Hi all.

Me and Sly had a somewhat restless night with all the (sanctioned and not sanctioned) pre-holiday fireworks. Mommy sat with us so we had nothing to worry about. She will stay up with us tonight too. Then the early morning best ever smells of grills hard at work got us going again. We just had lunch. Grilled chicken fingers. Yummy! Now we need a nap. Take care and enjoy the day. It's my cross to bear that I get the little crate 'cause I'm short. Don't get me wrong, I am just happy to have a crate and mommy says someday she will get me a big one like Sly's. When mommy? When? Oh. Santa's going to bring it. Alright then. When will Santa get here? I am thinking I don't like where this is going. I gotta go talk to mommy. Bye. *DAXi*

Hi ya'll.

Mommy says the days will be getting longer now that spring is on the way. So, we started spring cleaning. We had so much fun. We helped mommy move stuff and vacuum. We like to vacuum. Sly helped mommy wash the walls in the dining room. Cause he won't go into kitchen during the daytime, I helped her wash the walls in there. I was very concerned and watched mommy carefully when she was taking down our crates. They are like baby cribs to us. Very comforting when we don't feel well or are scared when the wind blows really hard and we hear loud and strange noises. Then me and Sly realized she was moving them into dining room. We are so happy. We like having the dining room as our special place. Mommy color coordinates everything, even our doggie beds covers which smelled so good right out of the dryer. Mommy says tomorrow is another busy day, so I'm off to get my beauty sleep. xoxoxo *DAXI*

Hi everyone.

Mommy kept an eye on Sly and realized he wasn't off his food, he's off the kitchen. He refuses to go into the kitchen during the daytime. He just stands in the doorway and whines. She says not to worry, he's just entered a new fear phase. When she moved our food and water to the dining room he scarfed everything down like he normally does. Who knew? I knew that's who. When we were little pups he always followed my lead when he was scared. Now that he's a big boy (almost) he wants do things on his own sometimes. Mommy says that's okay because that's part of growing up. She already rearranged the table and chairs and now she's going to move our crates into the dining room for awhile cause change is good. She said since spring is trying to show itself, we can eat out on the deck again. She'll move everything back later. A mommy's work is never done. xoxoxo *DAXi*

Mommy did notice one bowl of food was not always finished and figured out someone was scarfing down snacks instead of kibble. My tummy is just fine thank you. I eat my food, some of Sly's, and my share of the snacks. Sly is a big guy by breed, but I've always eaten more than he does. Mommy will sort it all out and get everything back to where it should be. I had a stuffed lamb, but have no idea what a real one is like. Mom says I would like herding them. Me and Sly are having a blast. It's rainy but warm and mom has the door to the deck open. We are running around, in and out, gulping raindrops tracking on the carpet. Woo Hoo! Mom says Spring is almost here. Oh, we still have our new beds. We really like them. We can flop down and mom doesn't have to worry about me getting hygromas. The QA testing, when mom wasn't around, went well. ;D Bye! *DAXi*

My awesome brother Sly has been selected as a Diary Pick today. Woo Hoo! Mommy gave us, my favorite, pig ears to celebrate. We are munching away as she types. When we woke up this morning and there was snow all over the deck and yard. We had such a good time chasing each other around in it. We love the snow. We only stayed out a little while though.
Hello everyone.

Mom got me and Sly new dog beds this weekend. She put some time into deciding which ones to purchase. We have one from Boots and Barclay that is very durable - meaning I haven't yet been able to destroy it - but she went with B&B ones that are more color coordinated with our decor. We love them. They are so soft and comfortable. She keeps one eye on me because I immediately began my quality assurance testing. We won't be allowed to use them while she's at work. It hasn't been too cold this morning so she's left the sliding doors open and we've been having a great time chasing each other in and out. We're really glad mom is feeling better. Hope you're having a great time today too. xoxoxo *DAXi*

Hi everyone.

It's me Daxi. I hope you all have been enjoying the new year. We have even though mommy had a bad cold. She stayed home with us for most of it so she wouldn't give it to her co-workers. We got to love on her, which probably didn't help her cold, and she opened the sliding doors whenever we asked. That is, except for the morning the lock broke. However, sick as she was she got it taken care of and everything was back to good. Me and Sly have been having fun playing in the snow. Mommy's been too sick to go out and play with us, so we bring her lots of snow when we come back inside. ;D xoxoxo *DAXi*

Hi everyone.

I am so excited. It's a new year and me and Sly have a birthday coming soon. Woo Hoo! Mommy put down our new blankie today and ooooooh, it's so soft. I love it. I immediately put it through the Daxi test of worthiness and it passed. Good to know. I'm available to test any and all rugs, blankies, and furniture. Afterall, you only want quality goods. On New Year's day, mommy cut her hair. OMD! All of it. She'd been talking about it for awhile and said now was the time. It looks good short. She said, it's part of her plan to lead a healthier and more productive life. It's been nice having mommy home with us for a few days at a time. We've been showing her how responsible we are. Well, except for the marking incident this afternoon. It was totally clean where that rug was covering. I couldn't help myself. Darn Spot Bot! Cleaned the stain and smell like it never happened. It's okay, it rained this afternoon. I made do with tracking mud all over the carpet 'til mommy caught me in the act. They weren't no chihuahua size paw prints either. ;) Ha. Ha. Love ya! *DAXi*

Hello everyone.

It's true. I leaned on the baby gate this morning, and before you could say abra-cadabra, I was through the looking glass. At first it was fun. You know. I was just nosing around, looking out the window, and gloating to Sly that I was a big girl. Then I heard him chowing down on breakfast. I couldn't get in. I was going to miss my breakfast. OMG! I looked around and realized there was no food or toys on my side of the gate. Mommy had it neat and clean. I laid on the rug. I coughed out mommy! mommy! save me, your precious baby girl. Okay. I'm mostly exaggerating. Not about the coughing though. Sly had all the water on his side too. Mommy was so proud of me. Nothing got broken, eaten, pooped on, or wet. I had a really good day. I hope you did too. xoxoxo *DAXi*

Hello everyone.

Today was a lovely day, even if me and Sly slept most of it away. Last night the two of us pigged out (select items only) on mommy's leftovers from her brunch and holiday dinner. Delicious. We were so stuffed we didn't eat breakfast. Mommy called Grandpa Tom and his pup, over aunt Macy, is doing really well. Grandma Jo passed away earlier this year. Grandpa Tom loves to talk sports and politics. Mommy keeps up with the sports stats to keep up with Grandpa, but doesn't really watch any besides NASCAR and extreme sports. Politics she keeps up with. Sly heard mommy on the phone with Santa this morning. Seems he forgot to deliver a gift. We're hoping it's for us. I hope you all had a great day after Christmas too. xoxoxo *DAXi*

Hello all.

It's a beautiful, classic, cold and crisp mid-Atlantic Christmas day. At least, that is my take on it as this is my first Christmas anywhere. Mommy came down really early this morning. We got a new bed. It's big enough for both of us. It's also orthopedic, which we need 'cuz I'm prone to hygromas. We got pull toys, new blankeys, stuffed animals - doggy proof (we'll see), bones, and piggy ears. I love my furry blankey. We also got something called Musher's Secret so our feet will be comfortable when we go out in the snow. Mommy said Santa is a gentleman, as he set aside the little issue with the chair. I almost forgot this morning's snow shower. I do not like snow falling from nowhere. Actually, I don't like it touching my hair at all. It disappeared when it touched me. I was scared. BTW - This morning mommy told me how proud she is of me. It seems I was afraid of everything, including trust and love, when I came to live with mommy and Sly. Can you believe it? I can't either. I've always lived with mommy and Sly. She must have mean't way back when I was a little baby girl. My first Christmas has been wonderful. I sure hope your's was too. xoxoxo *DAXi*

Hi everyone.

We were so happy to see mommy when she walked in the front door last night. We greeted her at the baby gate. Lots of warm hugs and kisses all around. She walked into the dining room and froze. Then she said, "Daxi. Who tried to eat the chair?" Me? Why was mommy asking me? I said, "Ida Knogh." Sly went into his crate and laid down. Mommy refused to believe Ida Knogh had been visiting us, again, while she was at work. She took a couple of photos. Made me and Sly go outside. Then started cleaning everything up. Mommy said it was her fault 'cause she left the gate down and she knows I'm still getting my big girl teeth. She also said she could stop complaining about that cheesy fabric and get the furniture redone. See, I was just trying to help mommy get over her procrastination. ;)

Hello Everyone.

Sly had his surgery today. He's a little whiney, but he's doing okay. To distract him I thought a little WWE wrestling match would be good, but mommy had me tone it down a lot. I missed him today. To distract me, mommy and I had a tea party. I didn't get any tea, but I got to share mommy's holiday Linzer cookies. Then, just the two of us raked the last of this year's leaves. After some chores were done, mommy settled down to a good book and I got to snuggle and sleep with her on her sacred Dale Jr. blankey. We're glad Sly is done with his surgery. He'll be his old self in a few days. Then we'll have a real WWE match. Take care and lots of love, *DAXi*

I love a big post holiday sale! Dogster must be having one in the Gift Shop this morning. The line to get in must be across the bay. I, Dakota Sioux, can see the prezzies but cannot get in. Can you believe it? I can't either! I, and Sly, have prezzies to purchase for our pallies. Hopefully, you're closer to the door than we are. ;) Have a wonderful Saturday. Stay warm.
Good day all.

Early yesterday while it was still dark, we piled into Uncle David's Suburban and headed for New Jersey. It was rainy and wet, but he didn't mind us having to get in and out to go potty and sight see. We finally got to Jersey and mommy had a time getting me into the house. Fortunately, Uncle David just picked me up, said he'd send mommy the bill for his hernia, and put me inside. I was shaking like a leaf. Sly got over his shyness first. Then I was able to relax. We got to Gramma Karen's house before everyone else so we would be settled down by the time they arrived. Gramma Karen has two cats that stayed upstairs. Two other doggies, Bart the pit bull and Sadie the Doberman came to dinner too. Before each of them came in, mommy made us walk around the block with them. No one could believe we are only six months old. There was lots of people food. Everyone oooh and awed over it. But, the real treats were the big juicy meaty bones Gramma Karen cooked for us doggies. Lots of protein on those bones. We all ate an early dinner and the humans sat around with the coffee and desserts. Then trouble arrived. Aunt Colleen - sniff - that's who. She brought her little Pommies, Foxy Brown and Lil Kim, who would be cute if they weren't so bossy. Sly and Bart just turned their backs. Me and Sadie kept our eyes on them the whole time. Gramma Karen was upset because she'd asked Colleen not to bring them over. They always make trouble with the cats. Mommy tried to explain that we have pup pals who are small, but who are nice to everyone. Aunt Colleen, who lives across the street, would not allow her husband to take them home. She said they had just as much right to be there as the other grandpups. Gramma said she'd decide who was a grandpup and who was a pain in the ___. ??? Anyway, aunt Colleen got upset because one of them nipped at Sadie and Sly and Bart growled at her. That's when uncle David, uncle Ryan, and uncle Kev said it was time for the big dogs to go. Aunt Sharon was glad we were leaving too. She is afraid of big dogs. So why come to the early dinner I ask you? Thank goodness. Mommy got our bones and we headed back down to Mary-Land. Hope your Thanksgiving was delicious and entertaining too. ;) *DAXi*

Then we helped her vacuum the carpet 'cuz we tracked in dirt. Then we took her for a walk. Then we had dinner. Then she surprised us with ... Dinosaur bones. Yep. They are huge Woolly Mammoth bones. They are delicious. We chewed and chewed. We're still chewing today. Hope y'all had a great weekend too. Love *DAXi*

Hi.

It was a lazy Sunday for me and Sly. Mommy did housework all day. Laundry, vacuuming, cleaned the carpet downstairs, etc. Then she was exhausted. She said we're going to have to redistribute the order of the chores so we can have more family time now that nighttime comes so early. That's good. Now that we have all our shots and are legal citizens of the county, we can't wait to get out and meet new people and go to new places. Happy Sunday. *DAXi*

Today was the first real day off, minus weekends and holidays, mommy's had in a long time. She ran some errands and located the county animal shelter. She said she didn't want to be all stressed out and trying to find it. She also said the directions are simple; if you've been there before. Anyway, she's standing in line to purchase me and Sly's licenses when this lady busts through the door yelling about a Yorkie. The shelter people calmed her down, took her in the back, and she identified the perp, huh pup. She came back, got on her cell to the owner, and said it was going to cost a zillion dollars to spring Yorkie. The owner, poor thing, wouldn't have the funds 'til next Friday. Mommy could hear her crying and was ready to pitch in. The friend, who told mommy she'd jumped out of bed, drove right down and started knocking on doors, said she'd cover it. She asked the shelter people how they knew to call her friend, since the dog had no I.D.? One of the shelter ladies said the owner posted the information and photo on the county's webpage. Light bulb moment for mommy. Then the friend turned to the Yorkie's boy and said, "You said the only thing you wanted for Christmas is your dog back. Right? Okay. I'll pay for her microchip and that will be your present from me." He was about 10 years old and crying, but he hugged her hard. Mommy said, everyone was very moved. I'm 'chipped. Sly will get his next month when he has his sirjwery. Mommy will call immediately to give the shelter his 'chip number. As she was leaving, the owner, who'd had to report into work first thing this morning, was there still teary, but obviously relieved her friend had her back. Can you imagine trying to find a cute little Yorkie in a big neighborhood? or not having the funds to cover parole costs? Mommy says, it could happen to anyone and probably has happened more times than we'd like to think. Yikes!

Hey.

Sly has the nice vet. She always comes in to say hello to me when she consults with my vet. At 74lbs he outweighs me by 18lbs. He's got less than 100lbs to go to reach the breeder's average of 170lbs. The vet thinks Sly may get a little bigger and that I may be smaller than the 130lbs average for females. I will still be the boss of him though. ;) *DAXi*

Hey.

Sly is a Dogster Daily Diary Pick today. He's the best brother a girlie could have. No wonder he's a diary pick. Today was a good day. Me and mommy celebrated with Sly this morning. Then she took Sly for a long walk. Next she came back and got me. Now, all about me. I'm still having issues with being a little scared of the big bad world, as mommy says, but I had a good walk. Mommy is patient with me. I used to be really scared of the car, but mommy had me walk around it and she must have made me sit umpteen million times so I would know it's not going to hurt me. Silly mommy. I know that. Then she took me to the vet so she could give me something for what we thought was a new eye infection. It turns out I am allergic to the sutures dissolving from my surgery a month ago. Mommy says I am such a drama queen and should be earning my keep by treading the boards. ??? At first, I was really scared to get out of the car, but mommy stood there a long time to let me see nothing was going to hurt me, then she led me out and I was fine. Mommy spoils me, but the ladies at the vets coddle me because I'm so shy. ;) When we were leaving, the vet said I needed some leadership. Mommy, ever the epitome of patience, decided not to take it personally since she only had to pay for my eye medicine and she only had to endure that vet for 10 minutes or so. Then we left and I merrily walked to the car, climbed the ramp, and settled in for the ride home. Angelina Jolie. Eat your heart out. ;) *DAXi*

Yes. It is true. I am accident prone. I get that from mommy. She says, "Daxi. We are the supermodels who trips over our own feet on the runway." I took a header (Not really. I just like the way it sounds.) off a couple of the decks' steps this afternoon. It stunned me, for sure. Mommy and Sly too. They were right there checking me over, with hugs and kisses - Sly got some too cause he was scared. When I didn't bounce back right away mommy thought I'd broken a leg or something. It took me a moment, but I shook it off, and under mommy's watchful eye, proceeded to enjoy the rest of the afternoon. I am very humbled by how much my family loves me. I love Sly and mommy too. Have a good evening. *DAXi* P.S. We had a great weekend and Happy Halloween!

I don't like puttin' votey things in my diary. But this is very much dog related. We are sorry if any pup is upset by this issue. Peoples use votin' to resolve some of their differences. Maybe this information will inspire more Missouri peoples to vote. Although, it is sad laws are needed to make some people do the right thing. Here goes, this was sent to us by the Petfinders:

Hello my dear friends.

Dogs in Missouri need your help. Why should you care about dogs in Missouri? Because in your city there is a pretty good chance you have a local pet store selling puppies from a Missouri puppy mill. In fact, Missouri exports up to a million puppies a year all across the U.S. (30% of U.S. puppy mills are in Missouri), and this November, Missouri voters will get to mandate common-sense humane standards for puppy mills at the ballot box.

But the folks who profit by cutting corners on humane care are pulling out all stops to try to quash this important legislation. I applaud the Humane Society of the United States and our Missouri colleagues' efforts to bring about change for over 200,000 breeding dogs. Join us to get the word out to all Missourians to vote YES! on PROP B. Post it on Facebook; e-mail your friends. Help the dogs!

Thank you for your support.
Dakota Sioux

Hi everybody.

I admit it. I am the instigator. Sly is Mr. Happy-Go-Lucky, but he's great fun because he joins me in my 'capades. A moth, and I love to stalk and eat them, landed on the screen door. When I bit down and pulled I came away with a mouth full of screen. Me and Sly forgot about the moth and had fun pulling and biting on the screen. Mommy put us in the kitchen, and went back upstairs to finish getting ready for work. When she came back she knew we'd probably already forgotten about the screen. She gave us a snack and went to work. Saturday, when she went to the basement for laundry, me and Sly started pulling on the screen and 'dently pulled it out of the door thing. Not just the screen. The whole panel. BAM! We ran to the back of the yard to wait for mommy. She just shook her head and moved it to the back of the deck. Sunday, she put a new Pet-D-Fence screen in she got at the depot place. So far she's making sure we don't touch it. Silly mommy. Bye. *DAXi*

Hello everyone.

I feel better about myself today. I will have surgery on Thursday to correct my cherry eye. Hopefully, it will stay corrected forever. Sometimes they don't. My vet is going to tag team with a partner vet to spay me at the same time so they don't have to put me under twice. The vet was worried about it cause another vet thought she heard a slight heart murmur the last time I was there. None of the other vets heard it and I don't have any symptons, so mommy adopted a wait and see attitude. The other two vets say I'm good to go for the surgery. Now. I hate going to the vet. I was so scared. I wouldn't walk (again). I had a accident. I got stuck with (2) needles. I met two really nice dogs and some funny people who thought I was really cute. I also met a lady who really scared me. She thought I was really pretty but she made me poop. I've got all my shots now and after the surgery followup shouldn't have to see the vet for a long long time. Thank goodness. *DAXi*

Hi. Me, Sly, and mommy had a terrific weekend everybody. Mommy was so right about me becomming more familiar with walks by practicing it. We had a long one this morning. She took us down to a busy street so we could experience all the cars zooming by. I am so glad mommy was there. I was scared at first but mommy kept encouraging me and before I knew it we were hiking over a big grassy area, not a car in sight. She goes back to work tomorrow, but I think I'm getting used to it. I just have to keep practicing it. Hope you had a good weekend. Bye. *DAXi*

Today she had to run an errand and said she felt bad about being late, 'specially cause it's Friday. She stopped at the store and got Sly and I some nice big bones to chew on and play with. We love them too. Well, tomorrow is a big day cause it's Saturday, so I gotta get some rest. Take care. *DAXi*

Hi Everybody. Mommy sure had us busy yesterday. She is really nice because if I don't want to walk I don't have to. I usually end up wanting to go when she and Sly returns. So she takes me. One time I went 'outside' with someone and I ended up far away in a new home. Mommy says I'll never forget it but I'll get past it cause I'm in my forever home. Anyway, today we all went together. I was scared but mommy champeened me and Sly the whole way. We had so much fun. Mommy is funny. She doesn't say anything, but we can tell she does not think it's funny when we go on the carpet, especially if the back door is open or we could have walked 5 feet to the papers. hehehe. Yesterday, she cleaned it and this morning both me and Sly went on it. She just raised her eyebrows and shook her head. Then she put us outside and cleaned it up. We laughed at the joke we played on mommy. :) *DAX*

Good morning everybody. It's a lovely day for me. I love to bark! I just found out for sure yesterday evening. Nothing I did made Sly want to play with me so, I got vocal about it. I finally started barking. At first I was so surprised that noise was coming from me. Mommy and Sly just stared at me. Then I realized how much better I felt and kept doing it. Mommy took us outside and I just barked and barked. Mommy says I have to use my inside bark the rest of the time, but I forget. I'm having so much fun. Mommy says I'm growing up. Eat your hearts out Opera ladies. Arf! Arf! *DAX*

Who decided dogs needed to be on leashes?! It's not fair. Mommy says it's for my safety. I understand that because there is a lot of big, loud, and smelly stuff out there that scares me. I just don't like it. Sly loves it. He loves to sight see with mommy. Mommy tried to get me to relax. Sly says I mess up the walk because I have to stop to test the wind and to smell every little thing. So. I'm cautious and I'm curious. Mommy says I just need some 'justment time. I was really acting up this evening when she took Sly without me. I thought I'd be happy about not having to go. But you know what? I really missed them and wished I'd gotten to see what Sly saw. I wouldn't even speak to mommy when she came back. She was sad. She said we would continue to work on it and eventually I'll be fine. Then she gave me and Sly some cheese and we all took a nap in the living room. I'll try to be better tomorrow. Take care. *Dax*

Today was my first trip to the vet. I didn't want to go so I wouldn't get out of the car. Mommy had to carry me every where. I pooped on their floor - hehehehehe - you should have seen mommy's face - hahahahah hehehehehe. And, I pee'd on mommy - hahahahaha. Actually, a funny looking little dog reminded me of a troll and that scared me. When we got home I made mommy take me out of the car. Then pretty as you please, I walked right up the front steps. Then me and Sly ran around on the deck and in and out of the patio doors. Everyone at the vet's office, including mommy, thought I wasn't feeling well today - hehehehehe. I might like going to the vet. It's a hilarious place. They may want to rethink those metal exam tables though. Have a good evening. *DAX*

Hey everybody.

Sly is home. Hooray! Well, sort of. I was really happy to see him until he tried to literaly take the treat right out my mouth. Now? Not so much. Oh well, that's what big brothers are like sometimes. Sly was sick when he got home yesterday. Mommy cleaned everything up and even stayed up most of the night with him. He was better this morning so mommy took us for a long walk. She said, "Bless the individual who invented the dog coupler cause it is heaven sent." We don't know what that means but we had fun. She took me by myself yesterday but I like when we all go together. I can climb down the front steps so I showed Sly how to do it. He, the show off, figured out how to climb up the deck stairs. Those ones are scary. He doesn't like outside very much so when mommy turned around, he was half way across the deck to the patio doors. He had the training but I always come when mommy calls. His 'tention span is short. Cause he was sick mommy monitored his food and water intake today. I can't believe how much water he wants to drink. He spills it all over the place too and he tries to gobble up my food, but mommy won't let him. Boys. I thought mommy was mad at me last night because I kept waking her up to tell her Sly was sick. She wasn't. She's just concerned about the neighbors. Hopefully mommy will get some much needed sleep tonight. Bye. *DAX*

Last night after my last potty break mommy and I snuggled on the couch. It was nice. Today, I learned to use the new ramp for the car. I walked up and down the ramp munching on treats and kibble. We sat out on the deck for a little while too. We practiced with the leash in the back yard. Stupid leash. I get all tangled but I really don't like the harness yet. Mommy praised me, saying one step at a time, so I guess I did good. I've done all my business outside today so "yea for me." Mommy says I'm so good, for now, because after breakfast I go to my pallet and play while she does chores. I only went in the kitchen to eat lunch and to get some water. She was teasing me about my first day here because I would only come out of my crate for a little bit. She was surprised when she offered me a long bully stick this afternoon and when I sniffed it, I cried and ran away. Then she was sad because I had tears. I was sad too. She said not to worry because we're going to work on my confidence and other imprinting skills. She says Sly likes the long bully sticks so we'll save them for him. She gave me a kong with peanut butter and treats. We are both very happy. Well, I would be happier if I could have another yam treat.
