We have been super busy since the last time I posted - 'cos mummy's mum - that's our Nana got very sick so we moved into her house so mummy could look after Nana's cat. Cheeky and I are still getting to know each other - 'cos he thinks HE is the boss Hee Hee But it's only been four months - this morning we are on the lounge - me to mummy's left and Cheeky to mummy's right and Alfie at her feet. When she has time mummy will add a photo of Cheeky - our new fur bro LOL

2012 has been a bad year for Mummy

She has been sick, her car has been sick and I had tooth problems - I had to have 4 teeth out and I'm supposed to get them brushed but I hate that so instead I get Kangaroo Tail to munch on. Then a close friend of Mummy's died - so she has been busy and distracted with all that stuff but I'm doing well - Alfie and I now sleep on her bed all night - me at the head of her bed snuggling into Mummy's chest and Alfie at the foot of her bed which keeps her feet warm.

Most of the time we are good but then some times I forget that it's Alfie on the bed wif me and Mummy so I growl - then he growls then it's on.

It's fun for me and Alfie; who eventually jumps off MY bed then I chase him - and we start all over again.

Other then that we are perfect angels - just ask Mummy Heehee

And soon it will be time for our needles and dental check again - Alfie first then me closer to Christmas - we crossing our paws that the Greenies and Dentastix Mummy gives us plus my Kangaroo Tail means we don't have to have any teeth out.

Anyway it's super windy today, that's Winter for ya hey Heehee

Hope everyone else is doing OK

*woof*

Mummy has just added some new pix including one from Christmas morning wif my new toy which I proceeded to break, well it wouldn't stop barking so I grabbed him, shook him (which broke him) but at least he stopped barking at me - mummy has a video somewhere of me shaking it - which she will add later

In the mean time hope you like my photos - including Alfie and I in our new coats

*whispering* mummy seems to have forgotten we already have coats of our own LOL

Alfie, mummy and I have been good. Today mummy thought it was time to update my photos - I still try and get as many cuddles as I can - even laying on her computer's keys to get her attention and because winter is almost here she bought Alfie a waterproof coat - it has a faux fur trimmed hood but Alfie didn't like that so luckily mummy was able to detach it and she has ordered me a pink sweater too - so we will all be warm and dry this winter.

WooHoo

What's everyone else been up to?

I think it's time for another sleep now I have my tummy full with egg on toast, that mummy shared with Alfie and I, for lunch.

So that's all for now

Today I sat in front of mummy's chair with her whilst Alfie sat on the chair and we didn't growl at each other then later - after our chicken and dog biscuits dinner - Alfie jumped on mummy's lap as she sat on her chair and I fell asleep on my cushion - again no growling on my part - or his for that matter - so maybe I don't have to go in my crate when Alfie gets a nurse hey? If I continue to be good - and ignore Alfie HeeHee

Mummy also took a photo of us together - me on the floor in front of her chair, Alfie on it. She was very pleased to finally get a photo of us pretty close 'cos normally just as she clicks the camera one of us moves out of frame - on purpose *shshsh don't tell mummy* *Woofs*

Mummy will post the photo tomorrow it's 7pm here and that's her coffee time LOL

So good night for now

Firstly, sorry I didn't post anything yesterday - after mummy and I came home from the vets we had a nap and that was that HeeHee. But yes, yesterday I had my stitches taken out Yay HeeHee

My face has been itchy since but maybe that's my fur growing back hmmm.

Then we came home had a nap and a quiet day - mummy took some photos for my page she will add them later - and Alfie and I didn't have any scraps either tho' I did growl at him when I came home 'cos I forgot for a minute that I share my home with HeeHee

We are both off all our meds now and Alfie has stopped limping too, we just licked mummy's bowl with a bit of cereal in it so now it's time to curl up and have a sleep in mummy's fleecy jacket - Alfie is already on his pillow on his chair.

So that's my news - short but good hey

Not long now and no more stitches in my face *yay* PLUS tonight I have my last quarter antibiotic tablet - which I had in strawberry yogurt this morning *yum* and mummy has continued with the drops in Alfie's food 'cos he is still limping tho' it aint like he is sick 'cos yesterday he wanted a cuddle and I got jealous growling at him and so he jumped down to put me in my place but then mummy scooped me up - 'cos neither of us would quit barking and growling s0 she was protecting my stitches - but then he was jumping up at me and I continued to give him a piece of my mind. Just 'cos I cant see him doesn't mean I cant tell him off - even tho' it was kinda my fault to start with HeeHee.

Poor mummy's heart was pounding then she put me down, we had a shake then a drink then fell asleep - all that barking and growling and stuff is tiring work y'know.

Then this morning I had my morning snuggle with Alfie close by and I didn't growl once tho' I was curious to know what he was doing 'cos I could hear slurping noises but mummy explained he was just cleaning himself, so I did the same, so there was lotsa slurping noises in the bedroom this morning HeeHee

Have a good weekend everyone, I'm going back to sleep now

Alfie and mummy and I are having a quiet and relaxing day then tonite we will have extra bbq chicken for dinner. I get my stitches out on Monday and hopefully Alfie will be better soon tho' he doesn't seem to be responding to his meds - Poor doggy.

So lotsa sleeping today is a good idea for him and I - was stressful yesterday being babysat at mummy's friends house whilst mummy had to go out and Alfie always misses us heaps, scratching up the carpet trying to get out 'cos he hates not being included.

From Monday when I don't have anymore stitches we will be able to stay home alone but be together when mummy can't take us with her, so that will be heaps better, especially for Alfie.

I am braver than Alfie I don't mind being home alone, I just wander around and sniff things then curl up and go to sleep whereas he gets very upset *hugs for Alfie*

Don't eat too much doggies but have a good Easter weekend anyway

That means my stitches come out - on Monday *yay*

But does that mean no more treats like strawberry jam? Yesterday mummy tricked me and hid my antibiotic tablet in a spoonful of strawberry yogurt, I liked that too but I think I prefer the strawberry jam more HeeHee.

Alfie has stopped peeing on mummy's bed, maybe he just caught short and with his sprained ankle and all he opted for peeing on mummy's mattress and doona - she has forgiven him. Isn't she a good mummy.

We aren't allowed chocolate for Easter or anytime but mummy bought us bbq chickens instead *yum*

We are both sound asleep as mummy posts this for me 'cos our 7am snuggle time wasn't very snuggly, more licking, scratching and moving -time, 'cos I just couldn't get comfy HeeHee

There are two more photos to come, one of both of us - when Alfie decided to sleep on my cushion last nite so mummy took MY photo to distract me and she has been trying to get a photo of Alfie on his blue triangular pillow on her old leather chair but normally he is sound asleep on it and I already have photos on my page of Alfie sleeping but this morning she took one of him just sitting - he, like me, was waiting for mummy to share her museli and weet-bix, but she didnt - Mean mummy HeeHee

So that's MY news - what's up with you???

Just as mummy was putting us to bed last night we had a blackout, not that I cared or even noticed since I'm blind anyway but Alfie was not sure what to do, at least until mummy found her torch, luckily her laptop battery worked to give her enough light from the monitor to find it then get Alfie and I to bed . So we were getting settled when mummy placed her hand on her bed - her wet bed - just then the lights came back and she checked her doona (duvet) and it too had too big wet spots on it - meanwhile Alfie had jumped up on his quilt at the foot of mummy's bed and was sound asleep...Naughty Alfie.

This morning mummy and I had to go to the Post Office but Alfie was being naughty 'cos he wanted to go but he couldn't ... he ran out into the hall of our building by the lifts then I wriggled out of mummy's arms and ran around with him - that was so fun... but soon mummy scooped me up in her arms and encouraged Alfie inside, so she could post some things - but more importantly so she could go buy more BBQ chicken for Alfie and I... and if mummy is good we might even share some with her HeeHee

When we got home Alfie had continued to tear up the carpet - he hates being left behind but while I have my stitches in mummy can't chance the both of us being left home alone and I'm lighter to carry - I will be allowed to walk on my lead when I get the stitches out too.

Now we have settled mummy is about to make lunch, which naturally means we get to eat too, right???

That's all for now

Mummy has added photos of me before my surgery for no other reason than because she has lots of me (and Alfie as well as her Lhasa Apso, Georgie who is in heaven now).

That one of Alfie and I looking at the camera was tricky for mummy to take 'cos that was just after I moved in and we weren't too sure of one another and she was trying to get us in the same frame HeeHee.

The one of me on my lambswool mattress was my first night in my new home, now I know the pink triangle pillow is for my head not my bottom HeeHee.

But I spend most of the time on my cushion next to mummy's chair and she even put a cushion behind me to rest up against and stop me from ending up under the coffee table where Alfie likes to hide from me.

That's all for today.

Mummy has been busy seeing to Alfie this morning, who growls when she lifts him off her bed then jumps back up - twice - so now he is still there (asleep) and I'm on my cushion covered by my mummy's fleecy jacket - like the photo . She also added a photo she took before my operation just 'cos I am cute as... Tho' sometimes I think she has forgotten my name 'cos instead of calling me Lily Girl - that's my full name, that comes from being her Li'l Girl, she sometimes calls me Lily... No! or Lily...Stop, that one especially when I go to smell Alfie's bottom - especially while he has a sore foot 'cos then he growls at me but I can growl too y'now... then he runs away and hides... is that being a mean sis?

I don't mean to be mean I just have to stand up for myself - especially since I can't see - tho' I know mummy will protect me from Alfie and Alfie from me and us from outside doggies we don't know 'cos she is a good and caring mummy - she sure has her hands full hey?

I would make her a coffee to say Thank You 'cept I cant reach the kitchen bench where the kettle is Hee Hee (I will smother her in kisses & licks instead).

Now Alfie has woken up and limped into the lounge room - do you think he might wanna play? Probably Not :(

I got my collar off today and have been busy licking and cleaning myself ever since, as for Alfie he probably has a sprained ankle so can't go for walks for 5 days and mummy has to put 6 drops of Metacam anti inflammatory drops on his food . That was what I was having to take but now I don't have to have them anymore but I still have to have 1/4 antibiotic tablet (in strawberry jam) and another nice vet called Lisa will take my stitches out on Easter Monday 'cos Nicole wont be there.

Sooooo good news for me and not so good news for Alfie - poor Alfie, I will try and not bother him but now I am not wearing that stoopid collar I would love to play Hee Hee *Woof*

Mummy will post a photo of me soon so you can see how lovable I still look HeeHee

Yesterday got complicated - for mummy anyway, when Alfie hurt his paw. So he was a bit snappy toward me 'cos he was in pain which meant mummy had to play referee between us. When I go see the nice girl vet Nicole later we will take him too just to make sure his leg or paw doesn't have anything seriously wrong.

I also decided to play with my tablet last night then this morning, spitting it out, once, twice, no... three times - 'cos then I get more strawberry jam HeeHee

Then mummy set Alfie's quilt down on the floor later so he wouldn't have to jump up on her bed but then he jumped up anyway then this morning he didn't seem confident to get down ...and last night he laid down to eat his dinner - that's so not like my furbro and I would sympathize even more 'cept he insists on growling at me just 'cos I come over to check on him... silly doggy HeeHee.

Now he is asleep on his chair with a pillow and I'm laying on the chair's cushion on the floor with mummy's fluffy coat to snuggle up in.

Cross paws I get the collar taken off later and that Alfie isn't too sick.

That's all for now

Another great night sleep - air-conditioning rox!!

First it's tablet time - I'm getting so good at taking my tablets now :D Then breakfast and since it's Sunday we had a cooked breakfast - scrambled eggs on toast (after some of mummy's Weet-Bix Cereal). And mummy also had a coffee - Alfie and I aren't allowed to have that 'cos mummy says we are stimulated enough - I dunno what that means but it's mummy's rule so that is that.

Alfie and I continue to get on better, this morning we even sat together at the kitchen doorway waiting for mummy to get our breakfast and last night I helped him shoo away the doggy that was outside barking (annoying) us - We couldn't see him/her 'cos we were inside but we stood at the balcony door and Alfie (especially) gave the other doggy a piece of his mind. He musta been locked out on his balcony and maybe his mummy had gone out but it was after dinner so he needed to be shooshed, so we shooshed him HeeHee.

So that's my news... sleeping...eating...barking...taking tablets...sleeping...eating...barking... It really is a dog's life - watch out when I get my collar off WooHoo *Woof*

Hiya everyone
Just a quickie sleep report - I slept better even tho' mummy said No when I wanted to get on her bed - she decides when and it was too early apparently, so I curled up on my doggy matress beside her - trying it on an hour or so later but again mummy said No - til eventually (7am) she said yes *yay*

Which meant she also slept better - having her airconditioner on all night helped too HeeHee. I took my morning antibiotic tablet - I don't even try and spit it out anymore - besides, the strawberry jam is still super yummy... then Alfie and I shared some of her cereal and we just had some berry flavoured yogurt - i will have to watch my figure HeeHee I'm only 4.5 KG/approx 9lbs so I am not fat at all. Alfie is almost 8 kg/approx 16lbs which is ok for a Mini Schnauzer, Nicole the nice girl vet said.

Later today I'm getting a visitor, the lady from the rescue shelter is coming to see me - cool hey?

In the meantime I guess I will just sleep... wonder around bumping into Alfie...drink lotsa water and try not to knock the bowl over...sleep...wonder around bumping into Alfie... oh and bark at the birds - that's something new, these Rosellas were sitting on the railing of my balcony and squawking, so I told them to buzz off - Alfie was no help at all - he mustn't mind strange things sitting on my balcony whereas I do - for now anyway.

So that's my news for today

more later or tomorrow

I dunno if it was 'cos I slept lots yesterday or 'cos it was hot - well humid anyway as Sydney is around this time of year but I couldn't get comfy even tho' mummy had her fan on and later she turned on her air conditioner. I even scored a few snuggles in my mummy's bed too - so she didn't get much sleep either - but in the end we all got up. I started the day taking my antibiotics - did I happen to mention I'm addicted to strawberry jam? HeeHee

Then mummy let Alfie and I finish her bowl of Weet Bix - that's a very famous cereal type biscuit here in Australia, at least that way I got a bit of a drink (of milk) 'cos I knocked over my water bowl in the early hours of the morning (then decided I didn't want it when mummy refilled it for me) and was getting frustrated when I got up 'cos I can't always figure out how to fit my collar over the bowl so I can reach my water without knocking it over or stepping in it - just one of life's little challenges I guess - sometimes I get it first time - other times not.

Then mummy crawls around on the floor with the bowl trying to help but actually ends up spilling even more water. Silly mummy.

Now I am asleep on my cushion next to mummy's chair and Alfie is asleep behind mummy's chair - that's his hidie spot 'cos he is still a bit scared of me while I wear this stoopid collar - hopefully for not much longer...

Just back from seeing girl vet Nicole, she was very happy with me and if I am real good I might be allowed to take the stupid collar off next Monday - after she has another look at my wounds - at present they are still swollen but that is to be expected apparently. Now it's time for a nap (and a coffee for mummy).

I slept great last night - and I think mummy slept better too - now I have my lambswool mattress back - it's way more comfy than the basket but it's good to have a choice - even the floor is ok sometimes HeeHee

I am getting used to my new life but will be even more happy when I can take off this silly collar that gets in my way when I try to scratch my ear - mummy scratches for me but it's not really the same thing...

I took my pain relief tablet without any fuss this morning... I think I'm becoming addicted to strawberry jam... don't tell mummy HeeHee

Yesterday as I laid on mummy's lap Alfie sat beside us - I didn't mind 'cos I was alseep... I wouldn't mind so long as he doesn't take my biscuits... I LOVE my food.

Later mummy is taking me to see the nice girl vet just to check my wounds, they aren't bleeding or weeping at all so that's good isn't it?

Maybe the collar can come off sooner rather than later *cross paws*

Now I'm going to have a nap

Mummy picked me up from hospital at 5pm yesterday. I had bbq chicken and yogurt and strawberry jam on toast for dinner (where mummy hid my pain relief tablet... I spat it out twice but eventually I just licked up the jam and down the tablet went.)

The vet wanted me to sleep in my crate but with this silly collar around my neck I kept bumping into the wire so mummy set up my basket in her bedroom - I slept a bit but because I kept waking up and wondering around the bedroom she decided to put my doggy lambswool mattress back where it normally is - (on the opposite side of the bedroom) which was much better 'cos it doesn't have "walls" like the basket so it's easier for me to get "out" of when I wanna have a walk around.

I slept good after that (Whereas mummy slept with one eye open, watching over me.)

Then about 7am we had our morning snuggle - me spooning into mummy's chest an Alfie behind her with his back against hers...he isn't that scary really except sometimes when he rubs his back on the bed (or carpet) he also growls ... but mummy reassures me he isn't growling at me 'cos otherwise I growl back.

It's almost 10am and we have all had breakfast, I took my pain relief tablet - I only spat it out once this time - and mummy has even had a coffee and now I'm asleep at her feet and Alfie is asleep beside her chair - we will be best friends again soon I'm sure, for now I think he is a bit scared of me 'cos I probably look odd with the "satellite dish" around my head but in the mean time we can get used to one another again.

Before I go I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all the requests - I have lotsa new friends now that's so cool and the gifts too.

You guys (and girls) are awesome *WOOF*

I don't remember much of my life before Christmas 2009 when I ended up outside a dog pound in a box, luckily this nice man found me and drove me to the city where a nice lady looked after me and her other doggies and then my mummy showed up - I knew she was my mummy 'cos I knew her "smell" she had that special mummy smell.

I moved in with mummy and her other doggie Alfie - he is pretty easy to get along with 'cept sometimes we get a bit jealous when one or the other is getting cuddles - then no one gets a cuddle that quickly solves that.

Soon after I moved in with mummy and Alfie my eyes became quite sore, I was rubbing them on the carpet so mummy knew to take me back to that nice girl vet Nicole that gave me a check up when I moved in. Nicole referred me to a special eye doctor who looked into my eyes, telling mummy they had advanced Glaucoma. She went home with eye drops for me which I hated.

So last week she decided to arrange for the nice girl vet to remove both my eyes to alleviate my pain....

I had my operation yesterday March 22 2010 and if I'm good I might be allowed to go home tonight March 23 2010 - so I can be with mummy and Alfie .
