New Mom went off to some dog show this weekend so she dumped me off at Old Mom's house. We arrived on Thursday and Mom plunked me right in with Grampy Jones. I will admit, he was sure happy to see me!
Friday was hot and humid and we hung out in the air conditioned dog room all day long. That night NMom came back and spent the night so fortunately, she let ME sleep with her in the guest room. Hehehe, I guessed I was a GUEST!!
Saturday I found myself right back with Jonesy again! It was okay, we do love playing together and it was fun.
BUT, come Sunday morning, I found myself back with Jones after sleeping with New Mom in the guest room again, BUT, New Mom left in her car with the labs and DIDN'T TAKE ME!!!
Mom said I was gonna stay here ALL Summer cuz Jonesy is lonely and New Mom's kennel is too warm for me to stay in while she is at work. I suppose that might be okay, as long as we get to play in the lab pen, and Jethro can play with us!
Watch my page for new, upcoming photos!!!

I have been sooo busy that I couldn't write a diary!! I have been here for THREE WEEKS now, visiting with Jethro and my old pals here while New Mom was off judging some shows. I was supposed to go home last weekend but all that snow got in the way. Gemma is here, too.
I have been having some fun with Jethro, but Mom doesn't let me play with him unless she is right there watching us. She says I am a bit rough. I am a bit rough???? what about HIM. Does she have ANY IDEA how sharp his tiny teeth are??? I know Tonya does, he snapped onto her finger this morning just like a shark would have, hehehe!
We had a huge snowstorm so none of us have ventured down into the lab pen yet. Well, actually, Toto and Crystal did, but the rest of us just followed them down the first path, then the snow was so deep we gave it up and went home.
I have had some fun playing with my hubby, Darrell. He is a pretty neat guy if I do say so myself, even if Mom gets really mad at him because he runs when called instead of comes, BOL! Smart boy, he knows she is calling him to put him back inside his crate. I don't come either, well, unless she has a very, very special treat for me.
Hey, can you imagine how bad Jethro is going to be about coming if I am his mother and Darrell is his dad?? It's gonna be really, really bad, hehehe!
Speaking of Jethro, Mom left him over at work tonight. She said it is time for him to learn about stuff like that. I bet he is screaming his bloody lungs out!!!! He certainly has learned how to scream in the last few weeks, BOL

Well, New Mom decided she would come down and visit Old Mom this weekend. She was gonna bring Gemma to play with Quincy so Old Mom asked her to bring me, too. She wanted to see if maybe I would play with Jethro since he was now old enough to need a friend, if not a mother, and those silly toy poodles keep growling at him.
Soo, once I got there old Mom and New Mom first took us all down in the field, even the labs. We played and played and had a blast! As soon as we got back, OM put everyone in their crates EXCEPT me!
I went into the living room with NM and OM and... surprise, there was my Jethro! Mom got him out, I went over and sniffed him, he said he remembered me and I remembered him, so the play time was on!!!
Ya know, I am thinking this is the way to be a mother... birth the babies while you are drugged asleep, go home and relax for 9 weeks while OM stays up all night taking care of him. Then, I come back and babysit him for a bit. This is the fun stuff... race around and play with him, then Mom puts him in his pen, after SHE feeds him and SHE cleans him, BOL. Then, I sit back and get all the compliments about how cute and smart and sweet he is, all because he is MY SON, hehehe!
Anyway, I am planning on spending at least a couple of weeks with him. By then, OM will get sick of me never coming when she calls me (I AM a Frenchie, hehehe)and she will send me back to NM, who will be loving on me cuz she missed me, and she will have forgotten how I never come when she calls me. Sounds like a plan to me!!!

Well, all I can say is it is a darn good thing the world is still here today on this day of armageddon... otherwise, I would not be here to enjoy my Dog of the Day honors, BOL!!!
Thank you HQ and other powers that may be... I am very happy and I am also happy to share honors page with my old friend and bud, Spongie, now Roxie, who is Diary of the Day! Congrats, Roxie!!!
Speaking of sharing, I sure did make New Mom mad the other night. We had some (heck, LOTS) of new fallen snow and it was really pretty out there with all the Christmas lights shining on it. I decided that I needed to take Gemma out for a nice, evening walk to check out those lights.
You would not believe how MAD NM was when she had to get all her Winter clothes on and run down the road to find us. Gemma is a goofy puppy so she raced right up to NM and announced her presence but I, being of a smarter ilk, raced home as fast as I could and welcomed both New Mom and Gemma back when they got there.
For some reason, NM wasn't as thrilled to see me as I might have expected!!!!

Friday my little guy was TWO WEEKS OLD!!! Mom is alternating between thinking he looks wonderful and thinking he really might not survive. I am not sure what her problem is, I think he looks fine! Mom says she was happy that he weighed 10 ounces last week...that is until she used the postage scale at work and he only weighed FIVE ounces. Of course, then she had a fit!!! He should have been around 10 to 14 ounces then.
So, I told her to use BOTH scales...one has got to be right and as long as he is getting heavier on both of them it's fine! So today she weighed him on the old kitchen scale and he was 18 ounces!!!!! That is pretty much normal for two weeks old, BOL! When she did her dog food order this week she got him some Stella & Chewey's premade raw. She thinks he will be eating it by the coming weekend. He is now lapping at things, so he is learning!!
She says he is still VERY strong and alert and demanding! He knows when it is feeding time and won't let Mom forget him. Although, this morning Mom did say she slept THRU the 5 am alarm... he was fine!!
I am not allowed to see him cuz it only upsets him when he can't nurse off me. Because of all the drugs I was taking he wasn't allowed to drink my milk, now it is pretty much all dried up.
I don't mind... Mom is doing fine with him and I can go back to my new home even sooner this way! Mom thought I was going this weekend but turns out, it isn't for TWO MORE WEEKS!
I am okay with that, I have discovered Quincy is a GREAT playmate!!! We stay in the in/out pen during the day when he isn't at daycare and we play and play and play! He is almost as much fun as Toto!!!
Today Mom bought us a turkey... I guess she remembered how much I LOVE turkey!!! She said we can't have it for THREE more days, darn it all!!!

This morning Mom took out my stitches and pronounced me totally cured!!! That is good news!!!
And, she had to take Toto to the vets so she brought my baby up for them to see. The vet glanced over and said, "oh no, a problem???" Mom said, "NOPE, take a look!!!!" Frankly, he was very, very surprised to see how fat and healthy baby boy now appears!!! BOTH his eyes are open now, so he is beginning to look like a dog even!!
I guess Momsie will have to name him pretty soon!
While I was at work Julia was there (no school today???) so Mom had her help with some Christmas photos for me since I am going back to New MOm's this weekend.
Mom won't put it on my page until AFTER Thanksgiving but she did say it was pretty nice!! She wouldn't let me see it so I have no comment.

My baby boy is ten days old today. In honor of that big day, he opened his eyes!!! Mom says he now weighs about 10 ounces, too, which is still a little small but well within the range for a baby Frenchie.
Mom is still feeding him every two hours, except she makes him go THREE hours at night. She said she was getting way too tired!! She finally found an old fashioned latex nipple and that is working pretty well for him. He doesn't have it blow out his nose nearly as much, which makes Momsie feel MUCH BETTER.
Me, I am feeling pretty good, too. Tomorrow I get my stitches out and that will be nice! I still have to take those silly antibiotics and they give me a HUGE tummy ache so I can't enjoy my meals very much. Since I am Mom's little piggy, I do still eat MOST of my dinner though.
Today Mom even let me go down into the lab pen with everyone. It was pretty nice down there...warm and sunny. Not a bad Fall day I must admit. I LOVE Fall days!!!
In honor of the warmth, Mom finally got the last of the storm windows up. I was hoping she would hurry up because New Mom is supposed to come NEXT WEEKEND and pick me up!!! She has some shows so she will spend the night here with Old Mom and I was worried that her bedroom would be too cold for ME to sleep well. Not to worry, ALL the storms are now up in the guest room, whew!

Well, I have pronounced myself cured! Mom isn't so sure, she says I am still coughing like crazy, BUT, I have found my appetite and I did even play with a few of my toys today, at least the ones I could get away from sis Hilda!!!
Mom took me off to work cuz she had to take out my catheter and she wanted to keep an eye on me. Since it was Laurie's day to work she brought Hilda so Mom decided we could share an expen in daycare.
First of all, Hilda stole the big, cushy comforter and left me the regular old dog bed. I worked that out by lying there, shivering, every time Laurie walked by. It worked, next thing I knew I had my own comforter, right in my dog bed, hehehe!!!
Next, Quincy was playing with my favorite toy and Mom and when they got done, Mom tossed it in MY expen for me. Hilda raced over and loomed over it. It was okay, Mom said, "HILL DA"., she immediately left it and I grabbed it and took it in my bed!!!
My baby is still okay, too. Mom was worried cuz he isn't pooping! When she picked up my antibiotics, she took him along and the vet looked at him. He thought the baby was still way too small, which crushed Mom...she thought he looked really good!!! Anyway, Mom decided if he wasn't pooping and the vet thought he was too small, maybe she wasn't giving him enough to eat?? Soo, today she is feeding him every TWO hours instead of every three hours. So far, he has a FAT belly and he's only pooped a tiny, tiny bit. Hmmm.
And, the worse is that he blows milk out his nose almost every time he drinks! Of course, the vet immediately thought he had a cleft palate but Mom had checked that first...his mouth is fine! And, even though the milk comes out his nose he isn't aspirating it, so Mom is now thinking he keeps sucking more than he swallows. Dunno, no milk came out his nose when I fed him!!!
Mom did let me see him today and lick his bottom...she thought maybe I could make him poop. Didn't work, and when I almost bit his tail Mom said that was enough for me.
Hey, I NEVER said I wanted to be a mother!!! That was HER idea!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot... My BEST FRIEND and nephew, Louie, sent me the nicest Lounging jacket today! THANK YOU, Louie!!! He thought I would be lounging with my babies but guess that's not gonna happen. Not to worry, I can still wear it lounging in the living room, watching TV. Mom keeps her house VERY, VERY COLD!!! And, when I go back to NM I will probably need it, too. It is VERY COLD up in Northern NH where we live!!!

This morning Mom took me to the vets. While I was feeling a simdgeon better, I was still not myself and except for some ice cream last night, I have not eaten ANYTHING since Thursday.
Well, the vet found I had bad sounding lungs, especially my right one, and that I was breathing way too fast. I was also dehydrated and had a slight fever. Mom left me there and I have been on an IV all day, with some steroids and some antibiotics to make me feel better.
Mom called to pick me up... they said I COULD go home tonight BUT I have to come right back first thing in the morning for more treatments and fluids. Mom is hoping she can stay awake until it's time to go get me, BOL! They won't let me go until they close at 8 pm.
Meanwhile, my little boy is okay. He is fatter and bigger, but it drives Mom CRAZY to bottle feed him as the milk almost always comes out his nose if he nurses too fast. For some reason, he is not inhaling it into his lungs, thank goodness. Mom says the worst part of baby Frenchies is getting them old enough to eat on their own...she can't wait until that happens with him!!!
She also remembered a few years ago when Ali had Georgie. Remember the little boy Frenchie that came down to be with Ali cuz his Mom had no milk and he kept getting pneumonia??? Ali managed to take good care of him and he did survive and is now a healthy adult. Hopefully, although Ali doesn't have any milk, she will decide to take care of my little boy since I can't. Mom says she was at least sniffing of him last night when he was trying to snuggle with her. We shall see!

Last night Mom left me with my babies. I wasn't feeling good, and I had some sort of an attack and passed out, flat on the floor with a huge THUNK . Mom heard the thunk and got up to help me. She then found my little girl puppy had passed on.
Fortunately, I came to as soon as Mom shook me, but of course, she couldn't leave me with the baby. So, he went off to bed with her, in a box and she is feeding him a bottle.
I am still not feeling good at all, so I am sleeping in my crate. I don't even look for my babies, I don't want to look at anything. Mom is taking me back to the vet tomorrow.
Meanwhile, she is hoping Ali might help her take care of my boy baby. Ali always LOVED puppies and Mom is letting her see him when she feeds him.
Mom wants to remind EVERYONE, breeding dogs is not for the faint of heart!!! In spite of seemingly doing everything right, this has been a most terrible nightmare for both her and me so far.
Sadly, Frenchies are difficult to bottle feed as they tend to aspirate milk into their lungs. Mom is praying and hopes you will pray, too.

Well, we survived the first night!!! Mom was so worried about me and the babies that she wouldn't even leave me with them... they slept in the box and I had to sleep under her desk. It was okay, my belly hurt BAD and I need to rest!
Every hour and a half Mom got up, WOKE ME UP, and put me in the box to feed the babies. I did, they ate good! This morning Mom decided I was okay and awake enough to take care of them myself.
Mom was a BAD foster Mother...she didn't clean my babies and make them go pee pee or poop. Soo, this morning I had to spend HOURS cleaning them! Finally, they are good and they are even getting pudgy already, Mom says usually with us Frenchies and our c-sections that can take several days cuz our milk comes in slowly. Not mine, I have TONS of milk for them!
Well, I gotta go now, time for my after lunch nap with the babies. Mom is taking the others down to the lab pen and I promised I would be good and watch my babies nicely!

Bright and early Mom took me to the vets and LEFT ME THERE!!! I was supposed to have my operation at 7:30, but since Mom left me and I wasn't in any hurry they made ME wait while the vet did some other stuff and some appointments.
Finally, just as Mom had about worn out the phone calling to see if everything was okay, they did me and found THREE puppies instead of the two they were looking for.
Well, after all, Mom DID say she was hoping for a cream male JUST like Lukie, my Daddy, but she was pretty sure that two brindles probably wouldn't have a cream male. The first time they called Mom and told her there were three she asked what they were and they said two boys and a girl. BUT, she didn't ask what color, silly woman.
Anyway, they said to come get me, but then they called back and said I was too cold so I had to stay longer. Mom was still grooming so she said fine, then she called back and asked what colors. They said one cream, two brindle, BUT Mom forgot to ask which was which.
Finally they called and said I could come home! Mom came right up and the minute she saw the cream one she KNEW it was HER Lukie Grandson!! Sure enough, it's MY boy! Mom says his name will be Lincoln, Link for short. The girl is very, very little like me and the other boy is the middle sized one.
I am still pretty wiped and groggy but Mom says the babies are nursing and everything looks good so far. OF course, it will be a LONG night!!! Payback is so fun, hehehe!

It is with a heavy heart and through tears that I report that Lola for some reason just killed her little baby Lincoln. She was acting fine with him, he was nursing and I left for two minutes to check another dog. When I returned he was dying and he died in my hands.
I was not going to write about this, but, sadly, this IS also a part of breeding dogs and it sometimes happens. I have NEVER had it happen before, but I understand these Frenchies do have c-sections and don't have any opportunity to respond to the mothering hormones which are usually released prior to and during whelping. I am sure in her mind she though she knew what she was doing but I will never know.
At this point the pups are alone and I will only allow them to nurse under supervision and see how it goes. Hopefully her maternal instincts will kick in and the other two will be fine.

This weekend Mom made me a nice pen in the living room. It has a box for me and my babies, a nice heating pad AND a hanging heat lamp, and my food and my water, of course. Because I have to pee ALL the time, it also has some pee pads.
I like it cuz I am right in the center of all the attention. Everyone that comes in has to see me and to see me is to love me and to love me is to pet me, BOL!
I have also discovered where I would LIKE to have my babies! Mom has a step from the shed to the back yard near the chickies. It is a nice step and has a nice, hollowed out bottom. I think there is just enough room for me and my babies under that step so I have been working on making it comfy and a bit bigger.
Sadly, Momsie said NO WAY, so every time I go near that step she brings me back into the house.
Mom says I am HUGE and she isn't sure how I can last until my appointment on Friday. We shall see, I guess!!!

Well, Momsie took me up to the vets a bit ago. I was not pregnant looking since I had already digested my dinner and neither Mom nor the vet thought I was preggers, hehehe!
Soo, they decided to do the ultrasound and find out for sure! Instantly, they spied one puppy and its heart was beating away. Then, they saw another one but it was quiet and then I moved so they had to try again. FINALLY, they saw BOTH of them at once and BOTH hearts were beating away and BOTH babies were moving all around like crazy.
Sooo, Mom scheduled my c-section for November 2nd.
The vet thought I must have some sort of irritation that was making me bleed so he gave me some low dose antibiotics that won't hurt my babies.
NOW, Mom will probably let me go out with the other dogs again, I hope!!!!

First, when I came into the house Mom said I wasn't preggers, it must be a false pregnancy. But, since I was pretty heavy instead of just soft fat, she decided to take me up to the vets tomorrow for an ultrasound to make sure.
After I had my supper and Mom let me outside she looked again and said I was DEFINITELY pregnant, no question!!!
But, I do still have that bleeding issue so now Mom is going to take me up to the vets to find out what's up with that. I am certainly NOT sick, I am happy and playful and eating and sleeping and have bright eyes and all that stuff. It is NOT an infection type bleeding, it is bright red, fresh blood only.
Mom says she still thinks I conceived too many puppies and some of them are being aborted. I guess that is certainly possible!!!
Mom won't let me play with ANYONE until the vet says I am okay so for now, I am bored and I have NO NEW PHOTOS!!! Soon, I hope!

New Mom thinks I might NOT be pregnant. You see, I got some sort of a UTI infection, had to take some antibiotics and next thing we knew, I had some discharge with some blood in it, lots of blood.
Old Mom says not to lose all hope! She said sometimes we conceive too many puppies and when it is time for them to adher to our womb, we don't have enough room so some get dumped out. She has had that happen before and it was at the exact time when that happens.
I dunno, but I am not telling either New Mom OR Old Mom!!! New Mom is at dog shows this weekend so I can't come down to visit Old Mom so she can palpate me and see. She says it really doesn't matter...either I am or I am not and we will know before the blessed event occurs. IF I am preggers, I will probably have them on November 4th, so keep that date free!!!
I overheard New Mom talking with Old Mom...it seems that bratty little lab puppy, Gemma, is actually coming to our house on Monday. New Mom is stopping at Old Mom's house and spending the night on Sunday, then she will come home on Monday with Gemma.
I am so not looking forward to that! Gemma will be joining ME in the house until she is bigger. She will be sleeping in MY bed, NOT!!! She better have a bed of her own, BOL!

Sure enough, NM brought me along down to OM's house for the weekend. Some fun, they dumped me in a crate and went over to visit the lab puppies. They came home and took the puppies down to play. Me, I was still in my cage!
Finally, OM let me outside with the others. She had put Riley in the kennel, hehehe! I played with them for a while and OM & NM both decided I could wait another day to meet Darrell.
Sunday morning, as soon as OM got home from work I got to come out with Darrell. I liked him, he liked me and that was that. Back into my crate!!!! Then, OM told NM that I was going out, whatever that means, so NM decided to stay over another night and let me play with Darrell again today.
Sure enough, as soon as OM got home from work I got to play with Darrell. Then, NM took me out, put me in my crate in the car, and we are now headed home.
Some weekend at my old homestead!!! I should have been allowed to go down in the lab pen and play with all my old buddies. I should have had LOTS of new photos for my page and I should have gotten to sleep in NM's bed! NONE of the above happened!!!
OM says IF I am pregnant I can come back and get photos then. Nice, huh?

New Mom and Old Mom were talking today and I guess they have decided to let ME have some babies. I am old enough now, although Old Mom still thinks I am still a baby, silly woman, and I got my testing done, too.
Soo, Old Mom said she wants me to have babies from Darrell and since he is getting older every day (unlike me, I guess???), it has been decided that now is the time.
Soo, when New Mom comes down for the weekend this coming weekend to see her new baby labrador I shall ride along and visit with Darrell and see how it goes.
I am betting Old Mom will make me stay in that stupid kennel cuz Riley still has his equipment and he knows how to climb out of 7 feet high Chain Link fences. Besides, if he can't climb out he just digs under!!! Mom hasn't been worried because all the girls there are spayed but I am NOT spayed and I want Darrell's puppies, NOT Riley's!!!!
Well, gotta go now, it's time for bed and I get to sleep in New Mom's bed! Uh oh, bet Old Mom won't let me sleep in HER bed!!!!!

This weekend I traveled up to Canada again for some dog shows. Unlike Darrell, who got too hot and had to come home, I was very comfy and cool and I finally WON my first point!!! It is a bit easier in Canada cuz they count the boys AND the girls so if there is only one other dog and it's a boy, and I WIN, I still get a point. The last few shows I have been to haven't had any other Frenchies there except one very good Champion, so I have LOST, but today there was ONE boy and I won, I won, I won!!!
Hopefully, I can win again tomorrow and be on a winning streak!!!
Otherwise, I am loving these dog shows. Auntie Jeanne puts me right where lots of people are and they all hold me and love on me. The best part is at the end of the day, though. We ALL go to a motel and sit around and I get all the lovin' from everyone cuz the others have BIG dogs like labs and they are too big to hold.
Well, gotta go, supper time, then I gotta rest up for tomorrow's show!

Friday after work, Mom took me and Toto for a LONG ride. It was very pretty out, kind of cool but bright and sunny and we were driving right thru some mountains so me and Toto were happy to go.
After a long time, we got off the highway and went to a little truck stop. HEY, New Mom was sitting there, in our car, waiting for me!!! She and Old Mom went in and had dinner, then I got in the car with her and went for another long ride.
Mom and I thought I had a show this past weekend, but we were mistaken, it is NEXT weekend. That must be why I couldn't stay for the camping jamboree, I guess. I was so looking forward to playing with my Louie again.
I will bet that Mom will dig out ALL those little colored balls with the faces on them and let all those guys play with them. She hid them ALL before I came for my visit since I like to swallow them, hehehe!
Hey, our house up here is all fixed up with new walls, ceilings and floors. New Mom said it was a rough way to get some redecorating done, but, done it is!! Hope the furnace is really fixed so it doesn't flood again!!
Well, I gotta go now, I get to sleep with New Mom instead of in a crate like at old Mom's home. MUCH nicer... soft, comfy, and NO CRATE!!!

Well, so far, at least, my visit is going very well. I have been having a GREAT time playing in the lab pen with everyone, except so far, Mom hasn't let me go down there with Grampy Jones and sis Hilda...maybe today???
I did hear that Beanie and Toto and Ali are going kayaking. Why not ME, I ask??? I am sure Mom has some stupid reason, sun bleached show coat, too hot, too cold, who know what she comes up with???
Oh well, maybe I wouldn't even LIKE kayaking!!!
I just found out that I am going to miss the big camping jamboree here with Louie and Nina. I have to go to some shows that weekend so I have to go home on the Wednesday BEFORE. Darn it, I was really looking forward to some fun with Louie!!!
HEY, did I tell you that Old Mom got some chickens since I was here last??? Man, are those things fun to chase. The only problem is that now Toto spends ALL his time trying to get the chickens and he hardly ever plays with me at all!!!
Yesterday Tanner was here and I guess he forgot that he is afraid of me... we played quite a bit. Actually, in those photos of me playing with, (KILLING), that stuffed pink poodle I was pretending it was Tanner, hehehe!!!

Yup, this weekend I will be arriving to stay for a couple of weeks. Remember I said the furnace broke while we were in Canada??? Well, it seems it flooded EVERYTHING and now there are workers in the house tearing out all the walls and carpets and floors and stuff and treating the whole house for mold and mildew.
New Mom says it is not safe for me in there and since I have some more shows in a few weeks she thinks the safest place for me is back visiting Old Mom while the house gets fixed. Now Old Mom is worrying about Grampy Jones scarring me or something cuz I have those shows to go to. He did like to pick on me, but I picked right back, hehehe!
Fortunately, he is all better from his bad eye surgery so that won't be a problem. In fact, I bet Mom will get some photos of him and me and sis Hilda all playing in the lab pen. Hey, I can bring the labs cuz new Mom has lots of them, BOL!

Hey, everypup... this weekend was my very, very first dog show weekend and I WON on the first day!!!! I got my very first point, too! I didn't win yesterday cuz I guess the judge liked bigger girls. Both Mom and my new Mom like me just the way I am though, so it doesn't matter! Mom says if we all liked exactly the same things in our dogs it would be a very, very boring dog show!
BTW, did I say we went way up to Canada for these shows??? Neat!
Problem was, when me and new Mom got home the whole house was flooded! Yup, it's true, the furnace broke and water kept coming out of all the radiators and since we were gone, we didn't know and couldn't shut it off. And, it wasn't even cold!!!
So, now I am sitting in my crate waiting for the furnace man to come fix it. Catch ya later!!!

Today new Mom and I went for a ride in the car. Nothing unusual about that, it happens lots.
But, this was a long ride and, I swear, it was the way we came when new Mom got me from old Mom. But, we stopped at a restaurant and new Mom got out and left me. After a while, she came back and got me and took me for pee pees. Suddenly, I heard what sounded like old Mom, calling my name. I reacted as I always did, I looked the other way and watched another dog walk by, hehehe.
Next, old Mom took me over to new Mom's car and...there was my best buddy, Toto!!!! I gave him a huge paws up greeting, then old Mom put me in a crate.
Finally, we got home and me and Toto went in the house and right out into my old pen. YEAH...NOW I knew where I was!!!
Amazingly, old Mom took us all down in the lab pen and we all got re-acquainted. I also met Zena, the warrior princess. She seemed pretty meek to me!
I had a pretty good time running around, would you believe there is GRASS showing all over the pen??? Almost all the snow is GONE!
Anyway, old Mom put some NEW photos on my page. It seems I'm staying here for a few weeks cuz new Mom is vacationing, then judging a dog show in some place warm. Hey, did I tell you I went off to a dog show with her, but she was judging so I couldn't show. It was fun, though!

Have you guys missed me?? Well, last Saturday I went off to my new home. I am now living with Alfie's breeder, Mom's lab friend.
I am her first small dog and it is interesting!!! While Mom often describes us as acting like lab puppies, my new Mom is finding out I am different, too. For example, no lab has EVER been as stubborn as me, BOL!!
However, true to my lab heritage (do I HAVE any lab heritage???), I find and EAT anything and everything she leaves within my reach. Pistashios can be tasty, IF you can get that hard part off, BOL! And, I like pieces of bread and stuff I find under the table. Mom NEVER eats at her table so it was pretty empty under there.
I now live way up North in NH and trust me, it is COLD and snowy up here. Those labs LOVE it, they have runs that go out into huge yards and they stay out there all day long. Not me, I stay in the heated part until my new Mom gets home from work and brings me back in the house.
A warm bed is nicer than any old heated kennel, trust me! And, new Mom has a couch in her living room so we can snuggle and watch TV every evening. Old Mom has NO soft furniture in her living room, only dog beds, BOL.
Well, gotta go now, new Mom is teaching me how to be a show dog and we are gonna go take on the other Frenchies. First we're going to Canada...I have NEVER been there!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everypup!

Well, it got pretty warm today and by the time Mom got around to taking us out to play in the lab pen lots and lots of the snow was gone. But, that left is really wet and messy...I found that out when I was chasing Toto. He was kicking wet slush all over me. I am really NOT that fond of snow, I guess.
Otherwise, it was pretty nice out there. Mom found a Christmas neckerchief and put it on ME. It was fine except TWO problems happened while I was wearing it.
The first was that it gave Toto and Beanie a better target while they were chasing me. One would grab each side of it and take off in different directions with me stuck in the middle. Fortunately, I do outweigh Beanie by about 15 lbs, (or more), so I was able to hold my own, and, in fact, I even outweigh Toto by about 5 lbs or so.
The other problem was that it was a bit too big and every once in a while I would step on the corner of it and trip over myself, BOL. Sadly, it was usually when I was in the muddiest section of the field and I ended up taking a header each time. grrrrrr.
Tonight Mom let us hang out in the house again...oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, Jones got put back in the kennel. Momsie was too cold with our flappy in/out door and, some boarding dogs canceled when the snow came so there was room for him back in the kennel so he only stayed inside about two nights. I MUCH rather be a house dog... there is way, way more stuff to get into in the house, BOL.
Well, speaking of, I see a few lights from that Christmas tree poking thru that expen Mom put around it. I gotta go tug them and see if the whole tree will fall down, hehehe!

Well, it's a good thing I enjoyed my house freedom while I had it. Today Mom brought Grampa Jones home again and now he and I are stuck in that stupid indoor/outdoor pen again.
Mom says it's only temporary. Next week is Thanksgiving and the boarding kennel is full so she needs his run for a boarding dog. Normally, she would make him stay in an expen over there but since it is still pretty warm and supposed to stay warm for a while she decided WE could stay in the puppy pen instead.
Hmmm, next thing you know, Darrell will be home, too. He can't stay here in the Winter because he gets out of all the pens except one and Mom opens them all together in the Winter so the gates won't freeze shut.
Oh yeah, Thomas is over there, too, cuz he and Toto do not like each other and since there is only one outside pen, they can't go out together. He will get to stay over there though because he is sharing the inside daycare pen with Pinki's sisters Coco and Pixie, both of them are boarding for the holiday and he likes them and they like him so Mom puts them in that pen. Both Pinki's sisters like to mess inside in the kennel and finger paint with it, like Pinki, and they are clean in that pen, so Mom leaves them there instead of in a run.
At least I proved myself good in the house so I don't have to worry about going to the kennel for the Winter, BOL. Mom says, while I am not neat and good like a poodle, I am not terrible. I only chew on the baby gates, NOT the furniture like the labs used to, hehehe, and I always poop on the tiled floor, not the rugs, and I only do it ONCE each evening. Hey, can I help that????? NOPE!

As bad as last Sunday was with all that terrible, freezing, cold, deep, wet, etc., snow, this Sunday was as good as it gets! Us Frenchies do not prefer when it is too warm...we mostly like cool, crisp temperatures with NO humidity and yet still plenty of warm sunshine to bask in.
Today was one of those days...it was about 50 degrees, sunny, bright, but crisp. Hilda and I had a great time down in the lab pen racing all around. No bugs, no heat and no humidity, and, best of all, NO SNOW!!!!
We had fun with Julia, but I am not really sure she is a fan of Frenchies... she prefers quiet breathing and lithe athleticism... neither are true Frenchie traits, BOL! More suited to those poodles and cresteds.
She did give it the old college try... she held me for a while BUT, when I began squirming and snorting she quickly put me back on the ground.
And, she took a great photo of me chewing on that plastic tent stake we found down there...Toto's so called toothpick! When she and Mom were working up the photos she was grossed out my all the drool around my mouth and wouldn't even look at my photo.... hehehe! Her loss, I say!!!!

Hey, I am a diary pick today!!! Neat, huh?
First, about that costume contest. I went over and did my time. Actually, Julie brought me over and said I would make an excellent pig. (Thanks, Julie!) I wore that silly pink pig costume and walked around snorting and eating lots so I would look fatter.
I didn't win ANYTHING!! Julie said it was cuz I was taken in by her and she works for Mom. Mom said she read the judges score sheets and they said I was cute but my costume lacked originality. Yup... that it did, BOL!
Then, this morning when we got up there was snow all over everything. Sometimes I do not mind snow, especially when it is drier and the bigger guys have made the paths already.
But, this morning it was really, really deep and really, really wet and cold. And, I went out with everyone else so there were no paths made yet. I found it very cold and very disturbing to think there is going to be about FIVE more months of this stuff.
Maybe I will be moving to Florida???

I went along over to work with Mom this morning so as to get my bath before the big event tomorrow. I was racing around the kennel, finding everything I could get my mouth on and generally having a great time with Tanner and Crystal.
Well, suddenly Sarah asked Mom what that orange thing was on my bed. Mom looked and about had a hissy fit!!!!! She ran into the pen and grabbed it, gagging all the while.
Turns out, it was my little colored ball with the face on it, BOL! Apparently, Mom didn't notice that I DID swallow it after that photo last week, the one up on my page with it shoved in my mouth. Mom was worried, and usually takes them away from me, but she missed that one, BOL!
Anyway, after sitting in my stomach for over a week it had grown way big, like HUGE, cuz the latex got all soft and fat in my stomach acid. And, the little colored face paint got all eaten off.
Mom said it was the most gross thing she has EVER seen, but she is extremely happy it came up since she didn't even know it was down, BOL!!!
She says I saved her a fortune in vet bills.
BTW.... I had NO SYMPTOMS of being sick at all!!!!

While Mom and Susie were so excited to see Beanie on TV tonight, they didn't even know that I was on TV myself, the other night.
Just because they did not see me doesn't mean I wasn't there! And, now they KNOW I was on TV because when they went to see Beanie's photo in the gallery of "Hot Picks", there I was, right up front, smiling away in my little pumpkin photo.
Mom says she was wondering why my views number had jumped so much. Now she knows that is because I was viewed on TV.
Funny how Beanie was the only important one because they actually SAW his photo on TV themselves!!
Doesn't seem too fair to me!

It's Fall now and getting colder so Mom won't let me and Grampy Jones stay in the pen with the doggy door cuz she says it is way too cold with that door flapping in the breezes.
Grampy Jones goes over to work and stays there all Winter but Mom said I didn't have to because I am neat and clean and do not pee or poop in my crate like he does. Sooo, since I have no pen partner for the daytimes, I am now part of the house dog group.
And, a group we are!!! Mom says she must be totally insane. There is Toto and Ali and Beanie and Harvey and Pinki and Crystal and Barney and Tanner and Riley and Georgie and ME!!! Mom says she gets totally dizzy in the evening watching us all zoom around the house, BOL!
We are mostly pretty good. We have a HUGE old oaken bucket full of toys and three HUGE dog beds and three small ones and everyone grabs a toy and we play with those and chase Smokey cat around. He can jump over the gate into the bedroom, so he always wins that chase!
The only one that is bad is Tanner. For some reason he thinks he is better than all of us are and he growls at us if we even get near the bed he is in. Mom speaks to him and then he gets mad at us and jumps on us. None of us are afraid of him so we just turn around really fast and meet him head on and he runs screaming to Mom. Poor boy!

Hey, I am writing a group diary entry for myself and my pals Riley and Barney and Lola.
It was a big weekend here and we did not get invited at all to ANY of the festivities!!! We did get to run around down in the lab pen on Friday whilst Mom was setting everything up, but that was actually WORSE than normal cuz she had stuff spread out all over and we had to dodge everything.
As soon as the guests came Mom plunked us back in the house yard and we actually had to WATCH them playing down there.
Being the oldest, yeah, me, Pinki, I am the oldest, anyway, being the oldest I told the little ones not to worry, Mom would probably let us down there later when it was time to sleep.
They were all mad at me when she instead came up and put us in our sleeping crates!!!
In the morning they (the people) all came up to the house and Tanner and Crystal got put in their crates, too! Everyone else went off for a day of kayaking on the pond.
DARN IT ALL... it just doesn't seem right!
Anyway, we are now all planning our revenge. We are not sure what the plan will be, but it will certainly NOT be as enjoyable for them as it will be for us!
When we figure it out, we will let you all know so you can laugh at them, too!!!!

Tonight it was finally cool enough so Mom let me go down to the lab pen and play with the poodles again. (And the cresteds, too, BOL)
I had a pretty good time except for a couple of things. First of all, that silly Tanner was confused and couldn't remember if he was supposed to like me or not like me. He would run up to me, then if I even slightly moved toward him he would instantly race away, all ascarded of me.
Of course, when he did that I was forced to chase him, bol! Well, whenever anyone starts a game of chase down there Barney instantly gets involved. I have NEVER seen any dog run as much as he does. He runs so fast that his legs go every which way, BOL! Of course, when Barney starts running, Beanie has to join in and he also has to do his arooooo bark so next thing you know, we are all chasing poor Tanner!
Poor Tanner got so frightened that he would instantly fall to the ground and we would all race right over him. He would just jump back up and join in the chase. Now, who are we chasing????
Anyway, when Tanner was in the back of the pack, he would charge up and grab my neck! I had to stop and face him, at which time he was ascared again and the whole chase starts over again, and over again, and over again, get it?
My other issue was Riley. For some reason, he decided I must be in heat and his duty was to breed me! Trust me, I AM NOT in heat so I was not putting up with his attempts to jump on me! I actually lured him over to the pool and then when I jumped in, he ended up going head over heels right into the water, BOL. Pretty funny, I thought!
Finally, he was so obnoxious that Mom picked him up and made him sit with her for the whole rest of the time we were down there. He didn't seem to mind, he just got comfy and settled down in her lap. Maybe it had something to do with that mosquito repeller she had on the back of her chair???
Me, I don't need no mosquito repeller... I just ran so fast they couldn't catch me, hehehe!

Well, sure enough, along came Louie and Nina. And, I got to go down and play with them. Louie was acting just like he had never been away. First thing he did was steal my little colored ball with the face on it!!!
Then, he helped me pick on Taylor for a while... there is just something about her that bugs us!!! Probably it is because every time we even look at her she roars and throws herself at us. That gets old mighty fast! In fact, once Louie even fought back with her but he got yelled at and threatened with his crate, BOL! Me, I just ran over and jumped in the blue pool for a cool down of my own, hehehe!
I was sad that Louie and I couldn't go kayaking but Mom said it was too warm for us. I don't know about that, I wasn't too hot. I think they just didn't want to mess with me in the kayak, BOL.
I did not get to sleep in the tent...Mom said she needed her sleep! In fact, she put me and Grampy Jones in crates instead of out in our in/out pen with the doggy door cuz she said we would bark too much at them down in the tent. Us, bark??? Never!!!
All in all, it was a nice visit with my old friend Louie, but I was glad when he went HOME to Maine. I was very tired!!!
Hey, Mom gave me new photos but Dogster won't let her put them at the front so you will have to go to the end to see them. Sorry!

Mom says they will go kayaking, too. Maybe I can convince her to take me along as well.
I did write a HUGE diary about being home from the kennel but the dogster servers chewed it up and spit it back out, all garbled. I sure hope they don't eat this one, too, BOL!!!!
Anyway, the kennel was okay, but home is way more than okay! So far, although I have been home since Sunday, I haven't gotten to go run in the lab pen. It's been too hot and tonight it's pouring rain.
But the weekend is supposed to be great so maybe I can play then with Louie!!!!

Harumph... I just get growed up and I find myself in prison!! Guess growing up means that heat thing, huh?
Oh well, cuz I am nice and don't climb out of my pen like Riley, I get to stay in an expen in the daycare room. It is much nicer than the kennel cuz everyone that comes visits with me. And, Mom lets me go outside with Piper and Bubbles.
But, I would sure rather be at home in my nice pen with Grampa Jones. We got to go outside whenever we wanted to, and I was sitting right there to remind Mom to take me down to the lab pen with the others.
Over here it is kind of out of sight, out of mind, I think cuz I hear those other guys running and playing down in that pen.
Mom says I only have to stay in here for about three weeks. THREE WEEKS????? That is a HUGE long time, I think!!! Summer will be over in three weeks.
Hey, Mom said maybe she will take me to a dog show in August. She is taking Grampa Jones and Darrell and she said maybe I could tag along. I am old enough now and almost all of my sunburned coat is gone. And, all my hot spots and bug bites are healing and if I am in prison, no bugs can bite me and no sun can burn my coat, right?
Gee, I hope I can go!!!

Hey, everypup. Today is MY birthday! I was born one year ago, one of three little girls and one little boy. My daddy was Lukie, and I am cute and photogenic like he was.
For my birthday Mom was gonna take me down to the lab pen to play, but it was too hot so she said I can go tomorrow instead, IF it's cooler.
I did get a bully sick of my very, very own, but MOm had to watch me while I ate it, bol! I guess she wanted it, too, so she wanted to make sure I didn't leave any pieces???
When Mom got home from her trip yesterday she was feeding us cuz it was late. Right in the middle of eating my supper I had to stop and give Mom some extra sniffs... you see, I SWEAR, I could smell Louie on her!!! I was all excited and Mom was laughing at me. She could have taken me ya know, it would have been a nice birthday present, don't ya think???? Maybe next time???

It's been pretty cold around here this week. In my case, this is a good thing cuz Mom lets me out to play in the lab pen way more with the other guys.
I am sort of like the black sheep... they are all somewhat afraid of me, because I don't stay with them all the time in the house. I stay with my Grampy Jones in the in/out pen cuz Mom says I am a dirty dog IF I have to be in a crate at night. So, if I am just racing around, they don't have any issues with me but if they have something I want, I just stand my ground and they all fall to pieces. Well, all except Taylor.
That little piece of fluff has NEVER liked me at all, since the first day I came here and met her. If she thinks she can get away with it, she will jump on me and try to bite me.
Me, I am a lover, not a fighter, so I just ignore her, which makes her even madder, so she attacks even more until finally Mom tells her to knock it off. Hehehehe!!!!
Anyway, tonight it was cool and very, very wet so I got to go play with all the others. We all ran and ran and ran cuz we have been stuck in the house for the whole week due to the rain.
Grampy Jones and I went out with Hilda last night, but Grampy grabbed Smokey on the way out so Mom was mad and made our trip a little short so she could make sure Smokey was okay. OF COURSE, he was okay!!! He has all that thick coat to protect him.
Speaking of coat, Mom says I could use a bit more coat cuz she was noticing I have a few bald spots from the tricky ticks getting on me. I have a problem with them cuz I am low to the ground. If my coat was thicker they wouldn't want to bite me, they would go to those fluffy poodles instead.

Mom says all at once, all of her dogs are falling apart! I decided to go along with everyone and I got a HUGE hotspot under my ear. Mom didn't even notice it until she took me down into the field tonight. I would have gotten away with it, but when I jumped out of the pool the water made it itch so I was scratching it and it hurt so I cried a bit. Immediately, Mom called me over to her and picked me up and checked it out. She said on a scale of 1 to 10, it's an eleven!!!
Mom says it must be from me scratching one of those black fly bites. I'm not telling.
So, of course she took me RIGHT home and slathered medicine all over it. Grandpa Jones licked all the medicine right off, so I guess it was a wasted effort, BOL.
I don't understand why I had to come right home... it was perfectly fine while I was playing BEFORE Mom noticed it.
Oh well, at least I got a little time down there. I was getting a bit warm so I guess it was time to come home, anyway. Besides, Toto wouldn't let me have the little ball with the colored face on it and Mom still can't find the bag with the new ones.

Well, even though I haven't written any diaries lately, I have still been playing!!! Usually Mom takes us Frenchies when it's almost dark cuz it's cooler then. Today it was cloudy and there was a brisk breeze blowing so we got to go early! Grampa Jones is getting a bit better about playing with me...he doesn't just immediately search for a way out of the lab pen like he used to. And, Mom discovered he is the best of ALL of us dogs about coming instantly when she calls him.
Anyway, I discovered that Mom had gotten out our blue swimming pool. Gosh, I LOVE that pool, especially when there is a stick or some balls in it. If there aren't any of those I can always find a leaf or something down on the bottom. I had a great time playing in it, but I couldn't convince Hilda or Gramps to join me. Hilda was all talk about a "real" swimming pool at her other house with clear, clorinated water and real inflatable rafts to lie on. Blah, blah, blah... if it's so perfect then why is she here, I ask???? I am perfectly happy with what I got!
Although she was a bit hoity toity today, she did realize that the only one down there to play with was ME, so she finally had to lower herself to play with me. Big sisters can be soooo awful!!!
Meanwhile, Gramps was pretty interested in the pool, but he was SURE he was going to have a bath in there so he just jumped in and right back out. Mom says he turns into a basketball when she tries to bathe him so I was hoping to see that happen. Basketballs are FUN to play with!!!

Tonight we finally got to go play in the lab pen again. Mom was late yesterday cuz Susie came so we couldn't go and Sunday it was too hot for me. Tonight was PERFECT, except the black flies were eating my ears!!!
I went along down with the toys and the cresteds. Ya know, that Taylor does NOT like me at all... she keeps jumping in the middle of my back and thinking she is going to beat me up. Not me, I just let her jump... I outweigh her two to one or maybe even three to one!
She does annoy me, however, when she gets one of those colored balls with the face on them and tosses it around and won't let me have it!!! That is just plain MEAN!!!
Hey, Louie, I miss you!!! Your dad doesn't squabble with me like you did, but everytime anything happens like Mom letting some of us out or something, he jumps on me and tries to breed me. He is VERY HEAVY!!! Mom yells, but he keeps doing it. Maybe some day he will get the message that it is NOT OKAY to do that to me??? Meanwhile, I just fall completely flat and he has to get off me, hehehe!
Anyway, in spite of Taylor and grampa Jones, I did have a nice time outside tonight and hope we can do it again tomorrow cuz Mom gets out early!

Hey, did anyone notice I was a diary pick today??? Nope??? I didn't, EITHER!
Mom just remembered to tell me that she got the email about it hours and hours and hours ago... like FIFTEEN hours ago.
Nice Mom!
I might have enjoyed my day had I known I was picked, but no, she didn't tell me about it until the whole day is over and it's bed time!!!
And... it has been very hot and very humid around here the last few days. Silly Mom shut the door to our room this morning when she went to work. Did she open a window or anything like that??? NO, she didn't.
When she got home and opened the door to our room the heat and humidity hit her right in the face!! (and, the DOG PEE smell, cuz MY grandpa Jones was mad and was gonna teach her a lesson).
Well, she decided it was past open window time so she dragged in the AC and put it in the window, then cleaned our whole room.
I suspect we shall freeze to death when the front rolls thru tonight. Right now it is still in the high sixties but it's supposed to get COLD and WINDY later.
AC in APRIL???? Mom said she has NEVER heard of such a thing ever before up here in NH. Furnace, yes, AC NEVER!!!

This morning, bright and early, Mom came in and got Louie. She put ME in my crate and he got to go out in the main house with some people that were here. Not fair. But... he didn't come back, so I guess he did go to Maine to live with them.
Mom didn't want me to be all alone over here in my in/out pen so she brought Grampa Jones home from work. Later, he and I and Hilda went down into the lab pen to hunt for Easter Eggs. I don't think Gramps found any, he was more interested in trying to breed me and Hilda, silly boy!! Then, when he realized we were not going to allow him to do that, he spent the rest of the time trying to find holes in the fence. Mom told him if he kept doing that she wouldn't bring him down there anymore. She said I could go with the toys OR the Cresteds. I am fine with them, it was Louie who had issues.
Grampa Jones is Louie's father and my Grandfather. Because he is Louie's father, Louie is a lot like him! He is pretty noisy...he barks at all the little beeps and buzzers and stuff. Mom says it's really bad if the power goes off cuz his favorite thing to bark at is the beep on the battery backup for the computer.
Personally, I thought EVERYTHING was his favorite thing to bark at, BOL!!!

I had almost finished writing a great diary entry and something bad happened. My little outside toe hit a wrong key, the whole entry turned highlighted and blue and whammo, it suddenly disappeared and all that was left was a lower case t. Can you imagine???
I called to Mom and she came and tried all the keys but she couldn't make it come back.
Now I am mad and I am not going to write it again, at least not tonight.
Sorry, but I will say, it was a very nice diary entry!!!

Gee, here we have been waiting all Winter for the nice warm weather to come and, when it finally does, Mom won't let us out to play in it!!!
Take today, for example. She gets out of work at noon, so she decides to let the dogs all play in the lab pen BEFORE she cleans the house. When is the hottest part of the day??? It's right around noonish when the sun is high in the sky and shining into the whole lab pen.
Well, first she took the cresteds and the mini poodles. They ran for a while, then they were all panting and wanting to lie around in the shade. Meanwhile, me and Louie were racing back and forth along the fence, mad cuz we weren't down there with them. We were panting, too!
Next, Mom took the toys. Once again, Louie and I had to race along the fence, barking our displeasure at being stuck up here in the shade. Wow, it WAS getting a bit warm!
Finally, Mom brought the toys back inside and went to get us out. Both me and Louie were lying belly down on the cool floor, panting and panting.
Mom decided that in the interest of our health, being as we have NO noses to cool the air we breathe, we should wait and go down there later when it was shady and cooler.
Remember when I said the heat of the day was at noon? I lied... as the day goes on the ground and everything warms up and... the heat of the day is MUCH later.
Louie and I decided to wait until tomorrow to play down there. We will go FIRST, before we race along the fence and get all worn out!

Gee, I just realized it has been a long time since I wrote a diary. It was hard to tell... just like in my last diary entry we are sitting here after a Sunday afternoon run, listening to the weather person telling about a snow storm coming tomorrow. He says it won't be bad... that is pretty scary cuz last Friday he said we were getting 15 to 18 inches here and we got about TWO!!!! Hope he's not wrong again tomorrow cuz we will probably get the other 13 to 17 that was missing on Friday.
Mom is hoping it's okay tomorrow cuz it is job shadow day at the local school and three of them are coming here to shadow her and Julie and Sarah. Gee, maybe Mom will let me come to work so I can entertain them with some pranks. Dad Lukie used to be really good at that and I am sure I could take over for him.
Hey, Louie has a NEW HOME!!! He is leaving in a few weeks, I guess. Maybe Mom will bring Grampy Jones home to stay in my indoor/outdoor pen with me OR maybe I can stay with the toys??? Either way is fine with me, except Taylor keeps trying to start a fight with me. Hey, I am twice the size of her...guess I could hold my own if I had to!
Speaking of fighting...for some reason Mom left Beanie out in the lab pen with me and Louie today. Beanie was trying to steal MY ball with the face on it so Big Louie marched over and gave him the "lean my big Frenchie head over your neck" posture. Beanie didn't get the message so Big Lou had to jump on him and push him down to the ground and sit on him. I watched, hehehe! Beanie didn't think he was so special after Mom had to rescue him, that's for sure. I laughed and laughed and laughed!!! I will certainly miss that big lug of a dog!!!

We went back down to the lab pen on Sunday and had a ton more fun in the sun! I got to play with Louie first, then I went back down with the toys. I am almost as pupular as Beanie, hehehe! We were loving the bare ground, but, alas, it snowed all day on Tuesday and now the ground is white again and it's cold again. Mom said it is gonna snow tomorrow night, too!
Mom did find a cable for the big monitor but she discovered that the video card in the laptop is fine for the laptop, but is sorely lacking when it has to put the image up on the huge regular monitor. She said it was woefully inadequate, I believe those were her own words!!
It shouldn't be too long before she gets the regular computer back. It kept shutting itself off and restarting, which was driving Mom crazy!!! The computer man took it away and said it was fine and it must be a software issue cuz it didn't crash at his house at all. Well, it got worse and worse and finally shut off FIVE times in less than an hour so he took it back. He said it was shutting off all the time for him now! That was good cuz Mom said she was thinking she was going crazy! He has inspected all the obvious stuff and replaced the power unit, now he is working on the memory being bad. Strange cuz when it first came 8 gbs of the original memory was bad and had to be sent back. Ah well, soon enough it will be back, I hope!!!
Well, gotta go out now with Grandpa Jones. He is back to the house for the Summer. I LOVE playing with him, but... he and Louie do not like each other AND, he is really anxious to kill Smokey the cat. (yes, kill, not just injure). Mom yells and makes Smokey run the other way. Good think Smokey is faster than Gramps!!!!

Boy is Louie getting mad at me, hehehe! I got another diary pick today and he didn't.
Of course, Mother forgot to tell me I was picked again... she tends to do that when it's MY pick. It's okay, I got a nice note from some of my friends and they told me about it!
Today Mom let me go down in the lab pen with the toy poodles. I was pretty surprised since she's never done that before. We were all sooo good that she went and got Louie and took us back down there again. This time Riley was being a bit "bitchy" so Mom made him stay in his crate. I would say that was a smart move... when I first went down there he actually tried to push me off the wall so he could grab my ball. He tried and tried to catch me but it didn't work. Yeah, I was surprised, too, since I am short and fat and he is much more athletic! Oh well, better luck next time, Riley!
Mom says the photos aren't her best since she is working on the laptop again. It's really hard for her to figure out the light and color balances on that after using her HUGE regular monitor. Since the big puter is broken still she says she is going to try to find a cable so she can use the big monitor with the laptop. Don't anyone hold their breath!!!

I was feeling a bit green and I begged Mom to change my photo. Finally, she did! I do like the new one better, it appears to be a bit more creative.
Tonight after work we, as in me and Louie, got to go play in the lab pen. We were pretty excited cuz it was nice and warm and sunny today. Well, the anticipation was more exciting than the actual in this case!!! Since it was nice and warm and sunny today all that snow in the field has melted into what Mom used to call corn snow. It is all icy and granular and it breaks away the minute we step on it. Where the paths were, it will still hold us, BUT it's almost impossible to see what are the paths and what are not.
We did make the best of it! I discovered that it was pretty well melted down up against the fence so I followed the fence and went exploring. My new photo doesn't look like much, but IF you were there, you would know that the swimming pool was completely under the snow until I walked near it. I, of course, fell thru all along the edges and now you can see the pool!!!
Meanwhile, Louie was doing what Louie does best... sucking up to Mom and trying to get her to hold him and baby him. He was all disappointed cuz she grabbed the long telephoto lens and couldn't get his picture cuz he was too close to her. He could have backed up a bit, but, that would have meant he would have to get further away from Mom, so he settled for no photos!
Hey, I had a BAD infection in my ear. For the last month or so Mom tried all her home remedies and none of them worked so finally she got some "real" medicine from the vet on Wednesday... it's been less than a week and it's totally cured now!! She is treating it for the whole seven days prescribed so she doesn't create a super infection in my ear!!! The reason I mention it is that my ears look a little greasy in the new photos cuz Mom puts the stuff in my ears after I eat my supper and we had our supper before we ran down in the lab pen tonight.
Well, I gotta go. Now me and Louie are exploring all the melted down places in our big outside pen. You never know what might show up under all that snow!!!

This afternoon Mom took me and Louie down into the lab field. First of all, the prank was on me cuz I saw something very wrong in the corner of the field and I had to bark and bark and bark at it. Mom and Louie were just laughing at me so I decided to stop barking and go see what that object was. Ah, gee, it was only Mom's red chair... someone had moved it, I think!!
After that little mistake, I decided to go do my own thing instead of hang around near Mom and the camera. Suddenly, I noticed Mom had tossed her glove over to Louie so I immediately booked it back over to help him catch the glove. Well, somehow, someway, I slipped as I took off and suddenly had a panic knowing I was gonna fall flat on my face. Mom of course was right there with her camera and recording all the expressions of fear and disbelief on my face. Grrrrr.
It was okay... I really got Louie! He took a real header as he was chasing the glove and landed flat on his back. He thought he was safe cuz he immediately rolled over and righted himself, but, not before Mom snapped his faux pas for posterity. I even convinced her to let me put it on MY page, hehehe. Wait until Louie finds out that a: She got his photo while he was down and b: It is on MY page!! I am getting to be SUCH a great prankster... dad Lukie would be so proud of me!!!

Mom told me that my mommy Tula is going to dog shows now. Her first ones were last weekend and she learned the ropes. In fact, she learned the ropes so well that today she won a FIVE POINT major!!! 5 points is the most you can win at any show and that means she is now 1/3 of the way to becoming a champion. I am sooo proud of her, and Mom says Grandpa Jones is really proud of her, too!!!
Mom said it must have been a good day for dog shows because, at the same show, Chaz's daughter (and Mom's granddaughter, hehehe) won a FOUR point major and finished her championship! She is just 10 months old!!!
I wish I could have been at that show, too, but, if I was, I couldn't have won cuz my mommy Tula won... or, maybe I would have beaten her????? I can dream, right?
Mom says my body is almost ready to go to a dog show but my mind isn't. I don't think that is a nice thing for her to say!!! I may have to come up with another prank just for that!

Today we went down into the field for a long, long time! Me and Louie played and played and I explored the whole field while he was sucking up to Mom. She pranked him, though, cuz she didn't have her wide angle lens and she couldn't take any closeups of him, hehehe!
Anyway, when it was time to go back home I hid over in the bushes and Mom got all riled up. She thinks we could break out of that pen so she gets a little neurotic if she can't find us. Well, I did let her know where I was, but it gave me a GREAT IDEA for a prank.
When we got back to the house Mom left us outside so she could finish cleaning our room. Well, I decided I would hide and scare her, hehehe!
Sure enough, after she was finished cleaning she came to call us inside. I was hiding over behind that dog house of Crystals... no way could Mom see me from where I was, hehehe! I kept hiding and she kept calling. Finally, she sounded a bit worried but she said, "Okay, guess Louie can eat your dinner tonight."
Man oh man, I ran out of my hiding place soo fast the snow was flying behind my heels!!!! Soo, who was the prank on, me or her???

Hey, everyone, I want to wish you all a Happy Valentine's day! All the rest of my family are probably bragging about how much fun we had playing in the field today and not even thinking about how Monday is Valentine's day.
Of course, I have never had a Valentine so I guess I really don't know what Valentine's day is??? Are you supposed to play tricks? I bet not cuz I am sure my daddy Lukie would have written me a note from the bridge and told me about that...he is trying to make sure I follow the family pranking!
Speaking of, I really had nothing to do with either of these pranks, Mother Nature did them both. (HEY, do you suppose that was Daddy Lukie doing it from above????) Anyway, let me tell you about the pranks... first of all, I was chewing on a branch I found over in the corner and along came Louie to chew with me. Well, Mom called us, of course I didn't listen and come but Louie ran as fast as he could over to Mom. He ran SO FAST that he crashed right through the crust and sunk in the deep snow, hehehe!!! Fortunately, Mom was right there to record it with the camera. She put it on MY page so everyone could see me laughing at Louie, hehehe!
The other one wasn't quite so funny. We were running down the path and Louie spied a nice big piece of fresh, green grass so he grabbed it to gobble it down. It was a huge piece of lichen blown down from the maple tree, hehehe! He thought he was going to get the first bite of fresh, Spring greens, but all he got was a mouthful of fungus!!!!

It was sooo snowy and the snow was sooo deep that Mom wouldn't take us out down to the pen today. She said we were too short and we would get lost in all that snow. I dunno about that, but instead, we got to play in the living room. I spent most of my time searching for Smokey... I could hear him but I couldn't find him. Turns out, he was shut in the bathroom, darn it all! It was okay, I guess, cuz I decided to play with his laser dot. It's strange but Louie can't see it at all!!! Must be he is color blind in addition to his cataracts, I guess. I could see it just fine and I chased it all over the house. Whenever I got close to it, it would disappear and Mom would laugh at me. I personally think that is mean, don't you?
Finally, I decided to see what Louie was doing. He had about 10 bones all collected up in the dog bed and he was trying to decide which one to chew. I solved the problem for him, I went over and stole nine of them, hehehe!

Me and Louie had sooo much fun yesterday. We went down in the lab pen and we got to stay forever cuz Mom was testing some lenses and she had two left and only us left so she changed them halfway during our time down there. Because she needed lots of photos to compare the lenses, we got to stay TWICE as long as anyone else, hehehe!
And, if that wasn't enough, last night she gave us ALL some great meaty bones she found in the fridge while she was cleaning it out. Those were soooo good!! I took mine right into my crate and didn't let Louie anywhere near it...he had to take his into his own crate, hehehe!
Today we didn't go down to the lab pen because Mom thought we might be a little tired from yesterday. Soo, while everyone else was down there, she gave us some great marrow bones she found in the freezer, left over from Christmas. Mmmmmm, those were sooooo good.
Life is sooo good, I am glad I live here, and have such a fair Mom!!!

Yup, she knew it all along cuz she read the email this morning, then she promptly forgot to tell me!!! I would have enjoyed my day MUCH more if I had known I was pupular!!! And, my picture was right there under my friend Zaidie's pick!!! We are BOTH pupular, I guess! Hey, thanks, Zaidie, for the meatz!!! I did share with Louie, though, I didn't think you would mind.
Man it was sure cold here today! And, it's even colder tonight. Right now it is only zero farenheit, not fit for man nor beast! Man, you should see Mom counting us all when we come back inside after the little incident with Georgie earlier in the week. Georgie is darn lucky it wasn't today!!!! Because we couldn't go play outside Mom let us hang out in the house most of the day. I played with the poodles for a while, but Louie is a brat so he couldn't. We both chased that Smokey cat, too, hehehe!
Well, I am going to go snuggle in my warm blankies. Thanks for all your visits and well wishes!!

Wow, Sunday was pretty snowy, but today we got even MORE, and now, at 18 degrees F., it is RAINING!!! Needless to say, it is frozen by the time it hits the ground! Mom took me and Louie to daycare this morning because she said we have been stuck in our little place at home for too long due to the super below zero temperatures. Then, Louie got invited to the vets next door cuz most of their clients for surgery canceled and he needed to get neutered. Sooo, Mom went home and got the three toy poodle puppies for me to play with. She started with just me and Riley cuz she wasn't sure I wouldn't fight with them...MOM, that is LOUIE that does that bad stuff... I am a LOVER, not a FIGHTER!!! Well, she soon realized I wasn't a fighter, so she made a HUGE pen for us out of three big expens. We played and played and played. Then, she let us outside and we played some more! I had fun running and chasing the toys thru the snow, but... remember the other day, Sunday, when I said the snow didn't stick to MY short hair... well, today I was absolutely covered with a thick layer of snow!!! Check out my new photos and you can see my nice "ice" jacket. The poodles had even more than I did! Soo, we all went inside and melted and then took a long nap before we played and played and played some more. Mom decided since we were having soo much fun we could stay overnight at daycare and play more tomorrow. I think it was because she couldn't push the puppy stroller thru all that snow actually!!!
Won't Laurie be surprised when she gets to work tomorrow and sees all of us there, hehehe! Poor Hilda won't even have a pen to stay in, unless we make them two smaller ones and I go in with her. That might be a good idea!!!

Today Mom took us out to play in the warm sun! Too bad that cold snow is still out there.
Actually, I don't mind the snow that much. At least it doesn't stick to MY hair like it does those poodles. That must be nasty to be cold and wet for hours after you play outside. They brought in enough snow stuck on their coats today that Mom's humidifier actually shut off!!! Amazing, huh!
Mom has this silly new primary photo for me. I was checking out the faucet cuz there was a spider web stuck to it and it was moving in the breeze. For some reason Mom LOVED all the shadows and colors and hues, so she stuck it up for my photo. I don't mind... she will forget about it soon enough and it will work it's way down to the bottom of the pile!!!
Well, gotta go now. I am pretty tired and it is VERY cold so me and Louie are sleeping in our crate tonight instead of our in/out pen.

Well, I must say, Mom got some cool photos of me (and Louie) playing in the snow today. She even took us first so the snow was fresh and trackless. We ran and ran and played and played and then we ran some more. We even had a race and Louie had to admit, when he saw the photo finish, that I had won!!! He did make some "Louie" faces, but I was a clear winner.
We ran soo much and got so tired that both Louie and I zoomed right into our pen when we got back up to the house. We had to take a LONG nap!!
Well, speaking of naps makes me very tired. Now I gotta go to bed!

Well, we went down to the lab pen today to enjoy the freshly falling snow. As near as I can tell, Mom must have broken her camera cuz she only put ONE new photo on my page! I notice Louie has FIVE new ones...hrrumph, he must have some of mine, maybe?
Mom said the problem was that while we were down there the sun was trying to come out and it was a little bright so we looked pretty much like black holes in the white snow. Sure, sounds like an excuse to me. Let's see...Louie got lots of new ones because he is not black???? He looks black to me!!!
Tomorrow Mom better take ONLY ME down there and get some really, really good photos or else!!

Mom pulled a prank on herself, hehehe! She was going to enter me in my FIRST dog show which is in a few weeks. I told her I wasn't ready yet, but she was insistant. She still can't put Louie in cuz even though his eyes point forward now there is still a bit too much white showing on the insides. His head is growing fast again so they will be fine soon, but until then, he can't go out into the public eye. Oh, the prank. Well, entries usually close exactly two weeks before the show BUT, with the holiday and all, they closed LAST WEEK instead. Hehehe... I won and I don't have to go to a show yet!!!!
Today we went off down into the lab yard with Mom and the movie camera. Since it was a movie she was making I decided to impress everyone and come instantly when Mom called me. Of course, Mom doesn't know how to work the video yet, so she can't show me off!!! It's a good thing you can't see the video cuz when I was watching the playback I noticed that a couple of times, well, lots of times actually, while I was running back toward Mom I slipped on the hard packed wet snow and it looked pretty awful. I look like I might have rung the New Year in a little too much!!!

Today I discovered the greatest stuff in the world!! Mom says it's called snow and it comes almost every Winter. Mom said me and Louie could go down into the lab pen but, frankly, I was so busy exploring the snow we never even got down there. First, I took a sniff and it blew up all over my face and into my eyes... NEATO!! Then since all the bushes and plants were flattened down, I spied a big, brown dog on the other side of the fence. I ran up to look at him and I guess I must have scared him OR he was frozen stiff cuz he never even moved. Soo, I woofed at him and continued exploring. I saw my favorite big stick over in the corner. I ran to get it and it was way, way heavy, I guess, cuz I couldn't pick it off the ground. Mom came along and kicked it and then it was fine again so I played with that. It was kind of cold so it felt good on my teething gums, so I carried it around a bit. By now Louie was whining and crying so Mom said we could go back into the house. I didn't want to, so I snuck into the Cresteds summer pen. Hey, the gate was open, so. I was exploring in there and Mom kept calling and calling so I ducked into a big igloo dog house I found in there. Pretty neat, but MIGHTY COLD in there. Felt like an igloo, hehehe.
Now Mom was jumping up and down and holding one foot up in the air, then the other, and her teeth were chattering so I decided I probably better do what she wanted. I went back into the house and took a LONG nap!! I hope we can go play in the snow again tomorrow. Maybe I will go out with my grandpa Jones... he likes snow, too!!!

Today I pranked my nephew Louie! It felt sooo good. Here's the deal... we went down to the lab pen with Mom this afternoon. It was okay down there, but kind of chilly. Anyway, we were running around and playing and I got thirsty. I went on over to the little plastic pool cuz usually in the Summer we can drink out of it. Soo, I ran over there and discovered the water was frozen solid. Soo, I pretended I was drinking some, making a HUGE NOISE lapping and lapping. Louie came along to see what I was doing. I told him the water was nice and warm and he ought to take a jump right into the middle. Would you believe he did???? Silly dog!!! Well, of course all four feet slid in four different directions and he looked like a schmuck. Naturally, Mom was right there with her new LONG lens and got him up close and scared looking, hehehe, with me watching from outside the pool!!! Check his page to see the actual photo recorded for posterity!!! Then, I calmly walked away, laughing all the way!!! Somehow Mom got it a little wrong on the captions on our photos... sooo, remember, you read it right right here in my diary!!!!

Mom is pretty happy today. She took me and Louie over to daycare for a visit this morning. We had a GREAT time over there, but that's not what made Mom happy. You see, she has been watching me VERY carefully since I didn't have any brindle patches on my coat. In order to be a show girl I need some brindle. When Mom got me I had some on my tail, but it vanished with my new adult coat that is coming in now. Well, Saturday when we went to the show Mom discovered ONE white hair growing in along my back leg. She was encouraged but still didn't know ANY brindle Frenchies who were five months old and didn't have their brindle yet. Besides, that one white hair could be a stray white hair from an injured follicle, she thought. And, I am five months old THIS WEEKEND!!!
Well, Mom took me into the grooming room and put me under the bright light and found the white hair. Well, she started looking around and found a whole bunch of patches of brindle hair coming in. I had some on my shoulder, my sides, my back and even on my neck! There was no mistake... they are brindle and made up of different colors along the same hair.
WHEW... her name IS Lola, she IS a show girl!!!!!

Today I went to a dog show... it was exciting and very fun, but Louie wants to talk about that. I want to tell you what happened when we got home.
First of all, Mom ran into a bunch of SNOW... I still don't know what that stuff is, but she sure swore lots!!! And, we went really slowly the rest of the way home. In fact, we got within ONE mile of our house and the traffic was stopped!!! It is a main road and there were cars in front of us as far as we could see. NO cars were coming from the other direction. Some people were turning around and going a different way, but Mom couldn't do that cuz we were so close to our house and, when it snows and is slippery people usually have accidents right above our house on a BIG hill. Mom said if we went around we would probably still be stuck on the top of the hill. So, we sat for a whole half hour. Mom called her neighbors to see if the accident was on the hill but they are both really old and pretty deaf so she didn't find out too much, except cars were in Mom's big parking lot. Then she called someone else and they said someone took out a telephone pole on the hill. Sooo, we sat some more. Us three dogs really had to pee and so did Mom!!!
Finally, after another whole half hour, the cars started slowly moving. Now everyone went really slow cuz the road was ALL solid ice!!! Finally, we made it to our house. Mom carefully got out of the car and discovered our driveway was all ice, too. Sooo, she shuffled into the house and got the sand and salt stuff before she even got us out!
Now we had our dinner and we are outside slip sliding along. What IS that white stuff????
Anyway, back to my title. When Mom let me in the house I played my daddy Lukes famous game of go round the table. It was sooo fun I think I will do it lots! I ran around the table and when I got to Mom I zipped around the other way. She tried, she really tried to catch me, but I waited right until she could almost reach me, then I booked it the other way!! After about five minutes of this Mom was looking a bit frazzled so I ran into the dog room and stood in front of my pen, hehehe. Dad would be sooo proud of his little girl!!!!!!!!

Well, Mom has decided she is going to take me and Louie to the dog show even if it IS going to be cold. She said she would use the closed part of our stroller as a carrying case and we would be warmer in there with some extra blankets. Piper's appointment isn't until late in the afternoon so it will be warmer when we get there, too.
Mom says Kiwi's Mom is going to visit us there. I have never met her before, but she did meet Louie once. Louie is even bringing her a Christmas present, but I am leaving that up to Mom...I am too young to give presents by myself, unlike Louie, but I am old enough to GET presents, hehehe! Mom said they have tons of concessions there and usually have some great new toys for us dogs. She is taking a little money in case she finds something super for us. Bet she will!!! Oh, gosh... I hope she won't make us wait until Christmas for our presents... that is tooo, toooo far away!!!

Us pups up here in New England want to wish all of your pups a very, very happy Thanksgiving filled with lots of nice turkey. While the vets see more dogs with intestional upsets on Black Friday than any other day, Mom wants everyone to know it's not the turkey that is the villian!!! Turkey by itself is good for dogs... it is a safe, mild meat (unless you are allergic to it!!!) The problem comes with the rest of the Thanksgiving dinner. Worst of all is that great tasting fatty turkey skin. Man, is that stuff good, but, man is that stuff hard for us to digest and it really strains our pancreas. And, also a problem is the gravy and the stuffing, for the same reasons. Most of the veggies are okay, especially the sweet potatoes and the brocolli. But, watch out for the sauces on the veggies. A small piece of roll or bread won't hurt, but be light on the butter, please. As for dessert... skip that in favor of another piece of turkey!!!! And, you better stay away from the wine or you will be whining with a big headache.
Another thing to remember, watch where your parents put those turkey bones! Cooked turkey bones splinter really easily and can puncture your digestive system. Also, it is possible you could choke on them!!! If either of those things happen, you will be spending Black Friday visiting with your veterinarian and your pawrents will be angry... moms cuz they would rather spend the time and money on Black Friday specials and dads cuz they wanna watch all that football!!!
Soo, let's all go out and pawty hearty... but not too hearty!!! Happy Turkey day to everyone!

Hey, Mom never even told me I was a diary daily pick until about ten minutes ago! And, the worse part is that she knew it cuz she read the email message this morning.
I am certainly beginning to feel a bit left out here!! Everything is always Louie this, or Louie that, you get my drift?
I will say, however, that I had a nice visitor today. Her Mom has one of Pinki's puppies and they brought her for a visit. Well, me and Louie got to come out to visit, too, cuz this girl REALLY loves us Frenchies. (In fact, at her home she has TWO... one is Hilda's sister and the other is also related to me.) Anyway, we were playing nicely until Louie tried to get pushy with Delilah, the little poodle pup. He got quite pushy, in fact, so Mom put him in his crate. That meant I had the whole visit ALL to myself... her Mom was talking to my Mom and Delilah was playing with her grandpa Toto and I got to play with her all by myself!!! Fun!
Mom decided it was going to be too cold for me and Louie in our little in/out pen when the temperature dropped last night and the wind was blowing... that little doggy door was blowing straight out!!! Since we are not crate trained like Taylor and Tanner, Mom put a small expen in the kitchen for us. Well, she has since decided that she will put some newspapers in the in/out pen instead, since Louie pooped all over and smushed it all around the kitchen... not me, I was clean and dry!!! Maybe I will stay in a crate like Taylor??? Maybe Taylor and Tanner will stay in the pen in the kitchen??
Hey, thanks for all your visits today...I am almost at 500 now and can soon get my first treat!!!

This morning Mom brought my Grampy Jones home from the kennel. She also brought Darrell home, too. She said she needed their kennels for the next few weeks with the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays coming right up. Louie was happy to have his daddy (MY grampy) home to teach him more about how to be a spoiled Frenchie but I only need my sister Hilda. She is teaching me all the Diva rules quite well, thank you very much! Mom says Darrell isn't related to us... good thing cuz he is the one that excapes out of the pens over here at the house. There is only ONE that he can't get out of and Mom says that's fine as long as she remembers to only put him in that one! Silly dog runs right up to the vets next door when he manages to get out!!!
Grampy Jones doesn't escape from anywhere... he is pretty spoiled, (that's where Louie gets it from!) He only wants to be inside chasing the vacuum cleaner or broom, or barking at the beep on the microwave or washing machine. I noticed Louie watching him very carefully when he was screaming at the microwave beeping tonight... taking lessons, no doubt!

Did anyone realize that I was one of the ONLY ones in our dog family that did not get a new diary entry yesterday?? That is sooo not fair.
I suspect it was cuz I am not spoiled like Louie, nor did I try to make Skye my new best friend like those other guys. I am just me, myself and I. And, I do my own thing. Mom calls it independence but I call it self assured. I don't need all those humans telling ME what to do... I already know what I am going to do!!!
Mom says that is sort of the definition of a Diva dog... they do what THEY want, when they want. It's different from being spoiled cuz spoiled dogs, (and, Louie is a GREAT example), show off all the time!! Spoiled dogs even think negative attention is good...Louie does stuff he KNOWS Mom will hate, just so he can get her to yell at him. That is sooo weird! Not me, I like being left alone to my own devices. Well, as long as someone gives me my food everyday, hehehe!

Today is Mom's get out of work early day and it is Laurie's day to work. Mom took me and Louie to work with her and Hilda was there with Laurie so we played all day. When it was time for Mom to leave she took us AND Hilda and brought us down to the big yard. Well, she forgot about the time change so the sun was blasting us right in our faces down there. She decided to take us over to the lab pen since that was shaded. It was perfect and Hilda was better there... she was trying to escape out of the big yard for some reason!
We played with the squishy ball for a while, at least until Diva Hilda took it away from us!!! Of course Mom took some photos, so she put them mostly on MY page!
Hey, I got my first ever bath today...Mom is still trying to find my brindle color so she bathed me to encourage the puppy coat to fall out faster. It fell out, but I didn't see any brindle left! Mom says there is still time... hope she's right!

Mom put some jackets on us today before we went down in the big yard to play. I think she was cold so she imagined we were, too. I got a really nice pink parka. Mom said that my sister Hilda gave it to us. I guess it doesn't fit her anymore. It fit me okay, but there is plenty of room for me to grow into it. The best part was that the neck fit me good. Usually us Frenchies have a problem finding ones with big enough necks.
Louie and I went down to the big yard by ourselves, due to a little problem he was having with Tanner. As a result, he was trying to act big with me and I had to remind him that I am a Diva in training. I guess he understands that better now! Maybe tomorrow we will go back down there and have another lesson...I am sure he will begin to give me the respect I am due pretty soon...he IS a smart boy after all.
Gee, I just remembered my sister Hilda is in the kennel this weekend... maybe Mom will let her go down to the big yard with us and help me teach Louie the rules of behavior around a Diva...she is a very, very good Diva!

Okay, I am home from staying with my sister Hilda now and NO ONE is waiting on me! She really tried to help me become a true diva, but without some help from the slaves around here, it isn't going to do me any good to be one! Mom immediately stuck me in a pen over here at work. She "says" we will be going home soon, but as far as I am concerned, I have already been here way, way too long! I need my Taylor and Tanner at least to wait on me... and hopefully some of the others will get the message as well.
Mom did say I am looking very good... she says I have my dad's body...good I guess????
Louie has his "howlaween" eyes on again... they are going in two different directions!!! Talk about scary......

Anyway, I was checking on it tonight and it was no where to be found! Mom told me to refresh the page cuz I was at home when I wrote it and at work when I checked but it is GONE!!!
Soo, thanks to all who visited me and wished me well. I had a good day at work, now I am visiting with my sister Hilda. Sadly, Louie is here with me!

Mom came home from work early today cuz it's Wednesday. She was running around, getting stuff together to pack for her vacation when the door bell rang. Gee, I didn't even know we had a door bell. Apparently, Mom didn't remember that, either, cuz she jumped a mile high when it rang!
Anyway, it was a friend of Mom's who has my niece Thelma. She stopped to buy her some dog food and Laurie told her Mom had us babies here so she came to visit us!!! Mom let us out of our pen and we raced into the living room to visit. Thelma was older when she got her and she had never seen any Frenchie babies before. She laughed and laughed at us! We both did let her hold us, but we mostly ran around and played and explored. I can fit right under the hutch but Louie is too big. Since the last time I was under there it has shrunk so I did have to back out cuz there wasn't enough room for me to turn around. That didn't matter... I could still back up and carry my great finds out with me.
Louie was really funny... Mom has a battery foot vibrating thingie under her desk, way, way in the back. It is all covered with fake fleece and looks comfy. Well, Louie climbed up on it and it started vibrating... he was scared and raced out from under the desk. Mom was happy cuz he turned right around and went back to see what happened!!!
Finally, Mom let out Tanner and Taylor so they could visit too. Well, all they wanted was to be held and patted. It was pretty sickening so Louie and I ran out into the kitchen before we gagged! Poodles are SOOO unFrenchie like!!!

Today we went on down to the Labrador Yard. We have never been down there before cuz we used to be too small. Well, in case you haven't noticed, I am still pretty small! We were following Mom down the path and I fell right off the side of it. I landed in some fallen Fall leaves at the bottom of the stone wall. Don't worry, I didn't fall far and I didn't land on my head!
Anyway, we played and played and played. Once I made a mistake and knocked Mom's chair over but I left quickly and she thought Louie did it, hehehe!
Oh yeah, about the football playing Mom... Mom decided to carry me back up the path. She picked me up, I wasn't ready to leave the playing yet so I took a mighty leap away from her. She fumbled a bit, but ended up catching me in a perfect basket catch. At least that's what I think that catch is called??? I don't watch football, I am afraid they will think I am the football!
Us Frenchies are awful to hold anyway. Our front half is heavier than our back half. When we are babies like me and Louie we are usually pretty pudgy and hard to hold on to as well. Mom feeds us in the top crates and almost every day one of us leaps out when she opens the door. She has lots of practice being a good football player, hehehe! So far she hasn't dropped either of us.

Wow, when Mom got me everyone liked me cuz I was Lukie's daughter and he was gone. No one ever said I was pretty or cute or even beautiful. Mom kept telling everyone at least I could make a good brood dog, whatever that means.
Anyway, now I am suddenly three months old and I guess I am changing. In the last week alone FIVE people said I was better looking than Louie!!!! Imagine that!!!! Yup, it IS true and I am not denying it. First there was Mom's lab friend... she kept looking at me and holding me and finally she said I was really cute! Then, Mom sent my new photos to Kiwi's Mom and she said right now I looked nicer than Louie, eat your heart out, Louie! Yesterday Laurie said I was very beautiful now and Louie seemed to have the uglies going on, hehehe! (I swear, I didn't pay her to say that, really!) Then, today at daycare BOTH Julie and Sarah said they liked me the bestest!!!
What does Mom say... she won't say! She does admit I have a much nicer head than she thought I was going to, but she always adds..."right now." She always reminds everyone that both Louie and I are Frenchies and Frenchies almost NEVER look the same grown up as they do as puppies, unlike labs and lots of other breeds. If a lab has straight, nice legs as a puppy they will as an adult, too. Not us Frenchies... we can get bull legged almost overnight it seems. And, a nice, square head at 3 months can be narrow and pointed when we grow up. Oh well, it will keep Mom guessing, huh?

Last night me and Louie got to play out in the big house with Mom and her friend. Taylor and Tanner came out for a little bit but then Mom put them back and left us out there for way over an hour!!! Can you imagine the fun we had??? We played with all the big guys toys and peed on their beds and generally ran around. I am small enough to fit under the hutch and it was amazing what great stuff was under there!!! I had to keep going back for more. I NEVER stopped running and playing the whole time. Louie got tired so he settled down in the old dog bed, then he moved over to lie beside Mom's friend...guess he does like getting patted!
Mom's friend wants to get a Frenchie someday (now she has labs like Mom used to), anyway, that's why we got to stay out with them. She was pretty nice... she held me lots. Louie didn't want her to hold him but Mom said he doesn't want ANYONE to hold him.
Mom got talking about me and my Dad, Lukie tonight. She said it's very strange but Louie reminds her more of my dad than I do!! Mom says he is really bad about being held, just like my dad was, especially when she did his nails. That's okay, I was really bad when she did my nails, too!
Anyway, I am now three months old and Mom says I am getting big! She kept thinking I was way too tiny but I guess she was comparing me to Louie who is older than me and, besides, he is a boy and boys are supposed to have more bone! I am a girl and I am feminine... well, at least I LOOK feminine, hehehe!

Well, the others all told you about our day already so I will tell you about MY time down in the big yard.
As I get older, I am finding it more fun to play with the others, but I still like to do my own thing. In fact, I even managed to sneak up into that shed everyone is always talking about. Mom didn't notice me up there cuz I am still little so I really had plenty of time to explore. I didn't find too much exciting. I did find a whole lot of cobwebs and dust and dirt and ALL of it stuck to my face and whiskers! It was kind of hard to tell Mom I wasn't in there when my whole face was covered with the evidence, hehehe! She even took a photo of my dirty face for posterity, whatever that is!!
I also played with Taylor for a while...she and I are almost the same size but I now weigh more than she does! Anyway... we played sneak up on each other, and then she played a little leap frog with me. Finally, Louie was jealous so I played with him, too. Then, I was all tired out and stretched out in the cool grass so we came home so I could rest up for tomorrow!

Yesterday Mom took all the shavings out of our pen. Well, since we are so helpful, she shut our flappy door with US on the outside! Finally, the pen was clean and ready so she let us in. Next thing we knew she turned on that HUGE sucky machine right near us! Boy, that Louie and I immediately started barking and growling and chasing it. Mom looked around, both Tanner and Taylor were sitting in the far corner looking nervous and Louie and I were right up front trying to kill that thing! She started laughing and said it was very, very obvious that we were Frenchies and not poodles! I guess my grampa Jones, who is also Louie's dad, is the worst sucky machine chaser Mom ever had. She says we apparently have inherited that gene!! Mom said Jones is sooo bad that he will start screaming and yelling the second she opens the broom closet or he hears the vacuum being pulled across the floor, even before it's turned on!!! He also screams and yells at any beeping noise he hears, noises like the microwave, the alarm clock and especially the smoke detector. We told Mom that could be a good thing???? Maybe????
Anyway, I would have thought she could tell we weren't poodles when she saw our short, smushed in faces??? I also suspect our ears might be a giveaway...to say nothing of our short, brindle and white coats???

Hrumph... I had to wear Beanie's old, old pumpkin costume. It wasn't even his newer pumpkin, it was a really old one from when he was a baby. Did you notice how faded it is? First, Mom put me in a stupid t-shirt with howlaween writing all over it. I am not sure what that represented, and the writing didn't even show up. Furthermore, it was way, way, way too big for me... I think it must be Toto's or maybe even Alfies!!! Soo, she took that off and let me wear the same one that Louie wore. Of course, I am way, way cuter than Louie so mine is MUCH better. Mom says my head is finally getting nice and square and I am a pretty good looking Frenchie. Of course, she says Louie is a great looking Frenchie... not fair, not fair at all cuz no matter what I do, I will always be younger than he is!!!

Mom says I am very, very independent! When ever we go out in the big yard I do my own thing. Louie hangs out with Mom or with Taylor and Tanner but I just go explore on my own. Mom says it is a typical girl dog thing, I guess.
Anyway, I do still listen but I can tell you, it won't be easy to train me. Well, maybe with the right treat... I really, really LOVE food!
Mom feeds us three times a day and we get that nice, raw Stella and Chewy's patties. Mmmmm, let me tell you, that stuff is really good! I have already learned to listen for the freezer door opening... if it is followed by the microwave beeping I know it's dinner time cuz Mom thaws our food in the microwave. I start screaming and don't stop until I get my food! Trouble is, both Louie and I have to eat together in a crate cuz we eat way, way faster than the poodles do. In fact, Mom doesn't even get our dish set down and most of it is GONE! Then we have to wait for Tanner and Taylor to finish so we can go back in our pen. Taylor is pretty fast but that Tanner takes forever. He has to sniff each mouthful before he even tastes it. Then, he has to wait until his taste buds thoroughly analize it before he will even eat that bite. And, he does that for each bite, waiting to make sure the previous bite has gotten all the way to his stomach!!! Sometimes his stomach tells him he is full so he stops eating and tells Mom he is done. Does she listen??? Nope, she waits another ten minutes or so to make sure he is really finished. Grrrrrr. Someday I would like Mom to just give me a whole dish full and let me eat until I am done... I wonder how that feels??? Mom won't do that cuz she says we are too much like labradors and will make ourselves sick. I would just like to try it once, Mom!!! I promise I wouldn't even cry if I got a tummy ache! Mom says the problem with the raw food is that we digest it way too fast. That kibble makes us feel full for hours and hours but we are hungry about three hours after we eat the raw food. Oh well, Mom says the good stools and healthy bods are well worth it. Both me and Louie had big, pot bellies and the runs with the kibble, even if we only ate a tiny bit of it. Now we are healthy, muscled and growing well but don't have fat bellies anymore!!!

Well, Mom finally realized that I was just plain too small to climb up high enough to get out that floppy door and into our new outside pen. And, although Louie is probably big enough, he is too fat to get his weight high enough to get out it! We can get back inside but then we were stuck inside and Taylor and Tanner were running inside and telling us how nice it was outside over and over and over again. Sooo, tonight when she got home from work Mom took a couple of boards and screwed them into a small ramp right under our floppy door. I was soo happy I ran right up the little ramp and went outside so she could see how nice it worked. Louie took a little persuading, but he finally got it, too.
Now, we are really happy with our new pen!!! Mom still shuts the floppy door at night cuz she is scared we will go outside in the dark (silly Mom!), but starting tomorrow morning we can all run in and out all day long!! I can't wait!

Man, I sure like our new pen. Some of the other dogs have tunneled under the big ramp and made some hiding places. One of them is just right for me! I grab a toy and run under there and poor Tanner and Louie try to get me. I face out the opening and they can't get past my sharp, puppy teeth!!! Poor guys can't fit in there with me, either. My little secret hiding place, hehehe!
I do need a hiding place cuz that Tanner does get pretty rough sometimes. Mom says it's cuz he's older than me and wants to be a bully. It's okay, I found out that if I can't get to my hiding place all I gotta do is scream real loud and he runs the other way. Speaking of screaming... I already know how to talk lots, too. Mom is pretty excited cuz she said she misses my dad Luke's talking all the time. She is hoping I will be a talker, too. My half sister Hilda is a GREAT talker... just like our dad! She's staying here for a while cuz Laurie and Drew are going away so maybe I can learn from her?? I guess I will try!!

Mom brought Pinki's deaf puppy, Piper, home for a few days so she could begin training him. We had a lot of fun with him!! He is kind of big, so I wasn't too sure of him, though.
Today Mom left us home and she came home from work early. Even though it is VERY, VERY hot, she took us down to the big yard and let us stay down there in the shade. She took Piper also, even though he jumps OUT of the stroller!! He was pretty good, in fact, Mom said you couldn't really tell he was deaf when he was playing with us. Finally, he started getting too rough with me and was dragging me by my back leg so Mom made him go back in the kennel with his sister and brothers. Oh well, at least Taylor and I are safe now!
Mom says I am too brave for my own good, whatever that is supposed to mean. Just cuz I won't run and hide like Louie does means I am TOO brave???? Silly Mom, she doesn't want me to be a woosie does she????

I guess Louie already told you guys that I was sick on Saturday. I had such a bad belly ache that I didn't know whether to throw up or go the other way, so I did both!!! Mom was very, very worried cuz I am just at the age where my mother's antibiodies I got when I was first nursing wear out and mine from my shots aren't ready yet. She stayed up all night and held my paw! She gave me two different kinds of pills, too. And, she wouldn't even let me drink all the water I wanted... she just let me have tiny sips every once in a while. Finally, I was feeling a bit better so I fell asleep and so did Mom. She was sleeping so soundly she didn't even hear her alarm, so I helped. I barked and barked and yelled and screamed. Finally she woke up, jumped up to check me, and then started laughing cuz all I wanted was my breakfast!!! She only let me have a tiny bit, but since I obviously wasn't sick any more she gave me more later. I was perfect all day and I am still perfect! Poor Louie also got sick, but he wasn't as sick as I was so Mom left him with Laurie, hehehe! Must have been all those hosta leaves we were eating??? Mom said Louie sure had a lot of pieces of wood in his stomach cuz he threw them all up, but I didn't eat any of that. Oh well, we are fine now! And, tonight we celebrated by running and running and running all around the big yard!!!

Tonight when we went down to play in the big yard I went exploring. Mom says I am pretty independent for being the youngest one here. Ah, Mom, not all of us are clingy like those toy poodles, Tanner and Taylor. Frenchie's are brave and bold and, yeah, independent!!! Anyway, Tanner was playing with a nice stick. I tried a few times to get it away from him but he wasn't giving it up. Soo, I ran way, way over to the edge of the pen and found my own stick. It was still attached to it's roots so I had to chew it off. Not to worry, those puppy teeth are good for that! While I was over there I spied a really pretty yellow flower way up high. I tried and tried to reach it, but I was too small. Then, I remembered there were some in the garden that were much lower so I ran over and got one for Mom. She was happy!!!
Since I am smaller than Louie I am more agile than he is. Tonight I did lots of running and leaping but he could only sit back and watch...he is too fat to leap very high, hehehe!
Now, I am very, very tired and taking a nap!

Ya know, this is a pretty neat home! Louie and I are having lots of fun together and, Mom even lets us play with the poodles, too. And, every morning we go over to work and that is a really neat place, too! All the girls fight over who gets to hold us, and we go with them for all their breaks. We can't go out in the daycare yard yet cuz me and Taylor are still too small, we could fit right thru the spaces in the gate.
Now that I am comfortable here I am running circles around Louie. He is like a big, stuffed toy!! I usually run backwards, (Did you know that baby Frenchies usually run backwards??? Yup, we do! We can keep our balance better that way!)and I sometimes can't see where I am going. This morning I tumbled right over into the water dish. I was hoping no one saw that graceful move, but... Mom was laughing at me so I guess I was caught! Probably that water dripping off my head was a pretty good clue????
Well, gotta go to sleep now. Those big dogs, especially Louie's daddy Jones, woke us all up last night cuz it was dark in the house. I guess they are scared of the dark???? Not me, I am BRAVE!!!

Well, I actually slept good last night. I was all snuggled up with Louie and didn't even miss my brother and sisters. This morning Julie came over with a pink stroller and got me and Louie and the two poodles and took us to work. That is one cool place!!! We saw lots of HUGE dogs and we got to play in a little room with some cats in cages. I tried to play with them but they hissed at me!!! We played and played and all the people over there carried me and Louie all around with them. Finally we came home and Mom took us down to a big, huge place with grass all over. We played for a while down there and she even let those poodles play with us. Once they were chasing me and I got a little scared but I ran back to Mom and she saved me. Then, it was raining so we came home and now I am playing with Louie. I growl and bark at him and he chases me! It's a fun game. And, we get really, really good food here!!! Mom says it's good for us, too. We can't eat with the poodles cuz me and Louie eat way, way too fast and don't leave any for them. Too bad, I say!!!
Gee, I was soo busy I never even missed my old family. I wonder if they missed me??? Bet they didn't!!!

Hi, everyone. My name is Lola and I am one of Luke's daughters. I have two sisters and a brother and we were born just one week before our dad, Luke, died. I am sorry I never met him, but I will try to be a prankster like he was, except so far, Louie, my great nephew, is trying to take over that title himself!!!
Today Mom came all the way over to my old house and met me for the first time. She decided to bring me home early because poor Louie was getting an identity crisis living with those toy poodles. Mom and my breeder both decided it would be fine if I came here early instead of waiting a few more weeks. It's not like I am not going to be around other puppies and/or big dogs... I have Louie's Mom and his dad (who is also MY uncle!) to play with here.
Anyway, so far I think it's going to be okay. Me and Louie spent quite a bit of time outside playing with some toys. Sometimes he bites my ears, but I can growl at him and he stops. Besides, he's a boy dog and boy dogs always respect girl dogs, hehehe!
BTW... my doggy mommy has a page here on Dogster, too. Her name is Tula. I sure hope my brother and my sister will also be on here soon!
Well, I gotta nap now, catch ya later!
