The weather has been sultry her in PA and even though Molly is a house pooch the outside trips had her panting. Molly is just back from the groomer's with a summer haircut. It certainly changes her looks, but by the way she is prancing I'd say Molly approves. I always miss her longer locks, but she is much easier to brush and keep mats out with her shorter duo; plus I know she is cooler too. Happy Summer Molly!

This has been an interesting few months. September was the rainest September PA has ever had and poor Molly kept getting so wet when she went outside. Molly started to think going outside was always followed by a towel rub down. Wet paws led to matted legs which were no fun to keep untangled.

Then in October we had our first and deepest snow ever for October. Molly loved the snow! Hopping in it, sniffing it, and rolling in it was fun and just like a little kid she didn't want to come inside. The towel and hair dryer were put into use again.

We also lost electricity for a several hours during that snow storm; unlike many in our community who lost theirs for days. No heat and low outside temps made for a chilly house. Molly wasn't certain about all the candles or our kerosene lamps which gave off unusual smells and less light either, but with no electricity there was more time for brushing, cuddling, and playing fetch with Molly's favorite twisted, knotted rope. Maybe this no electricity isn't such a bad thing after all.

We're all hoping November is much quieter and the October snow is not an indication of what is to come this winter. Regardless Molly is ready for the challenge and Mom has the reliable dry towels handy.

Dad had a milestone birthday and Mom threw a party for him. It was a great time. The family came and lots of friends came all afternoon and into the night. Molly tried to greet everyone but after the first 20 or so people she gave up and only barked at the ones who rang the doorbell. So many people wishing Dad birtday wishes and then wanting to pet Molly Dog it was fun but exhausting. No gifts were expected but some brought Dad what they called gag gifts. Molly didn't care about the gag gifts, but the tissue paper was fun to tear apart. A couple of people brought Molly gifts instead of Dad; that was really GREAT! Molly got a couple of chew toys and treats. The dinosaur Nylabond was fantastic.

Some guests even offered Molly her favorite treat of raw carrots as they grazed on the party foods. Molly barely had time to enjoy the snack because there was someone new to greet coming through the door. Tough job for a 4-legged fluffy, friendly hostess.

As the evening wore on, Molly curled at Mom's feet to keep an eye on everyone and try to catch a short nap. Guests still enjoyed giving Molly a few soft pats or gentle petting to feel her soft hair. Dad should have more birthdays like this. No problems going to sleep that night for one tired little pooch.

Molly just came back from the groomers and is prancing around the house to show off her new cut. Molly loves to see and not be hinder by her long hair that grows over her eyes. She got another summer cut; longer than a puppy cut but much shorter than her normal winter cut. Love how she races around the house after a trip to the groomers.

Although it was time for a cut, Molly is actually getting ready for Dad's birthday party coming up in September. She's been helping Mom with invitations, menu, cooking and freezing items in advance of the party, and just being her usual supportive self. Her trip to the groomer was just one more item to check off the "to do" list before the party. Molly is anxiously awaiting the chance to bark and greet people as they come to wish Dad birthday greetings.

Three years ago today a small, timid, energetic, white fluff ball of a puppy arrived in our driveway from Missouri. Molly made her first appearance in our lives and hearts on this day. Can't believe it's three years already and yet it seems as though she has been here longer.

I ponder on the puppy she was then and the loveable companion she is now. She is my shadow and lays by my side or feet constantly. Molly truly is a forever friend and kindred spirit of mankind. We were very lucky to have found her and brought her into our lives. Happy "Gotcha Day" Molly Girl!

Over the weekend Molly Girl and family attended a "Bark for Life." A local group sponsored the event in connection with a "Relay for Life" to promote cancer awareness in dogs as well as humans.

There were doggie games, doggie treats, doggie apparel, a doggie play area, and various accessories as well as food for humans. The event was held on the grounds of a kennel which places dogs for adoption to new homes. The kennel owners were walking various pooches up for adoption hoping a new owner might be found. They also had an open house of their facilities since they offer Doggie Day Care as well.

Molly had a great time meeting new dogs, trying new treats, and supporting a worthy cause.

On Sunday, Molly dog and family went to visit relatives on the farm. Molly loves these trips and is always anxious to get there because she knows she can run off lease to her heart's content.

Roxie pooch, a yellow lab, is queen of the farm but tolerates Molly girl very well. Roxie is getting up in age and watches the wirlwind Molly run all over the place and around her. After an hour they are both settled down until the next new relative arrives and then it a rush to see who can greet them first. Molly may be small but she is no push over when it comes to getting free attention and pats. Room to roam, free handouts every now and then, and lots of people to cuddle with. Who could ask for a better time?

Evening draws neigh and it's time to head home. One worn out pup sleeps all the way home not caring about who's in the car beside us or why are we slowing down. Going to the farm is a great adventure every time we go and Molly girl wouldn't miss it.

Molly the fierce, white hunter found and killed a baby rabbit. Mom was horrified and Dad said, "What to you expect from a conivore?" Mom told him I was an omnivore and she expected me to focus on plants not live meat.

I heard the command to drop but I didn't want to give up my prize not even when they offered me some of my favorite bite size chicken snacks. The cheese however was a good trade so I dropped the now deceased rabbit. Couldn't believe Mom and Dad weren't proud of me. Mom was actually upset. Today a little rabbit who knows what tomorrow will bring. Sure hope mom gets over her upset.

Molly paid a visit to Trudy to be groomed this week. She comes home so white and fluffy like cotton. Molly prances around the house as if to say, "Look at me; aren't I cute?"

I just love running my fingers through her hair as it is so unbelieveably soft. She also gets her bangs cut so one can see her expressive dark eyes. The only problem it rained! Fluffy hair doesn't survive a soaking. Bring out the hair dryer and doggie brush. Fluffy once again, but Trudy does a better job than Mom.

Yesterday the family came to visit and celebrate a birthday. With fourteen people in the house Molly didn't know who to greet first. Everyone of them is a dog person so there were lots of hugs, pats on the head, laps to sit on, extra runs outside, and faces to lick. Molly was a very happy pooch! By the time everyone left Molly was worn out being the gracious host making sure she spent time with each person; not to mention most of them know where her treats are kept and extra ones fell her way during the day. Sundays like this are wonderful for the adults of the house and one fur kid.

Molly and I are watching as the weatherman is calling for more rain for our area. Less outings and wet fur is not Molly's favorite things. Molly's not fond of jackets or doggie clothes so she get the towel rub down when she is wet. The rub down must feel good as it winds her up for a running spree around the house. Then a quick spin and lay at someone's feet or lap if she's not too damp. Going to be one of those quiet days inside and with Mom that's not a bad deal for either of us.

Molly turned 3 years old this month on March 13th. To her it was probably just another day until she received new chew toys and special doggie treats. Can't believe we've had her 3 years.

She is the snuggling campanion fur kid I wanted. Most of the time she is snuggled by my side or curled at my feet and although she is close at hand she seems to know how to stay out of my way when walking.

Molly has out grown some of her undesireable puppy habits and is the most non-aggresive even tempered pooch I've ever met. She still is timid and has some habits to improve but she is the little dog of our hearts. I'm so glad she's come into our lives.
