Patch and I have a new kitty sister. She is very interesting and I like her a lot, but not as much as Patch does. He is obsessed with her and just won't leave her alone. When her sees her he shakes all over and kind of whimpers. It's embarrassing.

Rose and I get along very well. I know when she needs her space and there are no problems between us. We can lay side by side on the bed or couch and just relax. Patch, on the other hand, just doesn't know when to back off. That's when he gets a hiss and a swipe.

It's a good thing Rose doesn't have any claws, or maybe not. If she did, Patch would sure get the message.

Today's my gotcha day and it has turned out pretty good, so far. It is hard to believe that it has already been one whole year since I came to live with my new mom and dad. Time sure has flown! Mom and dad had to work today, but when they come home they plan on giving me a surprise. I hope it's something yummy and scrumptious. Oh, sweet anticipation! :)

Patch and I had a big day today. First we went to the vet because we needed to get our annual shots. That was fun at first, before we actually got our shots. There were a lot of other pups - some bigger and some smaller. There was one dog - a Great Pyrenees - that was huge! But, he was kind of old and his hip was really hurting. I felt sorry for him.

After we got our shots, we went to this place called Petsmart and got some more Teenie Greenies. Patch also got a new squeaky toy. I don't much like toys. I like cuddles and playing chase with Patch more that playing with dumb old toys that don't do anything.

Then the best thing happened. We went to this great big park and there were a lot of ducks! Patch and I sure wanted to chase those ducks, but dad had a real good hold of the leashes. Looking at the ducks was cool, but it sure would have been better if we could have chased them. They were scared just seeing us because once they saw us coming they took off in the air and the water. Oh, well.

We walked all around the lake and when we got back to the care we were all really tired and thirsty. So, mom went to something called a drive through and got some sodas for her and dad, and some wonderful ice water for me and Patch. It tasted so good!

Then we went home and it was time for a nice rest.

I sure do hope we get to do that again real soon - except the vet, that is. :)

So far, this holiday has been just great. First of all, mom and dad are staying home and not going to work. I've gotten to snuggle in mom's lap longer today and it was real nice.

The next thing that is really good is the food! I LOVE food. There's not much that I won't eat.

This morning mom made something called Kroppkakor. It's a dish from some place called Sweden. It's potato balls stuffed with bacon, sausage and onions. Then she sliced up the balls and fried them a little bit in butter. YUM, YUM, YUM.

Apparently this is a new food that mom is making - and she's not even Swedish!

I hope there's lots more goodies coming. The kitchen smells so good and I'm so ready for more food. :)

I thought I had done it! I thought I had escaped the back yard and was free to run, run, run!!! I was doing a good job, too, but mom outsmarted me.

Let me back up a little.

There is an opening that leads from the back yard into our garage. It is not very big, but I was able to squirm through it this morning when dad put me and Patch outside. Then, when he and mom were about to leave for work, he opened the garage door and out I shot! Whooo Hooo! Hahahah - Patch couldn't get through, but I could!!

I went all around the front yard and then I went across the street and into the park. WOW!!! Talk about room to run!!! Mom called and called, but I didn't listen. I had FREEDOM!!!

Then, she played a dirty trick on me.

She yelled, "Do you want a Teenie Greenie?" Well, that made me stop in my tracks and, of course, I came running back to her, expecting to get that delectable treat.

But no such luck.

Mom scooped me up and promptly returned me to the back yard. She plugged up the hole really well so I couldn't get through it again and then she and dad went to work.

AND I NEVER GOT A TEENIE GREENIE!!!! :(

My new mom and dad leave for work and we pups get to go outside! I really like it, because I used to have to stay in my crate all day when my other mom would go to work.

Patch and I run around that yard chasing birds and cats. It's kind of strange that I'm allowed to bark and chase the cats outside, but not the ones inside. Maybe I'll figure that one out some day. We also bark at the next door neighbor dog (the one who broke through the fence).

We have a lot of fun outside, but we are always glad when mom and dad come back home. We get lots of belly rubs and doggie treats. Sometimes we also get human treats (had some yummy curry chicken last night). Also got some popcorn. yum yum yum!

After mom and dad eat supper, and get comfy in their chairs to watch tv, Patch and I get up into mom's lap and snuggle, but we have to go to our beds when she's ready to go to sleep. Wish we could snuggle with her all night, though. Mom's lap is the best place to be. :)

Today was easier than yesterday - which is an under statement. I still wonder where my other mom is, but I really like my new mom. She gives me belly rubs and good treats. I'm even getting along with Patch better, too.

Today, we had to go outside while mom and dad went to something called church. Not sure what that is, but mom and dad like it.

I wasn't used to being outside for so long, though. I'm not sure I like it, but it's another thing I suppose I will have to get used to.

I also met my human grandma today, too. I really liked her. She was nice.

This afternoon me, Patch and Daisy Mae (my cat sister) all took a nap with mom in her chair. Even my other cat sister, Lexi, came out to check us all out. It was really nice.

I guess this new home is going to be ok after all. :)

I am a bit confused right now. This morning I was with my mom and I was really happy. I did notice that something was up, though, because of all the boxes and everything in my house disappearing. Then mom put me and my sister in the truck, along with my human brother. I was so excited! I thought - yay! A car ride!

Next thing I knew, we were at a strange house and some people I didn't know at all came out and started making cooing noises at me. I wasn't sure I wanted to go with them, but there sure were some interesting smells. Mom finally took me into the house and I discovered a cat! I really wanted to check that cat out, but I wasn't allowed. Then I discovered another dog. A boy! I had never seen a boy dog before. He looked a lot like me, but a little taller. I was real excited and went over to sniff him because he smelled real interesting. He didn't like it, though. He growled at me. :(

But I kept trying and trying. Then we got to go outside in the back yard. Everything was real good, then all of a sudden this great big dog burst through the fence and came into the yard. I was really scared! I went to the door and scratched and scratched to be let in. It sure took them a long time to let me in. The new people were not happy about the big dog being in their yard - I could tell.

They finally got her out and took her to her real home. I was so glad. After a while mom left and I wasn't happy about it, but the new people were nice, so I decided just to "go with the flow". I kept thinking mom would come back, but she didn't. It turns out the new people were now my mom and dad.

I guess they're ok. Not the same as my real mom, but they are nice and have given me my own bed and treats and belly rubs.

As for Patch, he doesn't like me so much, but I'm sure with time that will change. After all, everyone tells me how cute and sweet I am, he's bound to fall in love with me eventually. :)
