Mom keeps talking to people about her "last day of work" and I don't really know what that means. Everyone here is petting me a lot and I hear they might even break out the laser pointer sometime today or tomorrow? I'm a little bit confused.

Wait.

There's my ball....

To Ripley:

My whole life changed the day I saw this photo.

When I picked you up and you licked my face, my life changed again.

Then you fell asleep in my lap and it changed even more. There was no turning back, even if everyone thought I was crazy.

***You are perfect***

The image of you lying on the living room floor next to Farley on the first night I had you is priceless.

I'll never forget how you cried on that first night. I won't tell anyone that "Careless Whisper" lulled you to sleep.

***You've taught me more about joy than any human being I've ever known***

I'm glad nothing happened when I dropped you down the steps on night 3.

I vaguely remember following you around the house when we were potty training. It amazes me that you were ever that small and clueless.

***I don't know what I'm going to do when you're not here anymore***

I still can't believe the only thing you ever destroyed was that one cardboard box.

I never knew an animal could be so smart.

***You make me so proud so often***

Watching the joy (and focus) on your face at the beach is one of the greatest pleasures of my life.

You will never be able to catch that darn reflection, my dear! Sorry to break the news to you.

***You inspire me to be the person you think I am***

To My Mom:

I'm so happy that I got to choose you. Imagine if I ended up living in the suburbs like the rest of my brothers and sisters?

Thank you for giving me such a good life. I don't know any other dogs who get to go to work with their moms!

I love it when we go in the thing that moves and it takes me to different places-you do that for me all of the time! But, I still don't understand why you sometimes get into it without me when I want to go with you?

I especially love when I go to the place with the cool, scratchy stuff and get to chase the stinky green thing into the water.

Oooh...there's a reflection! I better go stare it and chase it now.
