I am gaining weight well, I now weigh 49.6 pounds so mom will need to soon update my weight on my page. Everybody comments on how shiny and soft my coat is becoming and I am currently getting three more adult teeth.

Puppy club started with a lecture for the parents, and we puppies were put in the "settle down" position. This was difficult!! But then we all got to run and play and chase each other in the clinic. I am looking forward to going next week.

I also had the honor this week of being the "Rosetta Pup" in Rotties Rules! Thanks everyone for the rosettes you have left on my page, it looks ever so nice!

Mum said I channelled my angel sister Abby today. Apparently she was a great helper in the garden, well today I proved what a good helper I can be.

At one point mom looked up from digging potatoes to see me pulling a pumpkin vine in my mouth. She ran after me and rescued the 3 medium sized pumpkins that were still attached to the vine. She then told me I should not remove the pumpkins vines from the soil yet. Actually, all I heard was blah, blah, blah, but whatever.

So then I tried to help dig the potatoes. Apparently my big paws kept getting in the way and I guess you aren't supposed to run around with the dug up potatoes in your mouth. Who knew?

In other news, things are much less scary for me now. When I first got to my furever home, I didn't like stairs or going in the house. I am not sure if I had ever been in a house before, but at first everything here was scary. I now happily run up the stairs and over the threshold and into the house.

Brooms and mops were also scary. I just cowered whenever mom swept the floor and would whimper if she came too close with the broom. When daddy mentioned this on his Facebook page, one of mom's friends thought that maybe my former owner was a witch and that is why I was afraid of brooms. A few days ago, mom went to sweep the mud room and she closed the door to the rest of the house, so it was me, her and the dreaded broom in the same room. She slowly started sweeping and let me sniff it. I backed away at first but then got braver. She went on sweeping and stopping to let me sniff it, and I got braver. Finally I gave a good bark at it and then a play bow. Now I am not afraid of that broom!

I am doing much better with my bladder infection, and only have a few more days to take those pills. I go to the vet tomorrow for my next set of shots. Mom and dad think I have gained about 5 pounds since I came to live with them and I will let you know if mom needs to change the weight on my bio once we are back from my appointment.

Mum took me to the vet yesterday and I charmed everyone at the clinic!

This is only the second time in my whole life I have been to the vet. The first time was August 28, when my foster mom took me. At that appointment I got some vaccinations and deworming, a clean bill of health and lost my testicles! I was not looking forward to this trip.

I guess I have a bladder infection and will be on antibiotics for two weeks. Mom is wrapping them in something called cheese, so they are very tasty and I am taking them well.

I was also violated at this appointment. Not only did I have my temperature taken (and you all know how they do that), but because I didn't pee (and they even gave me two big bowls of water which I eagerly drank), they used a catheter to get the urine sample. I paid them back later, by peeing all over the reception area floor!

I seem to be doing much better today and mom just took me on a drive to the dump to get rid of all the garbage. We then went into town to get some diesel for the tractor.

Hope everyone else is having a great day.

Hello everyone!

My name is Buddy and I just came to my furever home on August 31, 2012.

I was rescued from a community in the northern part of my province on August 13, 2012. I was then taken to a rescue outside of Saskatoon, Sask. At the rescue, I started receiving my vaccinations and deworming and was getting lots of good food to eat.

On the evening of August 17, 2012 a couple came out to the rescue to meet another pup. That pup didn't really suit them, and I knew I had to make my presence felt. My foster momma was in the back yard with this couple (I will now call them mom and dad) when her husband came home. Mum and dad were about to leave because that one dog didn't seem to fit what they were looking for.

As my foster dad was coming through the garage, I knew I had to make my move and started forcing my way out the garage door. My foster mom first said, "we don't need any more dogs out here" and then said "that dog is gonna be a monster". My foster dad was using all his strength to try and push me back in the garage and close the door! Mom then asked if she could see me! I came charging out of the garage and the rest is history.

I had a bit of a hard start to life, but thankfully I lived two doors down from the president of Northern Animal Rescue (NAR) and she was keeping an eye on me. She eventually persuaded my owners to relinquish me to the rescue.

I had no vaccinations and didn't have adequate food for the first part of my life. I was also chained outside without shelter day and night. I would like to thank the president of NAR for keeping an eye on me!

It is believed I am 4.5 months old and weigh 40 pounds, but everyone says I am underweight.

That is my story so far and thank you for reading it and nice of you to stop by! Maybe we can be pals?!?!?
